Physical Description: Asymmetrical, short, strawberry blond hair, usually tied with a braid. Gray-blue eyes behind owl-like spectacles. Orri holds himself as a meek scholar, yet he's got muscles and a lithe frame that says he should be otherwise. Currently stands at 5'8" and doesn't seem to be done growing somehow.
Personality: While Orri has inherited his father's joie de vivre, he tends to tone it down to avoid seeming embarrassing. It's clear he's trying to stand out among his many children and be a shining example to his mother, but his self-consciousness gets in the way of really being in the moment. Nonetheless, he has a deep sense of loyalty to friends and family, and he'll throw himself Between before he betrays or disappoints them.
In a word, he's...a nerd. Namely, he knows a lot about his particular craft, particular points on the body that help this or that, how to use various mixtures to help cure minor ailments in a soak, and so forth. This probably stems from his eagerness to please. It's definitely what causes him to stay physically active, as he doesn't want to appear defenseless or weak.
It's hard to make him angry, but if something threatens those close to him, he becomes intractable and reckless on their behalf. For the most part, though, Orri tries to be a diplomat in mannerisms, able to see both sides of a situation before offering advice. Of course, he's usually blind to his own problems and can be a bit dense when it comes to romance. His head is usually somewhere else rather on himself. In fact, the only time he does think about himself is if he thinks others are judging him, in which he experiences a sudden anxiety spike and works even harder to appear like nothing is wrong.
He longs to be a hero instead of a mild-mannered kid, like he imagines Herg'r is. Sometimes that means going beyond his comfort zone, though he'll be quick to apologize immediately and to anyone around once he does. After all, the rare moments he gives into impulses usually lead to more trouble than he thinks.

History: Cauldron Cothold, nestled in the mountains near High Reaches Weyr, began as a small gathering place when locals learned how to harness naturally heated lakes to their own advantage. Originally another stopping spot for miners and dragonriders to relax between shifts, it eventually grew into a true (if small) settlement and enjoys the protection of High Reaches in particular when Threadfall occurs. It was here that Orri was born, 9 months after one such dragonrider met with a courtesan and decided he wanted "the full package."
Since then, Orri hasn't had an eventful childhood. He grew up in Cauldron Cothold and learned massagecraft next to others his age, hoping to be of use to their protectors and the hardworking miners that passed by. He did, however, enjoy occasional visits form his father, and from there it sparked an adulation of dragonriders everywhere, especially Herg'r. He longed to be part of the Candidates waiting for Theirs at the hold but kept his nose to the grindstone and let the hope be a quiet, thrumming one in his chest.
It didn't stop him from trying to be near every dragon possible when they came, however. Orri eventually was chatted up by a Searchrider, and it became the Greatest Day of His Life to transfer to High Reaches. Although he misses his mother terribly and writes when he can, he's excited to be eligible to join the people who had protected his home and make something of himself--make his father proud, most of all.
