Paracelsian told himself he just had to keep going. No matter how uncertain his path stood, he had to keep up appearances. He could suffer much worse than memory loss if the Negaverse picked up on his possible wavering allegiance. Then again, would death really be the worst outcome the Negaverse could inflict upon him? They probably had one step worse in store. That was why he had to still be a good soldier for them. There was a senshi aura on the horizon, somewhere on a lattice of sidewalks between some of Destiny City's taller buildings. Or maybe the senshi was on a rooftop? Either one was fair game. He had no choice to at least investigate the aura. If the senshi on the other side of the aura was the kind to pick fights, that would make his job easier. If not... well. It was all about playing the part.

Echo continued her normal route of rooftop jumping portal with a big yawn, just not feeling it today. She checked her phone for the time and sighed a bit grumpily before feeling a nearby power. She checked her phone's map, seeing the power coming straight for her. Crap. Not wanting to run this time, she quickly looked around, finding the only thing up there that mattered was the AC unit and the raised part of the building that was for the door. Oh well, she thought and quickly made her way on top of the door to wait. At this point at least she would have the high ground if it was a Nega, though she could only hope it was another Senshi to befriend. Sami-Fire Sorry for the crappy reply. XD

When Paracelsian got close enough to see the senshi, he arched an eyebrow. It wasn't every day that you say a White Moon senshi with as much hair as a Corrupt. The senshi also seemed to be waiting for him, which was an interesting choice. It wasn't as though he hadn't occasionally waited for auras to come to him, but this senshi didn't seem to be afraid, or at least was unmotivated to run away. It looked like an interaction was inevitable, so he would default to his usual bag of tricks. He doffed his cap politely and greeted her. "Evening, senshi," he said. "How has your night been going?" It was a loaded question that, if answered, could net him a variety of information, from occurrences in the area to the senshi's current aggression.

Echo sat up to get a better look at the Negaverse member, laughing a little when he doffed his hat. A bit surprised at how well this was starting off. He didn't seem too scary either- at least not in the outfit or big scary weapon. "Evening Nega.." It was wary as she finished looking him over, deciding to get a bit closer. "It's been ok, I suppose.. Helps relieve the stress of the day." Hm. Echo crossed her arms, "I'm surprised you're talking to me."

Paracelsian shrugged. "Interesting. Some people might say that their night life is more stressful than their day life, though I suppose those people have been running into my kind longer." She was surprised that he was talking to her... it seemed that she had already run into the more violent flavors of Negaverse agent. "Well, not all of us open up an extra-fizzy can of murder when we first encounter a senshi. Some of us have manners. Seems you've already run into the ones that don't." He sighed and approached Echo a bit more. "Still, I have a proposition for you. There's a few ways this can go. The best way this can go is that you can donate some of your energy to me so I can meet my quota, and we both go on our merry ways. Alternately, if you really feel the need, we can do a few practice swings at each other so that we can both claim we did our jobs. Which one will it be?" He left the most violent option unspoken. That way, it would be all on the senshi if she decided to escalate things into a major conflict.

Echo couldn't help but laugh a little. "Ooh, manners." Grinning, despite the feeling of her hairs standing on end and the knot her stomach got thinking of others she had already encountered like he said. She stood in attention, listening to his words wisely, as she wasn't much in the mood for a sudden weapon or even fist to the face at the moment. She had the admit that donating her energy seemed off putting and dangerously scary, being she had never done such a thing before. Would it hurt? Would this cause her to power down? It was better than other ways this could go, but she wanted to talk. As much as she needed the practice. Hmm. Echo looked Paracelsian in the face. Wary with a crinkled brow. Even inch of her was telling her to punch the guy in the face. Instead she extended her hand for a shake of agreement. "Is it ok if we talk then?"

That had to be a nervous smile. Paracelsian knew that nervous smilers and laughers were a thing. The senshi seemed to consider the proposal for a moment, and then it seemed that she was willing to accept it and shake on it. For a moment, the thought of initiating a drain during the handshake flitted through his mind, which struck him with a brief but deep guilt. Yes, it would be possible, but he didn't want to shatter the senshi's trust that quickly. He nodded, then accepted the handshake. "Talking is fine. What have you got on your mind? And, ah, I'm Lieutenant Paracelsian. If we're going to shake hands, we might as well introduce ourselves, don't you think?"

Echo smiled at his comment as they shook hands, glad that he accepted to talk to her. She hadn't got many other chances, and with those she never even got to ask. Plus, he was right! "I'm Sailor Echo." She offered, guessing she should keep her power to herself. Paper wasn't very impressing anyway, now was it? "Well.." She started, thinking to herself. What did she want to know? Or rather, what do she think he would actually answer. "I just...I like hearing people's stories. I want to understand both sides of this war. Did you want this? Where you forced?" Echo blushed a bit, realizing the questions were a bit direct but where else should she start? It made her feel sad too as her mind reeled though what he could possibly answer? What if it upset him?

