Every step taken was a step moving forward to ensuring that safety was promised to the citizens of the Water Tribe, especially here at the capital of Mirro te Weavia. The large and recognizable Magus Brave Leader, Gundisalv, wore his full regalia of armor with a fierce expression that he was especially known for amongst those who crossed his path....or when he appeared before the citizens. The great Tah slowly turned off from the trail he had patrolled several times already in the day and began to make his way towards where the training grounds and his makeshift den was next to the great lake that looked like a great, blue heart of their tribe.
Vetersalv came up to the flank of his master, panting softly from exploring past the border with bright eyes full of excitement. Guni's companion was always happy to go on border patrols especially when it was their shift to do the patrols. It gave them both pride to be able to be of service to their tribe. Just as it gave Gundisalv even more pride that his troops were slowly growing, one by one with his fellow water tribers answering a call of duty that was within them. Pausing in his tracks, he looked over at the great lake then over at the end of his training grounds where the capital began feeling blessed and thankful to the Grand Weaver for choosing him to be able to lead and guide those who were interested in something bigger than themselves for the greater good of their citizens and peace. Yes, Gundisalv was very thankful for the changes that occur when the right time and the right citizen stepped up and forth to seek him out.

Mkali had spent a great time thinking on his life. For all the time he had since he had been woven, he hadn't made one grand decision. He just sort of drifted. He never went far, realizing he was meant to stay in the capital from day one, but he was never quite at ease, either.
He wanted to do something, to protect those who were important to him. Even though he hadn't met anyone specific, he felt the need to protect, he still wanted to help the Water Tribe as a whole. He searched for his calling as seasons passed and it wasn't until recently that he had found out about the Braves. Soon after, he put it in his mind to join them. They were all about protecting others and he was certain that he could perform up to their standards!...Once he learned what those standards were.
So he started asking around. He learned that there was a Magus in charge of the Braves, a notably blue Tah by the name of Gundisalv. If a b'alam wanted to join the Braves, they must first approach their leader, he was advised. So, straightening up, he had decided to set out that day in search of the leader. He had finally managed to come to some conclusion about his life. There was no use stalling any longer.
He managed to find the encampment on his own and was looking around for the leader in question, when he saw him. The other was large, taking impossibly long strides and for a moment, Mkali thought about turning and running the other way, intimidated by the other. Then, he shook himself and proceeded forward, opening his maw to send a greeting to the other.
"Tah Gundisalv!" He called to the other, looking up at the magus when he approached. "I have come to offer myself to the Braves."WC: 316

Gundisalv slowly turned his head from where he stood looking over the whole area to observe an approaching Tah that greeted him followed by an offer. The offer of himself to the Braves. Raising his brow at the Tah, the Magus' expression was stoic at such an offer from anyone who approached him. Sometimes experience taught one to be cautious when citizens approached about joining the Braves. There was no glory to be had in being a Brave given that there would be ultimate sacrifices to be made if there ever came a time that they had to call to arms and bare their claws when words and diplomacy would not be enough for any enemy.
"Good afternoon." Came the deep reply from the Magus as he turned to face the Tah fully. "That is a bold offer, young Tah." It was always going to be a bold statement and one that he had to question it's sincerity, respectfully. "Tell me what has brought you to offer yourself as a Brave." Gundisalv opened the floor for the Tah to express and explain himself so that he could study this Tah.

Mkali stared up at the Magus as he bid him to explain what had caused Mkali to come to the conclusion of joining the Braves. It was one that Mkali had considered for some time, even after he decided that he wanted to. While it was true that in the face of the Magus Gundisalv himself he felt a bit daunted, he stood firm and replied as evenly as he could.
"I have known that I was meant to protect my Water Tribe kin for some time. I haven't ever felt the need to travel away from them; my home has always been right alongside our lake." He began. "I've only ever felt love and the desire to support my Tribe. I believe I have the stamina to handle the training that I may be tasked with upon joining and I have the strength of my heart to get me through any difficult times I may face. I do not come to you with any illusions of grandeur, Tah Gundisalv, only with an open mind and a desire to protect our kin." He finished, looking expectant, but not eager. He had spoken his piece and now it was up to the Magus before him to decide if it was enough or not.WC: 212

Gundisalv listened patiently at Mkali's reasoning behind wanting to offer himself to the Braves. It was a reasoning that he has heard time and time again though of course what made it different from those who professed themselves interested in the Braves was the tone of voice and their body language to prove sincerity. It seemed to the Magus that this Tah was sincere about joining.....
"Do you desire to give up your life to protect our kin? Such a sacrifice may happen at any moment including for those who may not be of our kin but still need protection nonetheless." Gundisalv replied with a steady gaze while his companion Vetersalv sat next to his master's flank and panted softly with his own seemingly questioning gaze on Mkali.

Mkali considered what the leader of the braves had asked him. Mkali had yet to meet his soul partner. If he were to meet her and then have to sacrifice his own life, he would leave her alone and yet... He had not yet met her, but he was certain that any life partner of his would feel the same way he did.
"I am willing to make this sacrifice if it is to protect the Water Tribe and those within it." He confirmed. "If the Braves require it, I will protect whomever needs it, to help the whole group."WC: 100

Gundisalv nodded then looked back over the lake that was like the living heart of their tribe. The beauty it possessed and glittered under the warmth of the sun or the power when the waves were stirred and tossed during a fierce storm. It provided to them and to the other water sources that connected right back to this heart like living veins. The peace and calm, the wisdom and the knowledge....they had to protect this very existence so that future generations will always have it and appreciate what the Grand Weaver created for them.
"Very well." Gundisalv's deep voice rumbled while his companion Vetersalv looked between the two males then started walking forwards in the direction of the lake, no doubt to drink and find a spot to roll around in since they were not patrolling at the moment.
"Mkali...I expect the highest standards from you. If you are unable to continue you need only to tell me and I will release you of your duties. Do not betray me nor our comrades...nor our kin, lest you face the final penalty of such actions. Do you understand and accept this? If you do then I welcome you now to the Braves."
