Sonyo stumbled back, wide eyed, as Taylor pushed away from her. This was all her fault, every bit of it was her fault... if she would have been there to protect him, to guide him- The boy let out a shrill sound, and Sonyo's heart stopped as she felt nature chakra seep out of him like something rotten. She felt Shukaku writhe inside her in discomfort as well-- unnatural, corrupted, wrong. Someone had stuck this abomination inside her baby! Anger flared inside her at the thought of someone doing something so terrible as to corrupt the mother's energy, her hands balled in to fists, her lip settled in to a hard line. But now wasn't time to be angry, now was the time to fix what she had done. Quickly pushing through the heavy mass of nature chakra seeping around her adopted son, Sonyo set her hands on the boy and prayed
She focused all the chakra she could muster in to her hands if she could keep ahold of him-- cold, colder, coldest. She had to stop him, before he hurt himself or someone else. Someone like Emiko, or Tetsuhiko-- friends. He would never forgive himself. She prayed for the Mother to help her, to give her the strength she needed to do what she was about to do. The air around taylor would suddenly feel cold, like it was winter only where he was. The drop in temperature didn't seem to effect Sonyo but the boy would then begin to feel sleepy, slow, and then... nothing. Within a matter of seconds, Taylor would be encapsulated in a thin shell of ice. Rainbows of aurora would dance inside the crystal clear material as her chakra kept the child inside alive.

Taylor's screams disbursed when Sonyo's hands touched him. The burning sensation throughout his flesh halted, and was replaced with cold gentleness. He felt sleepy. He was finding it hard to stay awake. "I'm sorry... Mom." He said before his eyes shut. The marks on his body returned to their seal as the ice encased him. May he have a good dream while Sonyo's love helped stabilize him.

Safely back in the kitchen, Yoshiro heaved a heavy sigh of relief. He was grateful to have escaped all the insanity that was brewing outside. It was strange, the restaurant was normally a quiet, peaceful establishment but for some reason, the place had become consumed by chaos. His father was lucky to be tucked away in the back away from it all. Honestly, if it wasn't for Emiko, Yoshiro would have stayed with him. 'Oh well. Guess it can't be helped.' he thought. At least he'd bet a few minutes of peace while he prepared another bowl of udon for them.

First thing first, Yoshiro needed to clean the bowls that he and Emiko had used. Making his way over to the sink, he turned on the water and allowed it to fun for a few seconds. Once the water had reached the proper temperature, proceeded to wash the two bowls.
Fortunately, because Yoshiro was washing so soon after their food, the food hadn't had any time to set and was quite easy to cleaned. Not that there was even much clean. Both he and Emiko had practically inhaled their bowls, leaving hardly anything behind.
After Yoshiro was satisfied with his cleaning, he proceeded to dry the dishes. Throughout all of this he was very careful not to mix the two bowls, making sure he knew for sure which one was his. Not he was concerned about germs or anything of that sort, but something about the thought of using a bowl that Emiko had used made him feel........strange.

With both bowls properly cleaned, Yoshiro moved on to preparing for the meal. His father had filled several orders during the past several hours, so unfortunately, all the ingredients he had prepared that morning had been mostly used up. Yoshiro didn't mind too much, as it wouldn't take him much time to gather what he needed, now that he actually knew what he was making for Emiko.
Starting with the beef, Yoshiro grabbed a slab and located a cutting board and knife he could make use of. Once everything was in place, he began to slice the beef into thin strips. After this he decided to proceed to the other ingredients that he would need for the dish.
Fortunately, there were only two ingredients that he would be cooking with the beef, ginger root and green onion. Beginning with the ginger root, he cut it into slices, doing his best to keep them as thin as he had made the beef strips. As for the onions, he didn't need to keep them any particular size so he was able to simply dice, though he still did his best to keep his work consistent.
After he was done, he moved on to preparing the most important ingredient, the noodles. Being second nature to the boy, he was able to whip up a small batch of dough in no time at all and cut it into the proper shape. With all that said and done, he was ready to prepare the beef udon.

Returning from the kitchen with two fresh bowls of beef udon, Yoshiro was grinning from ear to ear, proud of his culinary accomplishment. "Alright, Emiko. Order..........up?" His words trailed off as he noticed that Emiko was nowhere in sight, his smile fading into a look of confusion. 'Where'd she go?' he pondered, setting the two bowls down on the counter. Taking a closer look at the place, it seemed that the mother and son had also disappeared (though sadly the obnoxious musician was still outside). Curious, he wondered if Emiko had just stepped out for some air? He had been in the kitchen for quite some time.
Suddenly, Yoshiro heard a violent cry echo through the streets of the restaurant district. Leaping into action, he jumped out from behind the counter and rushed for the front door. After bursting out of the shop, he began scanning the surrounding area frantically, looking for some sign that would lead him to the source of the disturbance. Eventually, he did spot Emiko off in the distance and quickly rushed to her position.
Running to Emiko's side, Yoshiro was able to get a better picture of the situation. The mother and son from earlier were also there and it seemed that the boy was sleeping his mother's arms. He still had no idea actually happened but he was able to sense a heaviness in the air. Something intense had definitely happened in his absence. "What's going on?" he asked Emiko discretely, not wanting to disturb the others.
The hyouton user breathed a sigh of relief as Taylor calmed down, then looked up at Emiko and Yoshiro with an apologetic smile. "All if fine now, I'm sorry for interrupting your date. I just wanted some food, I swear, but trouble has it's way of finding me." Sonyo stood, sand forming under Taylor that then began to lift up. She bowed deeply to the two gennin, then walked off with Taylor. "I'll see you again soon, Emiko! We'll give you some more training!" Sonyo would exit the Restaurant district on her way back to the Temple. On the way, she'd drop Taylor off at the hospital to be watched while he dethawed and to be kept under surveillance.

