It was later in the evening as Stillwaterite sailed over rooftops in one of the more questionable districts of Destiny City. The questionable ones, she found, were the better places to fill her quota. Cleaning up the trash. She'd been low key keeping an eye out for any police cruisers as well, hoping she could catch Officer Vetrov on patrol, but no such luck tonight. Instead, what had her pausing on a roof top, was a rather shrill scream. Well, that was a little out of the ordinary. Still hopped over a few alleyways until she peered over the ledge and found her query, curious. Oh. Someone was cornered in an alleyway by a rather large ferocious looking youma. Still almost left the poor soul to his fate, because it was a questionable part of town, but even from up here she could see that he had a rather nice suit and well... that wasn't common in these parts. Curiosity heightened, the corrupt decided to intervene. Still teleported, disappearing from the rooftop to suddenly appear before the cornered man, and a hand reached out as if she could flick the creature away with a motion. " Sail away." It pretty much did. The senshi's magic appeared in the form of a ship, and barreled right into the youma, taking it away a good fifteen feet and right into some trashcans. The senshi didn't stop there though, and strolled to the nearest wall to rip a steel pipe off of the wall. "Doing alright there?" She asked the man conversationally, offering him a smile, though her eyes kept on the youma. Now that she was here, she'd be the target, which worked out for the best.

This was not a Charmander.
Steele's night had, for the most part, started out well. He'd finally gotten Nora to actually put papers (mostly) into the right spot and to stop using pink glitter for the annotations. This meant she had switched to purple glitter, but it was an improvement nonetheless. He'd flirted shamelessly with the woman at the bus stop. He'd managed to schmooze his way into one of his neighbors letting him leech off of his free wifi in exchange for an expensive bottle of wine for a week.
The good streak had ended fairly early with two of the following scenarios:
1) The Charmander he'd been trying to catch in Pokemon Go for three weeks now had broken free and run off, and
2) He was now being set upon by a magical creature intent on eating him.
The former was outraging to the highest degree, the latter just plain insulting, because frankly, Steele was much, much too valuable to be eaten. That, and he'd just spent the better part of his loan on this staggeringly expensive suit, and he looked damn good in it, and did not appreciate the idea of spending another pretty penny on drycleaning monster guts off of it.
This did not, however, stop him from letting out the most unmanning, high pitched screeching sound as it came closer.
Steele's icy blue eyes cut sideways to the figure peering at him, dust (well, trash) settling around the creature that was now sprawled a good half a dozen feet away. He knew what these people were, of course - for the most part. They were the ones who made him money.
Sort of.
"Yes," said Steele, with as much dignity as he could muster under the current circumstances. He straightened his tie, smoothed a hand down the front of his suit jacket, wincing inwardly at the grime. "Who are you? Are you in need of assistance, pretty lady?"

Still's lips pulled up in amusement as she put herself between the man and the youma, brandishing the steel pipe. She was silent for a moment as she took these few seconds to contemplate her options. She felt confident in battling the youma, but even if they attacked senshi, they were still on her side... So really, the most logical thing would be to teleport. The youma was picking itself up, shaking off the trash, and snarling in her direction. The corrupt turned to Steele. "Oh, no. Not one bit. That's very kind of you though." She could hear the scratch of claws on the cement which told her the creature was barreling back towards them, and the corrupt reached out to grab Steele by one of those expensive sleeves. They blinked out of the alleyway, and the youma let out an echoing cry as it slammed into the wall. The pair reappeared in another portion of the city entirely. A park. Well lit and in a more populated area, though the spot in the park she had picked was empty, given the time. Still let go of the man's suit, and did a quick mental scan of the area. Coming back with nothing, she focused back on the man. "My name's a mouthful, so you can call me Still." Now that there was no immediate threat, she eyed him. "What had you in that....neighborhood, hm?"

The pipe was given a scrutinizing look. Steele had a moment of wondering whether or not she was going to try and beat him with it, and another moment of whether or not he could claim he was robbed and then sue for for damage done to his persons, as well as the pain and suffering that would inevitably follow this assault.
People loved to say they had pain and suffering. It was great court fodder.
He possibly should have been more concerned about the youma, and inwardly Steele was shrinking back inside of himself like a scared teenager, but like hell he would show that side of himself right now, especially in the presence of a woman. He felt her fingers close around his sleeve and yank, Steele making a protesting sound and then -
- oh. They were gone. They were....
"What the hell?" Steele said aloud, and then, with a glance at his phone, still in hand, "Good grief, a Charmander."
He completely missed the rest of what she'd said.

