Kahlua was waiting, rather impatiently for her last batch of cookies to come out of the oven. The young girl spent a lot of her free time either with her family or in the kitchen cooking these days. She hovered around the oven with a bored expression on her face. As soon as they came out..she planned to hand out a variety of goodies to her fellow students. She'd woken up extra early to rush into her favorite home ec room to have a workstation all to herself. The small coffee colored Baphomet couldn't help it, they smelled so good! Of course, she wanted to share..it was normal for her. Having as many siblings, no matter how well off her parents were, still had required her to learn how to adjust to her new life.
Humming happily she smiled thoughtfully as the timer began its final countdown. Who knew a few minutes could take foreeeveerrrrr.

Zoren could smell something yummy..and it wasn't even lunchtime! The little baphomet peeked down the hallway leading to a classroom. Curious, the small child nibbled at their bottom lip in consideration. The worst they did was go, and be told to go away. Right? Deciding to go investigate, Zoren wore a small smile. There was no harm in looking after all! Zoren set off on his small adventure, optimistic about what they would find. It was more because whatever was being made...smelled so sweet. The androgynous child's nose twitched, a considering look on that dark colored face.
Entering the small classroom, Zoren looked around, finding a young girl eagerly watching the countdown timer on her oven. "Oh...there is someone in 'ere..." Zoren mumbled, unsure whether to come in, or go.

Kahlua jumped slightly as she heard a strangers voice suddenly when there had been mostly nothing but silence. She turned to greet the other, finding before her a baphomet like herself! Although she wasn't sure if they were a boy or girl...that wasn't very important. "Huh...? Oh hi there! Yup. I am making a bunch of goodies to hand out in class today..." She explained, tilting her head at the other freshling. "You know what, I don't know you...but I made extra! I don't mind sharing with you, but you have to wait with me." She grinned, deciding that was a fair trade. She got to meet someone new and didn't have to carry all the goodies back to her class alone.

Zoren listened to the other explain what she was up to, surprised she was willing to part with one of the sugary goodies. Curious blue eyes peered at the other as Zoren contemplated what to do. Moving closer to Kahlua, the smaller Baphomet nodded slowly finally with a smile forming on their face. "Okay...I will stay with you and help." Zoren offered finally. It wasn't like they had been mean. In fact, the Baphomet seemed really nice! Plopping down in a chair beside where the other had been waiting, Zoren considered what the other was up to.
"But..You seem like you got it all..I dunno what I can do to help ya." Zoren added after a moment, worried the other would send them away for not knowing how to bake.

Kahlua didn't miss a beat as the other said they didn't know what they could do to be of help. "Well, when it comes for the right time to head to class, I will have you help me carry everything! For now, you can keep me company." She beamed at the other, giggling before giving the other a gentle pat on the arm. "By the way, I'm Kahlua...it's nice to meet you!" The Baphomet greeted after a moment, deciding not knowing what to refer to the other by was driving her crazy.
Her little short tail began wagging as if she were a Grimm. "I wasn't expecting company...I came to school early today just to make this work." She yawned noisily.

Zoren had gotten comfy as the child rubbed one of their eyes sleepily. "Ok..! I can do that." The child's smile brightened their dark features. While tired, it had been worth coming in early today. Nova had a project to work on..so he had come to classes so he didn't have to go alone or make their adoptive parent, Jamie have to make two special trips. Zoren yawned noisily as they lifted their head up, to look up to Kahlua. A smile formed on the smaller Baphomet's face. "My..name is 'ah..." Zoren rubbed their nose a little sheepishly.
"Its Zoren.. yer name's really pretty.." They mumbled shyly before looking back down at the table, worried the other would be bothered by their compliment.

Kahlua blinked at the other a few times as she was paid a compliment. Her tanned cheeks flushed as she gave the other a warm, if not charming smile in response. "Why thank you!" She gave a small curtesy in thanks. As if on queue, the timer going off startled her ever so slightly. Jumping in place, she placed a hand over her heart as she laughed at herself. "I want to be a chef..or baker when I grow up, so I try and practice a couple times during the week," Kahlua admitted as she pursed her lips together.
Shrugging after a moment she looked thoughtful. "I don't know where it will take me...but my parents always tell me to follow my heart. So...I think I will!" She smiled brightly as she slipped an oven mitten on, and began to retrieve the several tray sheets loaded with cookies.

Zoren frowned as the other talked about what she wanted to do when she grew up. Zoren hadn't even started thinking about stuff like that! They loved to color...but it wasn't like they were a child prodigy when it came to art. Considering what to do... the other nibbled on the tip of their thumb. "That is really cool you have that~! Mm... 'ah dunno what I wanna do yet." Looking down, somewhat embarrassed the younger Baphomet frowned a little harder. Their new friend seemed to have it all together, they meanwhile struggled just to remember to get up and brush their hair without sissy or Jamie reminding them.
The child's blue eyes widened in fascination as Kahlua took the cookies from the oven. The scent got stronger, making them sigh pleasantly from the rich, warm smell of sugary goodness.

Kahlua looked at the other with a gentle expression as she sat the last tray down. Wiping her brow off once she got the oven mitten off. "Hm? It's okay not to know what you want to do! Are you just starting classes right? I thought I saw you walking around during freshling orientation...it's okay seriously! You will find something you really enjoy and will go all out at it I bet." She encouraged the other, reaching a hand out to clasp the other's shoulder. "Until then, and always, now you have a friend who will help you whenever you need." Kahlua informed the other, before glancing at the clock across the room. Uh oh, the bell would be going off soon.
"Oh! It's almost time for the first period...help me get these into some big ziplock baggies! But firrrrst....as promised. Here!" She smiled brightly. The other hadn't been bad company at all! Kahlua was rather glad Zoren decided to wander into the home ec room.
Once the tray was cooled down to be safe, she reached for a cookie. Kahlua snagged one for both herself and Zoren. The only thing missing was milk to go with the chocolate chip cookies. After enjoying her cookie, she went to work bagging the rest up in order to easily share.

Zoren hadn't exactly expected Kahlua's kindness, but the fact the other was so warm and encouraging made their heart beat speed up. Zoren hadn't expected to meet someone so nice so soon! Nodding slowly, the other Baphomet rubbed their arm. "Mm...yes I just started...I guess you are right." They confirmed glancing up finally, no longer so nervous around the other. They did still have tons of time to worry about that kind of stuff! There was no reason to be it seemed! Whatever would have been said after that was lost in the excited little gasp as they were handed a cookie. Bright blue eyes shone with childish delight as Zoren accepted the treat. Immediately munching on it, they beamed toothily at Kahlua in thanks.
"Okkaay! Yes! Of course." Zoren exclaimed. Quickly, Zoren helped to transfer all the baked goods. Before too long, the pair was off to go play the cookie equivalent of a gift delivery system.
