Even with all his doubts, Paracelsian kept going on his patrols and collecting energy. The least he could do was put up appearances until something decisive happened, one way or another. Either he would be punished, or he would escape the clutches of the Negaverse somehow. It wasn't like he could just flip a switch and be not-Negaverse immediately, so he was going to have to do his "job" for now. Somewhere, between the rooftops (or possibly on one of them?), there was a lone senshi aura. Regardless of what would happen upon contact, he had to investigate. Hopping across the rooftops, Paracelsian advanced on the aura, wondering who would be on the other side.

Hypatia had met with the over eager frog senshi again, and in spite her better judgement, had decided to take his advice, and practice some things relating to balance and the like. So it was that she was standing as far out on a thick wire between buildings that she dared do when she realized she could sense another aura approaching. A Negaverser. After a moment’s consideration, she decided to say where she was...it wouldn’t be too hard to shift from this spot quickly if she needed to, and she was pretty sure the one approaching was not a high ranked person, so would probably be quite wary of what she could do. It was only a few moments before she saw him. Didn’t seem too imposing...or out for blood, but you could never tell with these people. She crossed her arms, which was honestly terrifying...she was still balancing on a wire, after all, but the audacity of it was probably enough to look intimidating. And she had long ago mastered the “imperious girl who knows she’s in charge” look, which she put on then. She quirked a brow and asked, “Isn’t the dentist’s office down the street?” Not the most polite greeting, to be sure, but most of these meetings were usually very rude, and she was getting used to that.

When the senshi's voice reached him, Paracelsian stopped where he was, looking up to find her. The first thought he had was that this lady had impeccable balance. He respected the commitment to a badass pose, but he was concerned that a stray breeze that was one bit too strong could knock her right over. Hopefully she could stick the landing if that happened. The opening quip made him give a short, sharp chuckle. "I see you're in on the joke," he called up to the senshi. Yeah, he knew he looked like a dentist. "My weapon will really make you laugh, then." He manifested that silly little toothpaste tube that had passed as his weapon for nearly a year. "Can you see it? Try not to fall over laughing." He knew he was taking a potentially aggressive senshi too casually, but perhaps her bark was more severe than her bite.

Well, it wasn’t an immediate attack, so that was a good sign, and… she squinted down, frowning. Was that… toothpaste? She did laugh. It was hard not to. Low ranked negaversers had such…odd equipment. She wobbled slightly, and decided that standing there wasn’t gonna work anymore, so she threw her arms out to the side (to adjust balance), and hopped backward, letting herself drop down to the ground with a thump. She didn’t do “the superhero pose” when she did, but she did scrunch down a bunch before standing upright and absently dusting her little skirt off. From there, she made no move to attack. Instead, she spoke again. “It’s kind of amazing any of you accomplish anything with those… ‘tools’,” she gestured vaguely in the lieutenant’s direction as she said that, “they give you.”

Paracelsian grinned nervously behind his mask, an absent "heh" escaping as the senshi had a laugh at his expense. It seemed for a moment that she would indeed fall over laughing, but she caught herself and dropped to the ground. "Nice catch," he said when Hypatia landed. "Yeah, I don't know how some people make it past Lieutenant with what they're given, either. We're supposed to learn to use our bodies as weapons, but that can only get you so far, especially against senshi magic." He tried not to shudder. He hadn't forgotten that senshi with the cutting-open-feeling magic. "At least the corners of a toothpaste tube can leave a nasty scratch, kind of."

“I suppose you could try with that thing,” Hypatia said lightly. “There does seem to be a rather…dizzying variety of senshi powers around,” she observed. Her brow furrowed slightly as she spoke, dusting her hands off. “Oh, dammit,” she muttered, looking at her left palm. She’d managed to embed a small rock in it on landing, and with a grimace plucked it out, leaving a red spot slowly growing. She sighed, tossed the rock aside, and resumed talking. “Though the same can be said for you agents as well. Just a…dizzing variety of strange toys and things. That can really hurt.” Without any warning at all, she held her hands together, and then pulled them apart again, creating a glowing orb of water swirling around between them. She appeared to grip it like one might grip a rubber ball in her right hand, and just plunged her left, bloody palm up, directly into it. The red spot glowed more, and began to close back up slowly. She smiled at him. “But not all of us are about doing harm with the magic, you know.”

