Wade had a good time with his new friend the last night. After his mom had help Cyril bandage up properly with some pain medicine, it was a rather calm night. Today though, the hybrid watched over Cyril like a hawk. He wanted to find out who had hurt him so he could tattle and put an end to the other's torturing. However, the day went by mostly average up until the end of Wade's last class.
He stared at his phone in shock. His mom... really adopted Cyril!? A smile crossed his face as he replied to the messaged, agreeing to get all of Cyril's stuff together for when she picked them up. It also looked like Emilia was going over to her girlfriend's house so it shouldn't be too overwhelming for Cyril.
Wade moved to catch up with Cyril, "Hey, Cyril! Wait up!" Once he caught up, he smiled to the other. "Aren't you glad classes are over?" He asked. "I need to talk to you about something." He rubbed his neck, still smiling but not sure how he wanted to tell him.

The next day was stressful for Cyril. Classes were getting harder and he had to keep ducking out of sight of the other students, especially Wade. Not to mention he had to talk to quite a few teachers about his bandages and then dragged him aside to tell him something about someone wanting to adopt him? That hadn't made sense to him. He was at the very end of his junior year, about to be a senior. He didn't even know anyone outside of the academy who knew him well enough to think to do something like that. Who would want to adopt him? Besides, he was a freak. . who would want to adopt someone like him.
The only real highlight of the day was that the previous night had been so nice. Waverly had redone his bandages and despite the fact that the bruises still ached phenomenally, it was better than the previous times he'd had to go through this. His pets had behaved much better then he'd thought they would, and it had been nice, to spend some time with Wade. Even though now every time he turned around he could see Wade watching him. He couldn't help but startle every time.
Now that class was finally over he was heading back to the dorm. Last night he hadn't managed to clean up after the day's mess, so he would have to really clean up today. He hadn't made it very far when he heard Wade calling out to him. He startled, then winced as the motion hurt. "H-hi?" he swallowed a bit, continuing to make his way back to his dorm. "Y-Yeah. . .classes." Glancing out of the corner of his eye, he slowed down a bit. "What's that?" he asked, not liking the wobbly quality of Wade's smile.

Wade really didn't know how to tell the other the news so... maybe just tell him? No.. he'd figure something out. "So.. You remember when you said that you lived here at the academy?" He asked, motioning to have him walk with him.. heading to where he remembered the other's dorm was. He'd have to help him pack anyways, right?
"Well, you don't anymore." Wade told him, looking at him. "My mom, Waverly, adopted you this afternoon." He let it sink in for a moment as they walked. He waited for a moment or two before looking back to him. "Sooo... We gotta collect your familiars and stuff. Mom says we need to pick out some stuff for your room... She said you get the room next to me!" He exclaimed, actually rather excited to have a brother-like figure... not that Emilia wasn't cool... After all, he was gender fluid soooo he usually got along with everyone. "Mom will be here in about thirty minutes to help with whatever he can't or didn't get."

"Yeah," Cyril replied, not sure where this was going. He was glad when Wade started going towards his dorm though, at least he wasn't about to drag him away. It wouldn't be a problem if he did, just as long as he got to take care of his familiars first. When Wade told him he didn't live at the academy anymore he sucked in a breath and nearly tripped over his own foot. What? What did that mean?! Three seconds later he got his answer. Adopted??!?!? But. How? Why?
Mind reeling, Cyril paused and had to take a moment to breathe."W-what do you mean a-a-a-adopted?? I-We just met l-last night?! Why. . would she. . .How???" sputtering out some of the questions on his mind felt better, but didn't get him any actual answers since Wade had kept going. So he scurried after him, catching up after a few moments. "Y-you can't just a-adopt someone you don't even k-know!" Cyril sputtered, brushing some hair from his face. It was getting long enough to be troublesome.

Wade turned to look back at him with a large smile, "Why not? Mom adopt Emilia that way... and she adopted you too. Besides, she met you last night so she knows you." He told him, stopping to let him catch up more. "I guess you made an impression on mom.. She just texted me when I got out of class saying that I needed to gather your stuff up and help you get ready to move in with us." He explained, "Don't worry, mom is really nice." He reassured, moving to slide his hand into Cyril's. "I'll be here for you so it will be okay. We will get you all settled in!" He enthused, heading towards the dorms. "Oh, hey! You won't have to worry about those bullies either because mom will kick their teeth in if they hurt you again." He chuckled some, mostly kidding about kicking the teeth in. If anything, waverly would more make sure they got expelled or something like that... punished so that they won't even look at Cyril again.
"Maybe you could take karate with me or something. I bet we'd make an awesome team."

"Be-be-because you . . you just. . can't!" Cyril couldn't believe it. Why would she want to adopt him, especially after she'd seen him last night. Saw how. . pitiful he was. He was a freak. There was no way she wanted to adopt him. That was crazy. "I-I don't. . I can't!" Cyril's mind was spinning. That was way too much to just drop on someone. Especially right after class! Not that he would have reacted much better if Wade had done this some other way. "I-I mean, she was really nice, but she-she-she doesn't. . .she should-shouldn't have to deal with me. I-I-I'm too much of a has-hassle," he stuttered and stammered, trying to get Wade to understand. He gripped Wade's hand tightly, picking up the pace to get back to his dorm. He just had to get him to see.
"I-I'm not. . . I wouldn't be able to d-do something like that. I-I have a-all my pets and and and, m-my stuff. T-there's no way that she wants a-all of that in her. .in your home. W-what about your si-sister?" Cyril groped about for more to say, other reasons he shouldn't leave. He'd say friends, but he wasn't sure they thought of him as such, so his only real one was Wade. Who seemed. . .excited? To have him as a brother? Unless it was just a case of pity, where he was excited to do something for a freak like him because it made him look good?

