Tonight, Crocoite was out for blood. He had recently run into his General, who was more out of her mind than usual. She was unhappy with his progress and his energy pulls for quota, resulting in an impromptu 'sparring' session that left Crocoite badly beaten. It took dipping into his apparently already insufficient stores of energy to heal himself, and he still sported a long cut down his cheek and a dark bruise over his eye despite his efforts to patch himself up.

But he would show her. He would prove he was stronger than she thought. And soon, he would be stronger than her and be able to pay her back for some of the hard lessons she thought she was teaching him.

And maybe, in a way, he respected her for it. For now, though, all he felt was anger and a burning need for revenge.

Tonight, he wanted starseeds. If she was unhappy with his energy, then he would get her what she really wanted. She loved blood and death, after all, and seemed like she was only happy when everything was on fire. He needed to get out from under her foot, and establish his own name.

His namesake was fitting, though. Like a crocodile, he was very patient.

Eyes flashing in the darkness, Crocoite felt an aura not too far away. He did not care what it was, so long as it was White Moon. Even if they were stronger than him, he was going to do his damn best to defeat them. He moved toward it, leaping up to a rooftop and lunging across the gaps between buildings to close the distance.

When her mother had left to go to tend to some things related to her studies at DCU, Anser waited five minutes, and then slipped out of her apartment to the streets below.

She was a superhero now. Her mother had told her to stay home, and perhaps her mother had grounded her after she had randomly showed up at 7am in the morning (she didn't seem to buy the "impromptu sleepover" excuse), but Anser didn't really care. Being a superhero and needing to protect the city overrode any of this nonsense about being grounded. She could finally do something. If she could defeat all the bad guys out here, maybe no one would ever disappear on her again.

It made Anser feel important, too, like she had a mission -- and that mission was defeating chaos.

She noticed the sensation of an aura nearby, and now that she had run into a few of them, she was starting to notice there seemed to be differences between certain types of Chaos. This didn't feel like that mean lady she ran into the other day, so perhaps this was one of those agents again?

Either way, it didn't matter. They were both bad and Anser needed to kick their a**.

Being a chibi, she had realized she couldn't quite jump as high as the other senshi, so she kept herself low to the ground, heading in the direction of the pounding dark aura.

Crocoite leaped off the building and landed near to where he felt the aura. It was definitely White Moon, but it was strange. Weaker? Or littler. He was quick to see why.

These were those little senshi he'd seen before. The Chibi ones, which were even younger than the normal ones. Who he was already usually older than. It was not great, in a moral sense, to have to fight people so much weaker than him all the time. It was like picking on kids in the park, really.

Thankfully, he did not have a strong moral compass at the moment, and hardly let the thought settle before he threw it from his mind.

"A little late for children to be out and about, don't you think?" He said with a growl, holding his cane in front of him and resting his hands on its head. The crocodile snout was the perfect side for his palms, and allowed him to lean leisurely on the head with good balance.

"It's dangerous out here alone, even for adults."

She wasn't oblivious to the fact that the guy was clearly large and also clearly older than her, but Anser couldn't care. It didn't matter how old he was, or how large he was. She had faced large things before. This guy was smaller than that Omega thing, at least.

And then he was sassing her about how young she was.

Anser, who clearly had not taken the advice of not being so reckless very well, rolled her eyes to the sky and shook her head after glancing to the side. "Do all of you evil guys instantly go for the children insults? Don't you have anything better?"

Yes, because needling him was clearly the right choice when faced with someone bigger than her. Having taken most of her fighting advice from comic books, she didn't necessarily see the problem with banter.

"I'm thirteen, thank you," added Anser, because of course, she couldn't entirely let it go.

She eyed his cane while she was talking. That seemed like an easy target. Her eyes flicked back up to the agent's face as she swept her foot out, attempting to knock it out of his hands. Evil man was using a cane? She'd take care of that problem.

Crocoite watched her passively for a long moment, shaking his head and tapping his finger against the head of his cane. The crocodile head that topped the weapon sat just as quietly as the negaverse agent himself, both sharing the same, contemplative, dangerous expression. Sizing up prey, as was natural for a predator like the crocodile.

"A whole thirteen years, hm? You act like that means something. In all your long years, have you managed to do anything worth remembering yet? If you were to die tonight, how quickly will you be forgotten?"

Crocoite saw her move, letting go of his cane and letting it fall. It vanished for a moment, only to be called back to his hand as he banished it to subspace for only a second before summoning it to him and launching into an attack almost immediately.

He grinned, charging forward and swinging at her with the cane. He had no need to pull his punches, just wanting to teach a very swift lesson about the way of this war.

