The look on the Basilisk's face was not a happy one, in fact it was quite devoid of said positivity as she floated along the walkways of the Durem Zoo. Her reasoning for such a sour disposition were the two humans merrily chatting in front of her as they pointed out something here or there that caught their interest. They stopped briefly to view one of the exhibits more closely. It was in this moment that Cordelia's limit of tolerance had finally been met. Arms crossed and face set in stone, "I recall saying I was visiting a friend this morning. What I don't recall is inviting anyone along. So can you two please explain to me how the hell this became a family outing?"There was a moment of silence as both humans' smiles dropped, Ebony trying not to seem embarrassed nor make the girl more upset than she was already and Adrian's look becoming one of annoyance and disappointment. "Cordelia, please watch your language. There are children present." He replied soft, yet curtly, looking slight at the other zoo's patrons as they passed them. "And what's wrong with wanting to spend time with your family? It's been a long while since we've all been together to enjoy something like this. Besides, I really look forward to meeting this Sam that you've spoken so highly of."Being reminded of their impromptu audience did make Delia more mindful of her next words and actions, but it did not make her any happier to be lectured in public. Silver eyes narrowing, the Frei hissed back, "Fine. I see there is nothing I can do to persuade you otherwise, Grandfather." The way she referred to him then was cold and distant, not the cheery rendition she was accustomed to. It could even be seen as threatening to any onlookers who happened by then. Looking uncomfortable, Ebony pleaded with a nervous laugh. "Can you two just not for like two seconds? The zoo is suppose to be a fun place."Both Cordelia and Adrian sighed in unison, a sign they were in agreement and entering truce mode. Delia was the first to speak, "I'm heading to the reptile house. Stay, follow, whatever, I don't care." And with that she was off, not even bothering to wait for their decision.

The Reptile house was a rather large house just past the Nocturnal House, surrounded large trees to give it a shaded and out of the way look. It almost looked as if it were made of trees, large logs were attached to the outside to give it a more natural feel. The entrance was split, a hallway going either way into the building. Lighting was low in, almost a twilight sense of lighting. Some people leaving commented there wasn't sound playing in the house like some of the others. So it didn't feel as natural because there were no forest sounds or something. A sign outside said it was a free roam house but also had guided tours at certain times. The walkway made a winding path through the house with different habitats and homes for the scaly citizens on both sides of the wall. The walls themselves were black so in the low light the habitat seemed to glow. Each habitat seemed carefully crafted to be as natural as possible with proper lightning for the animal as well as items found in their natural home decorating the area. But the glass stilled allow for viewing. Signs along the wall told viewers the glass they were looking through was one way, that the animals could not see them. This tended to discourage people from tapping on the glass to get the animal's attention given they couldn't see them to begin with. Each area had a sign to tell patrons about the animal they were looking at such as habitat, native country, food, and other little science tidbits. Some signs also specified the animal was bred in captivity or was a rescue. Near a very large glass viewing area, Sam stood telling the patrons about the young anaconda they were housing. The redhead seemed so proud talking about him, as if it were her own child. "And as you can see, Fenton likes to stay submerged in the water most of the time. In fact his name mean's marsh settlement. He's very young for an anaconda, so while he may seem big to you he's not even half grown yet. He's more like a preteen in age. About as moody too. Seems that carries over in all species," she chuckled. Several parents and elders also chuckled. The group moved on and Sam checked her watch, wondering how Reinhart was doing. Said Raevan had taken up his favorite spot in the zoo. Behind the Reptile house was a large walkway that seemed to be a division of paths. There were also some snack carts and drink machines there for patrons to stop and refuel. Reinhart liked to sit and watch, judging people as they walked. From the way they were dressed to the slump of their shoulders to even the phones they took pictures with. The difference amused him. His bench was in a shaded area, keeping him from direct sunlight. During his mother's turn as guide and fact giver in the house he would enjoy his time there.

