This time she'd granted him the space he needed to conduct his experiments without her interference, lending her the hands of their lieutenants when she was not in need of them. She requested only that they keep her appraised of Uvarovite's well-being. If he was pushing himself too far, edging too close to the edge of sanity, she wanted to be made aware of it. She needed to know that she could still draw him back from whatever it was he was up to.
Two days into the experiments, nearing on the third, Tourmaline made a trip down to Uvarovite's office. The door had been left ajar and she took that as an invitation over knocking, making her way over to the desk where her lover sat reading over notes, flipping between pages of scribbled information to compare data. It would need to be entered into his system later, some of it filed as reports for the higher-ups to read while others disappeared into his private research folder that she made a point to ask nothing about.
Tourmaline reached out once she was by his side, gently resting her fingers on his arm. "You'll look on this better with a clear head in the morning... Come with me?"
