Afton Gracey still wasn't entirely certain about how he felt in regards to all of the knight stuff. Celsus and Mag Mell were each doing their best to tutor him in the ways of the mysterious, but it all seemed to boil down to past lives and experience. From Celsus he learned that there was a chance the spirit of his ancestor would come and teach him. From Mag Mell he learned that he could very well be on his own save for the attention he got from the two elder knights. Neither option was really acceptable. The first one required spending too much time in a metal bubble under the sea with no way out save for popping back to Earth. The second... Well, he had never been too fond of the idea of being screwed over, so that sent the second option right out the door. After his run-in with the Lieutenant and the weird senshi with the strange magic that had made him ill he had started to take things a little more seriously. When he went out it was rarely without having someone else around-- Erato, Celsus, Mag Mell, or any of the others that he could convince to be his escort for the evening. He didn't like knowing that there were things he was incapable of, but that wasn't going to keep him from trying. "So... What do you say we swing by Rita's after this? I could really go for some Itallian ice."

Hartley seemed to be doing a bit better on the acceptance of super powers tan Afton as of late. He had been going out with Arsinoe and the others when he could getting whatever 'training' they could offer. It wasn't much, at leas the didn't think it was much, but he had a feeling that was because the others knew how pathetic he was. He tried to put on a brave face around Arsinoe but he had a feeling that Sumi saw right through him every time. He didn't want to be coddled but he also didn't want to be in the middle of this war either. The second option wasn't something he had a choice in. Arsinoe had made that rather clear and Hartley at least wanted to try. Which was why he was still out with Afton, Bermuda, despite what had happened previously. He could at least trust that Afton would keep him safe. He had to trust that at least and preferred at least having something familiar around him when he had the chance. "Sounds like a good idea. They should have the summer flavors out too."

Bermuda paused mid step, reaching an arm out in front of Erato to keep his companion from moving on ahead of him. His spider senses had just tingled-- an aura, that was what Mag Mell had called it. He was picking up the feel of someone or some thing else not far from them and whatever it was it hardly felt pleasant. Of course, the lack of pleasantry aside, it also did not feel overwhelmingly so which lead him to believe that whatever lie ahead it was no stronger than either he or Erato. Between the two of them they could go on and investigate, right? If worst were to come to worst than at least Erato would be able to call for back up. ------ Cornetite was only out that night to collect enough energy to claim his quota for the week. He should have been checking in on a few lighting gigs that he had orchestrated for graduations throughout the week, but he knew that responsible crews had been left behind. He trusted them to get the job done, knowing that was at least what his team had been trained for. Lighting and rigs were so much easier to deal with than s**t like this. Misdirection, subterfuge, anything that could possibly be used to draw others in and drain them. It would be so much easier if he could blend in enough in his uniform to hit up a bar as opposed to hoping that there were random strangers left unaware to assault. Fortunately for him, Cornetite had Nitratine. Nitratine was good at being bait-- not that he enjoyed using his friend as such, but... Courtland McQueen drew attention to him like flies to honey. If he could pull some sucker away from the crowd then he could drain them and the more energy for both of them to turn in.

Erato bumped into Bermuda's arm, reaching up to catch hold of the other man's arm so he didn't trip over his own feet and frowned. Why had he stopped him? The senshi was about to ask what was going on when he picked up something. It was a strange prickling on his skin and the same thing Arsinoe had told him to watch out for. "Officers...." It didn't feel too strong but it was certainly the same sort of creepy feeling the older senshi had told him to watch out for. "We should stop them right?" He kept his voice low, not wanting to be the one to get them caught if it came down to it. ------------------------------ Courtland always appreciated his fame, and always appreciated that he had a pretty face, but never so much as when he needed to use it. Uvarovite's tactic of looking in bars and clubs for pretty faces was a good one and one he had no problem stealing. It meant he had to work less to get what he needed and it meant he could, in theory, talk to more people about his brand. Getting out and 'mingling' was a good way to make sure his fans still knew he was human. It was also good knowing he had Cornetite with him. He always picked higher end bars where he would be safer but having Cornetite watching him made him worry less about picking up the wrong type of person. This time he had managed to lure a couple that were looking for an 'extra' for the night. It was easy enough to lure them outside with the promise that they could talk easier outside where it was quieter.