Wade followed the other as his hand was held tightly. It didn't bother him at all that the other was freaking out. Though, he had expected him to be a bit more... excited? "You are not a hassle.. You'll be loved and happy!" He tried to reassure. Clearly this boy had more than a rough day yesterday... more like a rough existence. He couldn't help but wonder if his mom saw that before he did. The hyrbid chuckled a bit when the other started spitting out his doubt questions. He tugged Cyril a bit to stop him. "Look at me." He told him, "Mom has everything figured out and if not, she will. It's going to be okay." He moved to hug the other, "Your familiars are coming with, your stuff is coming with and you are coming with. Emilia is excited to have you join our family... she was adopted too. Everything will be alright." He tried to soothe the other. "I am excited because I get to help a friend and.. I get to spend more time with you. I think you are really nice, shy too but kind and I can't wait to get to know you more." He smiled brightly to him, releasing him and taking his hand again. "Take a deep breath or two." Wade advised, "Then we can get your stuff and your little cuties, load up the car and take you home." He then started to lead the other back to his dorm so they could get started.

Cyril didn't notice the first couple tugs, legs moving as his mind spun. When he realized Wade had stopped behind him, he stopped and turned to look at him. The hug startled him at first, and was more than a little painful because of his bruises. However it was. ..nice and he slowly relaxed. He could feel the other's heartbeat, slow and regular, against his chest, the slightly damp feeling that most nixies had. The subtle smell of the other's lotion filled his nose and he slowly calmed down. And yet, he still couldn't help but ask, "a-are you sure?"
He felt his cheeks warm a bit as Wade expressed his excitement for him moving in with them. Getting. . adopted. It was. He never thought anyone would want to adopt him. Especially since he was currently living at the academy and didn't really leave it. Nobody here paid him any special attention, and why should they? There were hundreds of other orphans just like him living there.
Cyril gave Wade a wobbly sort of smile as he broke the hug off, squeezing his hand a bit when it was taken again. At his direction he took a couple deep breaths. "O-ok. . i-if you're sure?" he asked softly, following after him. Even if he wasn't too much trouble, he hadn't seen any cockatriels at their house. They didn't know their true destructive abilities. Cyril bit his lip a bit. He'd have to tell them, have to tell Waverly when she got there about it.

Wade smiled as the other seemed to relax a bit, walking with him to his room. "I am absolutely sure." He reassured again, keeping hold of his hand. Cyril was an odd character but from the likes of it, that is only because he hadn't been treated right. Bullies were the absolute worst. They were the reason that he asked to learn self defense. Once they made it to Cyril's room, Wade smiled brightly. "You should start thinking of what color you want your room to be. You can do any color!" He told him, trying to see if he can get him more pumped about moving in with them rather than frightened or afraid. "It's going to be so much fun getting all your stuff set up!"

Cyril took another deep breath, squeezing Wade's hand again. Then he took the lead, correcting Wade's course to his dorm and not his neighbors. It was still strange, the concept that someone wanted to adopt him. To take him and all of his acquired pets into their home and and and make him a part of their fa-family. It was, astounding to say the least. Unbelievable.
Awkwardly, he fumbled with his non-dominant hand to unlock and open the door. Inside was a bit of a mess, not as much as he'd been expecting, but stuff was still out of place and knocked over. "W-what color is your room?" he asked. A nice neutral color would be nice. Like a brown or a beige or something, not white like the dorms were. "I-is your mom bringing bo-boxes or something?" he asked. Otherwise he wasn't sure how they were going to get his stuff out. Not that he really had too much. Most of his knick-knacks and plushes and such were from events, and then he had supplies for his pets set up in one corner.

Wade was glad that Cyril fixed their path since he didn't quite remember what room he was in. Once they got the door open, he smiled as he saw all the familiars. They only had one familiar at home and it was a skyfish... so it was neat to think that they'd have more. It almost made him want a familiar of his own! "Yup, mom be here soon with the boxes. While we wait, let's organize and gather what goes in boxes." Wade replied, getting a game plan. "I can fold your bedding up if you'd like. You can also leave them if they aren't sentimental. We could get you new ones." He told him. "Do you have animal carriers?" He asked.

Cyril paused for a moment, just inside the door, to look around the room. He. . didn't know how they were going to get everything out easily and and and there were the pets. His cockatriels had behaved yesterday, but the odds of them doing it again today were slim to none. He bit his lip a couple times, overwhelmed for a few moments about how much he had to pack in order to get it all packed up and ready to go. "I-I can g-get all my clothes, s-so don't worry about that," he said, reluctantly letting go of Wade's hand. "U-um. . .you can g-get my plushies a-and stuff?"
Cyril and Wade haphazardly cleaned up and got everything ready and soon enough Waverly arrived with the boxes and a bit of help. Even without the animal carriers, they somehow got all of Cyril's animals to the house without any of them escaping or wounding anyone. Waverly was patient with Cyril asking for reassurance repeatedly. Cyril had to pause a couple times to breathe, and remember that this was a good thing, but each time Waverly and Wade comforted him and let him take his time. It took longer than expected, but eventually everything was moved into Waverly's house, all the familiars were settled, and they even picked up a couple furnishings for his new room.
