Pendour was out. She'd been told that she was meant to be a protector, and she had full intentions of taking that responsibility seriously. It had also been implied that given the strength of the Negaverse and their philosophy against violence, she would fail. She was a few months in now, and so far things were going very anticlimactically. She was still alive, which was nice, but she hadn't exactly been acting as a guardian either. This was mainly because the few times she'd been out, she hadn't encountered anyone particularly dastardly. Well, except for the small, angry cat, but that was a different story. She had a feeling that all that was about to change. It wasn't some emotional thing, either. It seemed to be an aura, floating around dark and cold in her mind in contrast to the brighter ones that she'd felt previously. She stopped in her tracks in the middle of the sidewalk, unsure of what to do. Could she find the person if she wanted to? What would she do if she found them and they were doing something unfortunate? Well, that was going to have to be a moment by moment decision. For now, if she could only make herself a target rather than anyone else around... She summoned her ocarina and blew into it, blasting out a fairly loud, very off key note. Kapoodles Sorry this took a bit, I'm in finals at the moment

Whatever the Negaverse told him to do, Zubeneschamali only half found himself invested. This wasn't entirely his choice to join them. No, he was here because of his sister. He would follow that girl to the ends and the world and back, and it worked out well, most of the time, anyway.
Today, it seemed to work out in his favor as he hopped from roof top to roof top simply exploring around and ignoring this so called 'quota' that he was told to fill. He'd deal with that some other time, right now he was simply enjoying this newfound power he had. What responsibility did he have to these people, taking care of them, 'protecting them' as some would say would be their goal with powers like these. No. He had no obligation to these people at all. None of them were any special than the next, so draining ultimately came easy.
Right now though, he was curious, seeing what he could do and who he would encounter in this new mysterious 'underbelly' of the world.
Perhaps underbelly was the wrong word, but he certainly wasn't doing the world any favors by draining people. Or maybe he was? He didn't care.
What 'Mali did care about was this new interesting aura he felt. It was bright, almost scalding, blinding and annoyingly so, and the first instinct as with all bright lights was to snuff them out. He followed her for a few good moments once he spotted her from the roof top, keeping just a little behind until she stopped and let out a note from whatever horrid instrument she held in her hands. At first, he was simply going to ignore her and go on his way after observing her actions for a while, but that note, now that had to be 'crushed'.
"What a wretched sound!" He half growled as he jumped from the roof, landing straight before the beautifully dressed young woman, immediately annoyed that she did look as gorgeous close up as she did from afar. How could someone so lovely be so dammed annoying before she even opened her damned mouth?!
"Ah... You're a Knight aren't you? Then I won't feel bad about this." Without another word he lunged at the Neptune knight, not looking to hurt her, but looking to snatch away that awful little excuse for an instrument and crush it in his hands.

Pendour stood with her feet planted in the sidewalk badly playing her ocarina. It was a bit painful for her to listen to it, as well, but it seemed to be working. The unfortunate part of all this was that the way she could tell that was because the aura, like someone silently walking up on you in a dark room when you were supposed to be alone, was getting closer to her. Her skin pricked out in goosebumps under her gloves. She shivered. She started to hear the physical sound of footsteps. There was a flash of movement. Someone dropped down from above. Pendour's song, if you could call it that, halted in its tracks as she gave a startled gasp behind her instrument. She gave him a quick look up and down. It was a strange sight, even by the magical standards she was starting to become accustomed to. Scholomance had been the picture of death, but this boy looked broken. The lines on his joints matched the holes in his chest and head. Pendour blinked. So this was what Chaos sickness did to people. She took a half step forwards, lowering her ocarina as her brow furrowed. He promptly snatched it away. She didn't fight him on it, although she did wince as the ceramic shattered in his grasp. Those pieces looked like they could be sharp. She would hate it if he ended up cutting his hands. She took a step backwards and looked up at him, wide eyed and slightly worried. "I really did have that one coming," she said. "Or, um, hello." Her newly empty hands began to twist at her bracelets.

