Kean sighed a bit as he waited for his group project partner to come. It was another demon in his class, Maeva, and they had been randomly assigned together. Of course Kean had balked at the idea of a group project, mostly because he knew how bad he himself could be when it came to assignments, but also that they didn't even get to choose who they worked with! And for all he knew, this demon would want to do the project on something really boring. He slumped on the couch a bit more, using his mouth to blow some hair out of his face. He really didn't like to be kept waiting. He had stuff to do! Stuff that wasn't waiting here to discuss the evil group project. Like taking a nap! Or going out and getting some fresh air, something. He sighed as he rolled over a bit, waiting for his group project partner to appear. Hopefully they wouldn't be too much longer. He was starting to get hungry!

Maeva, arms full of notebooks, hair sticking every which way and legs working as fast as they could, couldn't believe she'd forgotten about this meeting. When the teacher had proclaimed the group project and began to pair them up, she'd hoped that she'd at least get someone she knew. Kean, at least she was pretty sure his name was Kean, was a complete stranger. They were in the same class with one another but she hadn't paid him any attention. He'd just been another of the nameless masses until today. She'd managed to convince him to work on the project some today and they'd set up a meeting place, but she'd gotten all turned around and ended up halfway across the school. The older senior who'd redirected her had completely messed up her hair and she'd been so focused on getting away from them that she hadn't taken a few moments to fix it.
Spotting Kean on the couch, she put on another burst of speed to not keep him waiting any longer, mouth already open to apologize. "I'm so sorry. I got held up after class and then I got all turned around on where we were meeting up and my bag ripped halfway here, but that's no excuse and I'm so sorry to keep you waiting!" Setting down her armful of notebooks, a handful of pencils rolled off the table and she let out a heartfelt sigh as she bent to pick them up again. It really hadn't been her day today.Words: 254SSBrosB Sorry, I actually hadn't opened up gaia before this <3

Kean had felt himself starting to fall asleep, but before his eyes could fully close, he could suddenly see his project partner coming toward him. He was a bit disappointed that he couldn't get a nap in, but got up and stretched a bit anyway. It seemed that the other was in a hurry. Kean didn't really know anything about her, but she looked like she felt guilty about being late. He lazily waved a hand at her. "It's fine. I got to relax for a bit anyway." He replied, giving her a half-smile. It was the truth anyway. Before anything else could be done however, Maeva set what she had been carrying down, and caused a few pencils to roll off because of it. He bent down to help her pick them up and set them on the table. "Well, it looks like you have a lot with you already. We might just be able to get it done today!" Well of course they wouldn't, but he was always an optimist. And it really did look like Maeva had brought everything that they needed.

"Thank you," she said, gathering up a couple of the pencils that he'd missed. "I tried to think of everything we would need to have, not that I could really know for sure without us having decided what the specifications of the project were going to be, but I did my best." Maeva gave him a smile in return. She'd grabbed a little bit of everything that she'd used in recent projects just in case they needed them for this one. "Ok Kean, what were your ideas for this project again?" The actual assignment was to learn a bit about one another and then present what they'd learned to the class. The groups had been allowed to pick how they were going to present the information, whether it was a speech, a powerpoint, brochures, and what exactly information they wanted aside from the basics. Aside from setting up the meeting, neither of them had been able to decide on what they wanted to do. Maeva set all her pencils down, arranging them to her liking as she took a seat beside him, careful of their tails.

And this is the part where Kean always got stuck. He could come up with ideas for artsy things. Give him an idea for a painting or a book or taking a photograph, but school presentations? Blech. He thought, really not wanting to do this project as he had remembered what they were supposed to be doing. He mulled it in his head a little bit. "Well, we could do a large poster for ours and then just point to pictures of us/things that we learned about the other. Either that or make it like a gameshow maybe? Sorry, I'm kind of terrible at this. But if you need me to help make the actual presentation, I can help you with that!" He said, looking a bit guilty at not being able to contribute as much. "I mean if we have to learn about each other, it might be good to make notes first... either ask the other questions or just write down things about ourselves that we would be okay with presenting to our classmates?" Not that he had a lot to hide, but everyone had their secrets! He sighed, feeling his back bend as he slouched a bit more on the couch.

Maeva pulled a notebook closer to scribble down his ideas in. "Well. . .a poster would be. . nice," she tried to sound as if she actually was considering it, even though a poster was probably one of the most used ways to do this, right after speech. Taking a quick breath, the second idea he had suggested sounded pretty cool. "A game show would be pretty interesting. We could set it up as a slideshow of sorts? Maybe something like Jeopardy? And we could have a couple categories about one another or something, and then we could "pick" the category at random and move to the next slide?" That actually sounded pretty fun. It would probably be a little more realistic if they had another couple nightmares in the group for this, but just the two of them would be easier to handle.
"I was looking around online between classes to see what sort of questions we could ask one another. We can get a good couple handfuls of questions and then figure out what categories we want to put them in when we're done." Maeva slid her hand into her pocket and pulled out her phone, opening up a couple bookmarked pages. Then she realized she was deciding everything on her own and paused, lowering her hand and turning her attention to Kean. "Oh. .sorry," she gave him a sheepish look, "That is, we can do something like that if you want to too? I didn't mean to just take over like that."