"Officers and most likely up to no good." He nodded, affirming Erato's statement with his gesture. He did not like the idea of bringing Erato anywhere near an officer of the Negaverse, but if there were more than one he did knew that he didn't stand much of a chance on his own. Without being able to reach out to anyone but Mag Mell that was a risk he couldn't afford to take, which meant he had to proceed with the Senshi of the Glade by his side. "Let's give 'em hell... And I meant it about the Rita's." He nudged his friend gently before following the feel of the aura which didn't take long to turn into two. ------ "For ******** sake. You had them convinced you were going to follow them home for a threesome?" Lieutenant Cornetite snorted as he dropped the male of the couple to the ground. He could have been nicer about it, sure, but he wasn't. The nicest that he was about the whole thing was in leaving the jerk's starseed in his chest as he lie on the ground, drained of energy. "Got enough out of her to cover quota for the night? One more set and that should cover us for the week." Anything they could do to get ahead would mean less time they had to spend powered up or lingering in the Underground... In theory.

"When are officers ever up to any good?" He muttered, shaking his head slightly. He'd yet to run into any of them that were. Sure he knew they could do something good, Mag Mell had been an officer once, but all of the other ones he'd met or heard stories about were awful. He would have much preferred to have Arsinoe around, or even Sumi, but at least if they got into any trouble he could call the other senshi. Arsinoe had promised that he'd come if he ever sent him an sos. "We're going to need Rita's after all of this." -------------------------------- "It got two of them out here at once didn't it?" He was a bit nicer as he let go of the girl, letting her slump to the ground as he tucked the energy orb into a pocket. "Or did you want me to have to lure four more people out here individually?" Nitratine knew the answer to that but if Cornetite was going to be an a** about things then he was going to snip right back at him. It wasn't his fault he made better bait than his friend. Either way he was going to need something better than wine when he got home to get rid of the feeling of some of the assholes hands on him. Something he was not going to tell Cornetite about. "One more set if I can get some more out here. Might have to change bars for that one." Someone was going to notice he kept coming in and out with couples and that would be a social media nightmare he didn't need.

"Don't you think the two of you have done enough for the night?" He chimed into the conversation that the two Negaverse agents were having, relatively relieved that they were indeed both Lieutenants as he'd thought. It wasn't a relief that one was a bit on the bulky side, thought... Or that the two matched vague descriptions they'd been given about agents present during a large fight the rest of their team had been in recently. "Luck's run out, boys. It's time to get lost." ------ Whatever response he might have had for his friend was cut short by a rather rude interruption. Points against him involved the irritating notion that he had not noticed another aura approaching, let alone two. His emotions seemed to get in the way of that bit of common sense and he made note to find a way to subdue any feelings he had about methods of luring victims out in the future. His eyes narrowed as he tucked his own energy orb away, summoning his weapon to his hand. "Look, kid, you should probably take your own advice. This isn't a fight you want to get yourself into-- you or your ghost of a friend. If you were responsible you'd take him home and forget you were ever out here."

Erato stayed a bit behind Bermuda when his friend confronted the two officers and tried not to think too hard about how he always seemed to hide behind the other man. He knew it wasn't right but he always felt safer when Bermuda was between him and whatever was happening. Even so the dismissive tone the officer had about him prodded the one little bit of spine he had and he frowned, stepping up slightly more in line with his friend. "We can't forget we are out here and we can't let you keep hurting people." Despite his fear he knew stopping the two was the right thing to do. --------------------- Nitratine rolled his eyes as he heard a voice that didn't belong to either of them and the feeling of two Order aura's finally registered. He summoned his weapon as he turned around, taking in the two who'd come to stop them. "Can't you pests ever mind your own business?" Nitratine could understand why Uvarovite didn't have any issue killing the senshi and knights. They were annoying and got in the way. How did some of these kids even get into all of this mess? The senshi of the pair looked he belonged in some fluffy spring time picture rather than behind a bar in the middle of the night.