Oh. Well then. Still tilted her head as she stared at the man. He was an odd one, for sure. Was in the wrong part of the neighborhood, wasn't disconcerted by magic, or the fact they had teleported, and instead seemed focused on something on his phone. Curious, Still circled around to come to stand next to him, and in fact made herself at home in his personal space. She rested her cheek against his shoulder, and looked at his phone screen as well. Oh...there was a cute little critter on there! Was this that game a lot of people were walking around and into? Pokemon? Something about it seemed...really familiar. Wait...that's right. People had to walk around to various locations to catch the critters so... "...Ah. Is that what you were doing in that shady part of town?" She asked, also admiring the nice cologne he wore since she was so close. Very nice.

Six pokeballs, twelve great balls, and three ultra balls later and Steele still hadn't caught the damn Charmander. It hadn't run away yet, which was promising, but every time he tossed a ball and it wriggled around and then popped open again, it was teasing his heart.
Steele made a noise of aggrieved disappointment as he lost yet another ultra ball. "Look, it's very important that I catch this Charmander," he said seriously, only half noticing that the woman had come to lean against his shoulder. "I haven't managed to find one since it came out, because they aren't in this damn city, and it's my favorite, and it's entirely necessary that I catch one right now - mother fu - "
It was rare for Steele to swear, especially in the presence of a pretty lady, but the Charmander had just up and fled and now he was resisting the urge to smash his phone on the ground.
"After ALL THAT TIME - "

Still watched him toss one ball after another, and was rather amused. Especially because she could feel his temper rising with every missed attempt. Part of her was focused on the screen, another part of her pondered. Was this man just a civilian? He must be, or else he would have powered up to save himself in that alleyway. There was a pretty good chance he might not have made it out otherwise... Hm. Wasn't part of her job as a Negaverse agent to...bring others in? Fingers reached up to idly rub at the material of his sleeve. It was a nice suit, which meant he must have had a good job, right? Possibly...so maybe that would be a good perk, even if he was possibly lacking in the...common sense department. But that could be fixed, right? If someone mentored him then--- A possibility, and she was curious. "Say." She started, cutting him off. "How'd you like to be able to freely roam the streets at night and not have to worry about those monsters attacking you?" She paused, waiting to see if that caught his attention. "How'd you like to be able to clear the distance of the city with a single thought, so that you could catch a Charmander with ease if a stray one ever popped up?" She smiled, amused. "That'd be amazing, right?"

He'd had a chance for greatness and he'd lost it.
All thanks to...well, he wasn't sure who to blame in this scenario, exactly, so he went with the universe, because it absolutely was not his own fault, because nothing was ever his fault. It was probably also that monster's fault, because if it hadn't been for that stupid creature interrupting him, he would have caught the Charmander and all would have been right with the world.
Steele finally returned his attention to the woman, squinting at her. She was eyeing his expensively tailored suit with interest, which wasn't surprising, since that was what he'd bought it for - to interest people. Mostly beautiful women, so it seemed to be working swimmingly.
Blond brows rose. Then lowered again a second later, suspiciously.
"Are you telling me that you have a solution to my problem?" he asked. "Because I'm all about solutions."
Especially if they involved good things for himself.

"Mhmmm." Still hummed cheerfully. "I have multiple solutions for your multiple problems." Depending on whether he'd turn into a senshi or an agent but...she was thinking agent? That seemed like the best possibility. "See, I'm apart of an organization that runs this city. Behind the scenes, of course, and you could be apart of it too. If you joined, the odds of those monsters bothering you would be low to zero...and you'd be able to teleport all across the city~" She paused, a brow rising. "Sound pretty good so far? Because that's not all. You'd get physically stronger, faster---you'd be able to clear fences with ease to go catch those Pogeys!"

He considered this.
Steele had heard of the special people, of course. He wasn''t stupid; keeping an eye and ear out for strange happenings was part of his job, because then he could swoop in with an offer they couldn't refuse and help them out while they recovered from their pain and suffering, and that would mean a lot of moolah in hand and a lot of good things coming his way.
But he'd never actually considered being one of them himself.
Physically stronger.
Faster.
Clear fences.
Catch Charmander.
Teleport.
Steele fantasized about this for a full thirty seconds of awkward silence before he spun around and pointed a suspicious finger in the woman's - he'd forgotten her name already - direction, eyes narrowed.
"Is there a catch?" He asked pointedly. "There's always a subclause, or a footnote, or something that says when you sign here, you're essentially signing away your entirely life story."
He would know, after all; he was the master of creating them.

