The moon was high in the sky, casting blue light over the city that never quite slept. Even now, half passed midnight, the city's nightlife was bustling. Cars still traveled the streets despite whispering of gang wars and monsters, headlights glowing brightly against the cool pavement. Perhaps the city had gotten used to the war it didn't really understand, and decided, collectively, to continue life as always. Kallichore appreciated it that way. War was no place for ordinary folk. Theirs was a life of graduations and new jobs, significant others or solidarity, perhaps marriage, perhaps co-habitation. They did not step foot onto warzones, nor did they know their city was a sprawling battleground. They were meant to live the way they wished to, without the burden of supernatural powers and past lives and people to protect. No, that was their mantle, whether they asked for it or not. It was this thought that lead Kallichore on her zigzagging patrol route through the downtown area. Negaverse agents were always skittering about in some capacity, though her aura seemed to drive them back. Breezing from roof to roof, business to business, the senshi had zeroed in on what must have been a Knight's signature atop a cluster of buildings with shared walls - part of Destiny City's older architecture. Boutiques and yoga studios inhabited these old halls, apartments in the floors overhead. It was here that Kallichore had stopped, observing that it was, indeed, a knight. Saturn, if she had to guess, simply based on the dark color of his coat. Just like senshi, some were more personable than others, and there was no way to tell beforehand. With a cough, upon landing on the far side of the rooftop, she introduced herself. "Good evening. I... hope I'm not a bother. I'd hoped to run into a few Knights on my patrol. My name is Kallichore. I was hoping for a few moments of your time. I've some questions to ask."

It wasn’t often that Michel went out on his own, not because he couldn’t, but because he usually went out when he was letting Malus tag along with him. Ordinarily, he wasn’t in any rush to prove himself as a Knight; he didn’t feel a burning drive to keep the city safe or to defend any one part of it. The people that were closest to him were already powered—most of them Senshi—so when he went out, like this, it was for him.
To get fresh air, to pick a fight, work out some stress if he had to.
He didn’t usually go out with an agenda, but he didn’t usually mind when company approached.
Good, or bad, it usually kept things interesting.
The presence of an Eternal Senshi—transcended—was not particularly intimidating or threatening, and at first he was content to pay her no mind. Until her signature got closer.
And closer.
And then, the unmistakable sound of someone behind him. He knew she was there before she spoke, but she hadn’t been making any effort to sneak around. He twisted his body just slightly to face her; the movement was languid, almost catlike and lazy. One hand remained on his hip and the other hung limply at his side. He regarded her with cool, half lidded eyes—not with any hostility, just a vague indifference.
“What are you looking for Knights for?”
He didn’t introduce himself, didn’t give a proper greeting. He didn’t much care for the trivial things if it wasn’t worth his time and, knowing nothing about her except that she was a Senshi with a name and questions, he wasn’t planning on jumping through any social hoops.

Kyuseisha no Hikari Derp, I've been so distracted by video games. >_>;;; Kallichore could appreciate direct questioning. This Knight seemed suspicious, and rightfully so. The senshi was undisturbed, not offended. Sweeping loose hair behind her ear and she took a step forward. "Regretfully, I know very little about Knights, and since we share a war, I decided it was time to rectify this issue. I had written a primer many years ago to assist new White Moon Senshi since we lack a real training program or centralized leadership. If you would indulge me, I have many questions for Knights to better understand them." Folding her hands before her, she continued. "I seek to understand how your signet rings function, especially since Sailor Alya has issued an app allowing cross-communication. I know your banners are planets or stars such as Polaris, but aside from those points, I'm woefully ignorant. I'd like to learn more so I can be more effective during battle. It's of no doubt it will eventually come to that. This war has been going on long enough, and... all things are cyclical." Or so she had been shown by the cosmos itself. "Your time and knowledge would be greatly appreciated."

