Hope this is okay!

By all accounts, the nighttime hours were relatively uneventful. Roddy was asleep, tucked into bed with Staccato, while Julian felt the need to patrol around the neighborhood. He couldn’t sleep and that restless energy turned to protecting his new family. With a good hour or two under his belt, Gravina hoped he could burn off his excess energy and sleep soundly tonight.

Cold wind brushed through his hair and caressed his skin as the Knight of Cosmos lept from roof to roof quietly, making his way towards the park a few blocks away. Ever since his transformation from beast into man, Gravina appreciated simple things like the smell of flowers and frost on the grasses, home-cooked meals and warm toes by a fire. He wanted to continue to protect that as best he could, and protect the people who had nearly sacrificed their lives for his salvation.

Heart full of hope, the puffy-haired knight slowed to a trot upon entrance to the park, finding a strange and dark blip on his radar, somewhere to the left. Trees whispered in the breeze and little legs were protruding from a bush near the swingsets. Oh, was this…

...was this an agent?

Whoever they were, they were lodged fairly deeply in the bush by the look of things, and were ranked as a Lieutenant. While Gravina would be the last person to be considered aggressive or combative, his Knighthood afforded him some comforts. If the Lieutenant chose to try and assault him, Gravina could easy disarm them and send them home.

Gravina approached slowly, carefully, before daring to say anything.

“Um… excuse me…? Are you… stuck?”

The same darned thing had happened for nearly a whole weak! Fettelite would be all set to go, ready to make his general proud, then, poof, tossed promptly out on his a** into the first bush the general saw! Every single time He was left coughing and dirty, and he hadn't even been in a fight yet!

He couldn't understand why his general found amusement in him with sticks in his hair and dirt on his clothes every time he had to go back to Earth, but... Well, he wouldn't complain! That general was nice to him, in a way, always ready to help him get back...

Right! He had to keep on the bright side of things, even if he was currently stuck in this fluffy and stick-y bush!

A tug here, a pull there and... Nope... He was stuck, and he was stuck good, bottom in deep while his legs dangled just barely over the side. Wiggle as he might, he just couldn't escape... Oh no, what would his general think if he came to get him at dawn just to find him stuck like this and having done nothing at all? Fettelite was sure he would get yelled at... Or worse!

So caught up he was with being stuck he didn't even notice that there was someone powerful approaching him, only letting out a small "Huh!" when he heard a voice call out to him. It took a second for him to realize that it was a person and not one of those scary youmas, and when he did he wiggled his legs as best he could so that the other person could see him.

"Y-yes, I'm stuck! My general teleported me here and I didn't stick the landing, so oomph, here I am! C-could you help me please? I'd very much appreciate it!"

Did the agent not know that he, Gravina, was much more powerful than him? Maybe that he was potentially dangerous? Part of the Cosmos Knight's heart felt incredible, gripping guilt that he might inadvertently terrify an agent. Maybe they were trained to fear and avoid anyone like Gravina, despite the fact that he would likely be one of the most friendly Knights an agent could run into. Not that they would know that, certainly.

"Oh, alright. I'm going to grab and pull on your leg, okay? Please tell me if it hurts. I don't want to hurt you..."

With a deep sigh, and without knowing just how big or small this agent was, Gravina rubbed his hands together to warm them just a little. Running cold naturally could be a problem sometimes (though snuggling up to Roddy when he was cold was one of the highlights of his day). When ready, the Knight of Cosmos curled his fingers around the agent's ankles and began to gently tug. Gravina did not know the extent of his Knightly strength and didn't wish to accidentally injure the poor thing.

With a few good tugs, Fettel would have found himself righted and dislodged from the bush, with a Knight of Cosmos standing before him in pinks and blues, a slight sparkle to his outfit. Was it twinkling stars, or glitter? Hard to say. Gravina busied himself with plucking the twigs and leaves from the boy's hair.

"Are you okay now? I'm sorry you had such a... rough landing."

His voice was soft, his body language unassuming. Of all the possible Knights to run into, Fettel might have been the luckiest agent tonight.

"Okay! Don't worry though, I'm pretty sturdy!" A few tugs here, a soft squeak there, and before he knew it, Fettelite was free! Covered in leaves and twigs, but free!

Once he was right on his feet and having this wonderfully sparkly man tending to him, cleaning him up, he offered him the best beam that he could.

"I really do appreciate you taking your time to help me! I know you didn't have to, so knowin' you did makes it all the more nice of you!" He wasn't so stupid to not realized just 'who' exactly he was dealing with. Order folks, knights specifically, were powerful, and most could squish him like a bug! This one didn't... This one was kind and he couldn't express how important it was that someone on a night like tonight had been kind to him.

"It's okay! See, I'm right as rain! Thank you though! What were you doin' out here anyway? There's some scary dangerous people out here sometimes, it's not safe!"

Gravina thought the little boy odd, and very young, but polite nonetheless. Keeping his hands crossed before his hips, the Knight couldn't help but smile.

"You're welcome. I'm glad you're alright, but... You don't have to worry about me. Shouldn't you be worrying about who is out here?" The Knight's eyebrows touched in concern for the young man. He was a Lieutenant, and while the youma would leave him alone, most everyone else probably wouldn't. "It's not safe out here for anyone, really. I wish that weren't the case. I think the people of the city deserve some peace. Even you."