Anser wanted to say that she had done something worth remembering, something that was truly worthwhile, but her brain drew up a blank.

She wasn't worth anything, and she knew that.

The feeling smacked her just as the cane smacked her in the head, Anser dizzied by the hit. She stumbled back, grabbing at her head for a moment. Her ears were ringing, maybe? Is that what people meant when they said they got their bell rung or whatever? It sounded like a weird term but--

She stumbled once again, before she pulled her arms out and steadied herself.

Tricky old dude wasn't going to win against her! Anser was worth something, and that something was in defeating the supervillains! She was a superhero now, after all, and superheroes could save the world. She could save people like her brother from getting kidnapped again, and she could save people from this nasty dude with his honestly kinda ugly crocodile cane.

-- Actually it was kinda cool and it could appear and disappear which was badass but it was ugly now --

She was smaller than him, and so, she dived for his feet in an attempt to knock him down.

Crocoite wondered whose child this little brat was, and if they would make a public display about her disappearance. Or would she just die in silence, with no one to cry over her? He had been distanced from his family when growing up, forcibly, and he held no love for parents or children at this point.

There was no such thing as a happy family, and tragedy could strike at any time. Sometimes, he liked to be the harbinger of that tragedy.

When she made a dive for his feet he took a step back, but she managed to latch on to him with a surprisingly, though it should not have been since they were both powered and thus boosted in strength, tight grip on his legs. He wavered, nearly getting knocked down, but managed to keep himself upright.

"Foolish," he growled, "you're just giving me weak points to access." It was a hard lesson to learn, which he meant to punctuate by slamming his cane, which was flat on the bottom with a sturdy plastic cap, straight down onto her back.
PostPosted: Wed Jun 20, 2018 9:18 am

She managed to grab his foot. Now all she needed to do was rip it out from underneath him. Why was he not going down? Anser attempted to push as hard as she could, frustrated he was wavering but not actually going to the ground. He needed to go to the ground--

He was saying some words, and Anser wasn't totally paying attention, but she heard a sudden gust above her and she was at least sharp enough to realize that meant something was coming at her. She rolled, still keeping her grip on his leg, but she didn't roll quite far enough to avoid the cane. It came down hard on her side, and she was fairly sure she felt some of her skin tear. Determined not to show weakness, because she was a superhero dammit, Anser bit down on her lip to hold back a scream.

She still had her grip on his leg.

Anser suddenly yanked her arms back towards herself, attempting to pull his leg up and bring him down to the ground.

"You're the evil one here!" Anser couldn't quite help snarking back, once she swallowed her scream.

Crocoite's eyes flashed as he recognized the sudden burst of crimson that escaped her side. Blood was something he had never particularly cared for before, yet now he delighted in seeing it spilling from his enemies. Maybe it was something he inherited from Painite, who was rather obsessed with the whole murder thing.

He liked to think he was more refined, but causing injury, making someone bleed, was primal and rewarding in that way.

"Damn it!"

He was pulled off his feet at last, falling over as she yanked his foot from under him. It was more the momentum of her pull than anything else, toppling his one footed balance over and leaving him momentarily vulnerable.

Not that he would let her take advantage of it.

Snarling, he rolled away from her, kicking his foot hard at whatever he could connect with so he could separate the two of them. He was not about to get into a wrestling match here: he still had SOME standards, after all. He was no street thug or common brawler. He was a hunter, a soldier, and he had to conduct himself as such.

"I've no problem admitting what I am. But if it makes you feel better, go ahead and say it like it's some sort of insult. It won't make you any less pathetic."
PostPosted: Tue Jun 26, 2018 6:30 pm

Hah, she pulled him down! Anser grinned viciously when Crocoite went down, and Anser immediately went to punch him smack dab in the gut while she had him down.

That was, until he kicked her off to the side, pushing her back and irritating the blooming red at her side. She glanced down to her side, watching the blood taint the white of her dress red. Hopefully she could clean that later...

The adrenaline kept the injury from hurting her too badly at the moment, or perhaps she was just ignoring it. It might have been the second one. She was determined to take him out, or at least get him to leave. Probably the former one, but it was hard to say she wouldn't be happy with the second. She just wanted to win.

"Aren't you the pathetic one?" coughed Anser, narrowing her eyes at the lieutenant in front of her. "You just got knocked over by a teenage girl."

She knew she was more powerful, because she was the superhero here, but that didn't mean she couldn't use her status to taunt the lieutenant. According to most video games and also real life, taunting could sometimes make people so angry they wouldn't do things well--

Now that she was apart from him, at least a little bit, Anser shouted out a, "Mother Goose!", and ran at him, foot swinging for his stomach.