After a few moments of huffy zig-zagging her way through throngs of people, Cordelia pulled off to a less crowded area and stopped. Looking around she realized neither of her guardians had bothered to chase after her. The snake gave a bit of a pout. Yes, it was probably wisest to let Delia go off and let off some steam, but she also had wanted them to come after her and beg for forgiveness. Or well, in a more realistic sense, apologize for upsetting her. Delia’s dark lips let slip a sound of annoyance and on reflex her hands went searching for her cigarettes. Though she had only started using them as a means to get in a quick, convenient snack (most especially during the winter months), it seemed nowadays the Basilisk was using them more and more for stress relief. This was most likely a bad sign of addiction, but was it really when your main food source just happened to be smoke? She was just about to place the cigarette she’d found in her mouth, completely ignoring all the ‘do not smoke’ signs, when a familiar flash of red and white caught her grey eyes. “Laz?” she asked curiously, putting the cigarette away quick. “Oi! Laz!” the black Frei shouted at the other Raevan as she waved excitedly, waiting for a group of humans to walk past before floating over to join him. “Hey what brings you to the zoo today?” she started to ask, but then suddenly realized her faux pas. She remembered now, last she’d see Lazarus he’d already achieved Sigel-hood and from what she heard now, although she had yet to see it for herself, was that the Incubus was now a full fledged Valsaros with legs and all. So this Frei in front of her now was most definitely not the fire Raevan. Holding her mouth in embarrassment, the smoky girl’s cheeks only giving the slightest hints of rose, “You're...you're not Lazarus. Sorry, I just mistook you for another of our kind. You two look…very similar…from afar.” It was sort of true what with the coloring and all, not so much with the having a complete lower half, but what was a Basilisk to say?

Reinhart simply enjoyed the hustle and bustle of people as they moved around, the sounds of civilization. Even the crying children and their low class parents trying to shush them with food. His mother loved living out more towards the wilderness but the apple Raevan preferred the city. Maybe it was because more people looked at him, noticed him, and thus could appreciate his beauty. It wasn't uncommon for female humans to stare at him, their cheeks stained with a soft blush which only got deeper when he looked over at them. It was excellent to feed his natural vanity. In his hand was a bottle of cold apple juice, his usual snack when spending lots of time outdoors. He could sip it, even without a stomach, and absorb the majority of it. The water being all that was left and he could use the hydration. As he lifted the bottle to his lips he heard a voice call out. "Oi! Laz!" The red haired Raevan looked up, having heard that name before. His mother remarked, as did others, that he resembled a Raevan named Lazarus in color. It seemed another of his kind felt the same way as he looked to the owner of the voice calling out. A black frei approached, her eyes a soft grey with black around the eye. Her wings seemed to be large spikes or something, so different from his own feathered wings. Wings seemed to differ so much between their species. Ryder had mushrooms for wings, he had bird like wings, and this one spike wings. Her outfit seemed black leather and cloth of some sort. Her ribbon spiraled around like a black belt only to end in an ever dissipating stream of smoke. The variety of their kind always amazed him. Once she approached she seemed to realize her mistake in identification but Reinhart paid it no mind, he got to meet another of his kind and she was quite a lovely looking creature. He 'stood' and gave a bow, "My Lady, forgive me for the unintentional confusion. No, I am not this Lazarus though I become more curious about him every time I'm compared to him."He smiled and floated over, giving her hand a gentle kiss before putting his hands behind his back. His gloves were soft velvet, smooth and silky under Delia's fingers. His golden earrings glinting in the afternoon sun. His own clothing was red leather and white cloth with golden accents. "My name is Reinhart, newly born just months ago. Whom do I have the pleasure of speaking with?"

