xxxWhile Shimauma and Midorimaru were napping on their respective pillows, Fuwa was scribbling down her signature on some paperwork that needed to be filed. Admittedly, it's not her favorite pastime, but at least the productivity made her feel accomplished. Unfortunately, that feeling of fulfillment came at the expense of a possibly-eventful day. It was so beautiful outside, and Fuwa was still stuck cleaning up a mess left behind an entire year ago. The previous Hokage not only left his prestige behind, but also his uncompleted work.
"It's not like I'm upset doing the things that a kage SHOULD do, it's the circumstances behind these tasks that make it so..." She moved a written sheet of paper to the side, and began to sign the next one.
"Tragic." She had accidentally stirred Midorimaru from his sleep, who looked rather adorable as he fluttered his emerald eyes open and stared sheepishly at his friend.
"Oh, sorry Midori, I'll keep quiet," the woman's words did not seem to matter to the large dog. A little after Fuwa apologized, Midorimaru had begun to walk to the kage's desk and assume his usual spot: It was a swivel chair specifically designed for dogs. He would climb on with ease and begin to spin around, all while staring intently at his two-legged friend.
"Well, since you're here, you can help me out with this paperwork," the young kage mumbled as she poured some ink onto a saucer, and slid it over to Midori.
"Just stamp those papers with your paw, and we'll get this done sooner... Sounds like a deal?" She figured that since Midorimaru was practically her other half, signing papers with his paw would be just as legitimate as Fuwa signing them herself.
After shaking hands to solidify their deal, Fuwa and Midorimaru would begin to sign each document with a black ink pen and a inky paw.
"Don't worry, the ink is non-toxic and washable; your paws will remain eternally soft and pink, I solemnly swear." As the kage and her ninken continued on with their administrative duties, Shimauma remained asleep on her large pillow in the corner of the office. Once in a while she would either burp or fart, indicating to both Fuwa and Midorimaru that she was still alive.
