Watching Ally Argent was a weekly routine. Practice his violin routines, do some research for videos, edit clips he had, get the bell alert that Ally Argent uploaded, grab a bite to eat and a tea refill, click play.
Along with his own small-time channel on YouTube, Works of Angell, Cabhan had long since been an avid follower of a handful of other, far more influential and inspirational Youtubers. The bright Ally was a definite contender among those, someone Cabhan was excited to see grow and develop into an even bigger performer. She was just... fun! Her topics were always funny or otherwise engaging, but well. For avid fans who followed her videos, her Tweets, everything... there were little changes here and there.
It's the hushed thing on more private sections of fan forums and group chats. No one really saw the sailor around with the siren much any more.
"Do you think they broke up???"
"omg is she ok???"
"idk what you guys are concerned about she looks AWESOME"
"Yeah that's true!! Did you see the outfit she wore in the last video?? :hearteyes: Omggggg it was SO FAB and I totally had to buy that lipstick it just looked :.ok_hand: :.ok_hand: :.ok_hand:"
No one really wanted to actually ask her, unless they were someone without much tact or sense considering that's way too rude to intrude on someone's life like that.
"So let's talk about trauma."
"Oh s**t," Cabhan sputtered as he coughed over the bit of tea he choked on the bombs Ally Argent was beginning to drop in her newest video. She was real in it, and he ignored his food and drink in favour of staring at the screen, taking in her expressions, body language -- sure it was not a perfect way in this environment to get a full read on the performer, but the hurt was there.
"Oh jeeze, girl..." His chin slumped in his palm, clicking his tongue and making a sound of slight distress and concern as she went into some of the details of what was going on with her. Pretending it didn't affect her...
Picking up his phone, he was aware of how comments on her video were already blowing up, same with Tweets in response to her video. Support, love, sympathy... of course, Cabhan threw his in as well.
It felt a little weird, in part, and he had to make sure he was sending the messages from his personal account instead of the Works of Angell one.

He stared at the DM after he sent it, unsure if it was too much or what. Considering how many messages she was getting lately well, he didn't think for a second he'd get a response, but hoped it added to brighten up her day.

Jade had expected a large response from her fanbase when her video was posted on it's usual day but a little later than the usual time. It wasn't a very typical video for her, compromising of things that people normally didn't talk about and often chose to keep private, especially if they were a public figure like she was, but she needed to talk about something and she wasn't about to publicly discuss her break up any time soon.
In a way that mimicked the video after she'd been attacked and she had first spoken out in a pro-'vigilante'-- as the public seemed to like calling the Negaverse -- manner, her latest video was about starting to unpack a lot of the things she had dealt with over the last year or longer.
She didn't care that Mr. Renegade would likely flip his lid at her for publishing something like this, a video that threatened to make him and the company she stood as the face of look bad, because he was going to be dealt with soon enough. Everything was going to get dealt with and she needed to flex her coping mechanisms where she could.
This involved checking on the mentions that kept lighting up her work phone and the various attempts at fans reaching out to her and she scrolled through the DMs before clicking a random one.
The concern was sweet and while there were at least a dozen other messages that were similar, Jade opted to respond to this one.

He'd sent the message, and had gone back to his usual life, just happy to have sent a message that likely would be joined by thousands of others. She was awesome for posting the video, for being that open with her fans, that was that. He was aware she was for the 'vigilantes' and was thrilled that one of his fave YouTubers was pro-Negaverse. How sweet was that?
That he had the fortune of being one of the randomly selected ones to get a response?
"Ohmygod. Nuh-uh." He stared at the notification. Ally Argent says . . . Cabhan's spine stiffened, eyes wide and fingers curled tight around his phone and he re-read the note a dozen times. She probably had it copy-pasted for a bunch of people, but even if she did? That still took time. That still meant actually reading stuff and-- "Ohmygod, Cass!" He was gleeing like a dork and grinning ridiculously wide but ohmygod. Wait, was Cass even home? s**t. He'd text her later.
Debating if it was even proper to respond to the message, he hesitated a few moments before anxiously tapping in a response-- then deleting. Trying again. Deleting. Oh my god why was this so hard. Writing was what he did best. Sort of. Oh god.
Ok he was lucky if Cass wasn't there to see him acting like such an idiot.

It got longer than he thought it would be, and Cabhan finally just hit send because he wasn't sure what else he could write or say and... well. She was an awesome person, who dealt with horrible s**t, and was having to deal with a lot to likely get out the other end. It wasn't good, wasn't pretty, but it also told others... they weren't alone. So... that was also pretty amazing.

Scrolling through her phone, swiping left more often than she swiped right, Jade hadn't been expecting to get a second message from one of her twitter followers but the notification popped up and she hesitated before lifting her thumb to tap on it.
The boy was an eager one, clearly a devoted follower and she was touched by that alone.
Normally she'd only respond once, but she was looking for a bit of a distraction while she swiped through tinder, and she figured it couldn't hurt.

Maybe it wasn't the best practice to invite internet strangers to her place of work, but it came with the job and he was being supportive. What was the point of communicating with fans if she didn't give them the chance to meet her?

Ok it was really for the better if Cass wasn't there because the sound he made after he got another response from Ally was ridiculous and the energetic youth was out of his chair pacing and grinning and talking to himself.
"Is she for real? Oh man, is it actually weird if I accept? I don't want to be a creep. But she did offer. Probably without expecting I'd actually be in the city, though." The debate went on for a while, anxious and excited but without any interest in offending. There was, of course, the part of him that couldn't help but wonder if he'd be able to use the chance to learn more to better his own channel.

Maybe he did need Cass around to tell him if he was being too much or not. Still, it was sent, and he laughed, his day all the brighter for the unusual conversation. Even if nothing came of it, it was still a fun random encounter, no?

Her phone dinged several times. One of the notifications was twitter, the sweet boy who'd messaged her responding and the others a string of tinder messages from a guy she'd just swiped right on.
Cabhan's DM had to wait as she arranged to meet up with tinder guy at one of her preferred clubs but she got one last message out to him before she was grabbing shoes and her bag and heading out her apartment door.
