Crispin paced slightly back and forth, debating what to do. He wanted to get over his nervousness and simply ask Lilja out on a proper date. They were only friends of course, but he really did care about her... but did she feel the same way? Pursing his lips he stopped his pacing, finally making up his mind. The worse she said was no, right? Smiling thoughtfully, the happy go lucky sporty Grimm decided to see what came of it. They had practiced together today, so all this overthinking wouldn't do him much good. With all the finals going on and students rushing to get their work done, Crispin had been no exception in that he was busy.
That didn't mean practice and sports weren't off the board. It was just more things that took up his time.
The young Grimm had met his friend by accident on the ball field. They had started hanging out off and on...but that didn't mean she would want to date him. Changing into his uniform, Cris shot her his usual pregame chatter. "Hey, you heading out now? Also, how goes? Oh..by the way Lilja! Are you busy after the game?" Swallowing down the lump in his throat, Crispin made his way outside.

Lilja had showed up in her uniform so she had already started practicing, kicking the ball around and rolling around the grass was fun. When she saw Crispin, she stopped and waited for him to get to her. Then he started asked so many questions, was he nervous or something? He wasn't normally like this. "You okay? Breathe." She told him, cocking her head to the side some as she tried to figure out what was up with him. "Yeah, I am here. I am alright... and I think Hunter and I had plans after our game. Why?" She answered him then asking her own question. It was weird because normally Crispin was more collected than shouting out consecutive questions. "You can join us if you'd like. I believe we are going to the arcade... Had to get the loaf out somehow." She giggled more, passing him the ball so they could practice.
"What's on your mind?" Lilja asked him, curious if something bad had happened and he just didn't know how to tell her. Was he moving or something? Was Kobe okay? Or was it his pack? The grimm inhaled and exhaled, calming herself down. He'd probably tell her, right? Hopefully it wasn't bad news because it sure would be hard to play the game if she was worried the whole time.

Crispin was slightly out of breath by the time he caught up to her. He watched her kick the ball around a bit, admiring her skill. He wasn't nearly as good at soccer as she was, he was better at baseball but he still loved the team sports activity regardless. Looking sheepish he took in a deep breath and exhaled. Breathing was a good idea. "Okay yea, I don't know why I'm rambling." He admitted sheepishly.
Hearing she had plans with Hunter he recalled the earlier conversation with Kobe. Looking at her considering what to say she passed him the ball. He tapped it lightly sending it upwards, his knee connecting with the ball next before letting it drop and passing it back. Even just a little practice like this settled his nerves.
"Well...I wanted to ask you out on a date. You are the most rad girl I know, and wanted to ask but it all came out as million question " He admitted, deciding to be honest. "But you have plans today...so, if you'll have me sure! I think hanging out with you two would be awesome! I don't know your loaf very well but he seems really important to you!" He readied himself for her next kick. "That sounds like fun, I haven't been to the arcade in forever. Sorry to worry you. I guess...I was over thinking like I said." Cris rubbed his neck momentarily before shrugging.

Lilja listened to Crispin explain that he was nervous. She was curious as to why? Hadn't they hung out enough for him not to be nervous. She pulled her leg back to kick back the ball when Crispin asked her on a date... Connecting with the ball much harder than she had intended, nailing the other in the stomach. "Ah! I'm sorry, Crispin!" She quickly moved to him, touching his shoulder. "I'm so sorry! Are you okay?!" She asked, patting his shoulder.
The Grimm nibbled her lip some, flushing red from embarrassment for hitting him but also.. because he asked her to go on a date with him. "You.. can definitely come with is tonight... And maybe, since you asked.. you can take me out." She told him, stepping back so give him her attention. "What were you thinking?" She asked, brushing her bangs from her face.

Crispin was ready, but not for the amount of power she put into the kick. It smacked him hard, causing him to gasp as the air went out of his lungs. She was so strong, this was a damn good reminder of such. "Oof...! It's okay." He laughed sheepishly as he rubbed his stomach, before dropping the ball on the ground.
He smiled at her, despite the discomfort.
Now that he had gotten it out he wanted to go on a date with her, he didn't feel so awkward. "I would..really like that, yes please." He nodded in confirmation. Looking thoughtful, Crispin pursed his lips slightly. "The arcade to start maybe? We can grab food, I know two nice restaurants I've heard about. Um..and a movie together. Does that sound good? I know we have a couple days after classes wrap up for the semester...I've been saving up, and want to make it a nice occasion."

Lilja was glad he was alright and he forgave her. She smiled softly to him, the concern leaving her expression. She listened to his idea of a date, wondering... If he meant going that night. "Can't do the date tonight.. I have plans with Hunter and I refuse to let my big brother feel like a third wheel." She explained, "we can go tomorrow after school." She offered, "I'm fine doing whatever as long as its fun." She told him. Realistically, she had hoped it'd be a little more romantic... But maybe Crispin hadn't dated anyone before? Lilja smiled and let the thought go.

Crispin's eyes widened as his cheeks flushed slightly. "Nah! Not tonight. Besides. I need to figure out what a nice date place to take you is... I've never been on a date, but I want to make sure it's really nice." He rubbed his neck as he smiled at her. Crispin looked at her with understanding. "I dont want your brother to feel that way either. We can hang together." Crispin pursed his lips in consideration. The game was soon. Crispin felt his heart thud as he looked at his friend. Grinning Crispin felt relieved. "Hey. You ready for some more practice? Game time soon." Crispin grinned.

Lilja flushed some when Crispin mentioned that he really hadn't been on a date before and that he needed time to think of a nice place to take her. "I'm flattered and look forward to what you pick for us to do. You could always ask your pack for help... They are always there to help, right?" She smiled to him, taking some steps back. "Go on, bring it!" Lilja laughed, pumped for her game. She'd been on dates before but she didn't really connect with any of them. She hoped Crispin was better... Then again, she already knew him so well.

Crispin listened to her as he looked a tad sheepish...but glad he was able to just be honest with her. He could generally any other time. So why should that be any different now. "That is a great idea! I'll ask the pack for some advice." He grinned the stress seemed less suddenly as he considered that option.
Dropping into a playful stance, his tail swished excited to get into the game with his friend. Dashing in a quick step, he tapped the ball passing her it as he watched closely. He would have to make it something nice... it wasn't just then going to hang out and have fun. This was a date! Crispin would come up with something romantic... for now, hanging out with her and getting pumped for the game was the focus.

Lilja smiled, catching the ball with her feet and moving to get past Crispin then passing it back to him. "Packs are good for everything! It's why I care about Hunter... He's my packmate... My big brother essentially!" She explained, waiting to get the ball back then passing it back to Crispin. "Are you ready for the game? I know it isn't baseball but I hope you try your hardest! There is rumor of talent scouts and I wanna get my chance!" She told him, kicking the ball back and smiling brightly. She felt excited and pumped. It wasn't everyday someone asked you on a date AND talent scouts were scoping out talent!

Crispin looked at her curiously. "Yea brothers are the best. They are your friends for life. I'm glad he is such a good brother to you!" He felt better now. Of course, she lived with her brother and packmate.
"Heck yea! I woke up ready. What really...?!" He looked surprised. "Baseball or not I'll bring my A game anyway." He felt a rush of excitement. Even if he didn't get picked... it was a pretty cool experience. He passed the ball back quickly as he trotted to another angel to test her reflexes in a playful manner.