She had been expecting some sort of frustration or anger for being mistaken for another Raevan, yet this Frei seemed rather happy at being thought of as someone else. A little too happy in fact as he quickly closed the gap between them and felt no qualms about initiating physical contact with a complete stranger as most people tended to. Cordelia actually couldn’t help finding it a bit bold, yet also somewhat refreshing. Despite what people thought of snakes, for the most part they were actually quite the social creatures and very much enjoyed the sensations of touch and contact. Still Delia wasn’t a simple snake obviously and her current teenage human-like tendencies kept her from expressing her slight happiness at the gesture. It also did not help that Reinhart was acting as gentlemanly as her grandfather did when addressing many of the female clientele that frequented their café. Did it have something to do with the British accent they both seemed to share? Were all men with that type of accent doomed to be shameless flirts? Also, why was it that even though Cordelia lived in a British household and used some of their terminology from time to time, that she herself had never acquired such an accent? If she had, would she be just as flirty? She vaguely remembered Ebony being somewhat flirtatious sometimes before her amnesia, so the girl wondered. Whatever the case, the elder Frei wouldn’t deny the scarlet boy’s good looks, nor would she praise them or fall for his antics right then. “Quite the Prince Charming aren’t we Reinhart?” the girl mused before continuing. “My name is Cordelia, Cordelia Shade. You may address me as Delia if you so desire.” It was hard not to want to get in character (aka match the tone and accent) and play along with the other. In all actuality, it was a nice distraction from her previous sour mood. “So Charming…” a small chuckle slipped as the playfulness within her began to bubble up some. “What brings a newborn like you to a place like this?” She was well aware of how much of a pick up line that sounded like, but Delia was willing to bet that the younger Raevan wouldn’t notice, or at least she hoped since he was still very new. Merely, the snake was implying that Reinhart seemed rather out of place here at the zoo with his near immaculate visage and regal like mannerisms.

Reinhart smiled as the female frei seemed to warm up to him. He liked those who didn't mind his overly polite manner or old fashioned greeting. He didn't up his charm game any more than need be, just giving her a small playful smile. Prince Charming? He liked the sound of it. Prince was a form of royalty, which seemed to fit his perfect looks and personality. At least in his opinion. "Charming perhaps but I prefer to be polite. It just seems.....natural," he offered her a seat next to him on the bench. "Delia, a lovely name."He looked back over the crowd of people, taking a sip of his apple juice. As the female questioned his attendance at the zoo he gave a chuckle and motioned to the reptile house behind them, "My mother is in the reptile house. She runs it. As I am still new to the world she does not feel comfortable leaving me alone at home. So I join her here. Normally I spend time in the Nocturnal house, I find it comfortable there."He took another sip of apple juice then looked over a large tour group as one of Sam's co-workers spoke about the zoo's conservation efforts. His ruby eyes looked over each individual, examining their clothing and any electronic devices they may have. "Though around this time I like to sit here and watch the crowd. So many interesting people," he looked to her, "And you? What brings you to the zoo this day?"

"Polite...right..." the snake uttered with a bit of an eye roll, not convinced that Reinhart wasn't harboring a bit of another agenda as well. Yet, Cordelia let it pass, thinking she was perhaps looking too deep into it. After all, he was a newborn. Albeit, one that was wholly more mature than most as a fresh Frei. She listened as she took the offered seat next to him. Automatically, Delia looked in the direction of his gesturing and saw Sam gushing all about her babies and the zoo she so adored. Oh yeah, she'd been looking for the reptile house as well as the redhead. The older Raevan leaned back closing her eyes and smiling with satisfactory at the thought of not having a long drawn out search for the woman. There was a moment before Reinhart's words and her thoughts had caught up with one another. Grey eyes shot wide open as she leaned forward to gawk at the red and white boy like she was viewing him for the first time again. "Wait, what?! You're Sam's Raevan?!" Cordelia was quickly trying to do the math since she'd last seen the zookeeper. Had it really been long enough for one of her own to be born already?! It seemed like only yesterday that the Basilisk had met the lively female! Whether it was or not, he was here in all his charming glory. Guess that made catching up with the woman about her Raevan a moot point now. As she viewed the younger Frei more closely this time, Delia was trying to remember what Samael said his essence and soul were. She remembered something about rescuing a skunk and upon the thought accidentally let slip, "No odor...defensive...?" At realizing her lips were moving then, Cordelia quickly covered them in embarrassment and replied with a nervous laugh, "Oh ha, just thinking out loud. Sorry! Don't mind that. S-so Sam's your mum huh? How's that?" God could she be any less cool right then?

