leon Chandra had a dilemma. They had a big event coming up..rather the school did. It wasn't much, just a get together with friends for a social event. There would be food, music and dancing. Sighing, the junior wondered what it would be like to have someone to go with. For now, what they really needed to focus on was whether or not they could figure out something to wear. Groaning the imp came to the home ec room to try and see about working with the sewing machine. Their purple eyes scanned the array of fabric, a thoughtful look crossing the youngsters face. Sighing Chandra realized it might be somewhat ridiculous for them to be here. As much as they loved fashion, knowing how to make things was simply not a well rounded skill set the Imp possessed. Then again how would Chandra truly know unless they tried? Frowning, they considered their options. "Its not like I know what I'm doing, I might as well test it out...?" They mused aloud, tail flicking back and forth, as if in contemplation on what to do. Humming thoughtfully, Candra crouched down, inspecting another thing of fabric. Curiously, the imp prodded a clawed digit as if inspecting it a little closer. Rano Elliah had her hands full. A social event? Here? At the school? She HAD to attend. Not to mention she had to be the best dressed one there. She had a closet full of designer outfits, but for this occasion she wanted to wear something that she had designed. So she'd spent time sketching out a half dozen ideas, trashing almost all of them. The one she'd finally decided on, that might work, needed a lot of time spent in the Home Ec class after school was over. Bolts of fabric were laid carefully throughout the room, set up in the order she would need them. Needle in hand, she turned at the sound of someone else's voice. Nearly dropping the needle, Oh their outfit was gorgeous! Elliah cleared her throat and rushed to stop the other nightmare from moving anything. "Ah, ah, please don't touch that!" she said. "I'm working on an outfit." A quick gesture to the half done piece that was being hand stitched up by the sewing machine to prove her story. "The fabric for home ec stuff is under it, sorry!" wc, 186 leon Chandra had been minding their own business, lost in thought as the Imp contemplated what to do. There was tons of ideas running through their head. Maybe... they could pick an outfit from their closet? That would be better than trying to learn how to make something... Chandra loved fashion but knowing how to make things was beyond them. In all fairness, Chandra just wanted to look nice. Their usual style worked of course! Noticing how everything seemed to be so neatly laid out, it had contributed to their poking at the bolt of fabric curiously. Chandra's ears twitched as the other head some one rush forward.. and plead not to touch the fabrics. Turning to face the other, the Imp smiled brightly. They were so cute!! Chandra couldn't help but admire the Baphomet. Glancing at the project the other was working on, Chandra gasped. "Oh....wow..." They breathed out, dumb struck. "Did.. you make that?! Its incredible!!" Chandra nearly squealed in delight. "Your work is spectacular if so!" Chandra looked to the other with a gleam of wonder in their eyes. Rano Elliah blinked, stunned as not only was her request respected, but then the other turned around and complimented what they were working on as well! Practically beaming, Elliah preened. "Yes, of course I made it! It's not anywhere near done yet. I still have the bottom half to stitch up and hemming and the accessories to dig out." Turning around, Elliah deftly wove her way back to her half buried sketch of the final design. Plucking it out from under some discarded fabric, she made her way back over to the imp. "Look, see, this is what it'll look like when it's done," Elliah held the final sketch out for the other to inspect. "Your fashion sense is SO much better than half the nightmare's I've seen around school. You must shop designer." She freely admired the imp's outfit. "My name is Elliah. Were you hoping to make something for the event too?" she held out a hand, giving the imp a smile. wc: 163 leon Chandra gazed at the other with a curious expression, noticing how much pride their work gave the other once complimented. Listening to the other Chandra seemed to look like they were contemplating the others words. "Its hard to think such a beauty will be even more so when you're done. Fashion is such a wonderful thing." Candra sighed dreamily. As the other moved to rifle around for their drawing, the Imp peered curiously at the Baphomets rendition. "Oooo!" They made an excited sound as their pink eyes sparkled with delight. Comparing the two, Chandra could tell there was a lot left to be done. At the Baphomets compliment, Chandra lifted their head a little higher with a proud expression. "I do shop designer! I also sometimes thrift by for fun." Chandra giggled softly. "I can tell you do too~ You have a good eye." Beaming at the other, Chandra clawed paw reached out to shake the others palm. "I'm Chandra! It's a pleasure Elliah." The other greeted warmly with a genuine smile. "I dunno... I might love fashion but I'm only so good with a needle and thread.." Sighing a tad dramatically, the Imp shrugged before grinning. "Do you mind if I sit with you while I practice?" Chandra requested, more looking for an excuse to hang with the other. Rano Elliah nodded empathetically. Finally, a nightmare who got it! Most of the time when she tried talking with other nightmares about the subject they just brushed her off! Or, even worse, they just gave her blank looks. Who in their right mind could deny how incredible fashion was. Enthused by the imp showing such interest, she resolved to get her binder with a few of her