Still thoroughly confused as to what had transpired here, Emiko looked between Taylor and Sonyo with a very perplexed expression. Although Taylor's final words had caught her off guard. "I'm sorry...Mom."
"Mom?!" Emiko said in surprise. Was Sonyo that old? Taylor looked to be about her age or so and yet, here he was calling Sonyo his mother. After watching him slowly drift into unconsciousness, Emi looked to her for answered but received none. Yoshiro came running out beside her in just as a confused and concerned state. "What's going on?" That was a pretty good question. One that Emiko was trying to uncover herself. "I dunno. I just heard yelling and then came out to see that guy screaming...Then Sonyo put him to sleep." After summarizing the events for him, Sonyo would look up towards them.
"All if fine now, I'm sorry for interrupting your date."
Emiko's face had turned as red as it could ever be, more so than her hair. Off in a hurry, she promised to see Emiko again, the poor Genin waving back. "B-Buh-By-Bye, Sonyo..." Her mind was now in a tangled web of thoughts. Was this some kind of date? They were eating lunch together but not exclusively, right? It was a restaurant so that meant it didn't count. Not that she didn't like the sound of it. Emiko didn't mean it that way! No! s**t!
"S-Sorry, Yoshi. I wanted this to be a nice d-" she stopped herself short before shaking her head. "A nice lunch with you. But it turned into a whole thing..."

Yoshiro listened as Emiko gave him a quick run down of what she knew of the situation. Apparently the boy had been the source of the scream that he had heard, so at least that portion of the mystery was solved. Although the question of what had caused the scene though still remained, Yoshiro decided to drop the matter. The boy was in the care of his mother, a woman he recognized from the aftermath of the Uzukage Tower incident, and he felt it was best to leave the matter to her. After all, Emiko seemed to trust her well enough, so that was good enough reason for him to let the matter go.
As Sonyo took her leave though, her parting words left quite the impact on Yoshiro. Well, one word in particular, that is. "Date" The word was like a bullet to his brain, creating a strange mix of dumbfounded and panic. Date, was that what this was supposed to be? He thought he was just cooking for Emiko and having a meal with her. Is that what a date was? These were entirely uncharted waters for Yoshiro and he felt like he was in way over his head. Wasn't dating something that couples did? Were he and Emiko a couple? He definitely didn't remember having that conversation.
Thankfully, before Yoshiro could spiral any further, Emiko spoke up, pulling him back into reality. It did give his mind peace to hear her refer to the encounter as "lunch" rather than a da-..........another type of encounter. Still, an awkwardness lingered in the air and Yoshiro could feel a faint blush form on his cheeks. "I mean, I thought it was kinda nice." He meant this sincerely, though the shakiness of his voice probably didn't do the best job of conveying this sentiment. "Sure, things got a little.....crazy......but I liked cooking for you so that was, you know.......nice." He did his best to better articulate his feelings, but as he continued to speak, he could feel himself growing more and more awkward. By the end, he found himself doing all he could to avoid eye contact with her, rubbing the back of his neck in a nervous fashion.
There was a brief pause before Yoshiro suddenly remembered something important. "The udon!!" he exclaimed. That's right. The second bowl of beef udon he had made for Emiko was still sitting on the counter in the shop. If they waited much longer, someone else might eat their food or worse, the food could grow cold. No one wanted to eat cold udon. "C'mon! We gotta get back while it's still hot!" Taking Emiko's hand, he'd begin to run back to the shop, his pace quick but hopefully not too fast for her to keep up with him.
__ Tetsuhiko watched Taylor have a complete breakdown seemingly. "Wow, I never knew my art had such a profound affect on him. Oh well, sometimes you do have to face the music." He thought to himself without even the possibility of considering that Taylor perhaps had other subjects for his intense emotions. Tetsuhiko then gathered his band and left the scene incredibly quickly. He had new horizones to head towards!

