"Because you still must be able to stand on your own Nitratine." His voice was harsh as he straightened himself up. He was still tired, drained, but wasn't going to let that get in the way of making sure both Nitratine and Cornetite knew the rules and were both willing to follow them. Tourmaline would have been better to have this conversation with them but she wasn't there, she was busy with her own things.
Uvarovite picked up the energy orb off his desk, eying it for a moment before he popped the small ball in his mouth, crystalline structure crunching like it was candy. He hated using the orbs for himself rather than his research but if he was going to get through this without losing his temper entirely he needed the extra energy.
"Cornetite, I know you have reservations about how young some of them are. You
have to get over that if you are going to go anywhere in the Negaverse. There are plenty of officers just as young as they are, we have our own Senshi who are children, and some of them will be just as quick to kill us as I am them." Cornetite could not continue holding back because of his gentlemanly upbringing.
-------------------
Nitratine was tempted to snap back at the Captain, let him know that he was perfectly capable of taking care of himself but for once he bit his tongue on the first thing that came to mind. He had no proof of what he said, only proof that Uvarovie was right. He always went out with Cornetite or Mab, always had back up, they were
supposed to go out that way. But everyone else could hold their own and he was always being protected by someone.
Once he had his first flash of anger under control he straightened up. "Uvarovite, Sir. If that is the case then perhaps we should be permitted to go out on our own. If no one is with me to protect me then I will have to stand on my own."
He doubted Tourmaline would ever agree to that but at least next time Uvarovite decided to b***h at him that he was always relying on someone else he could make a point to remind him that he'd wanted to be allowed to do things on his own.
