FINALLY! It was show time. Many fans sitting in the arena had been anticipating the match-up 6 years in the making, this being “The Rated-R Superstar” Edge against “The Icon” Sting, in a no disqualifications match set for one fall. It was clear that both men have the intention to leave it all in the ring, Edge with the purpose of settling their currently tied score, and Sting to get revenge on Edge, who had attacked the Stinger twice now, the first assault occurring immediately after their ladder match at WAR’s first and only pay-per-view, Hard Justice, and again at No Way Out, where Edge brutally decimated Sting. The Showcase of Immortals was the perfect place to end their heated rivalry, with both men fighting for honor and for pride, something that is worth more than any championship. Both men were also well known veterans, as they had been world champions before, and have had numerous accolades in pro wrestling, yet they achieved their fame in different promotions, Edge in GWE, subsequently TNWE, and Sting in CWF. Not only were their personal scores on the line, but the legacy of the company they represented was also on the line, TNWE against the old CWF.

Before both men could make their entrances, a promotional video package was shown to hype up the match, showcasing Edge and Sting’s highlights in the squared circle, with Thirty Seconds to Mars’ ‘The Kill’ being used to set the mood.

Meanwhile, while the video package was shown, a tall, long-haired blond man was in his locker room, getting ready for what was the most important showdown in his wrestling career. The Rated-R Superstar was getting ready for the match. He was almost completely done, as he was putting on his wrist tape as his wife, Beth Phoenix, would sit beside him to comfort him. “No matter what happens, Adam, give him hell”, Beth would encourage him to give it his all. ”I know you’ll steal the show, like you’ve always have” she’d continue. ”I know. I’ve been waiting for this nearly 6 years” Edge would answer, letting his wife know that he was anxious to put an end to this legendary feud once and for all. Win or lose, Edge was set on giving the crowd a show, not wanting to disappoint all the people who had spent their hard-earned cash on this event. After completely putting on his wrist tape, Edge would slide his golden locks back, taking a deep breath. ”Gotta admit, I’m kinda nervous, but I’m pretty excited too” Edge would comment to his beloved wife. ”I know you are. Ever since you were young, Adam, all you’ve wanted was to step into those ropes and prove you’re the greatest” Beth would scoot over and place her arms around Edge’s shoulders, comforting him with a hug. Edge would grin widely, knowing that his wife was always there to support him, and he’d chosen the right woman to have at his side. All of a sudden, knocking was heard. The door would open up. It was a CWF official. The official would ask the Rated-R Superstar if he were ready, which Edge would nod to. ”Good luck. I know you can do it, you’ve always showed the world that you can” Beth would motivate him once more. ”I’ll be back”, smiling, the Rated-R Superstar would give Beth a small kiss on the lips, letting her know that he’ll be back after his hard-fought, grueling match.

Following the official, Edge would start to think about his game plan, what he’d use to punish his opponent tonight. Edge would come to a conclusion; he’ll damn use his entire arsenal to bring The Icon down. Edge also realized that after peeling away all those years of pain, he’d discover what’s been all along, they were so right and he was so wrong. He knew that every shooting star, they all fell so hard, they all fade like a played out song and now was the time, before all was lost. He’d come home. Yes, he’d come home. So, he’d come home, lost on a road he didn’t belong. He rested his soul after being so alone before, being far from the streets he called his own. He’d finally come home. Finally, Edge reached the gorilla position, just moments away from making his grand entrance. Pumped, he would warm up, stretch and flicker his wrists as he waited for the announcer to call the match. In the center of the ring, CWF’s announcer would wait for the crowd to quiet down, microphone in hand.

Announcer: ”The following match-up is set for ONE FALL, with NO DISQUALIFICATIONS. Introducing first…”

”…You think you know me?

Suddenly, following that famous intro, ‘Metalingus’ by Alter Bridge would begin playing, thunderous drumming being heard throughout the arena. On this day, Edge would see clearly, everything had come to life. White smoke would rise from the mouth of the ramp as fans were anticipating Edge’s entrance, despite some hating his guts for attacking Sting, while some loyal Edgeheads thought that what he had done to the Stinger reeked of awesomeness. After a few seconds, Edge would walk through the smoke, ready to compete. The Rated-R Superstar was sporting black and red tights with red kickpads, his usual black trench coat on for his entrance. The crowd would really surprise him, not expecting that many people in those seats. Without a doubt, it was way different than before. From GWE, to TNWE, to working the indies in KANJOKU Pro, he’d never seen a crowd of the same magnitude. The arena was packed to the brim, the crowd overly excited to witness dreams come true. Flicking his wrists, Edge would walk down the entrance ramp with a certain swagger, a determined look on his face. Many emotions would be built up inside of Edge. Never had the Ultimate Opportunist felt this way concerning a single match-up. This was, without a doubt, the biggest show he’d ever compete in. Not only was it the biggest, he’d finally fight for something that meant more to him than a championship. Honor, glory and pride were all at stake here, never had this been the alpha and the omega during a match of his. At the middle of the ramp, Edge would stop, planted his feet wider than shoulder length, put his arms down and decided to look down at the steel ramp, awaiting the queue.