Reinhart just smiled as the woman took his personality in stride but did not condescend him. He liked that, it was honest. Even if she didn't fawn on him like some of the women here she still seemed good company. As she took a seat he made room for her, wondering if he should offer her his other bottle of apple juice. Did she partake in such things? His kind were varied in their energy needs. Then it seemed to occur to the female his association with Sam. When Sam first brought Reinhart to the zoo after her leave there were a lot of comments about whether or not he was actually her offspring despite his lower half. The red hair seemed to be the sticking point. He chuckled softly and nodded, "That I am. Mother was quite pleased with my creation and has since ensured I am not lacking in company. I've attended the life celebration of another of our kind and now, I've met another lovely member of our race."She seemed to be thinking things over, asking about odor defense to herself. Well he did ensure he bathed regularly though he thought she meant it in another context. She recovered quickly enough and questioned him again about his parent. He sipped his juice a moment, "Mother is quite....energetic. Much like she is with the reptiles in the exhibit. Apparently there was a large birth recently and she's been just as excited when I was born."At the mention of Sam the red head seemed to sense people talking about her and walked out on her break to check on Reinhart. She was surprised to suddenly see a familiar basilisk seated with him. "Cordelia! Oh how lovely to see you again! I see you've met Reinhart."Ebony Shade I'm gonna make this take place after he'd met Ryder asl well. Give them more to talk about.

Upon his words, Cordelia recalled when she first met Sam and couldn't help but laugh. The red-haired woman had all, but jumped up and down with joy at the fact that Delia was able to speak the serpent's tongue, but was practically foaming at the mouth when she'd admitted to being a Basilisk. "Yes, energetic is a good word to associate with her. But it's okay because it just shows how passionate and devoted she is to her 'babies'." Though she had used her fingers to help punctuate that last part playfully, the older Raevan hoped he had not taken any sort of offense to it. After all, he was Sam's actual baby of sorts now. Not that Reinhart seemed to be the jealous type, though one could never judge a book by its cover. Ears perking at the sound of her name, Cordelia turned her head to its source and smiled brightly. Getting up to greet the human with a hug, "Sam! It's so good to see you again!" At the mention of the apple Raevan, Delia took a look back at him before giving an awkward laugh. "Uh, yeah, I did! Funny story, I had actually come to the zoo today to catch up with you and ask about your Raevan's status. Silly me never thought about them having already been born by now. Imagine my shock!"

Reinhart couldn't help but smirk a bit as the female frei agreed with his description of his mother. Often he wondered why he referred to the woman as his mother. She had not birthed him nor created him truly. Perhaps it was that she collected his essence and soul, brought them to those who could conjoin them. He watched as Delia stood and hugged his mother, sipping his apple juice again. Strange, at first she'd seemed flushed at his kissing her hand but she readily hugged Sam. Perhaps it was familiarity. He stood himself and floated over to the females, "Yes mother. Though once again I have been mistaken for the Raevan Lazarus."Sam smiled as she hugged Delia, happy to see the snake frei again. "Oh yes it was quite a shock to hear from the lab but, here he is! In all his royal glory," she chuckled and looked to her son. Really, he did have a Princely manner to him. She wondered if that was from the apple, given it's royal mythology. "It's so lovely to see you again, Delia. Have you heard? We have a new hatching of babies!" the woman seemed like a new mother speaking of her children.

