“Don’t worry it’s fine” Acrucis’ expression turned into an amused smile.
“It’s okay to ask questions.” Her mood, however, quickly shifted; the smile she wore was not really meant to last as a more somber expression shadowed her pale features. For a brief moment Acrucis allowed her gaze to wonder over the individuals struggling to sit up to those limping away through the tree line while using a comrade as a crutch.
“Unfortunately our magic is finite. Even if we were to practice using our attacks every day for the next three years our capacity remains the same unless a mauvian steps in and upgrades our powers. Even then, it only goes so far.”“For me…” The Senshi of Prayer paused to turn her attention back to Ananke.
“I go into every fight knowing I won’t be able to protect everyone; if I could then nobody would be walking away from here hurt. The hard part, in the midst of a battle, is having to make a choice on who to heal. Which is why I can only hope that the person, or people, that I help will have the ability to protect the ones I can’t” Even if it meant casting her Prayer of Mending on a Corrupt or General; if they had the strength or power to stop Omega then she would do it in a heartbeat.
“We were lucky this time.” Acrucis placed a gentle hand on the other senshi’s shoulder and offered her a genuine smile.
“Because we all were able to set aside our hard feeling towards each other and were able to work together to hold Omega off long enough for Delta to regain control and get us all out safely.” Some were a bit worse for wear but at least they’d see the sun rise tomorrow.
“There’s probably still several agents out there who weren’t sucked into this whole mess. If you wouldn’t mind the company I’d be happy to walk you home or someplace safe until your magic replenishes.” Thankfully Acrucis wasn’t completely spent, close but as her cousin often said close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. She still had a few heals left in her arsenal before she’d become completely useless.
