It had all started out as a good time. Fettelite was with a general in the real world as he called it, being told what to do, being guided around for a while and just trying his best not to disappoint. But he had let one too many donors escape, and... Well, his general just wasn't having it.
It wasn't punishment enough to be drained of his own energy, but when he did manage to scramble away after being scared enough, the general just wasn't done with him. No, to him the poor little Lieutenant just wouldn't learn unless some real, true fear was instilled in his pitiful little soul. With the snap of his fingers, he summoned his own personal youma, a terrifyingly huge snake that hissed and snapped it's jaws at Fettelite and told the boy he had only seconds to run.
He couldn't remember the last time he felt so terrified as he scrambled away, fully believing that he would die this night. Further and further he ran, still feeling that youma on his heels, slithering in the grass and snapping it's fangs down onto branches and trees and everything it could on it's way to tear into his flesh.
His chest burned, tears forming in his eyes as he asked himself over and over and over again what had he done so bad to deserve to die tonight?
A different aura blipped up in his mind and he dashed towards it, hoping that whoever was there would be kind enough to help him out, if only for a little bit. Fettelite wasn't about to let someone else get hurt because of him, but damn he was so terrified that he couldn't help the sob he let out when he finally saw the person behind it.
"P-Please!!" He cried out, breathless as he stumbled towards the Senshi, falling right before he reached her and skidding a few feet. It took a brief moment to recollect himself before he scrambled back to his feet. "I-I can't fight it, I can't, please, please, help me! I-It's after me, I swear I wasn't trying to be bad! I just.. I messed up, I didn't mean to, please! H-Help me!"

Lysithea had been looking for something to do this evening. Honestly, the night had seemed so quiet she was about to just pack things up and go home, but then she suddenly felt two auras moving towards her and for a moment she was so startled, she nearly dropped the slender baton she had been holding. It felt like a lieutenant and a youma moving towards her…but moving so quickly she didn’t even have time to really let it all sink in, and then she saw the lieutenant, a boy who was crying out for help and stumbling and her heart went out to him at once, at least before reason took over.
She didn’t know if this was a trap or not. It made sense that it would be. Present a terrified young lieutenant…entrap a lone Eternal who just so happened to feel too much compassion…
If she had been thinking of traps. She would have done something like this.
“Help you? Help you with what? You’ve lost control of that youma, is that what you’re trying to tell me?”
She wanted to grab him, to throw him behind her and just take care of the large snake like creature that was quickly approaching, but something still told her to be cautious…of course after a moment she told that something to shut its face, and she did grab the lieutenant’s wrist, tugging him away from the creature. “Lysithea Untamed Purity!”
The attack was directed at the youma, and she wore a satisfied look as it took hold. But…it would take more than just magic to dust it, even though they had the edge now. “You should help me fight this, you know. You can’t just run forever. This is one of your sides misbegotten creatures, after all.”
Glancing at the lieutenant, she held out a gloved hand. “Help me dust this thing, okay?”

Fettelite felt that he could just fall to his knees and start sobbing at the kindness Lysithea showed him. He wanted to shower her in thanks and insist that this wasn't his youma, that this attack honestly wasn't his doing, but he'd be lying if he wasn't the cause.
If only he hadn't been so utterly horrible at his job. If only he could follow directions correctly the first time.
If only he wasn't so useless, then maybe his General would have been kind to him. Maybe they'd be kinder to him as he got used to hurting people.
There were so many 'what if's he could dwell on, but the Eternal's words stung him right out of that depressed thinking.
That's right, isn't it? This monster that was sent out to teach him a lesson belonged to someone he was supposed to obey. This was his fault, and now someone else was being forced to fight a monster. He couldn't just sit by and let her do that all alone.
"O-Okay, I'll try!" Fettelite took her hand for just a moment, feeling his own tremble in her grasp before pulling it away and summoning his weapons to his hand. Pompoms. Useless pompoms, but maybe they could help somehow.
No... No they couldn't.
But what could help was a giant stick that laid on the ground, which he dashed over to pick up and held between his hands. It was heavy, maybe good to beat the monster with!
"L-Lead on! I'll fight too!"

Lysithea glanced at the Lieutenant and nodded, seeming almost a little surprised at his willingness to help. When he took her hand, she gave it a reassuring squeeze. “This will be all right. Together it is no match for us at all. I need you to hit it as hard as you can now, okay? And I’ll follow up with a kick of my own, and hopefully that should do the trick, my magic is pretty strong, at least.”
Her voice was patient and she felt almost as though she were interacting with a child. In a way, this frightened lieutenant reminded her of Evan, and the overwhelming urge to protect him kicked in at full force.
“I’ve got your back. Go now, hit him with everything you’ve got while he’s still dazed from my magic.”
Lysithea placed a hand on the small of the Lieutenant’s back and gave him a gentle push forward. “Every bit of strength helps. I can already see that you’re resourceful. That’s good.” There was no reason to give this much encouragement to someone on the Negaverse. Honestly, it seemed rather dangerous, or would if she allowed herself to think that far. Giving a scared lieutenant confidence…wasn’t always a good thing. Confident lieutenants could turn very easily into ruthless generals.
“We’ve got this.”