Withdrawing from the hug, "Uh, actually yes. Char- I mean, Reinhart had made mention of you practically glowing with more motherly pride than normal.""Oh my, what's this about babies?" came the sudden intrusion of a lyrical female British voice. Coming up on the small group then, Ebony smiled warmly as she awaited an answer to her question. Innocent enough as she was always eager to meet with any of the smoke Raevan's friends, it never truly seemed to occur to the dark-haired human that perhaps this could be seen as rude. Luckily, Adrian had quickly followed up from behind and gave a slight bow. "My apologizes for the interruption, but you must be the Miss Sam we've been hearing so much about. I'm Adrian Shade and this is my daughter, Ebony. We're Cordelia's guardians. And this..." He turned to address Reinhart then with an outstretched hand, an offering of a handshake. "...must be your ward I take it? Good to meet you mate."There had been an initial moment there at upon hearing Ebony's voice that the snake Frei had noticeably tensed up. Though it was all well and melted away once her grandfather interjected. Shaking her head with a sigh, Delia muttered under her breath, "Oh my god, could they be anymore embarrassing?"

Sam was about to offer to show the snake frei the wiggling bundles of joy when a voice called out. Looking over the red head found a young lady and an older gentleman coming into view. She smiled as the man spoke so politely, she loved hearing accents. It always reminded her of her trips with her parents. "That I am! Samael McLauren, but everyone just calls me Sam. Great to meet you both!" she said then whispered to Delia as she huffed about the embarrassment, "It's in the contract we sign when we agree to take you. All parents are required to do it." She winked with a grin. Reinhart looked over as he heard accents similar to his own suddenly enter the conversation. A young lady and a proper looking older gentleman. At least he had some manners. As Adrian held out his hand Rein thought quickly about what he'd been taught about hand shakes from Tau. He gripped the man's hand firmly and shook it briskly, his own accent seeming to come out a bit stronger, "Lovely to meet you, old chap. My name is Reinhart." Once released he did the only natural thing, taking Ebony's hand and kissing the top, "Lovely to meet you as well, M'Lady."Sam just smirked, "And the motherly pride is due to a rare female having her first clutch. We are working with a conservation group to breed more so we can release them into the wild and repopulate their original habitat. At least 10 different zoos are participating to ensure genetic diversity." Ah how she loved her work.

As Reinhart accepted the elder Shade's hand in a firm grip, the human's brow raised slight at the sound of the Frei's voice. An amused and jovial smile at the ready, "Well well, I dare say this is probably my first in ever meeting a Raevan of whom speaks the Queen's English."While a highly entertained Adrian mused and chuckled to himself, Ebony became all sorts of flustered by the boy's introduction. A deep blush bloomed across her face as she stammered a reply. "I-I-It's lovely to meet you too, Reinhart! A-a-and you as well Sam!"Although she knew the redhead was only trying to make light of the situation, Cordelia's indignation was hard to suppress as she highly doubted any sort of adoption contract, Raevan or otherwise, held any such clause. Her frown seemed to only intensify as the younger Frei unabashedly flirted with Ebony. Seriously, why did her guardians have to show up now? Floating closer to Reinhart, Delia snaked an arm around one of his and made a slight move to pull him away from Ebony. It was subtle, but calculated as most would have only perceived it as a byproduct of her taking his arm and trying to point him in the direction of the reptile house. "Wow, that sounds pretty impressive Sam! Weren't we just about to go see them?" Though the Basilisk was smiling and sounded cheerful enough, there was still a tiny sharpness to it all that she couldn't completely erase.

Reinhart smiled at the man as he complimented his speaking, he looked every much the upper crust Lord in this way. "My good man, I speak the only English that is proper," he winked and looked down at Cordelia as she snaked an arm around his. Though his expression didn't change he outwardly she would feel his arm flex under her hand. Nothing suggesting fear but understanding. Sam beamed, "Oh of course! My babies are adorable!" She looked so proud as she looked to Ebony, "I am going to have to assume you don't mind snakes given your Raevan so follow me!" The woman lead them into the snake house. Reinhart floated more slowly, keeping himself and Delia back farther. "Something the matter My Queen?" he spoke softly to her, his eyes a bit darker. "You seem....tense."