He didn't harbor any ill will towards most of the Negaverse - it would be terribly hypocritical if he did. Instead, Gravina was more concerned about the young ones thinking they were doing something positive for the city without realizing their efforts were the complete opposite. "I'm out here trying to help people, and protect the family I have now. I know you're probably working for a General, but it seems awfully mean to just... dump you in a bush and have you fend for yourself. Are they not teaching you anything?"

Not that they should, as far as Gravina was concerned. Taking in younger people and misleading them was cruel.

"Are you hungry? I brought a sandwich with me. You can have it, if you like."

"I uh... Well, yeah, I'm a little worried, but I have a job to do. I gotta do what they say or they'll kick me out. Or uh... Something." It was wrong to talk bad about the people who were taking care of him... Well, sorta anyway. They kept him mostly fed, and they did give him his own little room in the barracks so it wasn't as if he was really homeless anymore. Fettelite just shrugged a little, picking out a last lingering leaf he felt near his temple.

"It could be worse, you know? He coulda dumped me in the trash like before, or out in traffic. It could always be worse, so I'm happy the bush was there! I guess he was in a good mood today! And I understand, you gotta do what you gotta do, and you need to protect people! I promise, I'm not hurting anyone. I mean, I drain people, but I don't... Like... Hurt them. I ask them if they wanna do something fun, and they say yes and then we go into the alley and they feel me up a bit, and I feel them back, but I drain energy. Suddenly they are sleepy and tucked away somewhere nice and I did my job! See, no one is hurt!" Most of the time. He wouldn't say it out loud but there were a few situations that had gotten dicey every now and then... He didn't need to tell that to a stranger!

Just the every sound of the sandwich made his belly growl and Fettelite couldn't deny how much easier the night would go if he wasn't thinking about food the whole time.

"That's really, really, really nice of you, thank you! I would very much like it, but only if you have something else to eat too! I don't want to take it if it's the only one you have."

As this little lieutenant explained what he had to do in order to lure people into alleys to drain them, Gravina was horrified. His hands crept to his mouth and the Knight was quite visibly disturbed by the story the lieutenant was telling.

"You... but... th-that's not right." he stammered. Having to resort to that to fill one's quota? Horrifying! "There has to be another way, Lieutenant... You shouldn't have to do that. You're so young... it's just... it's wrong! And someday, you might really get hurt! Surely there's somewhere else you could stay, or something else you could do to get your quota? M-maybe you can transfer to a different General, o-or something..."

It just wasn't right. He was so, so young!

With a heavy sigh and a shake of his head, Gravina wordlessly handed the turkey sandwich to Fettelite. The Knight didn't need it. Gravina knew intimately just how horrific the Negaverse could be, but this aspect hadn't even occurred to him. The puffy knight of Cosmos was ill just thinking about it.

Oops... Fettelite really didn't mean to upset this pretty, pretty knight... He could tell that his story really bothered him, and it wasn't something he wanted either of them to dwell on.

"Hey, hey, it's okay! I promise! I mean, things happen! I'm okay! See, I'm still smilin'! It'll be just fine, so I'm not gonna worry about it for now. It's a day by day kinda thing, you know?" To try to comfort the older man, Fettle drew just a little closer, patting his shoulder lightly. This was okay, he was sure! After all, he wasn't draining anything, and it really was just meant to be a kind gesture, just like the sandwich that was offered to him.

He didn't realize just how hungry he was until he took a bite out of it. His stomach immediately let out a growl of satisfaction and he blushed just a little, covering his mouth with a slight snort of a laugh.

"Ooh, I'm sorry!! He apologized, shaking his head. "I think I'm hungrier than I thought... You are really super nice, you know? Everyone on your side seems to be so far... I hope you can keep being nice to people. I think the world would be a lot better if we could all be nice to one another, but I'm not so silly to think it possible." It didn't take long to scarf down the sandwich, and when he was done, Fettelite brushed his hands off on his pants, letting out a contented sigh.

"I'll be good, okay? But I do gotta work, okay? I don't wanna get in trouble."

Fin, if not close to it?

Gravina sighed deeply, brows furrowed in worry and grave concern. "...you might be smiling on the outside, but... are you smiling on the inside...?" Tilting his head at Fettelite as a concerned parent might, Gravina nervously picked at the hem of his sparkling sleeve. "I guess... I know what it's like, to try and keep your head up, no matter what. It's... exhausting, sometimes."

Twiddling his fingers, there wasn't any ground to make by fretting over a Negaverse Lieutenant who had a job to perform under strict threat of... god knew what.

And that Negaverse Lieutenant had a point, the Knight nodded quietly in agreement. "...I just... try to be nice to everyone. Sometimes, that's what someone really needs. N-not that I know for sure, I just..." Gravina sighed and shook his head. He was just blathering now. "A-anyway, I'm glad I had something for you to eat. Most of the Order people, they're very kind. They... helped me out a lot. They'd help you too, if you wanted that..."

The Knight looked away, to a point somewhere in the distance, squinting. "...I'd help you, too. But, please don't get in trouble. Please stay safe, okay?"
