Personality: As one may guess by the way Hizami introduces herself to others, she is a bright, little ray of sunshine. Fair and innocent, she wishes for the best of all new recruits, big and small. Although the daughter of Shunsui Kyōraku, she isn't perverted. However, just like her father, she is naturally bubbly and optimistic, always smiling even in the midst of the battle. She doesn't drink, but does love to take naps and chill around. There are many components that make her just like Shunsui, and her personality is just that. Hizami is a peace-loving woman who will always try to talk her way out of battles, though she does not wish to insult opponents by refusing to fight. She has a great distaste for fighting, often following her father's quote," It doesn't matter whether you owe someone or they owe you; as soon as you start fighting, you are in the wrong either way." The slightly eccentric Hazami also seems to like making an impression on opponents. Though she tries to talk her way out of a fight, she will fight when the situation demands it. Hizami maintains a level of honor and integrity when engaging in battle. She refuses to fight with children or even in the presence of a child, often nurturing a child if it is crying rather than ignore him / her. She also dislikes taking the life of innocent people, whether it be to put them in confinement or killing. She always maintains a veil of respect for her opponents, and is polite in combat situations and prefers to fight one on one. Hizami rarely looses her calmness in the midst of a heated battle, even if the opponent is throwing insults her way. Hizami retains a level of humility and is not overly arrogant about her strength, acknowledging that other ranks and recruits have the potential to become stronger than herself if given enough time.
Biography: When she was born into the city of Vale, Masae was born as the first daughter of Shinsui, and she was probably the most happiest person on the planet at the time. Although her father went to the outsides to fight pirates for work half of the time as a protector, she stayed with her mother and help her around the house. She was often smiled, but retained her innocence as a child. She wandered around as a child, but this doesn't reflect the amount of intelligence she has. Her father would come home everyday to play with her, teaching her new things about the world and about their own race. Her name was Masae Kyōraku, but her mother argued with her father change her last name to Ueno, her mother's maiden name. It wasn't uncommon within their family tree, but Masae loved both of them no matter what history they both represented. As she grew older, she began to learn the way of weapons, often practicing with her father when she came home. Shinsui made sure to teach her well, for he wanted her to stay safe. Little did he know that she wanted to be just like him: a marine whom fought the pirates that plagued their world. She didn't mind if she died, if it was for a good cause. A few years into her teenager years, her father had received two fruits, or rather, took them from a pirate who had stolen them. Her father was entrusted with the Gas Gas Fruit for safe keeping... However, Masae thought it was a exotic fruit and...ate it. So yeah. She ate a Devil Fruit as a child.
