Relationship Chart Explanation
[Character Name goes here]: Your character's full name goes here.
[Your Picture Here]: Your character's profile picture. Will be resized to 260 width, 300 height, and be aligned to the left.
[Character Name]: The character with whom your character has a positive or negative relationship. This name is that person's primary name, so whatever name that person chooses to go by.
[Affinity]: The intensity to which your character has a positive or negative relationship with someone else, ranging from nothing (-) to S (maximum intensity). For the purpose of our guild, your character can only have one relationship at S rank, three relationships at A rank, four relationships at B rank, and five relationships at C rank. Any relationship can be romantic or platonic regardless of the rank. Your character's affinity with someone affects the quality of the changes to stats and additional changes.
At C Rank, your character receives a single point of change to be utilized. At B Rank, your character receives three points of change to be utilized. At A Rank, your character receives five points of change to be utilized. At S Rank, your character receives ten points of change to be utilized.
In addition to granting a change to your character while active and alive, Affinity also determines the intensity to which the loss of that character has an impact on your character. For the purpose of this guild, that loss is always felt in the opposite direction. For example, if you have a loved one or a nemesis in which you have an S Rank affinity and gained a full boon (or increase) to HP, Str, and Mag whenever they are present, their loss will cause a full bane (or decrease) to your character's HP, Str, and Mag. Those parameters won't go to zero or anything like that, but they will suffer significantly in those areas, and such changes are long-lasting effects.
[Health Points (HP)]: Your character's vitality and overall health. Anything involving your character's physical well-being is affected by this.
[Strength (Str)]: Your character's physical kinetic output and endurance. Anything involving your character's muscles is affected by this.
[Magic (Mag)]: Your character's magical potential and endurance. Anything involving your character's mana reserves is affected by this.
[Skill (Skl)]: Your character's hand-eye coordination and motor control. Anything involving your character's subconscious reactions is affected by this.
[Speed (Spd)]: Your character's stamina and fast-twitch muscle control. Anything involving your character's ability to react is affected by this.
[Luck (Lck)]: Your character's likelihood of receiving a positive or a negative outcome. Anything involving your character's influence on the world is affected by this.
[Defense (Def)]: Your character's constitution and response to external physical forces. Anything involving your character's ability to recover from physical damage is affected by this.
[Resistance (Res): Your character's mental and magical response to stress. Anything involving your character's ability to recover from mental/magical damage is affected by this.
The arrows and dashes are points of change that show which parameters are affected and by how much. Your character can have a maximum of three points of change in any one parameter, and they do not have to be the same change. For example, your character can have an up arrow, a down arrow, and a dash to represent the varying ways your character is affected by another character. The up arrow would represent an increase by itself, the down arrow would represent a drop below normal by itself or a nullifying return to normal when paired with the up arrow, and the dash would represent an absolute zero-sum that is not affected by either the up arrow or the down arrow when paired up.
[Text for additional boons/bane]: The chart quantifies the overall effect someone might have on your character, but there may be a need to further clarify what someone's effect is. If your character is receiving a boost to resistance, for example, you may choose to clarify that the boost is an overall boost to magical resistance or an overall reduction of fire magic resistance. And the boosts or banes described in this section almost always correlate to one of the over-arching parameters.
Note: These changes from relationships are solely for your character. Any changes you give to someone else's character must be stated in their own relationship chart. For the purposes of this guild, a relationship is defined as the interaction of two characters with each other. You cannot have a meaningful relationship with someone you have never met, nor can you have a meaningful relationship if the other person is unaware of your existence. Affinities with other characters is mutual, but changes to parameters are not. To have a working relationship, you must both express the same magnitude of affinity for each other (your character can intensely love someone who hates them just as intensely). However, whatever changes you allocate to your character as a result of that relationship is completely independent of whatever changes the other character allocates as a result of that relationship. Except for specific enemies, these parameters merely help you to survive the world and are a reflection of yourself and how you interact with the world. These parameters do not affect your ability to "make" something happen to someone else (i.e. kill someone, force them to love you or do your bidding, etc.). You cannot make anyone do anything, you can only control your character. Every character starts off with zero affinity with everyone else, regardless of history. Affinity is built up over time as characters interact with each other in the world. That being said, even a momentary meeting, if mutually accepted, can have an immediate impact. For the purposes of this guild, your character's affinity will either go up or be considered a loss. There is no stepping down gradually. For the purposes of this guild, relationships and everything that they bring about are permanent reminders of your character's history. They are not erasable, nor are any of the effects drawn about by such relationships. You are in charge of how your characters form relationships. You will not be forced to make relationships, nor will you be forced to maintain sustained relationships. They will either build you up or they will break you down. You may propose changes to your character's relationship chart as well as any evidence to support the claim to Avacnela or Snowpaya. The proposal will then be evaluated, and any approved changes will be made. Avacnela and Snowpaya reserve the right to add, remove, or otherwise modify these rules or your chart as necessary.