Paracelsian winced when Hypatia pulled the rock out of her hand. It was a small injury, but sometimes it was the small injuries that hurt the most. Some stupid mind trickery, definitely. "It's true," he said, his gaze going a bit distant. "The Negaverse is pretty good at thinking of ways to hurt people, even with minor things." Then the senshi demonstrated her magic, and Para goggled, totally and utterly. It wasn't like he hadn't considered the possibility that senshi possessed healing magic, but that just made them seem even more powerful to him: they could not only harm, but they could help with just a thought. "I... I see," he stammered, mulling over the ramifications. "Being a senshi sounds like it puts a great deal of power at your disposal. Of course, there's no manual on how to use that power, so... I think I can see why the Negaverse is afraid of senshi."

“There’s probably more to it than that,” Hypatia mused, and casually discarded her glowing ball of water, letting it splash on the pavement. The glow of it disappeared immediately, and only a damp spot on the ground remained. “But that does seem likely. That, and us not exactly going along quietly with the whole…evil shadow empire thing.” “I can’t speak for everyone,” she said, waving a hand dismissively, “But I don’t exactly appreciate the summoning of…soul-eating monsters, and sucking of life force from people. It’s just so…” She paused, considering, “Stupidly villainous. I mean… why?” “If not for that, I’m sure Senshi powers could be used for all kinds of society-enhancing purposes,” she continued, with an almost lamenting tone. “But as it is…if I were to, say, set up shop somewhere and offer the use of my powers to fix simple injuries, well, there’s a good chance that something will turn up to eat me, or worse.”

Paracelsian looked over his shoulder, then off to the side. He did not feel any other signatures in the area or spot any witnesses, so he might have been in the clear (insofar as any powered person in Destiny City was ever in the clear). His voice dipped low. "If I may be frank, I don't quite appreciate it either. If I just needed people to donate energy to sustain a shadow city or our powers or something, that would be fine. But some people in the Negaverse are... bloodthirsty. They take the threat of senshi very seriously. And some of them treat starseeds like bargaining chips. It's unsettling." He shook his head, thinking of what he had heard some of his peers say regarding senshi and starseeds. "Well, yes, if you made a big show about your 'shop' for healing, something would show up to shut you down sooner or later. I suppose there's no way to make your abilities known while not becoming too big a target, is there? That sounds inconvenient for everyone." Despite himself, Paracelsian was mulling over a possible solution for Hypatia's healing.

Hypatia quirked a brow, finding this turn of conversation somewhat unexpected. That said, the way it started was rather unusual in her experience, so she withheld judgement on it all. Refreshing to have a reasonable conversation with an "enemy," all the same. "Well, it's good to know," she said, touching a finger to her cheek, "That some of you aren't in it for death and destruction. But you must be the minority, otherwise I don't think we'd be having this discussion, would we? Perhaps you might try convincing your compatriots to change?" An almost pointless suggestion, to be sure, but it was worth trying, she figured. "Then again," she continued, pondering the question of magical energies and murderous people. The Dark Mirrors came to mind. They, too, collected energy, but perhaps with a tendency to be less lethal. "An organization like...yours surely couldn't be completely stupid, so there must be some, erm... Rreason to do what they do. Which brings us back to 'stop the Negaverse' as the only real option available, far as I can see." "But what ever the case, I think, perhaps, it would be helpful to be able to use my powers more frequently and for more people...Would probably be able to do it more often," she mused. "I can only do it a surprisingly small amount of times before it just becomes...too taxing. And that's not uncommon among senshis, far as I'm aware." Might be useful intel for some people, but surely the negaverse in general knew that already?