Announcer: “From Toronto, Ontario, Canada, weighing two hundred forty-two pounds…. Please welcome THE RATED-R… SUPERSTAAAAAR~…. EEEEEDGEEEEEE!”

Upon being introduced by the announcer, the six foot four, two hundred forty-two pound man from the great city of Toronto, would pump his shoulders and rose up, throwing his hands in the air, which would form devil horns. Upon doing this, a great show of fireworks would be set off a safe distance behind the man. The pyro would be greater than ever, as it was a special occasion. A few seconds after the fireworks were done; Edge would lower his arms and continue walking down to the ring. Now, he set his eyes on the ring, seeing the announcer in it, and the officials surrounding the squared circle. At a certain distance away from the ring, Edge would stop. He would look around, smirk as he was excited to put on a show, and would proceed to run towards the ring, sliding in. Once he slid in, Edge would stay on the canvas, scanning his surroundings. After a few seconds, he’d spring up and would circle the ring, looking at all the people in the crowd who’ll witness what being a great is all about. Edge would approach a corner and got on the second rope. He’d pump himself up and threw his hands sky high, forming the devil horns once more. Edge would stay in the corner, letting his music die down as he took off his trench coat, handing it to an official. Now, all he had to do was await his great rival to make his entrance, and this match would be able to begin. He still couldn’t believe it, that after all those years of retirement, he’d be competing at Wrestlemania once more. Finally, a chance to prove his greatness would present itself. This was also a chance to give back to the crowd, to the fans who had followed him since his earlier career. Two great men, two veterans, two undisputed legends were ready to give it all in the ring. Edge knew that Sting would be on his A-game tonight; ready to bring out everything that made him a star. Both men would have to give it their all, bring out the best in their arsenal to cement their legacies and settle unfinished business once and for all. Thus, the final showdown would commence. Who will come out on top? Who will walk away a broken man? Many people asked themselves these questions, excited to finally get them answered.

The lights in the arena go black as the beginning of Stings theme plays, drawing a strong reaction of cheers from the audience, and the lights begin flashing and coming into visibility was the man known as the Icon, Sting, walking from backstage with his signature black and white face paint, trench coat and ring gear, as he stops and looks at the crowd, before shouting WOOO to them. He then begins making his way down the ramp and is introduced.

Announcer: "Introducing at this time, from Venice Beach California, weighing in at 250 pounds, the ICON, STTIIIINNNNGGGGGG!"

Sting would continue his way down the ramp until he reached the ring, taking a left turn and walks up the steel ring steps and walks down the apron before entering the ring. He walks to a corner, standing on the middle rope and does another one of his signature shouts to the audience, before getting down and going to another corner, proceeding to do the same thing. Sting gets down,
Slowly walking around the ring before taking his trench coat off, tossing it out of the ring, and continues pacing around the ring with his theme fading out, as he pushes his hair back. Sting would from there, wait for his opponent to come out or would wait for the referee to start the match.

After Sting had finally made his entrance, the Ultimate Opportunist would observe him thoroughly, finally being moments away from starting the great war between legends.

Sting would be in the ring, standing across from Edge. He has a serious, determined game face on. The referee would call for the bell, and the no disqualification match was officially underway.

Their third and final meeting was underway. The bell would be rung three consecutive times. Edge would stay in his corner, staring at Sting, flicking his wrists, ready to take him on.

Sting would go back a couple steps, but then would regain control and step Edge backwards a couple feet!

Once Edge stepped back, he knew the power struggle was real. He'd attempt to transition into a collar-and-elbow tie-up.

Sting would quickly transition THAT into a standing side headlock, trying to wear down Edge early!
PostPosted: Mon May 21, 2018 7:00 pm

Sting successfully transitioned it into a side headlock. Struggling, Edge would try to squirm out of the hold and would try to transition it into a waistlock!

Sting would be in a waist lock, but only briefly as he throws a back elbow to get Edge to let go!
