Getting a senshi call about training was always a nice feeling, so Nix was in a very good mood as he hopped his way up to his favorite rooftop for random training. High enough to be out of sight of most places, and a bit exciting to stand on the edge of. He'd told Sailor Paeonia where to meet him that night, and when, so hoped he'd have a few minutes lead time...Gotta look more proper and on the ball when you're the knowledgeable one right?

Of course, you can only look so serious in a skin tight suit with frog feet...but details! No matter! He still stood atop the corner of the building, and waited. All the while, thinking of the sorts of things he'd want to cover. Would definitely need to see how her magic worked...


The building itself was not especially interesting. Around 20 stories (he'd never actually gone inside to check), glass, with a flat top. Small box sticking up for the roof access stairs, and there was a smattering of AC units, vents, pipes, and antennae up there. Just enough that it wasn't just a flat void, but there was still plenty of space there.

Nix spotted her on approach, made sure she had enough space to comfortably hop up on the roof. He took the offered hand and shook it lightly in an enthusiastic grip and gave the girl a big, happy grin. "Yup! I'm Nix! So, that means you're Paeonia!" He's practiced saying the vowels together a couple times prior to this meeting, so was happy that it sounded right to him.

He looked down at the bag and looked at it quizzically a moment before asking, "For...me? Wow, thanks!" Then he took it gently, and peeked inside. After a moment to spot it, he pulled out the little plush and grinned happily. "Haha, cute! This'll go great by my TV..." He carefully put it back in the bag, and took a few steps away from the edge.

"Anyway! Let's get to training! You just got, uh, 'awakened,' right? So, all this is new? How was getting up here? Have you experimented much with just running around and stuff?"

As he was asking a series of questions, he'd walked in to a relatively protected spot from wind, where he carefully set down the bag. Then he realized he'd just asked a lot of questions in quick succession and laughed again, rubbing his cheek lightly. "Ah, sorry...It's just...all so exciting, isn't it?"

Nix nodded thoughtfully. "It is a very pretty dress, Paeonia," he told her with a small smile. "But dont' worry about getting it all messed up, the whole... magically dressed thing takes care of that. Even if it gets covered in mud, or torn up, next time you power up, it's all perfect again!" He gave her a small thumbs up.

"Okay, so...what we should do, then, I think," Nix said after a moment's consideration, "Is to focus on what you can just do, then after a bit we can play around with your new magic powers some." As he spoke, he moved slowly back over to the edge of the building. Once there, he pointed out and down some, to the next rooftop.

"See that building over there?" he asked. "I like this spot, cuz from here, we can jump right over! Jumping back is a bit harder...might have to climb a bit again." The distance was definitely farther than a person should be able to jump, but for a Senshi, it would be an easy jump. Still probably daunting if not used to it--which was exactly why Nix picked it.


"So," he said with a huge grin, turning to face toward the jump. "Let's..." He bent down and forward a bit, "Go~!" and then he leaped straight across the gap to land on the far building with a thud. Once there, he spun around and waved a 'c'mon' gesture before calling out, "Get a bit of a running start if you're worried!"

Nix grinned encouragingly up at the other senshi as she gazed back at him. Before he could start to worry about maybe being too abrupt, he saw her back up, so cheered her on. “You can do it!” he called out.

He watched as she made the few steps toward the edge, and leaped! It was perhaps not the most perfect of jumps…but who would the very first time they tried jumping between buildings? His grin never faltered as she went, and since he was sure she’d make it, he stepped out of her way, but stayed close to lend a hand to steady her once she landed.

“Yeah!” Nix said happily. “Great job! Isn’t that cool?” he asked, practically bouncing on his feet again. “I love it. We can do some pretty amazing stuff now…and if you get used to doing that stuff, then you can use it to get out of—or into—danger!” He gave her another thumbs up at that.

With a big grin, Nix nodded and replied, “Of course! That’s what we’re here for! Happy to help~” He waited a moment, letting her have a look at the jump they’d made. When she turned back, he said, “We can try having a race later, if you’d like, but let’s do some other stuff first. Like, uhm…hmm…” he rubbed his chin a moment.

“Oh! Show me what your magic does! Use it on me, if you need to,” he declared excitedly. “Mine’s, uh,” he paused for a moment, looked around, and spotted what appeared to be a loose brick on the roof (why was there always one of those sitting around? A mystery for the ages). With that in sight, he stuck his tongue out in that direction, and a much bigger, much more glowy-magic-nonsensey tongue materialized right in front of him, and shot out over there, whacked the brick…and t hen came back with it. He caught it in his grip and grinned at her as the magic tongue disappeared.

“That!” he concluded. “Lotsa ways to use it…but I know most senshis don’t have something as, uh…direct. But still useful, I’m sure!”

Nix braced for impact of…whatever it might be, and then… she blew petals at him. He blinked in confusion for a moment, until one landed directly on his nose, which immediately gave him vertigo, and he swayed around from that, putting a hand to his head and backing up from the petals. “Woaaah,” he let out, eyes rolling around a bit. “That’s…something,” he managed, and held mostly still for a few seconds.

Then it was gone, and he took a deep breath, blinked once, and looked right at her again. “Ah. Woo. Okay,” he said with a definitive nod. “That’s…mmm…Sure, that doesn’t hurt or anything, but woo. Do that to somebody at the right moment, and they’re gonna have a bad time, that’s for sure.” He rubbed two fingers on his temple briefly as he concluded that thought.

“Anyway, what would you like to focus on doing?” he asked, smiling again.

"Oh, uh..." Nix looked thoughtful a moment, rubbing his chin. "Well, easiest way to tell if they're 'bad guys' is the aura. It's, uhm..." he paused again, thinking about how to put it. "You can sense that I'm here, beyond just seeing me, right? It's like that, except, uh, spookier for the negaversers." He nodded, figuring that was the best.

"Some of them don't seem all that bad, but it's probably safe to assume that if you sense that sort of aura, they are not your friends." He shrugged before adding, "And those youma monsters are pretty obvious, I think."

"Though, I have to admit," he added, "I don't really 'patrol' much...I mostly do this stuff, but I still sometimes see youma and negaversers...fought a few."

Nix's eyes widened in surprise briefly. "Wow, you haven't seen a Youma? You got lucky, I guess...one tried to eat me once, before I became a senshi." He shrugged and smiled. "It worked out, though. I was saved by Kallichore, another senshi."

He considered for a moment, trying to decide the best way to explain youma. "They're not really like the cats," he said carefully. "Most of them are bigger, I think, and a lot less smart. I don't think they can talk, and they like eating starseeds." He put his hand on his chest as he said that.

"They do kind of look like spooky animals, though. Monsters. Uh...like the one that attacked me looked like a big deer, except it had dark stuff floating around it, and it didn't look entirely there....and I've seen ones that looked like dogs and stuff, too. You'll know one when you see it."

He paused, thinking, and added, "we could probably go find one right now!' he sounded kind of enthused by the idea, in fact.
