Kayla's love of coupons and bargains was legendary. She was on just about every mailing and e-mailing list that was possible or relevant that would notify her of sales and discounts. The weekly flyer with all the coupons didn't stand a chance against her, and she would be very precise in cutting them so as not to risk mangling them. If a sale price was marked in the grocery store, she was much more likely to buy that particular product, even if she knew a brand well. As someone who had to live on a budget and was just barely squeaking into DCU with the help of scholarships, she knew how to get bang for her buck. Somewhere in the middle of one of Destiny City's shopping districts, Kayla was peering very closely at the fine print on one of her coupons to make sure she hadn't missed something. However, that meant that she wasn't looking at what was in front of her very well...

Seren was examining her shopping basket with minute care and concentration. She wasn't walking at the moment, and instead leaned against the shelf containing some things she wanted, possibly even needed, to buy. But before she grabbed them from the shelf, she was doing the math on the prices of everything, once more, including the coupon discounts she had saved. She wanted to be sure her math had not gotten bungled along the way. No matter how much she needed more of her special shampoo and conditioner, her big indulgence, she needed the food products in the basket even more. Unwashed hair was... not pleasant. Not eating was far, far worse. Once she was sure she had the right amount of money, though, she straightened and turned. And pulled 4 bottles of each off the shelf, because Buy one Get one, limit FOUR free per person, was a damned good deal and she would definitely run out of her products before they expired."Yeeeeeeees this coupon is so good." She hissed out happily.

Kayla narrowly missed walking into a shelf when she heard someone fangirling over their coupons. She couldn't help but grin at the at the sound, and she looked up at Seren. "You too?" she asked, then added, "I mean, you've found some good deals, too?" She approached, brandishing her unusually thick stack of coupons. "What'cha bargain hunting for? ...Shampoo?" Well, the girl did have very nice hair. Long and multi-colored. That had to be expensive to upkeep, but everyone had their vices. "Hey, well, if you can get a bunch and not have to get more for a while, that works, too."

Seren glanced up, when she heard the voice of someone she didn't know commenting, then she grinned at the younger woman. She couldn't help it. A fellow bargain hunter? There was not a chance in heck she was going to not appreciate their view on the situation. "To be honest, nothing in my basket isn't either on sale or on a coupon." She patted the shampoo and conditioner with a covetous, happy smile. "And this shampoo is the BEST for my hair, and it's on bogo. Up to four free, even, which what? I've never seen it that good!" She sighed, and stretched a little, and patted her own coupon organizer that was in the baby seat part of her cart, right next to her purse. "And I'd buy it at the CostLo warehouse, when I do my monthly non-perishables stock up, but they rarely carry it. So bargain? Yes please." She nodded at the other woman's stack. "You should get an organizer. They're usually pretty cheap, and it makes it easier to find and track." She winked and patted hers. It was something she'd obviously had for a few years, because it was held together with duct tape at the corners. Cheap they may be, but she clearly wasn't going to spend money on a new one until it was needed... And duct tape was something it was always good to keep on hand at home. Just in case.

"Whooooooaaaaa." The impressed reaction was a little exaggerated, but hey, the point needed to be made! "Where are you getting your coupons from? Or better yet, show me that coupon. It sounds too good to be true. That's way too good a deal." Kayla was already trying to get a closer look at Seren's coupons, but then the organizer was pointed out. "Oh, that's a good idea. I'll definitely put that on my next list. But sometimes, there's just something satisfying about hold a big stack of coupons you clipped yourself, you know?" Now that she looked at the other woman's organizer, it definitely looked like it had seen better days. But who was she to make a crack about using something till it crumbled to dust? In this wasteful world, making things stretch was a rare and excellent skill.

Seren grinned a little and shrugged. "There's several sites you can sign up for, that will send coupons and stuff. Also, there's sites that like... You can sign up for boxes of stuff, or coupons, and then you do a review of the items, maybe post about it on social media. This came from... one of the coupon sites, I think." She glowered at it for a moment, as she tried to remember for sure. "I am pretty sure... I don't recall signing up for a box with this stuff." She blinked and laughed a little. "I mean, yeah it does kinda feel good, but at the same time, I am less likely to risk dropping something and losing it, or having them get out of order. I like organization... It... helps me deal with the level of disorganization the world insists on providing." She gave a little shrug, coming as close as she ever came to admitting to her small OCD-like issues she sometimes had.