"Sailor Echo, huh?" Paracelsian gave Echo a quick look over, seeing if he could identify her sphere by her fuku. He couldn't, or at least he didn't feel confident in any guesses that arose. "I take it your sphere isn't what it says on the tin, then? It would be too easy to have a Sailor Echo, Senshi of Echoes." When Echo declared her desire to hear people's stories, that warmed the cockles of Paracelsian's heart. "I see you're investigating and doing some critical thinking. That's a good sign. It's too often that people see the war as black and white, and just charge off to fight against their supposed enemies without stopping to think." He sighed into his mask. "At the time, I... I think I wanted it. It was something new, something that I thought would give me a little control over my life. Unfortunately, the measures needed to gain that control were a bit... extreme. It looks to me like you don't get to Captain rank by just saying please and thank you." He lowered his head and shook it sadly. It really felt troubling when he mulled over the implied expectations of a Negaverse agent.

Echo couldn't help but laugh, covering her mouth. "No, not Echoes." She grinned, wondering what kinda of powers she'd have if that was the case. His approval made her feel a little happy but she quickly pushed it to the side, knowing it was probably just because he was older. She didn't want to feel this way but it at least made her feel a bit better as he explained himself and how he felt about their rankings. She rubbed her arm with a wary smile and a nod. "I suppose not..." A small sigh, "I actually faced a General back when I was still a Chibi...thankfully he was against that, to some degree. I can't say I would be as lucky if I met him again now." Her brows crinkled with the last words and she looked Paracelsian over again. At least he was no where near as creepy as the Plague Doctor. She kinda even wanted to give him a hug with how it seemed to trouble him. "Have you ever thought about leaving? W-Would they let you?" Echo's voiced was concerned, feeling as if, if the two of them did become friends- would he be safe? What if he didn't want to leave? Would that makes this wrong? Her face seeming to mirror her thoughts as she felt the nerves hitting her. Maybe it was a bad idea. But she wanted to know.

Paracelsian wondered if the record scratch in his head was loud enough to be heard outside of it. "Wait, what? A General attacked you when you were a Chibi senshi?!" His thoughts went to that creepy nut Natron for a moment. Natron seemed like he'd happily kill a Chibi senshi. It occurred to him that he had never thought much about the younger members of Order, despite them being one of the Negaverse's greatest points of contention with Order. He shook his head again. "This doesn't help my feeling concerned about the higher-ups one bit. There's at least one that's hell-bent on senshi murder." He could see the concern on Echo's face as she asked him if it was possible to leave. Perhaps she would be able to see a sudden sureness in the way he held himself, in his gaze, as he answered. "No, they would never 'let' me leave. But there's a way. It comes at a cost, but... there's a way, and with the way things are, I'm considering taking it." It felt both good and very dangerous to say it aloud.

Echo blushed awkwardly, feeling the need to defend the General since it wasn't totally all his fault, but then she wondered why she even felt the need to. Her mouth opened slightly as if to say something, but no sound came out. It happened only a month before she turned fourteen and became a basic Senshi. What difference did the a month make? She was still just a child but now because of her status, she could be killed for it. Even with this new world she had entered into and this power, it almost seemed helpless. She wondered with so many years of her life left, if it would eat her alive. Her attention was drawn back as Paracelsian answered her question now. Her lips came together again, in a bit of a frown. She wondered what kinda of cost there was to these things. She didn't plan on changing sides, so she never thought about asking what it took to do so. Was it painful? Surely emotionally at least. Echo's heart raced at his words but it also felt uplifting? "Well...I'd like to be your friend. So if you ever do leave, you won't be as alone. ..If that's alright with you?"

Paracelsian couldn't help but smile at the offer of friendship, and he wondered if Echo could see it behind his mask. "I... I'd be happy to have a friend like you, Echo. If I remember you after the purification, I'll be sure to say hello. And if I don't, all you have to do is introduce yourself again to the new me. I hear that being purified does something to your memories, but there's no way to know for sure what you'll forget... so, if I do forget you, it's not on purpose." He looked over his shoulder and backed away slightly. "Are you sure you won't donate...? No, never mind. Forget it." Once again, he shook his head. "Maybe I should go. If another powered person comes by, they're going to wonder what a basic senshi and a Lieutenant are doing in the same place, and probably assume it's not good." anime_girl10 Going to have to change this to a Reg, if that's okay with you!

His words hit Echo right in the heart. She really hoped he would remember, maybe they could even fight together one day...or maybe it was just high hopes on her part. She could only wish her hopes weren't that crazy. Right? Echo felt her nerves go off again when he looked around, forgetting what they where risking in this moment, taking the time to glance too until he backed away. Was it weird she wanted to hug him? To offer him shelter. Her family's apartment was big enough... They wouldn't even have to see each other. She couldn't help but smiled. It wasn't good, at least from what she had been told but if that meant helping him, it made it worth it to her. Echo stepped forward, grabbing his wrist. "I...I think I need to know." She said, looking up to met his eyes again. Her's probably reflected how scared she was, but she didn't care. "Take the energy. Plus I don't want you to get in trouble!" Echo chuckled, giving a brave grin. Sami-Fire Ye, that's fine, I guess. Derp on my part. I need the battles. lmao! XD But this was so fun and aklsfajkf these two. <3 lol

"Are you sure about that?" Echo was very brave indeed. Maybe a bit too trusting, but the point still stood. Paracelsian turned around and gently reached for Echo's shoulder. "All right. Thank you for helping me to maintain my cover. Let me know when you want me to stop, and I will, I promise." Even if she chickened out and didn't let him take much at all, it would be helpful for making him still look like an obedient Negaverse soldier. Sucking in a breath, he focused and began the energy drain, an orb of purplish energy coalescing in his free hand.
