There wasn't a single thing in Destiny City that had changed since Bill O'Keefe had left. The news reports were still riddled with disappearances, mysterious and otherwise. There were still 'terrorist sightings' throughout town, buildings and businesses damaged and people getting hurt.
What it all boiled down to was that he should have stayed away. There wasn't a damn thing that should have been able to draw him back to Destiny City unless it was kicking or screaming, and yet... And yet...
And yet here he was just strolling down the street in the nighttime hours after the bar he'd picked up a part-time tending job at had shut down. Hours on the weekdays were earlier; close came at 1am Monday through Wednesday, specials were on tap until 2am on Thursday and while 'Last Call' was at 2am Friday and Saturday, the doors didn't close until 3am for the stragglers who needed a chance to sober up before heading home.
It was Wednesday and he'd been off since Sunday. He chose to walk home instead of drive because the flat he'd found wasn't far enough from work that it was worth the gas or the price he'd pay for parking elsewhere if the bar's lot was filled with patrons. He didn't have any weapons on him; nothing to defend himself save for his own two hands, but he was large enough in stature that he didn't really think anyone was going to start anything with him in the matter of a few blocks.
From the sound of things up ahead, however, someone had decided to start something. He knew he should walk the other way, maybe turn back around to see if they needed any extra help putting dishes away or waxing the dance floor. He should get his a** right out of Dodge again.
He didn't. Bill O'Keefe, all around Good Guy continued on to investigate the sounds to see who might be in need of a rescue.

Bill rounded the corner in time to see what his brain almost instantly processed as a Victorian vampire in green reach into a young man's chest. He knew that couldn't be right and tried in vain to reassess the situation, eyes narrowing. Something wasn't right here. He should run, call the cops, yell... Something. Anything.
Instead he stood there, briefly frozen in place until something else changed in the air around him. He could suddenly sense just how wrong things were, beyond his usual 'stranger danger' awareness. More than that, he also had the feeling that he could do something about it and that was just down right stupid.
"Alright, alright. Looks like the fun is over, pal. Doesn't look like your partner here is enjoying things. Matter of fact, sure looks like consent's been revoked, and I bet you know just as well as I do that 'no' means 'no'. So why don't you make like a tree and leave." Just signed your death warrant. Pretty glad you decided to come back to DC, aren't you?

He had danced a glorious show, felt the transcendent, been carried away upon a sea of endorphines and applause, and was now using his powered guise as Aegir to try to burn off some of that nervous energy. Colin hadn't held out much hope of that, nights like these there was no getting to sleep before three. Sometimes powering up could help. So could getting in a fight, as long as one didn't lose.
Gloved fingers pressed over carotid artery as booted feet planted firm on slate rooftop; fingertips feeling for the high beat of pulse under skin and automatically counting. Still high... Aegir sighed and let himself feel for near-by auras with eyes closed - though 'near-by' was now a relative term - he was long since used to the feeling that came with Chaos and had no issues locating several sitnatures. Seven years is a long time to not know what a General feels like, or a Lieutenant, or a Corrupt senshi...
A few senshi, some lieutenants. Captains. Youma. The usual.
But then, less than usual - by one of the captain signatures, a knight's signature flared into life. Which generally meant one thing: danger. The eternal of silence could not in good conscience allow the 'event' to go uninvestigated, so he opened his eyes and headed towards a section of the city he wasn't overly familiar with. Apartments, two Starbucks, a Fedex Office, a 'package' store, some local eateries. Bars that he'd never entered as a senshi and likely wouldn't as a civilian either.
The usual things, including a Negaverse captain lording over a lifeless body and a Squire.
Some sort of discussion was going on, that much was clear. What wasn't clear was the outcome - how much of a bleeding heart was the squire? How cruel was the familiar green-clad, hatted captain? As he moved in, skirt and wings streaming behind him, the Eternal reached inside to cast his magic, "Aegir Golden Mute!"
Three golden strands of magic formed and burst from his hands, moving to encircle Uvarovite with a speed and accuracy that spoke of the many years Aegir had spent perfecting his techniques; one for the captain's free hand, and two for the hand holding the precious starseed. "Get the starseed while I've got him! It goes over the heart!" Kind of disjointed, but he could give no clearer instructions - they were in a time crunch. Aegir's magic solidified from glowing strands into glowing golden ropes, much like Wonder Woman's lasso, and settled firmly in place as he landed behind Corbenic and set his heels in.
"You! I remember you!" Not the name, no, but he definitely remembered the silver-haired Hatter that had gone after his friends. Aegir's grip on the ropes tightened. "I'm gonna enjoy kicking the s**t outta you, since you haven't learned your lesson yet."

He was in danger and that danger was very real. He didn't need whatever strange spider-sense he'd taken on with the change of costume to tell him that, even if it wasn't helping him deny the press of the threat. It felt like a shadow looming closer, like something from a movie, and all he wanted to do was yell at the fool in it to get out.
It was him. He was the fool and he was in over his head. He...
A bright flash of warmth flooded out the feeling of bad for all of two seconds as the Senshi of Silence arrived on the scene. Something about the blonde was so familiar that he wanted to start asking questions, but he knew better. Now wasn't the time for introductions, or re-introductions as it were.
Corbenic did as he was told, plucking the softly glowing crystal from the hands of the man dressed in green and black. He stepped back slowly, stumbling another step away back towards the body on the ground. He stooped to check for a pulse as he rolled the young man over, concerned to find it weak, his breaths slow. It goes over the heart! He looked at the thing in his hand, the starseed, drawn in by the glimmer and glow before he placed it over the young man's heart, surprised when it disappeared back into his chest.
"You know this guy? He seems like a real a**."

The good news was that whomever the Page was, he could take instruction and follow it. The bad news was that he seemed to recognize Aegir, which meant they'd met before...and there really weren't a lot of good reasons for him to have met a civilian while powered up. Not familiar to me at all, you'd think I'd remember...but that's glamour magic for you.
"Yep, he's a real p***k!" Aegir had no problems keeping Uvarovite pinned on his own, but the surge of a youma coming forward meant he had to let go, the glowing ropes fading between them though the silence magic would continue to mute the other man's voice and keep him from breathing for another few seconds. To avoid the youma's jaws, Aegir dove and rolled, turning back to face both master and beast with an angry expression.
"You wanna play that way, I'll drown you both!" Aegir began the process of calling up his eternal attack, drawing upon his planet's magic so he could cast more of it at the captain and his little pet.
