Profile:Gruff in attitude, Ryuuji wasn't always like this. Abandoned as an infant, he was taken in by a Kumiho/Imp couple. Growing up with his adopted mother & father, Ryuuji was a happy & bright child, taking lessons in the art of the sword with his Kumiho uncle/master and greatly flourishing as a prodigy. But, when he was still a Freshling, his house caught fire, killing both his parents while he was at the dojo on the other side of the property for his sword lessons. Although the fire destroyed the house he lived in, Ryuuji managed to find a trunk that had been buried several feet into the floor of the house, unharmed, containing his father's sword that he now uses, some family photographs that his mother created, her calligraphy set, and an inactivated Soul Stone that had been imbued with the life force of his parents.
After that day, Ryuuji shut himself down emotionally, only letting his uncle and infant cousin Tsubaki, close to him. With them, he allowed his emotions to flow freely and loved them dearly as he continued to train & perfect his swordsmanship.
Shortly after enrolling in Asterion, his uncle passed away from illness, forcing Ryuuji to drop out in order to care for Tsubaki who had just become a Junior. In order to ensure that they did not run out of money, Ryuuji would run errands and do odd jobs (like repair work, gardening, etc.) around the village.
Ryuuji does not discriminate against anyone for their race, gender or orientation. Although he believes in the Nine and the Saints that his race follow, and has a small shrine built to pray and honor them, he believes that their complete devoutness to them has clouded their eyes to the various types and uses of magics available to everyone. He did not socialize much, if at all, putting his education and craft above anything and everyone else. The only person he could call a 'friend' is Cynthia, a Litch/Shade hybrid that had somehow wormed her way into his life. His only goal for now is to take care of/protect Tsubaki and continue her training with the battle fan.
Ryuuji likes training, moonlight flights, Tsubaki and sushi.
He dislikes large crowds, idiotic people, airheads, spicy food and fire.
In his free time, he likes to do calligraphy, cloud watch, stargaze, train and spending time with Tsubaki.
Strengths:Hardworking - When given a task or assignment, Ryuuji will work hard and long to complete it. No shortcuts, no cheats, he will take however long it will take to complete that task.
Mature - Wise beyond his years, people almost mistake him as someone older than he really is. He makes sure that the money left to them is being spent wisely and maintaining the condition of the house.
Loyal - Dropping everything, even his chance attending university, to care for his cousin, he is devoted to Tsubaki and taking care of the house and his sleeping sibling while she is at the Academy.
Honest - He rarely, if ever, lies. He speaks the truth, even though it might sound hurtful to others' ears.
Faults: Possessive - He is quite possessive of his cousin and his swordsmanship. Following his late uncle's advice, he is making sure that Tsubaki remains untouched until she becomes a Senior. Even if he has to run the boys off himself.
Short-Tempered - Despite him being mature, he is quite touchy about his origins and the circumstances of him being orphaned twice. He will also go after ANYONE who speaks ill of his late uncle and cousin.
Pefectionist - Ryuuji will often forgot/ignore his health in order to make sure that something will get done perfectly, such as food and sleep.
Stubborn - The only people he usually got along with were his uncle, cousin and Cynthia. He is a steadfast rock in a river and will not yield to go along with ideas made by simple/idiotic people.
