As always chaos reigned in Destiny City. Not just the Chaos faction, but just... Personal chaos. It left Avior feeling exhausted more often than not, and forced him to put on a tough face, not only for his lover and his dear friend that lived with him, but as an example to the Dark Mirror Court, just in case he ran into someone he didn't quite expect.
That whole nonsense with Sinope, the murders... It was far too much for him to consider on his own, and quite frankly, he didn't truly wish to think about it at this time. There was only so much he could do on his own before he started to break...
Tonight was just as good a night as any to take a break, going back to his roots of just walking around at night, from shadow to shadow, letting his wraith go about and drain as needed. Relaxing wasn't quite the word he'd use for it, but there was some comfort found in the monotonousness of it all. He could go through the movements without thinking, letting his mind go blank and that was just fine for now.
And it lasted a good long while until he felt the aura of one of his own nearby and instinctively headed in that direction. It didn't seem to be moving, so when he arrived, he easily spotted the person, right outside of a cafe... An unusual spot to gather energy, but he wasn't one to judge a persons actions.
"Oh.. OH! Good evening!" He called out to the young woman, a warm smile on his face has he came a bit closer. Avior recognized her from a while back, during the whole nonsense with Altea and her mirror world... Thankfully she still seemed to be doing alright, though he vaguely remembered that she and her girlfriend at the time weren't doing so well, and that... Her girlfriend had been that bloody awful Raptor Senshi, who kept flickering back and forth on her ideals... Poor Chione had seemed so stressed out at the time, he couldn't help but wonder if they had broken up because of all of that...
Ah, but it wasn't the time to bring it up, not when so much time had passed, so he internalized that bitterness for later, just in case it happened to come up in conversation.
"It's been a while, hasn't it! How have you been? I haven't seen you since all that ridiculousness in that castle!" For all his excitement to meet up with another one of his own, he made sure to keep his voice low. After all, they were still working, and he didn't need his wraith to be spotted and then more chaos to be riled up.

Perhaps…it was time to find a new place to gather energy. People kept finding her here…and honestly…she didn’t want to be found. She hadn’t really wanted to be found at all…she was doing her work, but for goodness sakes, just leave her alone.
Quietly, before answering the voice in the night, she recalled the wraiths back into their pouches and stood, before facing whoever it might have been…the voice sounded almost vaguely familiar, and it clearly belonged to someone who recognized her…and it was an aura much like her own so she wasn’t…worried.
Finally, Chione stood and turned around, blinking as she saw the senshi from the castle…the one that hadn’t liked their…their PDA…and had been so vocal about it…but he wasn’t a bad guy…they had talked. But…that had been a long time ago now and honestly, Chione couldn’t remember anything they had talked about…or even his name.
But she knew his face.
“Oh. Yeah, hey there! Glad you’re doing okay, what’s…uh…what’s up?”
This felt awkward. He was the first member of her…court that she had seen apart from Acubens and Remarque and…she wondered if she was about to be chastised for missing important meetings or neglecting her duties.
…She was getting better at going out and getting energy…even if it was done out of pure spite. It was still energy for the court.

"Not too much honestly! I'm sorry if I interrupted your work." Avior couldn't help but look over her shoulder, examining exactly what she had been doing before he arrived. Couples. Lots of them... Ah, he couldn't help but wonder to himself if things had gone more downhill than he imagined it would post castle escape. While it wouldn't be surprising, given just how their attitudes were to one another during the trap, he still felt a little bad.
"I've been trying to reach out to more senshi of our court to see how they are doing. I fear sometimes our lone wolf nature gets the best of us Dark Mirrors and we aren't nearly as close as we could be. Would you mind if I traveled with you a little tonight? You're free to say no, but there's no shame in making a new friend." Avior knew he was pushing a little hard for the whole we 'friends' bit, but he wasn't lying. He himself would be more than happy with a few more friends on his side.
"How have you been since all of that anyway? Not too crazy, I hope."