"I was in it for the sake of something to do. That got out of hand kind of quickly." Once again, Paracelsian shook his head. "I wish I could tell them to tone it down a bit. It might be an easy message to spread among Lieutenants, but the further up the ladder you go, the more set people's reasons for staying Negaverse agents tend to be, or so it seems." That idea struck a chord with him, somewhere. Even if the older members couldn't be swayed to change their ways, perhaps it might be possible to build a more reasonable Negaverse starting from the ground up. One focused more on preservation and only eradicating the truly problematic. As a Lieutenant, doing this would be subversive, but as a Captain, perhaps there were ways to work within the rules...? "The reason... we're told that senshi and Knights are a threat to the Earth and a source of 'problems.' I don't think Lieutenants are expected to think critically about the information, only to keep it completely in mind." Something in Paracelsian's gaze seemed to go distant. The gears were turning inside his head. "Too taxing... hmm. Even if there is only a limited amount of times you can do it, I'm sure you'd appreciate being able to use it more frequently. Or freely, without someone breathing down your neck." Perhaps, if the Negaverse could protect certain senshi in exchange for the occasional boon of power from them, that would be beneficial for everyone. That was how these kinds of deals tended to work, right?

Something to do, Hypatia thought to herself, choosing to not actually remark upon it. Sounds like wayward kids joining a gang to me.Instead, she replied to the next thought. "More set, or more crazy? Admittedly, I haven't uhm...'interacted' with a great many agents, but either your people only," she paused, considering whether the phrasing was correct or not, then pressed on. "promote people with a...curious set of morals, or something about the process creates it. I'd be careful if I were you." "They say we're the source, huh?" she asked, an almost amused smirk on her face. "Well, I can say with confidence that it is not knights and senshis creating those Youma monsters. So..." She trailed off and shrugged. "I certainly would appreciate not worrying about who might turn up while using powers," she agreed with a nod. "I mean, I can do that, if I transport myself off of Earth. Trouble is...nobody's there, so not really a whole lot to do with healing magic." She shrugged again. "Though, I admit it is rather fascinating to make that trip."

"The reasons are more set," Paracelsian explained. "The people may or may not be 'crazier.' I know there's a general somewhere who can stay their hand." The admonition to be careful made him nod. He would be careful, that was for sure. The ideas in his head were only starting to take root, but they required discretion for sure. However, the mention of youma made him shake his head. "Youma are just tools, in my understanding. Some people let them run wild, but if I had my way, they'd be reined in some more." "Transport yourself off Earth?" Paracelsian gave a thoughtful hum. "I feel like I've heard about this. Care to tell me what's up there?" Having a space haven sounded like a fun perk to being a member of Order, but he was left wondering if it would be more or less interesting than Negaspace.

Tools? she thought, and snorted, but said nothing more on the topic of Youma. “Up there?” she asked, pointing toward the sky. “It’s space. Lots of nothing.” She smiled wanly. Obviously that wasn’t really what he was asking. “Every Senshi, far as I know, has a planet, or a star. Mine’s a planet, around another star. It’s quite striking.” She looked off to the side, picturing what she’d seen there before. “Though, honestly, I’ve only been to one of the planet’s moons…but that’s to be expected, I suppose, with a gas giant…It’s a place humans can live, but nothing is alive there. Uhm, well, apart from some seaweed, maybe. It’s a strange, desolate thing. But magnificent, in its way.” Having your own planet, she reflected, is slightly absurd…but then existence itself seems a bit absurd at times.

Paracelsian made a thoughtful noise as he tried to piece together a mental image from what Hypatia was describing. Negaspace sounded a bit similar in terms of strange beauty, though perhaps Negaspace had a more trafficked feel due to the flow of agents through there. There was, of course, no seaweed in Negaspace. "Seaweed? Is your planet mostly aquatic, or...? Well, the section of the planet you've been to, anyway." How curious. He didn't think there were any seas in Negaspace or the rift. He took a few steps away, the gears in his head turning. "Do you know about anyone else's planet? Perhaps, if I ask politely, I could go to space..." That was a fascinating thought, though he had a feeling that that place was mostly dead for a reason.