other designs in it. "Thrifting is such a grab bag though. Half the time all I find is junk and then occasionally I get something that I can't even believe made it to the thrift shop!" Elliah didn't thrift very often, and most of the time when she did she just ended up disappointed. The fact that not only did Chandra see that she had on designer goods, but that they could manage to find gold in the dirt heaps of thrift stores made her resolve to be their friend. Firmly clasping the clawed paw, she was glad when she managed not to cut herself as they shook. "It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance," Elliah said sincerely. Listening to her, Elliah was touched. "Well of course you can sit next to me. In fact, I insist! And! Even if you can't manage to make something acceptable, I'm sure that together we can find the perfect outfit in your closet." Elliah took a deep breath, standing up straighter. "In fact! If we can't find it in yours, we'll simply have to combine our closets and find something that works the best!" The more enthused she got about the subject, the louder she got without realizing it. "Now, what sort of design are you working on? Have you sketched anything out already, or were you hoping to see the fabrics you could use before you started. Because I saw some marvelous purple fabric somewhere over here that I didn't need. If you hadn't come along I probably would have snatched it up and taken it back to my dorm for another project." Elliah sidled around the other to go looking under some heaps of fabric that clearly weren't a part of her project, for she tossed quite a few of them aside in her search. wc: 371 leon Chandra had gotten very lucky they happened to come here today. The Baphomet before them was an awesome one to run into. How had they gotten so lucky to meet q cool new friend? They just simply had to be friends now, Chandra was determined. Chandra's tail twitched as if curious as the tried to peek over the others shoulder to see more of the drawings. Could anyone blame them?! They'd just met someone they could talk to about fashion! Plus they were amazingly talented at art. Chandra had to admit... they didn't feel like they even compared to the other with their skillsets and hobbies. "Oh totally gal." Chandra laughed. "I've been disappointed more times then not!" The other confessed. "These shorts didnt belong in that discount pile." Chandra beamed thoughtfully doing a little wiggle of their body for good measures from amusement. The fact the other was so welcoming and open minded made Chandra feel at ease, like they were old friends meeting up again. Which if one was being realistic, that was pretty sweet considering they were otherwise complete strangers. Chandra was extremely gently with those sharp Imp claws. Was it any wonder why Chandra struggled with a thread and needle? No matter that was an excuse! They would just have to adapt. Flushing with delight Chandra beamed. "Alright~ Excellent." They replied in a sing song voice. The Imps eyes sparkled with wonder at the others suggestion. "I think we are about the same size too! I dont mind sharing with you." Chandra stretched their legs out... pulling their striped socks up to their knee high position. "I am most glad we met! School can be rather drab when there's no one to share your interests with." Chandra complained with a chuckle. "Noo... I'm not an artist like you. Fabric would be nice to see." Chandra rubbed their face slightly. "I love purple... but that's bias." Chandra got up, bouncing in step to go to Elliah's side. Rano Elliah openly admired the shorts as Chandra did their body wiggle. They were more than a little jealous of the fact that not only had they found them at the thrift store, but they'd been discounted? Ugh! She wish she had that kind of luck. Clearly she'd have to ask Chandra to invite her along the next time they went out thrift shopping. Maybe she'd have better luck at a different place. "Same! I don't go very often, but the next time you plan a trip, totally invite me!" Her tail wiggled behind her. The fact that the imp was as excited as she was about getting an outfit together was miraculous. Already she could see them picking out fashionable things together. "Actually, if your closet looks anything like what I think it looks like, we should just become roommates." Elliah spoke as she dug through fabrics. "Because odds are, it is fantastic and we'll end up swapping clothes more often than not." Setting aside several fabrics with the most hideous patterns she'd ever seen, she sighed. No wonder they'd ended up in this room for anyone to pick from for school projects. She wasn't even sure you would want to make a quilt with this. Sticking her tongue out and making a soft gagging sound, she tucked them at the very bottom of the pile, spotting the purple fabric she'd been thinking of as she did. "Ah! Here it is." The fabric was a deep saturated purple, with threads of silver running though it. Most of the time when the fabric looked like this, it was scratchy and unpleasant to have rubbing against your skin for too long, but this was was surprisingly smooth. Turning, she came up short as Chandra was just abruptly there beside her. A startled squeak escaped the baphomet and she giggled, blushing a bit in embarrassment. "If you're going to make something you simply have to have a design to go off of, otherwise you'll never be satisfied with whatever you make. IF you can manage to finish anything, that is!" Elliah started to take a step back, but then thought better of it and circled around to get to Chandra's back. "Let me check something real fast," she said, already in place and reaching into their top to pull out the tag so they could compare sizes. She scanned it quickly before letting go and