Puffy had shown up again when Megrez was patrolling, so the natural thing to do was take him out for a walk. Well, considering that he was on her head for most of it, it was more like a ride than a walk, but the point still stood.

Megrez had decided to take a break in one of Destiny City's parks, camping out on a bench where Puffy sat by her side, enthusiastically puu-buuing and munching on some leaves he must have packed for the trip. It really made her wish that she could tell what he was saying, or that he'd talk for more than a few silly words at a time (mostly to call people puuretty or puu or buu). Alternately, maybe he wasn't saying anything at all and just kind of making noise to entertain himself. That made sense.

Somewhere in the distance, Megrez felt a point of light tingle at the edge of her senses. There was another Eternal Senshi afoot, which was exciting in itself, but something felt just a little different about the aura. It was definitely still that of an Eternal Senshi, but the teeny twist left her wondering who was approaching. She squinted, peering through the darkness and trying to figure out who was out there.

(Would she actually get off her butt and go look? Maybe.)

When Corvus needed a bit of time to herself under the guise of a 'patrol' she made her way to the park. The park had overgone several renovations over the years-- additional play equipment added here, exercise stations added in along the walking trails, new grills and picnic stations added there. During the day time it was one of the places to be for recreation and family time and during the evening it was, usually, blissfully quiet.

The Senshi of Vengeance, recently transcended and recovered from the harsh battle that had lead up to it, sat calmly on the seat of a swing. Her heels dug into the soft, shredded rubber coating the ground (it had replaced the woodchips she'd been accustomed to as a child-- safer, she supposed), kicking off to give her enough momentum to swing. The chains rattled as she pushed off, the old swing groaning beneath her weight.

Another aura lingered nearby, inching just close enough to register as a blip on her radar. Order, always a good sign. Warm and bright-- Eternal, if she had to guess. Corvus swang a bit higher, working up her momentum before leaping off at the top of an arc. she landed several feet away, dusting herself off before wandering towards the other aura.

Ah, the other aura was approaching. From the sounds of it, they had been in the direction of the swings before. "Stay here," Megrez said to Puffy, who gave a curious "Puu?" before Megrez got off the bench to meet the bearer of the other aura in the middle.

As she got closer, she saw something very familiar: the other senshi was glowing. The glow of a Transcended Senshi was unmistakable during the night, and that gave Megrez a surge of excitement. Waving both in greeting and to show off the glowing feathers lining her arm, Megrez called out to Corvus. "Look! We match! Sort of, I mean, you know. Hi!" She might have been grinning a bit too widely.

"Greetings! And yes, I suppose we do match." The sound of soft laughter drifted from the woman in attire far darker in coloration than most Senshi belonging to Order. The splash of white in her bodice as well as the tier of her skirt peeking out from beneath the other layers brought a bit more light to things-- not to mention the oversized bow in the shape of wings attached to her backside. The two of them were like night and day standing across from one another, opposites in many ways, but similar thanks to the Transcendence.

"Eternal Sailor Corvus." Her hand was held out in greeting, smile warm, although not nearly as broad as the other woman's grin. "And who might I have the pleasure of crossing paths with this evening?"

"Transcendent Eternal Sailor Megrez, Senshi of Eggs, at your service!" Megrez seemed to radiate good cheer as she shook Corvus's hand. "I don't often see other transcended senshi, so I hope you can understand me being a little excited." When the handshake released, she put her hands behind her back and gave a whimsical little rock on her heels. "How'd you end up doing yours? Your transcendence, I mean. I re-enacted a ritual that involved pledging to the planet for mine." She left out that she had written an entire song in a made-up language for it. She didn't need to go that far down the nerd rabbit hole just yet. She felt she was being a little over the top and sugary, but hey, she was excited. That was her excuse.

Corvus laughed softly, the lightest traces of a rose blush rising to her cheeks. The Senshi of Vengeance was used to attention, in a sense, but the bubbly effervescence wasn't something that she was accustomed to when it came to interacting with other Eternal senshi. To meet another who was so excited about Transcendence, though?