"Well, Nit, since neither of these fools seem inclined to back down, why don't we just claim the rest of our quota from them? Bet there's a lot more energy in a senshi and a page than there are in any two-bits that could be picked up inside of a bar anyways." He began to twirl his poi, hoping to intimidate the two young men enough that he wouldn't have to actually hurt either of them. He understood how important it was to take down the opposition, but he still found it objectionable to fight against what amounted to children when compared to himself, especially when neither of them had thrown the first punch. ------ Bermuda called his weapon to his hand, popping the spyglass open before giving it a twirl before glancing over to Erato. "Remember what we've been practicing?" In part of their 'training' they had worked out the best way for Erato to use his magic when confronted with Negaverse agents. Erato's attack could serve as a distraction well enough that he might be able to make one of the two, if not both, regret their stupid choices.

"You know the Captain would be ecstatic if we could bring him back a starseed as well. He's been complaining he needs more for whatever it is he's working on." And a starseed from either a senshi or a knight would be so much more powerful than the ones out of civilians. Plus it would mean one less of the vermin running around to bother them later. Nitratine knew Cornetite would be a bit disinclined to agree, they were just kids, but maybe the threat would make the two goody-too-shoes regret their decision to mess with them. --------------------------------- "Right.." he nodded. They had been training on how to work better together. Both Mag Mell and Arsinoe had been firm on it since the two of them wanted to be able to patrol together. Bermuda was better at offense than he was as well and if he could support his friend he would. It was easier to keep them both safe. Erato closed his eyes for a moment before calling out his magic. "Dryad's Vengance!" There was a slight breeze before his magic filled the alley around them, leaves swirling up in the air and hopefully giving Bermuda enough of a distraction to make them officers go away. "We were sent out to gather energy, not starseeds. If he wants those he can come and collect them himself." Cornetite snorted as he drew out his communication device, flipping the pen open to record and send a message to Uvarovite. "Captain Uvarovite-- base senshi and page fresh for the harvest at our location if you and Pet would like to come play." He finished his message just in time for the senshi's attack to swirl up around them like a flutter of feathers. He cursed, swatting them away-- attempting to, at least. In the process he gave his poi a better swing, throwing them at the senshi. ------ "I don't think so." Bermuda struck out with his spyglass, using it to bat the poi away before they could hit Erato. He was getting better at knocking things away from his friend, at the very least, but it would be so much easier if he had something more effective to fight back with. "Really going to have to look into those martial arts classes again. Playing Street Fighter isn't cutting it anymore, Erato."

Nitratine almost asked how letting Uvarvotie kill the senshi and the knight was any different than them doing it themselves but figured that wouldn't go anywhere. Cornetite was already in a snippy mood and prodding that wasn't going to do any good. "You two should have run when you had the chance." He laughed softly knowing at least that Uvarovite wasn't likely to ignore that message. ------------------------- Erato winced slightly as the poi came at him despite the fact that Bermuda batted them away from him. He still didn't like this whole 'fighting' thing no matter how much it happened. This was why he didn't like sports. They hurt. "Thanks." He murmured softly hoping only Bermuda would hear. before continuing. "Move combo's dont quite work the same in real life." No matter how much some of those felt like a video game sometimes. ------------------------- Uvarovite had been working on updating the database when he got Cornetite's message and smirked. He needed a couple more starseeds so if the lieutenant had found some he could give him a few more points. Cornetite was getting good at that despite his reservations. The younger man would eventually get over that and he would make a perfect addition to Tourmaline's team. If he could just get over the idea of hurting 'children'. Picking up his hat he teleported to the location where he could feel both Cornetite and Nitratine. Once he was settled on the street he looked at where the Page and Senshi were standing. "Congratulations Cornetite, they are just what I need to finish off my experiment." He set a hand on Corneitte's shoulder for a moment as he stepped up next to him.