tucking it back into their shirt. Tail twitching like crazy, she grinned and bounced back in front of them. "We are the same size!! So we can TOTALLY swap clothes!" "Honestly your tail is gonna be the only thing that'll throw off the bottoms. You need a bit bigger hole that I do, don't you?" Elliah thought of looking at their bottoms like they had their top, but that would be going a bit too far. "I think I have an outfit design that could work for you. We'd have to go back to my room to check though." She'd left her binder in her room, hoping that if she just brought the one design she wouldn't be distracted by finding the perfect fabric for another design. (It had happened more than a few times.) WC: 537 leon Chandra had to admit, they had been pretty lucky where Elliah was concerned. They didn't have many close friends, let alone those who actually shared their enthusiasm. While Chandra was more on the reserved, if not shy side, the fact the other so openly and happily wrapped them up in their going ons...brought a sense of peace to the Imp they hadn't known they needed. Normally, Chandra didn't get lucky like this...it was almost to good to be true. Where they going to wake up at any moment? Chandra couldn't help but wonder... their tail flicking as if in consideration. "I can and will totally invite you! I don't always find good deals...but we can go to some nice stores at the mall after if it's a bust~!" Chandra added in a sing song tone. Their guardian more or less spoiled the junior rotten, as they were rarely around...it was a way to make them feel better, Chandra supposed. It was normal to the normally quieter Imp. Elliah made them want to be outgoing, nor could Chandra stop smiling. At the others suggestion about being room mates... the Imp's eyes sparkled with wonder. It got lonely coming home to no siblings... and only the cleaning crew. It was why Chandra liked to stay on campus in the dorms...it just felt more like home. "Oooo...I would love that!" They almost teared up..quickly rubbing their face against their furred arm. Beaming brightly, Chandra felt a sense of ease that they hadn't remembered feeling since easy childhood. As the other went about looking for fabric...Chandra had time to reflect. For what it was worth, they also were trying to pay attention to everything the Baphomet was doing at the same time. They didn't want to miss any detail.... Chandra wanted to learn as much as they could about the other. Although they hadn't meant to scare the other! A sheepish expression crossed the Imp's features. In relation to the drawing before working, the rubbed their chin thoughtfully. "Mm..That makes sense..it gives you something to create and move towards I guess huh?" Holding still so the other could check their size in tops, Chandra's pink eyes glimmered with wonder. "Ohhhhh!!! I can't wait!" She breathed out excitedly. Peering behind at the fluffy tail in question, Chandra sheepishly smiled, before mentioning their actual pant size. "Otherwise.. yes the tail hole is usually a little larger." They admitted. With a considering look between the beautiful purple fabric..and Elliah the other looked curious. "Hmm~ Let's go then! Lead the way, and I'll follow." Chandra couldn't the light bounce to their step..feeling like they were on top of the world. Rano "Oh, there's a little boutique near the mall that I just adore," Elliah gushed. "If it's the mall that I'm thinking of anyway. If not, then we can totally visit the one I stop by the most." Her last time there had been a bit of a disappointment; Elliah had only found a couple things she'd liked enough to purchase. Even though she'd been forced to come here as punishment, she was so so so glad that she'd been allowed whatever funds she needed to buy the things she liked. Otherwise she would have quickly surpassed her limit. Ecstatic, both at the new friend, and at the idea of them shopping together and finding cute clothes, Elliah beamed. Even after being startled by their sudden proximity, they were quick to shrug the feeling off. Absolutely excited to hang out more with them, Elliah handed off the fabric so she could check their top. As they stepped back around in front of the imp, they spotted a lovely sheer grey fabric that would work well with it. Snitching it out of the pile, she added it atop the purple fabric. "Yes, exactly! Sketching out a design can help you better visualize the final product, not to mention it helps when you need to double check how much yardage you need and the positioning for what should go where. After you've started you can make small adjustments as needed, and still end up with something recognizable as the design you'd started with." Chandra's pant size was a bit bigger than hers, she learned. Not that that was a surprise. Chandra had a bit more hip, something Elliah was more than a bit jealous of, and a tail that big would obviously need more room. Taking both the bolts of fabric from them, she slid them onto the chair that had her stuff. For good measure, she scrawled out a note proclaiming which fabrics were in use. Then she turned and lead them out of the room, gesturing for Chandra to follow. "Oh, I just know you're going to love my designs. And if you'd like, you can look through my closet while we're in there and see if anything catches your fancy. Otherwise we can look through my most recent binder and I'm sure we'll find something in there you like!" Elliah was confident that between the two of them they could find or make something fashionable for the imp. Their tail was wagging like crazy and they were so glad that the school had decided to host the event! Otherwise they likely never would have crossed paths and she would be stuck here bored out of her mind, but looking fantastic. WC: 450 Total: 1,707