After 'Mali shattered the instrument in his hand, he dropped it to the ground, digging his heel into it, grinding it as best as he could to dust. He could feel a few nicks on his hand from the ceramic, but ultimately he was fine and simply wiped the few traces of blood on his shorts. Finally the horrid thing was silent, unable to assault his ears any longer! And yet still before him stood that knight, though just a few feet further away than before. That was fine. Better further away and quiet than close up and grinding on his nerves.
"Yes, you did. What sort of greeting was that? Who are you to be going around like a damned pied piper of horrendous atrocities laid onto people's ears? Have you no respect? Probably not, you're a knight after all." For her steps backwards, he took his own step backwards, glare hard on her, only adding to the creepiness of the joints painted onto his skin and the holes that showed in his forehead and chest. While he gave them no real thought, he knew it frightened some, and he often used that to his advantage.
""Do you know what happens to people like you, who have no respect for others? They get punished. Zube's Game." A doll appeared in his hands and with a smooth motion he wound it up, setting on the ground between them. Now it was time to play his 'own' game.
stari_maga Hehe, Pendour, it's makeup! <3 The joints anyway. Sailor Scout Attack: Zube's Game Mali Summons a Small Automaton named Zube and winds him up and places it on the ground. The Automaton is not activated until an opponent sees it, and can be picked up and placed elsewhere by Mali or another of his allies. Once someone looks at the doll, they are forced to approach it and follow Zube's Pre-installed Movements which goes as follows
"Three steps to the Left, Three steps to the right, Spin in Place, Raise right hand, left hand behind back, and Bow"
This action preoccupies the user for 5 seconds, and at the end of the 'performance', Zube explodes. The explosion is is minor, and is only strong enough send the opponent back a few feet, but no other damage is sustained

While it was true that Pendour had been being rather loud, she wasn't sure that her poor ocarina deserved such harsh treatment. It wasn't as though she could play it anymore. It didn't need to be a pile of rubble, but there it was, right under his shoe. She thought that she could probably summon it back, but she did not want to further annoy him. She winced harder at his accusations than at his destruction of property. "I understand," she said. She did not feel that arguing was the way to go, here. Perhaps if he could burn through his anger now he wouldn't have so much left for anyone else who came along. "I just wanted to see that you were not committing atrocities on people, as a whole. I'll rethink my strategy on checking that for the future." But he was already calling something strange and pulling a little doll from the air. Was that his weapon? It matched him. Still, Pendour did not have a lot of time to think about all that before she was pulled forwards and found her body moving without her telling it to. She looked up, eyes wider, and asked, "What is this?" There was of course the magic of summoning weapons and going to space, but she had never seen anything like this. She stepped to the left. She stepped to the right. She spun. She bowed. Then, just as she found herself back in control, it burst and sent her flying. She didn't go particularly far, but she did scrape her palms up in an attempt to catch herself only to land hard on her knees anyway. She looked up. "Well, that was unpleasant. Are you satisfied now?" Kapoodles Yeah, she's still figuring out what's magical and what isn't

For the first time test of his magic, 'Mali thought it went rather well, finding delight in the fact that she was forced to follow his magic. Yet he wasn't sated by the simple explosion. No.
Especially not with her brushing it off so nonchalantly. It only served to infuriate him more.
"Not quite." Instead of backing off and giving her the time needed to get up an leave, he ran up towards her, aiming a kick to hit her as hard as he could in her side. Those damned knights just existing pissed him off.

Pendour knew that a lot of conflict came from competition over resources. Silence was was a resource, certainly, and she could understand the reason he had reacted to her sound, which was why she’d acted as she did, but now her instrument was long shattered and she couldn’t understand why he would keep her. Hairs on the back of her neck prickled as she kept staring him down after his magic. This wasn’t even close to anything she’d experienced before, and her instincts were screaming at her that something was off. And that preoccupied moment was when he decided to kick her right under the ribs. It knocked the breath right out of her lungs in a half-scream, half gasp of deep pain. She doubled over. Then, she lifted her head just enough to , her eyes deer in headlights shocked for all that her face was pulled tight from pain. That was when her flight response kicked in. She took off down the sidewalk.

What 'Mali really found himself wanting in this situation was a 'reaction'. Being a senshi, having this 'power', it felt like it meant nothing if he couldn't make people fear and listen to him.
For a moment, it seemed like it worked, and in the next he grinned as he watched the young woman run off. Not exactly his most ideal reaction, but this he could live with. She was afraid, and that's exactly what he wanted. Let her go out and spread her fear, tell tales of a 'crazed, irritable' senshi who hurt her for no reason other than her sounds.
It was more than enough for him. In his own little way of thanks, he didn't pursue the woman, choosing instead to watch her run. Surely there were others out there like her, naive little idiots who needed to realize not everyone was friendly.
Who was he to deny them that lesson?
stari_maga And that's a fin from me, if that works for you! biggrin Since powers were used and attacks made, you can use this as a battle.
