Itsuki stretched, squishy bean-toes splayed and then curling beneath him. The Mauvian sat atop a concrete wall near a fancy restaurant beginning its dinner rush. The wall itself was eight feet high and decoratively stamped (not that Itsuki cared) to give the restaurant an air of upscale class. Itsuki paid no mind to the establishment's Yelp reviews or Facebook page. All he cared about was that the patrons shooed the cutest cat in Destiny City away, and didn't give him any of that delicious chicken he could smell.

Humph.

The lilac point was devising a way to procure some of that delicious chicken anyway, because he was hungry and oh so adorable. How could they say no to such a cute, fluffy face? Clearly they did not know about his Instagram page. He was kinda... not really... sorta-famous! And hungry! And--

Someone was walking down the road just then, light hair swaying in the evening breeze. Young, someone Itsuki didn't know just from gazing at her, but...

Oh!

There was a star in her---

OHITSSUPERSPECIAL

With a bluster of fluffy activity, Itsuki was more excited than usual about this senshi-in-waiting. Yuki Onna, the snow woman, was simply begging to be awakened and granted power to help in the war raging in Destiny City. Puffing himself up to Maximum Cuteness, Itsuki began to trail the young lady, serenading her from his perch.

"Mya~ Myaaa~"

Itsuki had been booped!

Fluffy ears perked and the cat looked surprised, though he did not run off like other cats might. Instead, the lilac point stayed put, watching the girl with braided hair giggle and coo over him. Well, he was incredibly cute, no doubt about that! Perfect amount of fluff, personable, incredibly intelligent... But that was for another time! He had a senshi to awaken!

Tossing his head to look both directions and swiveling his hears to detect any other interlopers that might try to interrupt such an important occasion, Itsuki found that they were not being paid attention to for now, but that could change at any moment. It was most important to find a private location to awaken this young lady, without having to worry about Negaverse agents dropping in to ruin everything.

Now was the time to take the risk!

"Oh! I've been booped!" The Mauvian kept his voice low, but tried to make it obvious that he was the one speaking, gesturing with his ears and shoulders. "Domo arigato~ Miss, do you have a moment~?"

Itsuki was about to offer an explanation, asking this young lady to follow him to somewhere more secluded for a private conversation (although, it sounded creepy, now that he thought about it), but before he could, he was scooped up and placed in her arms. Her fingers were searching for velcro or a zipper or something, which yielded no results save for Itsuki squirming.

"Heehee! Miss, that tickles! I promise I'm real!"

Little paws gently batted her fingers away as the Mau attempted to remain focused. He did so love a good snuggle, but there was work to be done! Frosty maidens to awaken!! "My name is Itsuki. What's your name? Have you heard about the monsters in the city? Did you know that some people have special abilities to protect the city~?"

Maybe this would lead into some superhero talk, which Itsuki found really helped when trying to explain what was going on. Paeonia seemed to appreciate it, and was familiar with comic books and superhero movies. Maybe that would be the ticket! "Would you believe me if I told you that you were one of those special people? But that's really a conversation we need to have in private... I'm not supposed to be talking out in public and everything..."

"Phoebe-chan!" came the reply, the cat being returned to his place on the wall. She was turning around? She was leaving?! Oh, that simply wouldn't do! What if another Mauvian for the Negaverse happened to find her?? In a panic, Itsuki fluffed himself up, chirped just like any other cat might, and flopped to the street level to follow her. "Phoebe-chan! I'm a Mauvian! I'm not a robot or a demon. Or a robot-demon! I promise!"

The Mau had to keep his voice low so as not to draw attention, but this wasn't turning out the way he'd expected! Before Itsuki could really think about it, trotted in front of her and raised his paws.

"I can prove it to you!"

Oh. But now I have to figure out how to do that...[

Oh! I know!

Gesturing again with his paws, just like a human might with their hands, the Mau tried desperately to explain, all while keeping an eye out for anyone who might have been eavesdropping. "Phoebe-chan, I'm magical, you see. Not a robot! Not a demon! See, watch this!"

Out from subspace, seemingly nowhere at all, out popped a can of Bumblebee brand tuna. The short, squat can was pushed with a paw towards the young lady for inspection. "See! Ta da~ I love tuna, so I always carry a can or two with me. But... then I have to ask for people to use the can-opener, since I don't have thumbs. How is that? Do you believe me now? I have something very magical and special to give you, but nobody else can see it!"

Itsuki was thrilled that Phoebe was kind enough to open the can for him (blast this lack of thumbs!) and set the can down in front of him. Her suspicion made sense, as he was a talking magical cat asking her to follow him to some unknown location under the promise of being bestowed with power beyond her wildest dreams. However, the lilac point wasn't concerned about that. No sir!

"Itadakimasu!" Pulling a pair of special Mauvian chopsticks from the same subspace pocket the tuna can had been housed, Itsuki wasted no time devouring the tuna. Thankful for Mauvian technology to allow the chopsticks to adhere to his squishy toe-beans, it wasn't the cleanest dinner, but it worked. Once finished, Phoebe was presented with the empty can. "Arigato~! That was delicious~ Oh, I should probably get another can. It's always important to have rations, just in case!"

The Mau sat back on his hind legs and patted his belly. "See? No explosions! Just a happy cat with tuna in his belly~ Will you trust me now, Phoebe-chan?"

"Hai~ I'm a real mahou no neko!" he squeaked happily, trotting down the sidewalk until an alley presented itself. Wrapping around the cafe and away from the street, a dumpster and small light above the back door were all that greeted them. Good! This would be the perfect spot to introduce Phoebe to the senshi life.

Hopping up on the lid of the dumpster, Itsuki sat back on his fluffy haunches and gestured with his front paws like a human might.

"Phoebe-chan~ You have a very special heart, you know! So special, in fact, that talking mahou no neko like me can pick up on it! I can make you a special wand that can tap into that magical power~ Watch this!"

Crouching down on the heavy plastic lid of the dumpster and, with one fluid motion, flipped through the air. At the apex of the flip, sparkling icy blue magic coalesced into a small, pen-like object with a circular top. Itsuki caught it as it fell with his paws and reached out to hand it to Phoebe.

"See~? This is your wand! You are Sailor Keiko, Senshi of the Yuki Onna! Very special, yes. Very special! You have a magical warrior form that you can access with this wand! Hai! Just hold it up and shout your special henshin phrase~"

Itsuki lifted a paw to skyward. "Keiko Power, Make-Up! Now you try~!"

Itsuki practically jumped into the air with joy. "Yatta! You did it, Keiko-san! Now you are Sailor Keiko, Senshi of the Yuki-Onna! That's snow woman, in case you were wondering~"

Having a knowledge of the Japanese language was coming in handy lately. emotion_yatta

The Mauvian couldn't forget his important duties, however, explaining the Negaverse, magical radar practice, who the senshi are and what their purpose was... there was much to cover, and most of it was very overwhelming. "Keiko-san, do you have some time now? I have some lessons to give you, but maybe it would be better to break them up! After all, this is a whole new life for you, and it can be very dangerous if you're not properly trained! That's my job. I am--"

Lifting a paw dramatically into the air, Itsuki planted it on his furry chest.

"Itsuki-sensei."

With all that drama out of the way, the lilac point returned to sitting like a normal cat. "Anyway, now you have magical powers and some responsibilities, so I wouldn't be a very good sensei if I didn't teach you everything I know! And besides, who wouldn't want to hang out with a honto kawaii mahou no neko~?"

(( We can skip over Itsuki's specific training and just assume she knows what she needs to know, if you would like! Whatever is easiest/preferable to you, I'm totally down with!))