It was nice to know that Yoshi to shared her feelings towards calling this little encounter of theirs the dreaded d word. She blushed a little more and wound give it some thought. "N-Not that there's anything wrong with that. We're friends...On a squad and all. We just need to...uh, do stuff, I think " She was blowing it big time. What would Yoshi say about her little slip of tongue as the words in her mind had slithered out without her noticing? The poor healer! Curse her inability to do social things well! She dreaded his response but so far it seemed like he had only just now remembered about the second helping of beef udon he had made for her. It was a good thing too, as Emiko had forgotten about that as well. Her hand met with Yoshi's as he pulled he back in. She caught up and sat back down where they had been speaking to prior before the interruptions.
It was a quiet time, for a moment or so. Emiko was enjoying her second helping as she could break the thoughts away. Why were they bothering her so good damn much? It was just a friendly meet! Something she had been looking forward to for a long time. The last of the noodles were slurped before Emiko would speak again. "S-So Yoshi, tell me a bit about you now. Your mother and you have asked about me. I wanted to know about you."

After rushing back to the shop, Yoshiro was relieved to find their udon was still on the counter where he had left them. While the bowls had cooled down, thankfully they had gotten back before they reached room temperature. It would have been a huge embarrassment for him to serve a lukewarm meal. With both of his concerns put at ease, Yoshiro joined Emiko at the bar to dig in.
Yoshiro hardly noticed the silence between himself and Emiko as they ate. Truthfully, he was thankful that serenity had once more fallen over his family's little noodle shop. He may have enjoyed the chaos of things like going on missions and getting into fights, but not here. The restaurant was a sacred place for him, meant purely for peacefully enjoying the wonders of the culinary arts. Now that all the crying and wailing singing had ceased, Yoshiro was once more able to find his zen.
Just as Yoshiro took the last bite of his udon, the silence between them was broken with a question from Emiko. Turning his attention to her, he gave her a somewhat quizzical look. "Hmm?" he mumbled through closed lips, his mouth still full of noodles. Realizing that has current state was not conducive for conversation, he quickly swallowed and let out a soft sigh. 'Man that hit the spot.' he thought, trying not to pat himself on the back too much.
Returning his attention to Emiko, Yoshiro wasn't quite sure how to answer her question. "You want to know about me?" He pondered the question for a moment. As boastful as he could be on the battle field, in this moment he found it difficult to come up with an answer for her. After all, she'd seen him fight and now she'd seen him cook. If you asked him, that pretty much summed him up. What more did she want to know? "Uhhhh. What do you wanna know?" he asked, deciding to take the direct approach rather than trying to figure it out on his own.
Luckily for Coda, there was something to take her mind off unwittingly being given the cold shoulder by the Uzukage. An excuse to stretch the legs of her creativity, and make something worth the time being put in. She'd keep it small though, as she doubted people wanted the type of statement she'd seek to make taking up a whole wall. [ Graffiti Welcome 1/3 ]
For this particular piece she'd keep it simple: An all black representation of the exceptionally opulent office of the Uzukage. It would be hard to represent the effects the village had on her life up to that point, at least in a way palatable to people coming to a restaurant. Coda wrapped up her work and returned her paint to the bin set out for people to add to the mosaic. She took a moment to step back on look at her creation, and the other creations that already sat beside it, losing herself in thought for a moment. With a sigh she produced a pair of headbands, tying an old, worn out Leaf band prominently around her neck. The Whirlpool band was set about her waist, mostly obscured by the black jacket she wore, and she headed on her way. [ Graffiti Welcome 3/3 ]
Emiko didn't exactly know the answer to that question herself. She was busy dabbing her mouth with a napkin so there wouldn't be a mess by the counter that Yoshiro and her were parked at. Think for a moment, she finally came up with the answer to her question as she looked back at her friend. "Y'know, stuff about you. What were you like as a younger child? funny stories about your parents, why you became a ninja, that sorta stuff." Emi hoped that her guidance had helped steer the conversation into something easier for Yoshi to open up to her about. Every now and again, he might catch her looking away while her fingers tapped on the counter, returning a few seconds later.
"I'll start us off, okay?" she smiled. "I don't have any parent stories because of the, uh...thing. But I do have some stories when I first started coming to the academy. I was super scared and held onto the teacher all the time. Oh! Or like thattime when Kairi and Asena and I all hung out at the park. Kairi did this cool thing where he used his hyoton to make a surfboard and Asena and I rode it. It was fun. And then he..." Emiko trailed off, looking off as her expression darkened to one that was vulnerable, sullen even. Her change in mood was noticeable, her chest having a wrecking sensation as a lump formed in her throat. "They haven't been back since..." Emiko remained silent before shaking her head. "N-No! Not thinking that! You're with Yoshiro. He won't leave you." She mumbled to herself before forcing out a smile and cheerful expression to him.
"J-Just like that." Emiko said.

A roving group of ten Masato clones landed in the area. The scene around them made little difference, he would open his Yomotsu Hirasaka Gate that connected to the Ninshuu Temple. " Everyone here needs to evacuate the village. We've only minutes before it is lost. " The clones would begin to usher those nearby into the portal to safety. Once they would be safely inside the portal, he would shut it and disperse the clones.