Signet ring? What the ******** was a signet ring? Who was Alya? Banners?
Michel stared at her for a moment, processing what he could and cataloging things he apparently needed to know to look like he fit in. “All right,” he said after a moment, unable to drop the farce that he was a Knight, had always been a knight, and that he most certainly knew what he was talking about.
“I’ll do what I can, but you’ll have to be a little specific in your questions. I’m not really the type of person who can just ramble without a conversation in mind.”
He could bullshit some answers if he needed to, right? …Maybe, at the very least, he could dig up some information on what he needed to know.
…Maybe he should take a trip to his damn Wonder and see what this whole ‘Knight’ thing was all about instead of just using it to babysit Evan.
…Maybe there actually were some things he was missing out on.

Kallichore nodded once, filing things away in her mind to properly pose the questions she wished to have answers to. This Knight seemed the type of person to dislike wasting time on frivolities. "I'll be as succinct as I can. Thank you for your time." Tapping her chin, the senshi began. "From where does your signet ring originate? And how is it able to send messages? The Guardian Cats grant us our cellphones with connections to their networks when we awaken for the first time, so I'm curious to know where your ring comes from and how it operates, especially now that cross-communication is enabled. Additionally, is there any unified banner under which you operate? The cats don't seem to mentor you in any way, though if I'm incorrect in that assumption, I apologize." There was so much to ask, so much she wanted to know in order to work more closely with the only other allied faction in the war, but she mustn't waste anyone's time. "You draw your powers from a Wonder, a physical place in space. That much I'm aware of thanks to Valhalla, but I've not visited a Wonder. Do you in particular feel a connection to it? If so, could you describe it? And is there something the senshi faction could do to facilitate better cooperation with yours?" Maybe that was enough, for a start.

Oh, s**t.
Michel’s face remained impassive as he listened, but with every new question, the phrase repeated in his head. He didn’t look like he was someone who had no idea what he was talking about, so he couldn’t give it away by sounding like he had no idea.
So he was going to have to bullshit just about all of this.
Signet ring? The ******** was that? Send messages? What the ******** kind of ring could send a message? Oh, s**t.
He shifted positions and spoke with the confidence of someone whose current mental dialogue wasn’t a string of profanities.
“If there’s a unified banner, no one’s sent me an invitation. Mostly, I work alone.” Or, no, that wasn’t quite right. “In terms of Knights. I’ve got some Senshi I like to work with. But I’ve been doing my Knight bit solo. They sort of just throw you to the wolves, I figure.”
Maybe, if he’d actually awakened as a Knight, he’d have had someone to guide him. But, even now, there hadn’t been anyone to rise to the challenge. Although, all this talk about a Wonder—a Wonder he’d never been to.
He kept his arms crossed over his chest, hands tucked under his arms to hide the fact that if he was supposed to have a ring, he wasn’t wearing it.
…Heading up to this Wonder, however you were supposed to do that, sounded like something he probably should have done ages ago. If he wanted answers, it would have been wise. He’d just been so distracted with Evan, with making sure everything was together, he hadn’t really considered what else there was to being a Knight. His job was to protect the people close to him—what did he care about somewhere, anywhere, else?
“See, I don’t have an issue with the Senshi, so I don’t know what we could do to better facilitate interactions. Most of my friends are Senshi, and I’ve got at least one I’ve been looking out since he started. I suppose there’s a connection with the Wonder, a call to it.” There was, now, if curiosity counted as a calling. “But I’ve had more important things to worry about down here. I suppose I should head back up there now that things are calming down a little. Let me give you a rain check. I’ve been ignoring my wonder for a while now, but.” He shrugged. “It’s nothing personally against it, just that if I left Destiny City, I don’t know that things wouldn’t fall apart here without me.”
Anything could happen in an hour, even. He might have to see if he could take Evan and Cambria with him, just to make sure they were safe.
…Although, if his wonder wasn’t safe, he didn’t want to drag them there with him…
He shrugged. “But I’ll get you your answers on that. Just means we’ll have to meet up again, sometime. Especially on those signet rings.” Again, he didn’t imply he didn’t have one, just said, “I can’t say where they originated from, or guess how they work. Someone might, but I never got a ‘how to’ instruction manual with all that plugged in. And I’m not the sort of person to tinker with small, magical things to see how they work, so I’m afraid my information’s limited there.”
