A dark "hole" that represents the very bottom of the realm of Serenity. Ages ago people were banished to this desolate area and left to die for high crimes such as treason, but in recent decades it was deemed too inhumane and this area was supposedly sealed away.

It is a realm that exists between existence and nonexistence. Too much time spent here would cause anything to become sick, lose their sanity, or any number of other unfortunate things. It exists between morality--it is not an evil place, but it is not good. It chokes the life out of anything that exists with sin or virtue.

As the two would appear in this new area, it would feel a lot less... fresh and welcoming compared to their last location. "..." There were no sounds in this place. The air was faint and the entire area almost felt suffocating. "I wonder if you knew a place like this existed." He said, his words having an unnatural echo, as did a lot of the noises made here. "A place like this drains the life from anyone if they stay too long, even gods. Or so they say. We won't be here long." He took a few steps forward, taking a deep breath. "...Hello, mother." He addressed what Cosmos would see was a tombstone. It was unmarked, but it was the only thing for as far as the eye could see. He knelt down, looking down. "She would be happy that I've finally brought a girl to meet her." There was a single flower resting in front of the gravestone. "It's about time..." And suddenly, there was a gentle pulse that flowed through the entire realm. As the pulse reached their area, the flower resting there lit up, and dissipated away. "..." Samael rested the flower he had picked where the last one was just a moment before. "She loved flowers. I told her I'd pick her out a flower every day and bring it to her. And so I have. Every day in the years she's been gone." He slowly stood. "I've lost count of the days." He paused for a moment. "...My mother had a natural gift. She was there in the time after Serenitians and Reapers first went to war. After the battle ended, the land was scarred, dry and barren. Like the area around that city, Midgar. Serenity was a much less beautiful place. But my mother..." He paused a moment. "She was able to bring life to the land. She reversed the barren land into a state of lush, green beauty. She spent years going to every corner of Serenity and healing the scars of the land. My father was the knight given the task of escorting her. He was a capable warrior, but words were his preferred "weapon." He had fallen into depression until that job, thinking his poetry wasn't right for a man and he was a dishonor to his family. He was mesmerized watching her work, and he wrote many poems about the beauty of life. And her beauty, too. One day, she found his poems, and though he apologized and was embarrassed, she just laughed and said he had quite a way with words. She admired it. And they were married months later." He glanced up at the sky. "She brought so much life to that world, and then she gave me life, too." He turned to face Cosmos now. "...And she was a Reaper." That answered her question from a short time ago. He turned back to face forward. "She kept it to herself. She loved Serenity and wanted to make it prosperous and happy again. My father knew, but he didn't care. They had real love, and that was all that mattered to them. She expended a lot of energy at one point for an anniversary gift... She created a sort of flower sculpture of the three of us--her, my father and I, together. She actually had to be hospitalized for the toll it took on her, but when my father called her an idiot for doing something like that, she just laughed and said, "it was totally worth it."" He smiled softly in the memory. "....." His smile ceased. "But somebody had found out her secret," He cast his eyes down momentarily. "My father was out, and I was visiting my mother in the hospital. It would've only been a day or so until she could leave... and then a group of knights stormed into the room. I was confused... I didn't know what was happening. They shouted a bunch of things at her, calling her a horrible creature and a liar. Saying she was planning to betray the crown and enslave all of them. Lying bastards." He knew better than that. She would never do such a thing. "She said they could do whatever they wanted, but just to leave me out of it. They said I was "infected" with her blood and I would share her fate. I tried to stop them, but I was a child. I watched as they dragged her out of her bed, beat her and broke her arms and her legs. They said they had to make an example out of her. And at the end of it, they threw us both in here. The Void. This place was supposed to be sealed away at your grandfather's orders--it was one of the first things he did as king. But someone decided we had to be put in here." He looked down at the flower placed in front of the grave. "I sat right here and watched my mother die. After everything she did for them, in their eyes she was just another Reaper in the end. My father--I don't know how he did it, but he found where I was and saved me. But mother was already gone. When I got out, I saw the flower sculpture my mother made had been ripped to pieces. Cut down. My father said he would find who was responsible, and I never saw him again. I had to run. Flee the only place I had seen as a home. And Krul found me." He paused. "And the rest is history, I suppose." He turned back to look at her again. "It's ironic, isn't it? Ironic that the beauty Serenitians surround themselves in was given to them by a Reaper. And they certainly showed their appreciation." He turned back to face forward. "I don't know who's responsible--who gave the order to do that to my mother. I know it wasn't your grandfather. He was her friend, and it's not in him to do that. But when I find who did it..." It certainly wouldn't be pretty. "Do you understand now? Why I do what I do? I'm not saying all Serenitians are that way. But I cannot stand on the same side as those who did what they did." He shook his head. "All that matters is finding the justice--the revenge--that my family deserves. I know she would want me to move on, but that's where our viewpoints differ. I will not let this go."