"I could introduce you to a few others... Arsinoe and Kallichore, as well as Celsus. The latter is a Knight-- a very charming one at that, I might have." Her soft, gentle smile took on a slightly impish turn, the tone of her voice speaking of a fondness for the aforementioned knight.

Megrez's question puzzled her, however, brow furrowing as she tried to understand. "How did I do mine? Do-- do you mean how did it happen? When did it happen? I assume it had something to do with the time I've spent on Corvus, learning about who I was and what it meant to be the Senshi of Vengeance back then. I..." Megrez spoke of a ritual and Corvus closed her eyes, letting her thoughts drift to the caverns below the castle.

"I suppose I took part of a ritual as well, although I didn't think of it that way while it was happening. The markings, the transcendence, didn't happen until a few days later. There-- A Negaverse officer, a team of them and their corrupted senshi... They attacked and we fought and one moment there was a hand inside of my chest and I thought that might have been the end, but Corvus protected me. My home protected me." Her eyes opened and she looked to the other woman again, drawing in a deep breath that she released slowly as she finished the reflection.

"I suppose it happened when I accepted who I was, what I was meant to be, and proved that I was willing to lay down my life for the things I love and believe in."

"Kallichore... that one sounds familiar, somehow," Megrez said, tapping her chin thoughtfully. "I can't say I've heard of the others, but I'd very much like to meet them." When Corvus expressed confusion over what Megrez meant, she was quick to correct herself. "How it happened, yeah! What were you doing before it happened?" The next string of statements seemed to sober Megrez up a little, her smile fading and her features becoming ever so slightly more serious. "Acceptance, huh... it sounds like..." She paused as she tried to find the words to describe what she was thinking, her smile slipping further as she concentrated. "It sounds like you let your planet's love into your heart." That sounded good to her. She nodded to herself.

"In my case, I kind of did that, too. When I pledged to my world, I focused a lot on understanding my past self and her actions, and on how precious people and their lives really are. I swore not to lose my love for life or my hope, because if I did, then Chaos really would find its way to me." Megrez looked down. Memories were flooding back, and not pleasant ones. "Before I transcended, I... wasn't really in the best place. It was important for me to affirm those things for myself."

"Kallichore is the young woman who is responsible for the Senshi Primer that you've got access to through your mobile. She's thoughtful-- inquisitive and very kind." Kallichore was an ally worth having. She cared about the next generation of senshi, and that meant the world in a place where so many gained levels without knowing what it meant to really be.

The expression on Corvus's face softened as she reached out to Megrez, lightly taking the other young woman by the hand. "Those are fine things to swear, a good promise to make to yourself. It's something that all of us could do to learn... Without hope we're no better than they are. We find ourselves in dark places, walking dangerous paths alone and it doesn't have to be that way."

"Oh, that's right!" Megrez chirped, her eyes lighting up with recognition. "One of my friends, also a senshi... that primer saved her when she was first awoken. If you meet an Egyptian-looking senshi named Sadachbia, you should know that she went on a big rescue mission four days after awakening. That takes some serious guts, you know?" The pride was just about oozing from her.

Somewhat absentmindedly, she squeezed Corvus's hand when the other senshi took hers. "That's right. Under the wrong influences, it's too easy to become a bloodthirsty monster." The brief moment of lighting up from before had vanished. "I... I know that from experience." She shook her head, cringing a little from the welling up of shame within her. "This war is not black and white. There are as many exceptions as there are rules. Everyone experiences it differently. That makes guiding people and telling them what to expect hard."

Corvus made note of the way Megrez had brightened before an all too familiar shadow crept across the other woman's face. Could she speak to any sort of familiarity herself about being a bloodthirsty monster? No, Corvus had seen too much death and bloodshed in her early years as a senshi to have been interested in shedding any herself. But did that mean she did not understand how others could be drawn to it?

"This war is not black and white, no. There are those who walk in darkness, just as there are those who have never strayed from the light... And then there are those who bridge the gaps between. The light we carry with us isn't blinding, but it's just bright enough when we shine that we can use it to guide others back towards what's right." She kept hold of Megrez's hand, hoping that it did something to reassure the young woman that she wasn't alone.

"The best thing we can do is stand together as we fight, to share our experiences and learn together."
