It was. Exhausting. The recent Threadfall had been fairly decent, R'ose had heard, minus the glaring event of a rider being lost Between. He hadn't know the woman, nor her dragon, but Sahrawith had mourned the loss sharply and as such he'd felt pain in his heart for almost a sevenday. Lessons had been taken with that hanging overhead, and thankfully R'ose could concentrate enough to pass them through and make it to their free days without any difficulty. His little dragon seemed to be doing better as well, and as they rested in a small patch of sunshine she contentedly rumbled against him. Rest was welcome.

Thankfully their rest day came on a day when the skies were clear, and so the area about them buzzed with activity from riders and dragons alike. There was a chance for people watching, which the weyrling pair did with relish. Sahrawith liked to know all the dragons around, for a reason she vaguely spoke about with a wave of her tail, and R'ose just enjoyed watching people. Some of them he knew, most he didn't, but in the end it didn't matter.

Feeling better? Sahrawith shifted her weight against R'ose as he asked, the bulk of her girth against his legs. She'd been growing like a weed over the past month, and even though she was larger it was evident she'd still be a tiny dragon. The sun feels good, doesn't it? I like this spot. She spread her wings a little, careful to miss hitting her lifemate with the action. The beautiful colors reflected well in the light.

Bayeth was a sad, sad boy. After the 'fall had finished and he'd been treated for scores - nothing terrible, nothing unexpected, although the healing process was never a pleasant one regardless - he had gone back to his ledge and bayed his heart out for poor Zurath and Hers, and most evenings since had laid on his ledge and creeled. Loss was a terrible, wretched thing, and although it was an unavoidable fact of life with the return of Thread, it never hurt any less, and the worry - the knowledge - that there would be more losses, more and more and more, was salt in a wound.

But His was there for him, bolstering him when he needed it and reminding him of the need to go on, and as the days passed, there was less and less of the overt sadness. The creels were replaced with sighs, and life, wrong as it seemed, went on. Today had bern a scrub-and-oil day, and that soothing routine had helped a little. Now he was ready to sprawl out and dry, but...but there was a little baby green in his favorite spot.

Oh.

Well.

That was fine.

The pudgy blue toddled some distance to the side, well away so that she wouldn't be crowded or have to bother with him at all, and flopped down with a deep sigh.

Sahrawith had been carefully dozing in and out on R'ose's legs, her massive head resting on his lap as though it was and always would be her personal pillow. Her rider, to his credit, didn't mention the fact his legs were numb and falling asleep and instead was content to let her rest. The pair remained in silence and sunshine until the arrival of someone new, and the baby green lifted her head in surprise at the newcomer. A massive (in both size and girth) blue had her sudden and complete attention, eyes whirling blue in excitement and interest.

"It looks like we're in his spot, Sawi." R'ose placed a hand atop his dragonet's snout, softly using his fingertips to trace patterns on her hide. "Should we move and let him sleep here, or...?" He knew what the answer was going to be long before the question left his lips, and he smiled as his little girl got to her feet. Her gaze was still toward the blue, and he could feel the curiosity over him practically echoing through her body. "Go on, I'll be right here."

As if I really need your permission. The little green's haughty remark prompted a snicker, and she pulled her wings tightly to her frame as she started a slow walk towards the massive blue. She could see his body was shining - had he been freshly washed? - and from the tone of that loud sigh it was clear he was unhappy. The dragonet did not appreciate one of those two things and so she naturally felt it was her duty to intrude on his private moments, especially after taking his spot in the sun. Are you okay? That was a really loud sigh.

Entirely aware (thanks to R'ose's reminding) that she was likely the cause of his sighing, Sahrawith approached the conversation with all the tact of a wher.

Once he had thrown himself down into his dramatic heap, Bayeth had shut his eyes and expelled yet another, albeit smaller, sigh, and intended to quite tune out the world. This was not his favorite spot, but it was still a spot, and since it was a baby in his, he could hardly be resentful. Not that he would have been even if it had been an adult dragon, as he was hardly one to feel entitled to much of anything. No, if someone else was happy in that spot, they should have it and be happy, and he would be fine in this one. Just fine, yes, perfectly fine-

Oh. Someone was talking to him? Heavy lids lifted just enough for him to peer out and deduce that it was the baby green, who had moved and come over here for some reason. He really couldn't imagine why she would bother with him, although it was nice. He did like company. Was it? I am sorry if it bothered you. I am fine, baby green, he answered in tones that were tired, but not unfriendly.