The hand on his back that pushed him forward met with a little resistance. He wasn't like Lysithea. He was weak, and lacked any sort of power. The only thing he knew he was good for was being a meat shield, that's what his general told him anyway. And he was trying his best not to just be that...
Maybe Lysithea knew that too. Maybe that's why she pushed him forward.
Either way, this was his fault so it was only right for him to keep going.
The monster was infact still dazed, just like she said it would be, so Fettelite did as he was told, dashing up to it silently and smashing it on the head. It let out a shriek, flicking it's head towards the lieutenant and swiping at him with his tail, just enough to cause him to stumble back. he wouldn't give up though, not when his general might still be nearby, or that Eternal could still be disappointed, so he went in again and smashed it's tail.
"KYAH!!" He hoped it would be enough to give Lysithea the edge to dust him!

As the youma looked as though it was almost ready to just give up, Lysithea pulled Fettelite behind her, wanting to keep the boy safe. He might be a lieutenant, but he was a person first and foremost and he had asked for her help.
And done a pretty good job of working to clean up his mess as well. She took a leap towards the youma, landing on it with her heels digging in first, and giving a little yelp as the creature turned to dust after her strike. Of course, landing heels first in a monster that no longer existed meant that balance was suddenly not there, and with a laugh, Lysithea tumbled to the ground, landing on her rear with a disgruntled expression.
“Ugh. Youma dust. Nasty.” She got to her feet, brushing off her backside quickly and looked at the young lieutenant with a sad little smile. “You’re safe now…are you okay? Not too scared, right? Did you get hurt, because I have healing magic and I can heal cuts and things like that, if you’re hurt at all.”
Now that the danger was gone, she was much more relaxed, an easy smile on her face. “I’m Sailor Lysithea. It’s…nice to meet you.”

Fettelite, as much as he wanted to be happy about the youma dusting, he began to worry as he hurried back over to the Senshi's side. Though he had every reason to dust the youma... He had every reason not to, one of them being he just knew he would anger the general it belonged to. Every second that ticked by made the fear in his chest grow larger, half expecting to be forced back into Negaspace at moment.
"I... I'm okay!" He finally squeaked, pulled back from his panic to give Lysithea a smile. Even as scared as he was, his smile was still genuine, after all this woman had helped saved his life, for now anyway. "I'm not hurt, thanks to you! I didn't.... I really didn't mean to make you fight that youma... My um... The General I'm on loan to, I guess.... I kept messing up and he said he needed to punish me and that was his own youma and... Oh geesh, we dusted it!"
He was only a few seconds away from crying at this point but tried to keep them back. No, this wasn't her fault, or his own! It was just unfortunate, that's all! He made mistakes and had to make up for them, and... If it meant that his bosses wanted him to run, he'd try not to let them down... Dusting was a good thing, right? It proved he was tough! And they didn't need to know it was an Eternal who helped him!
Did that even make sense...? A Lieutenant couldn't dust a General's youma all on their own... Could they?
No matter, he'd figure it out... A quiet moment passed, then he shook his head of the thoughts, choosing to deal with it later.
"I'm De--- Uh... I'm Fettelite. Thank you again for helping me... I know you didn't have to but... It's really, really nice to know there are people out there that would help no matter what.... I didn't really think people like that existed on your side... The leaders make everyone sound like monsters..."

Lysithea was quiet for a moment, watching the fear on the lieutenant’s face and finally, though she still realized this could be some sort of a trap, she pulled the boy into her arms and gave him a gentle hug. “Perhaps the General will be proud of you, thinking you dusted it all on your own. Or perhaps they’ll just get distracted and have to go and find their youma again. That’s also a possibility, you know.”
Her eyes raked over the bruise that was forming on his cheek and the cuts on his arms and with a sigh, she shook her head. “Lysithea Healing Horn.” The magic was whispered softly, and without asking for permission, she slowly glided the horn over the cuts on the lieutenant’s arms, slightly annoyed by the fact the magic faded before getting a chance to treat the bruise but…she had used a lot today, she supposed.
“There you go, Fettelite. That should make you feel a bit better…” She smiled softly at him. “I’m not going to lie, I find most people on my side are much nicer than those on yours…and the ones who were nice on your side have all come to mine now so…”
Lysithea chuckled softly, giving him another soft squeeze before pulling away. “Perhaps all you have left are the monsters.”