"H-- Erato, I think it's time to call for back up. Run!" He shouted to his friend as he nudged him back the moment a third Negaverse agent arrived on the scene. They might have been able to fumble their way through fighting against two Lieutenants, but this third guy... There was a strength to his aura and while it wasn't overwhelming it remained threatening enough that Bermuda didn't want either of them in the immediate area. He also didn't like the idea of having his starseed 'harvested'. That was a Nope with a capital N. If they could just keep enough distance between themselves and the officers.... What was it Mag Mell had said? Agents could teleport, but it took energy to do so. The Lieutenants would have to rely on their feet while the new guy, the Captain he assumed, would only be able to bounce around so much. He waited until Erato started to run before taking off himself, keeping himself between his friend and the bad guys. He just needed to keep Erato out of range long enough for his friend to sound the alarm for help while praying that help was somewhere actually nearby. ------ He wasn't pleased with the praise as others might have been, although he accepted it with a vague nod of the head. Whatever satisfaction there might have been in the long run was short-lived. The page was quick to react, the senshi stumbling on ahead of him. "Oh, no you don't." His eyes narrowed as he began to spin his poi again, getting enough momentum in the spin before sending them flying at the page's feet. He didn't want to see the kid die, but he also didn't want to take the fall for letting him get away.

Erato stumbled a bit as Bermuda nudged him, feet not working for a moment as the Captain appeared on scene. He managed to get his feet under him with out falling on his face but it was a close thing. Arsinoe had warned him about a few specific Negaverse officers and that one looked like the captain the older senshi had mentioned. The only thing missing was the monster that was usually with him. As they ran he called his phone out of subspace, flipping it open and pressing the button to send a message to Arsinoe. "I need your help! Three officers. Please hurry." ------------------------------------- . Nitratine curse as the two took off running knowing his weapon wouldn't be any good at stopping either of them. They should have subdued the two kids before Uvarovite arrived. The Captain was likely to lecture the two of them about that if they had to chase them too long. He did take off running after them though knowing that standing around would get him a worse lecture. "Pinky is calling back up!" He called out to the others. They'd have to deal with them before whatever that back up was arrived. ------------------------------------- Uvarovite shook his head as the senshi and knight took off running. Cornetite and Nitratine at least quickly took off in pursuit and since they were older, taller, had a good chance of catching them. Had it been any other night he might have let them continue without interfering. Both of the Lieutenants needed to learn to be a little less nice to the people they were draining. Despite the young age the knights and senshi needed to be dealt with. Letting them continue to scurry around wrecking the Negaverse plans wasn't acceptable. Cornetite was going to have to learn that lesson. "Pet! You're dinner is getting away" Uvarovite felt the slight rumble before his youma clawed it's way out of the ground in front of the two escaping order vermin. They weren't likely to get away now.

The poi struck his ankle, tangling up in his feet as he tripped over one of the glowing balls . His heart stopped as his palms hit the ground, body skidding across the asphalt with the momentum of his stumble. He tried to scramble to his feet, but the strong attached to the poi kept him tangled, leaving him to turn and claw frantically at it in an attempt to free himself. He hoped that Erato hadn't heard him fall. He hoped that Erato didn't turn back to try and help him. He didn't want the Senshi of the Glade involved in any of this any more than his friend wanted to fight. He just wanted him to keep running. ------ "One down." He muttered as he caught up to the page, giving him a swift kick in the side to make sure he wasn't going to get away. "It'll hurt less in the long run if you just stay put. Maybe if you're lucky you'll wind up as one of us instead of having your seed yanked... Quit squirming, kid. Just call your friend back here."