The scent of the flowers was completely gone, as was all of the beautiful scenery, Cosmos would have no idea where next she would appear, which lead to the puzzled look of her face the moment she did. It was in no way a pleasant feel here. Had she not had the trust in him so quickly gained of their time talking, she might of even thought this place was some sort of trap. Lucky for her, it wasn't,according to his words that would end badly for her. "Honestly.. This place was beyond me. " She wasn't nearly as powerful and knowing of all things as Nero, so it made sense. As she stepped forward, to keep close to Samael, Cosmos was about to say something when she suddenly just..stopped. It wasn't often that Cosmos felt real emotions of sadness, but that dormant emotion had certainly awakened as her eyes came to rest upon the tombstone.

"........"

Suddenly, everything seemed completely backwards. Between the Serenitians and Reaper's, just who were the real evil here? How much more did she not know of the past? Did her own mother even know what took place? Or her grandfather? Why were these details completely hidden from the rest of Serenity? "I'm..so sorry..." And it wasn't something Cosmos said often, if ever. Her tone had completely changed, there was no more smiles to be seen, nor her goofy attitude. She had felt real heart break, and even more anger. "I never knew any of this...and honestly, I'm not so sure most of the Serenitians and especially young Serenitians, know of what happened. These men .....responsible.....They went against everything Serenitans stand for, that...is not the way of my kind. They would nev---" ..She paused.. ".....I see.." She sighed, wrong again, it seemed. Those very kind were still living within the walls of Serenity, all of those who had hate for her entire family, had to have been of the same mind set as the men who attacked Samael's mother. "The corruption is inevitable, isn't it.." She turned to him. "Your mother was a woman with a beautiful, sincere heart. Everyone needs to know this..They need to know, that their judging has only made things worse, it's made...all of the Serenitians far worse then any Reaper could be. There is no such thing as perfection in any world.." She sighed. It may not of shown on her face clearly, but for once, Cosmos was completely enraged. "...I want to help you...find that revenge..It is only well deserved, for what they did..there is no forgiveness for such a horrendous act." She nodded softly, before lowering to a knee at the other side of him, just in front of the tombstone where she would place her hand at the base of it.."I'm so sorry for everything your family has been through...I can't apologize enough. Just know, from now on..I will protect your son, and I will find a way to make them see just how long they've been all along..." For some Reaper's, of course, there was always going to be the bad ones that made such Reaper's like herself and Samael look just as bad..
As she removed her hand, in her attempt to let her voice be heard to his lost mother, Cosmos returned her gaze to him. "You may not require my protection, however, if those men are still out there somewhere...You could be in danger. I suspect they would be prepared with some sort of tactic, for Serenitians, they likely will know you the moment they've spotted you, no matter how old you were then. A Serenitan rarely forgets ones presence. If i'm right, they will be prepared...and I can't let that happen, rather you like the idea or not, I want to protect you.."

"I'm not looking for anyone's apology." Samael said, even though he knew what she meant by it. "I just want you to understand. To open your eyes. The viewpoint that Serenitians or Reapers alone are absolutely right and just is an ignorant one. There exists "good" and "evil" in every place." Even places you wouldn't expect to find one or the other. "Though good and evil are just concepts of a supposed morality. You can be a murderer who takes lives from those who deserve to live, yet who works for the poor and needy without asking anything in return. What does that make such a person? Good? Evil? That's what I'm talking about. The grey that everyone would rather not look at. In truth, we all exist there. No one is black or white. "Good" and "evil" exist within everything. It exists in balance." He glanced up to the sky, a dim light casting down on the tombstone from an unknown source. "Every day, basic things in this Void are dissolved and returned to natural form, or destroyed entirely. Things like you and I wouldn't be, but things like flowers and tombstones would. My father's magic is what keeps this tombstone here. It protects it in an eternal ward." He looked down at the flower. "That's why I've told her I would come here every day and bring her a flower. They dissolve every day, so I bring her a new one." He glanced to her, before looking down again. "It doesn't matter to me if people come to know what she's done for them. Many of your people would rather not know a Reaper was responsible for the beauty they live in every day. It would disgust them." He shook his head. "All that matters is that I find those who did this. And the one who ordered her death." Obviously they were acting under orders, and obviously those people would all still be alive with Serenitian lifespans.
Turning away, he put his hands in his pockets as he looked over the vast nothingness before him. "A Serenitian goddess protecting a Reaper. I wonder what your people would think about that. A royal, no less." He shook his head. "If anything, I hope they do try to attack me. If they even know I still live, which I doubt. It would just make finding them easier. But I've been in and out of that world for years, and few ever notice my presence." To get flowers, primarily. "Though needless to say I can't exactly stop you from doing as you please." She was far more powerful than he was, as if that wasn't obvious. "I'm not trying to make you feel guilty, or obligated. I only wanted you to see the truth of the matter. A truth many cannot stand to see."

After his foray into the realm of the Reapers, Isaac fazed into this lifeless pit, still holding his anti-matter blades. "..." The darkness continued to seethe and burn in and around him, but it had decreased substantially. It was soon going to wear off entirely. He dropped his blades, and they faded away as he did. Taking a few steps forward, he knelt down in front of the one, lone gravestone there. "......." He just sat there, staring at it in pure silence. This is where he always came to let the last of the darkness leave him when this happened. He always felt at peace here... despite this place being a soulless, empty void, it always felt as though the comfort of his grandmother was with him here... A woman he would never meet, and yet that feeling didn't change.