A hug was honestly the last thing Fettelite imagined he'd get from Lysithea, but he happily returned it! While still in her arms, she healed him, and December smiled all the more, hugging her tightly once she was finished.
It was nice... he couldn't help but imagine the hug being much like his sister before she... Well, it was nice either way, until the senshi began to talk about such sad things and made him squeeze her just a little bit tighter, willing away the bad thoughts as best he could.
"That's a scary thought, Miss Lysithea... I know bad people exist here... And I know they've done really bad things but... They spared me so I kinda owe them a debt... And they're keeping me off the streets, giving me a place to stay and food, so... It can't be all bad, right? I hope there's not just monsters left, I guess I'm here, and I'm not a monster so that counts!" Fettelite finally pulled away from the hugs, taking a few steps back so that he could wiggle the stiffness from his body properly. His mind wandered to Bellite who treated him kindly a while back, but honestly... He couldn't think of anyone else who had been friendly... And it scared him even more. What if he did mess up more? What if they turned on him like they did his sister and brother and he was just murdered in his own home like they were...?
Surely they wouldn't do that to him too, right? Not for a mistake...
"Either way, I don't think I can change. I'm not really good at anything, so I'm really lucky to have this job with them... Some generals are mean but... They did say as long as I followed orders I won't get hurt and they'd keep me around, and so far, I don't think I've messed up that badly! I just want to keep doing my best. They'll want me around that way. They're all I have left now."

Lysithea frowned slightly, allowing him to leave the hug, but wishing that she could have kept it going longer. This poor kid seemed as though he needed all of the hugs that he could get. “Well…if you ever get too scared or too hurt, come and find me, okay? I’ll protect you as best as I can, Fettelite. You don’t seem like a bad person, and I really…don’t like the idea of them turning you into one, so you just hang on as best you can until you find me. If you have to run, then run…but don’t let them use you for target practice.”
She was getting worked up, this boy reminded her so much of Evan…and she couldn’t help but feel protective over him. There was no getting around it.
“Please just always remember how special you are, and how lucky they are to have you. And also…remember that there’s always a place for you on my side of the war as well…and if you ever reach the point where you can’t handle their violence…I’ll see to it that you come back to the place where you were supposed to be.”
Lysithea knew she might be coming off too strongly…but this boy didn’t belong in the Negaverse. Any fool could see that. They would break him…or worse. They would corrupt him so badly that he would just…become a monster. “…It’s going to be okay. I promise you. Maybe not today…but eventually…” She shrugged, reaching up and gently patting his cheek. “It will be okay. Stay strong.”

"That's really... Really, really, really nice of you, Lysithea, but I'm not sure if I know how to find you. I don't think that I can really just call you up on the phone... But it's okay, really! I've been running and hiding as much as I can, cuz I know if I get hurt, I can't really ask anyone to help me, especially if it's my own fault." His general had already told him if he got broken during his expeditions, it was no one's fault but his own, and... Well, technically he was right if he was by himself. That's why he tried to be friendly with everyone he came across. That, and he was just naturally nice to all he could, what was the point of being mean?
She kept talking... And the more she did, the more guilty he began to feel. Was it really so wrong to be where he was...? It wasn't as if he had much of a choice, and even then, he had done his best not to become a bad person.. If this was only the beginning, how much worse could the Negaverse be..?
There was no overlooking it, that seed of doubt began to take place in his chest, and Fettelite couldn't help but wonder, would things really be better on the other side?
No, he couldn't let himself think about that right now. It wasn't too bad... He couldn't handle it.. And there was no way he could let the few friends he had go.. For now he could only wait and hope things got better. Even Lysithea said things will be okay, so he would believe her.
"Thank you... I... Uh... I think I'll be okay." The pat, like all of her little comforts, were well appreciated, but after it, he took a step backwards, knowing he really couldn't stay much longer... If his general came and saw Lysithea he just knew it wouldn't end well. "Like you said, it will be okay, eventually. It takes time to make things okay, so here's to hoping! I really shouldn't keep you any longer... I still gotta reach my quota, and if I don't... Naww, it's no biggie, It'll be okay, just like you said."
Fettel knew he was repeating her, sounding like a parrot, but they said fake it til you make it, and he was pretty good so far at faking!

Lysithea watched him, looking concerned. She wanted to protest. Wanted to insist that she could help that she could help him right now. That they could go away. That he could leave all of this pain and hurt and fear behind him, but quietly she just nodded. “I’ll still be here if you ever need me. I promise. I’ll see you again, I’m sure…and perhaps then we can talk about getting you out…if you’d want that.”
She took a step back from him, quietly smiling, trying to just show that she was there. “I’ll talk to you soon, Fettelite. It was lovely to meet you.”
And again, she took a step back, finally turning, not quite trusting herself to keep looking at the boy without insisting that he come with her…
Lysithea did turn though, waving at him and giving another bright smile. “Be safe, kid!”
And that was it. Though, the guilt began to gnaw at her the moment he was out of sight…she sill…hoped that he would make the choice to leave…and sooner rather than later.
He was so cute.