"Of course there's a catch. It's a deal. A contract. You gain power in exchange for giving power." She beamed at him, and reached out to run her fingertips along the finger that was pointed at her, drawing some of his energy as she did so. She presented the small orb to him. "For what you're given though, it's really easy. You just look for scum on the streets and you clean it up. You turn in the energy to fulfill your quota. You patrol, but outside of that, your time and power are your's~" She slipped the small ball of energy away to collect more later. "If you turn out to be an agent, you'll go through ranks, and once you get high enough, you can have your own personal monster...in addition to the feral ones leaving you be." The corrupt paused. "What say you, good sir?"

Steele immediately puffed up.
"Contracts," he said dismissively. "I know all about contacts. I eat contracts for breakfast, and - what is that?"
His eyes had laser tuned to the glowing orb held in the woman's hand. Steele felt a twinge of weariness flicker through him, not enough to make him sway, but enough for him to feel it, as though he'd been walking too much and was now too tired to go farther.
Interesting.
He hadn't been lying; contracts were something that Steele knew only too well. He could read the fine print as much as he could write it, and this...this was just another case for him to take on, though it was very deliberately his own case.
He was just going to pointedly ignore that whole saying about lawyers who had themselves as their lawyer and all that s**t.
Besides - Charmanders.
Steele's smile was white and bright and lethal in the darkness.
"Where do I sign?"

There was a part of her that was stunned and possibly in shock that that's all it had taken. The interaction (minus all those balls thrown to catch Charmander and missing) hadn't even lasted that long, but he was in? Huh. Maybe it was just that easy for some people. She grinned at him. "Just a moment. I'll bring the dotted line to you." The corrupt took out her crystal communicator and shifted it to a tablet. Eyes were focused as she scrolled through her contacts, but her fingers hesitated over General Aurostibite's name. That had been the general who had been present when she had woken up, and her first initial thought was that she should contact him for this corruption. Pyrophanite... According to Harmotome, something was getting progressively worse with him. The youma...but, it wasn't like Pyrophanite could just be left out of things, and he was her friend, and the only general she was currently close to so...It'd be fine. It would be. Her fingers resumed scrolling until she found the Snake General's name, and she tapped it to dial him. "Yo, Danger Noodle!" She greeted with a grin. "I need your corrupting powers here ASAP. Got a live one who wants to join the fold." She paused for a moment before adding: "I'm in that park where we made off with that one hot dog trike that one night!"

The call came at a great and not so great time for the snake general. He was, in every sense of the time, appeasing the ever persistently growing voice in his head, Mamushi insisting on resting only in heated lamps, and even going as far as him blacking out and ending up in different places.
Different places with bodies around him. Luckily he was home in the negaspace, created to house the different chaotic monsters that roamed, himself and Hauyne included.
"Oh yeah?" Still had found a potential member before any of his own lieutenants had. That was quick work of the ship captain and it made him grin. "A live one eh?" Still wasn't the type to kill and that wasn't his problem, she could do whatever she wanted, so long as she answered to Metallia still.
If she wanted a lieutenant so early on in her career, more power to her, who was Pyro to deny.
"Always working for them sssssenshi, boy?" The snake voice curled, displeased he was leaving the warmth for nothing more then people that should be considered food. Pyro chose to ignore it, donning the general uniform and teleporting to the very park that the trio had run rampant in with a hot dog stand thing.
"If it isn't my favorite new friend." Pyro came over and tugged on her long corrupt hair playfully, though his gaze was focused on the taller heat signature of a man. "Damn Still, you couldn't pick a hot babe for me to stick my hand into?" he tsked, "I thought you actually cared about me."
He looked over Steele in the sense to establish that he would or wouldn't do as the man pleased.
"Why do you want to join?"

Traffic passed at over-average speeds, given the hour, and with steady flow below the overpass the Machine camped. The pedestrian bridge that hemmed the overpass had an excellent view of a small memorial park where Food truck Roundups were started to get popular. This week’s gather was some cupcake outfit, two bbq wagons, a shake and burger and a vegan indian. Not many, but enough to draw a small crowd. No tex mex, though. And most importantly: No Tacos. Just when the corrupted was considering going down among the picnic tables to ask around about truck schedules, Stillz voice came clarion for Bus. ‘corrupting powers’ and ‘join’, ehhhh? Quick work for gettin’ in on the Recruitment action, hella Stillz. Damn. Wish I’d been that cool. Next best things the coolest compadre, though. Less than a wink and the Corrupted of Execution appeared on the scene in time to hear something about joining in a question tone from Bus. Formality and a complete inability to do the fisty-chest business either meant a jaunt over to the Naughty Nautical to offer a high five by way of greeting, "GIMME SOME SKIN, STILLZ-" “This occupation's got to go, Up pulls the limo, up goes the thrill….This suits be picking up the right kinda bill?”