Kean grinned. Well at least he had contributed an idea to the project! "Honestly if you have a 'game show' you'd like to use more, then we can do that. I don't have a particular style that I really want to do." He had just been throwing out suggestions, and was happy that one worked. He waved his hand at her, showing that he was perfectly fine with what she was doing. "Whatever you want is fine. If you have anything particular in mind, then we can do that and I'll just follow your lead, okay?" He wasn't very leader-ish. He grabbed his own phone to copy the links that she had book-marked. "Do you want to ask questions about each other now? Or do you think that answering these questions and sending the answers to each other would be better?" He didn't care either way. If they got the answers done right now, then the project could be completed pretty soon, but if they just wanted to email each other, then he could at least do it while relaxing in his dorm room.

"Oh, perfect," Maeva gave Kean a relieved smile. Sometimes she just got so wrapped up in planning everything that she forgot to include other people's opinions while she was doing it. At least he wasn't upset that she'd kind of taken his idea and ran with it. How could she not have though, it just sounded so interesting. She could probably look online to get some pointers and then there were a few sites the school recommended, she would see if any of them worked for the sort of project they were planning. With luck, one would work and they could easily just insert the information. Then all they would have to do is practice going through the show to make sure they both could go through the 'game' easily.
"I'll look around after I've gone back to my dorm. I left my laptop there on accident." She'd been mortified that she'd forgotten it, but considering everything that had happened she was just glad it hadn't been caught in the fiasco. "We should go ahead and ask questions now. That way we don't end up with two different lists of questions and we can figure out which ones work the best or are the most interesting." After he'd copied the links, she took her phone back and set it down, pulling out a notebook and pen instead. Turning to a clean sheet, she wrote down number one, lightly circling it.
"We can start with some basics that we already know, like name, race, heights, houses, stuff like that. Then we can look through the sites and write down some of our favorites from them? Does that sound good to you?" Maeva had already carefully penned their names and races down, but she looked up at him to double check. Honestly she was pretty glad he seemed interested in getting a good grade like she was. Most of the time she got paired with someone who couldn't be bothered to show up to their meetings or contribute anything if they did. Even if she liked studying and wanted to do good in school, she didn't want to have to do all the work for partner projects!

Kean only slightly pouted when she mentioned forgetting her laptop. He didn't have his with him either. It sucked, but they would have to write everything down by hand. He shook his head, of course the both of them would forget that and gave her a thumbs up when she asked about finding some questions from some sites. "Sounds good to me. I don't think it will have to be too long. We might even be able to quiz some of our other classmates in the end. Get a bag of candy to encourage them." He said laughing a bit. They may have been juniors, but there would practically be a riot if there was free candy out and about. While Maeva got started, Kean started to look up some questions on the internet. Some of results were wildly inappropriate and he rolled his eyes, but eventually he found some that he liked. "All right, let's get this project done so we can relax!" He said, starting to write down the questions he had looked up. He was eager to get this done too, he had napping to do! Random Nobody 13 last post from me! Thanks so much!

Maeva glanced up from her writing and caught sight of Kean's pout. Oh, that was. . .kinda cute. Her cheeks warmed a bit at the thought and she quickly glanced back down. "Yeah, you're right. The teacher didn't give us a set list, so we should be able to pick a decent amount." She nodded at his idea. That would be a good way to get the rest of the class to actually pay attention. She snorted a bit. Even if they had to bribe them a bit.
"Plus if there's any left over, we can split it." Maeva grinned at him. "You can decide what kind, I'm not terribly picky and my sister says I have horrid taste." It was only fair to warn him. Though compared to the candies her sister picked out, she disagreed.
Finishing filling out the basics with what she knew of Kean, she set her pen down to pick her phone back up and glance through the lists. Several of the questions had her blushing, what were they even doing in here and how hadn't she noticed them in her first glance through. But there were also plenty of really good ones that she'd never have thought of on her own.
The next hour was spent going back and forth, finding questions, answering the good ones, and getting a rough sort done with the sorts of categories they wanted to use. (Maeva's suggestions were far tamer than the ones Kean was throwing at her.) By the time they were ready to call it quits, Maeva was more than pleased to agree to meeting up again at a later date to finish this. Clutching her notebooks and textbooks to her chest, she was even willing to admit that Kean was maybe more than a little attractive. All in all, the time had flown by and more than made up for the horrid incidents she'd had on the way to the meeting.
