The Citadel always gave Chrysoprase the creeps. She knew it was supposed to be safer than training wherever in Destiny City, but the whole super-drab-and-super-edgy feel of the place really kept her on edge. Every time she stepped on one of those extra-creaky stairs, she jumped. Whenever she glimpsed some captain's youma in the halls, she squeaked. And whenever some a*****e general tapped her on the shoulder, she nearly leapt out of her skin. But whatever, orders were orders. She was supposed to get to the next part of her training down here.

She knew she was supposed to get there around five, but she wanted to show up ten minutes early to show she was putting in her hundred-ten-percent. And she totally was, too! She made sure to have her cat toy summoned into her hand and everything. And she even memorized the route down to the wide, barren training rooms in the basement of the Citadel. And she got a ride from some captain without having to bother Ms. Rey about it. Even if it seemed like she was being totally extra, she just wanted to make sure everyone knew she was trying.

Okay, she was being totally extra. Like, Extra™. Maybe with one of those R's with a circle around it. What did those stand for again?

So she crossed the super dark and creepy hall, under the equally dark and creepy ambient lighting, and reached the literally dark and creepy door. It looked rotted and kinda gross, like she was glad for her gloves because she never wanted to touch the damn thing with her manicured nails. And when she twisted the old knob, she half-expected it to fall out of its socket and leave her to shoulder check the door in, but it opened with a slow and foreboding creak.

"Here we go," she muttered to herself as peppily as possible, and stepped inside.