“It’s fine. I’d rather it be you than some self righteous a*****e who thinks they’re better than me and thinks they can just…” She paused, looking at him for a moment, then looking away. “…You’re fine. Sorry. I keep getting found here. I’m honestly starting to think that…you know. This is just the powered place to be. But they never seem to notice me taking their energy when they’re too busy eating and making eyes at one another.”
The bitterness in her voice was evident and she looked away from the male, shrugging.
“I’m not really…going anywhere though, but you’re free to travel wherever you want, I’m not going to stop you…but ah. I forget your name though, so if you wouldn’t mind throwing that out there again, I’d appreciate it.”
Chione grew quiet, rubbing at her forehead for a moment before looking back towards Avior and attempting a smile. “Did you have any plans for what to do? Because I don’t know what else to do. I mean. I’m doing my job, sometimes. Draining energy for ‘The Cause’.” She held up her hands in air, using her fingers to imitate quotation marks, but then shrugged.
“I wouldn’t mind some friends. Honestly.” She didn’t sound happy, but her unhappiness wasn’t directed at him and she hoped he understood.

"No, no, it's fine, really! I understand what you mean, those with those holier-than-thou attitudes pop up all the time. Lecturing and trying to pass off their ideals as something everyone else should believe in too. annoying, if you ask me." He might have been just a little bit of a hypocrite as he definitely was one of those people who went around giving advice and reasoning to those who seemed like they were struggling. With this young woman being in the mood she was in... Well, he'd watch his words around her a bit more carefully. "It's a good place to drain, no doubt about it. They confuse their exhaustion with something else, so to me, it's a really smart idea to drain here. "
He couldn't make any comments about the goo-goo eyes people were making. The way things were with Jason, he'd be making those same eyes...
"Well, if you're not going anywhere, I'd be happy to keep you company then. It's Avior, Senshi of Walls." Avior approached slowly, moving to be standing within arms reach, turning from her to gaze down better at the people. Yeah, they really were just entranced with one another. You'd think it was Valentine's day.
Her questions, tiredness in her voice... All that, he wasn't expecting. It was a good question, but one he just wasn't sure he could answer.
"There's more to our powered selves than draining, I think. Sure, it's needed, but have you explored Mirror Space? Or now, we have these islands, these crystals to make a place all our own. A canvas of sorts that you can build in. I know someone who's making a hotspring or something. It's pretty neat... But as an honest answer, I don't actually know. The goal is to find a planet that's not earth to call home, or to find a way back to the starts, I figured... But how to do it, I'm not sure. I've not been the most present senshi here." That guilt that came from having left came quickly, but he shoved it away, shaking his head. He had learned by now that he didn't need to be guilty about it. His mental health was more important than a war he didn't know why he should be fighting back then. And he understood all too well that loneliness that could creep on you way too easily... He honestly hated seeing anyone suffering with that.
"I don't want to be so bold to say 'hey, I'll be your friend', but... Hey, I'll try to be you friend, if you want. I wouldn't mind some friends either. Alot of the time I feel more like a dad with all these youngin's running around rather than an adult. We could be grown up friends. How's that sound?"

Chione nodded, rubbing the bridge of her nose. “I always thought so. Besides, they’re eating so the energy comes back so much more quickly…and I can drain more than normal…so at least I’m pretending to be useful, you know?”
Right. Avior. She nodded and managed a small smile, though seemed only mildly interested in what he said about mirror space and the strange crystals that had come into being. She still had hers but…
“Honestly, Avior? I don’t know. I don’t think I want anything more to do with that place after being stuck there. And truth be told, I’ve never actually even liked this court all that much? I started coming back because of Acubens but…now I’m just…I guess Remarque is cool and all but I just…don’t care…you know? There’s no spark for me…and if it wasn’t for my brother…I think I’d leave.”
She fell quiet, shrugging. “Not that we’ve talked in months, but still. You can’t just abandon a twin, right?”
Chione gave the male a confused sort of look and shrugged slowly. “I mean…sure? We can be ‘grown up’ friends but…wouldn’t that just be under…I mean…just how old are you anyway? You don’t seem like you could be that much older than I am… and I’m going to be twenty three in October…so…”
She shrugged, then paused, raising a brow. “…Unless you’re trying to talk dirty to me with the whole…’grown up’ friends thing, for which I’m flattered, but I’m into girls, just so you’re aware. Not trying to say you’re not attractive or anything, you’re just not my type…at all.”