Quote:
"Mother Goose!"
Geese are known for being great guards. Anser says her attack name and an ethereal gosling appears in front of her, honking. After the gosling honks out its warning, Anser finds that her reflexes are enhanced, allowing her to either better fight back physically or put some distance between her and whatever danger there may be.

Crocoite's eyes narrowed when he saw her getting ready to call her magic. He knew that senshi could be tricky because of their powers, and it was a benefit that the Negaverse was not graced with. It made them far more annoying to battle, as some of their abilities could leave the fight lopsided. At the very least, he had to stay on his guard so he did not get stuck in a trap.

He had to remember his own training, instead of just gloating about how he found the white moon to be pathetic. Even though he did, and it was something he was always compelled to bring up in conversation.

They were definitely not aware of how much they sucked.

All he really saw in this spell was a goose, though, and he momentarily found himself struck by the urge to laugh. She brought a goose to fight a crocodile?

He did not anticipate her getting faster, and was unable to stop her from landing a kick to his stomach. He did react with his own attack, though, swinging his cane for her already injured side.

"Little brat. I'll make sure you regret that!"
PostPosted: Mon Jul 09, 2018 5:49 pm

She was pretty sure the villain was not expecting that kick to the stomach, and she almost took a moment to gloat, but her heightened reflexes made her notice that there was definitely something coming back at her--

Anser felt the cane scrape against her side and she bit back a scream--as much as she did not want to admit it, that really hurt--as she dove behind him to try and get out of the way. She had a limited time to keep acting; Anser knew her ability didn't last very long. Ignoring the pain for the moment, she tried to use the last vestiges of her ability to lift her arm up and elbow him in the back before he had the time to react.

"No," she coughed, hard, "you won't!"

And then she stumbled to her feet, attempting to put some distance between them. Maybe enough distance so he couldn't hit her with that ugly cane again.

While he was hopefully distracted, once she got a bit of distance, Anser started looking around for something she could maybe just ... throw at him.

Crocoite had to let her go, needing a moment to catch his breath after being kicked so damn hard. He was not entirely sure he hadn't broken, or at the very least bruised, something important. Well, he hadn't done it: he had someone he could easily blame for it.

And someone he could get his revenge on for it, too.

The hit to the back came as he was moving away from her on instinct, and made him stumble, and he had to use his momentum to whip himself around and try to swat at her one more time with his cane. He caught his footing but was slowed by the effort, growling at her as she bounced away from him.

Back on their feet, Crocoite glared at the senshi with murderous intent, even if he was not entirely capable of pulling it off yet. When he was stronger... oh, when he was stronger.

"When I catch you, I'm going to rip your starseed out of your chest and make you eat it before you die, you miserable little brat!" he snarled venomously, clearly not a fan of being hurt or embarrassed in a fight. He charged at her, ignoring the pain in his stomach, and holding his cane like a baseball bat.
PostPosted: Mon Jul 09, 2018 7:54 pm

Anser was loathe to admit it to herself, but she was starting to think that she may not win against this villain, not this time. She needed to get away. Perhaps the next time, when she was stronger, like Cybele, when she was the best superhero she could be, when she was more powerful than the dark aura that pulsed off of the crocodile cane man--

Her eyes popped open and she gasped when she saw the lieutenant turn around, and her mind locked onto something in the environment she was pretty sure she could lift, or at least, could try to lift. Being a superhero was supposed to make her stronger, right? And she could already sorta lift those smaller metal garbage cans...

It was her best shot.

"No!" screamed Anser, lifting the trash can as best as she could and with all of her muster throwing it in the direction of the lieutenant. Her side screamed as she did that, and she swore she felt the gushing start anew. She was beginning to feel a little light headed...

She backed up further, relieved by the speed that she had as a superhero, but worried it was not working well enough.

Crocoite wanted nothing more than to catch her and make good on his promise. Watching the light fade from her eyes as she choked on her own worthless starseed would be all too pleasing. He did not even care if it resulted in him losing the starseed and being unable to deliver it to his superiors: it would be worth more on a personal level, anyway.

And he tried not to make things personal, not wanting to be a monster driven by revenge like his General. He supposed he had been trained better than he thought, in her shadow.

His charge was cut short as she threw a garbage lid at him like a high velocity, and much heavier, frisbee. He tried to block it with his cane, but failed and it slammed into his arm instead. It knocked him backwards, giving her an opening to either attack, risking a counter, or run away, risking a chase.

Really, it was whatever she thought she could pull off.