"That's entirely understandable. It's not for everyone... Ah. Ah, yes... Acubens. I wouldn't trust following her for the life of me. There's something off about her. Something that just.... I can't tell who she really is. Says one thing, does another. Swears up and down she cares but... You know, I actually defected from the White Moon court... Nothing felt right there, everyone so far apart and detached, so I came to the Dark Mirror instead to see if they had what I wanted. Honestly, if you do not think this is for you, being here in the Dark Mirror Court, then you are free to leave... I may not know exactly how it works, but if you need the help to figure a way out, then I'm here for you... And I'm sure if you explained yourself to Remarque, he'd help as well. It's as they say, “The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb," but if both are lacking and unsatisfying, there's no reason to force yourself to be anything you're not." It took a long time for Avior to accept that statement as fact, years and years of pain went by before he actually did anything about it.
While he was thinking far deeper than he probably should right now, given his own exhausted heart, he didn't think that anything he said could have been taken the wrong way. Yet it was. And when he realized this, he quickly shook his head, the faintest of tinges showing up on his dark skin.
"I-I apologize, that was not what I meant in the least. I meant more of, friends who don't fall into the role of um.... Like, Guardian and ward! We can take care of ourselves, surely but.... I was hoping for more of a friend on equal grounds. I am only... Twenty-one now. I truly didn't mean anything sexual or the like! I am also interested in another person!" Interested was the very vaguest way he could put it without stepping on a potential sore spot. Maybe she had seen just how close he and Crocus had been during that time they were trapped together in the Mirror World. Or maybe not, because unlike some others, he had tried his best to keep his affections quiet. It wasn't the time for it then. And it didn't feel like the right time to mention it now either.
"Um... If you need to take a break from all of... This," Avior motioned to their uniforms with a small gesture, "No one would blame you. I did that myself. Two years in fact, driving around the country, just... Trying to find who I was again. You need to do what's right for you. And if you ever need to come home, well, it's just a quick mirror walk away."

Chione snorted and shrugged. “She’s a piece of work but…” She shrugged again, looking away. “But I was foolish and fell in love with her and now I’m paying for it so…what are you going to do, right? You make bad choices and you deal with them later. But…I’m glad you found someone that makes you happy. That’s important.”
She had a small smile on her face, amused at how flustered he seemed to be. Not that it didn’t kind of serve him right…someone far more…ah…eager might have honestly thought he was propositioning her. She had mostly been teasing though. Mostly.
But his words about helping her find a way out were more comforting than she could express and Chione glanced at Avior, giving a soft smile, seeming pleased. “…You’d really help me leave? I think…I think I honestly might start looking into it. I just feel that there’s nothing for me here and I just…”
Swallowing, she rubbed half heartedly at her eyes. “I just don’t care. I did my putzing around and I didn’t bother powering up…really…I did some at first and got my brother in the court…but then I was absent until I met up with Acubens a few months before the whole…queen…thing. Which I still have nightmares about sometimes. That was stupid and horrible. But now I just…”
Chione sighed, looking away. “…I think most of the time I power up just in case I see her and I know how utterly pathetic that sounds and I wish I could take back the words now that I’ve said them but. C’est la vie.”
Standing and stretching, Chione held a hand out to Avior. “Thanks for talking with me tonight. I think I would like to really take you up on the offer to be friends, and…maybe we could hang out again sometime. Do lunch or something dumb. It might be nice.”

"Yes... Yes I would. We aren't cruel and insistent as the Negaverse is. We all know you have a choice, and if your resent your choice, and wish to make a new one, we truly would rather you be happy then miserable here. It's truly about what you want to do, not any obligation to this court. It can be hell, it can me a mess, so I would not blame you in the least, and neither would Remarque, if you chose a different path." Avior's words were insistant in a way. He could never blame anyone for wanting to find peace. Hell, he had done the very same not all that long ago. Their situations were very much different, apathy vs a desire to not feel useless... It was complicated, but he still did his best to understand...
And he understood doing things for love... Avior had been young and stupid once too, but he refused to bring up his own love any further.
"I can't say the whole Acubens thing isn't foolish. If someone's hurt you, and hurt you repeatedly, they don't deserve forgiveness. No, I think they can rot, honestly, but you deserve to forgive yourself for making choices you've considered mistakes. You're still human after all." There was no doubt some of his words came from his own bitterness towards the other Eternal, but there was no use in talking badly of someone like that. Their actions always spoke for themselves. He did, however, smile when Chione held out her hand, and he took it without hesitation, giving it a gentle squeeze.
"Now Lunch and dumb fun is something I can promise I'm atleast half-way good at. I'm always happy to talk, and I live a rather uneventful life as a civilian, so I should be available whenever you are. Just let me know. Shall I give you my number?"
