Edogawa is one of the special wards located in Tokyo. It is a bustling city full of people and, a bit less known, espers. While other places in the world have their number of people capable of mental abilities, Edogawa has a secret underground network of espers that search for more and more powerful people to join their ranks. Aside from that, Edogawa is a rather peaceful place that has tried its hardest to be as progressive as possible with the incoming Terrans. Most of its schools are comprised of mixed classes, showing their attempts to welcome the visitor from another world.

▲ ╔══════ ▷ Nagi watched without a word, watched as they pummeled and kicked the poor elf guy around and made fun of his ears. Watching from the side road, he was looking down at some students from a local high school, the cruel kids beating the snot out of one of the Terrans that had come to their world. Just watching them made him feel slightly pale, unsure of what he should do. There was no way that he could do anything about it. It was four again one, and all it would do was make him late and get him demerits for showing up obviously having gotten into a fight. There's really nothing a guy like me can do, huh? He thought to himself, sighing a bit before his eyes caught sight of some red hair flowing past him. In a fiery blaze, his eldest sister came crashing down on the boys in a blazing glory. Gulping, he watched the ferocious woman absolutely decimate the school kids, sending them, screaming, away from the scene. "Are you alright, kid? Can you stand up? Good... Get to school before you're late." The kindness in her voice was a bit jarring, and it made Nagi flinch slightly from the affection that lined it.
Watching the kid run off, Nagi felt it was probably best for him to take his leave now. Quietly beginning to walk away, he heard a "thud" sound behind him. "And where do you think you're going, ant!?" Getting forcefully turned around, he was then pulled forward by the collar of his shirt. Looking him dead in the eyes with a glare, Nagi was now faced with his sister. "You get your kicks watching kids get beat up? Huh!? You think being the one up here makes you special, makes it not you problem!? Huh, ant!?" She began to get rather vocal, violently vocal as she shook him a bit. "You know I can't do anything about that stuff... Akiko..." He muttered in response. "Ha-" He felt himself being pushed away from her, the woman staring him squarely in the eyes as she continued speaking. "You can't do anything, huh? The most you could have done is get pummeled instead. It'd make you much less of an embarrassment to our family than you currently are, ant." She stated to him, looking him up and down before sneering. "What am I even doing? You're such a waste of time..." She muttered to him before storming past him, pushing him aside slightly.
Without a word, his sister had disappeared just as quickly as she had shown up. Her red hair whipped around the corner as she went off towards school. You think I don't know what my options were? It would have sucked either way... He thought to himself as he waited a few more moments before letting out a loud, frustrated sigh. "Whatever!" He called out, storming off, himself, in the same direction that his sister had gone. Move through the streets, he watched cars pass by full of adults that had done something accomplishing. Terrans, unused to cars, lined the streets as they moved about around him. They all looked so happy despite the fact that their homes had literally been tossed around a brand new world. Friends that were just miles away were now on entirely different continents. Despite this, they all seemed to be genuinely enjoying this new life they were presented with. Sticking his hands in his pockets, Nagi simply ducked around the people on the streets and tried to move forward going unnoticed.
Scenes like the one from earlier were not too uncommon. The more progressive a city was, the more up-in-arms that group online was. The "Anti-Terrans" as they called themselves. They promoted getting rid of Terrans entirely and have committed to the act by blowing up buildings and trying to scare people away from treating Terrans as human beings. It was honestly pretty disgusting. Their actions, however, influenced youth like the ones from earlier. They wanted reasons to hate the people that could surpass them in most ways. Their inferiority complexes led to physical assault, verbal taunts... and sometimes worse. This whole situation was what kept espers from really showing their face until recently. Given the negative stigma around Terrans, people were pretty eager to accept espers into their society as their "superior humans." They were pretty much the pride and joy of society since they had a way of competing with Terrans. Honestly, it was incredibly stupid in Nagi's opinion. Why compete with people that harbor no ill will towards you? "You're just asking people to get angry and spiteful that way." Nagi muttered to himself, looking up towards the sky as he made his way towards school.►"I remember being powerless..."°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°"Those days make me who I am!!!"◄

Soft steps and feet clad in what must have been the lightest shoes made their way through the streets. Partway down the road, however, were the sounds of screaming and chaos, and Quela was very certain that there was danger if she proceeded too far ahead. She came to a stop and found herself hesitating. ....
This was the way to the main marketplace, wasn't it? Or had she gotten lost when she tried that newest detour? That was a very concerning thought...
She swallowed and allowed herself a few moments to listen. When the yelling faded out and the sounds of things crashing and colliding, she felt decently safe enough to move again. Two legs... There were a lot of limits to choosing to walk about on two legs.... But... people didn't usually turn angry faces to her, did they?
It was no fun to fight someone who didn't fight back. Besides, some of the people knew her... here... or so she thought. Maybe that wasn't true here, down this road that she hadn't been down before.
Maybe it wouldn't turn out too badly. Just be polite, gentle smile, and admit when you're lost. She wouldn't need to bite anyone and no one would be afraid of her. Everything was just fine. Yup. Perfectly.
Maybe.
Come along now and take my hand I'll lead you to a promised land The morning after it may never come again

▲ ╔══════ ▷ Eventually, Nagi managed to find himself in a rather unsettling position. After taking a small detour to grab some takoyaki, he had accidentally run into Atoru, a Kitsune Terran that had come to his school as part of their progressive movement. The unfortunate part about this was that Atoru was a brute that liked to ridicule other and break rules. Atoru, with his girlfriend at his side, quickly noticed Nagi and pulled him close to him with a quick embrace. "Okamura! How's it going man?" Atoru stated, smirking as he stared down at Nagi. "Just heading to class." He responded in a rather cur way, moving out of the almost-headlock and quickly moving out of reach of Atoru. "Man, class is boring, you should skip it. It's not like there's anything real promising in school for us anyway. Push comes to shove, you can always mooch off of a Mage man. That's the beauty of it all." Atoru stated, laughing a little bit as he suggested such a thing. "For one, who knows how healthy that is. That mana stuff might mess up anyone from our world if it passed into our bodies. Second, I don't think that's the point of that system. From what I've resea-""Yeah, yeah yeah. I get it. Respect Mages or whatever. Listen, it's an easy career to get into is all I'm saying. That's why I'm not too worried about anything. Kitsune are known to be very powerful beings." Atoru stated, lighting a cigarette and smoking it.
"Powerful Mages, you mean. Their have a lot of magic potential." Nagi responded, having talked to a few Terrans about the subject. "Yeah, whatever. Hey, man. Hang out sometime. You won't regret it, trust me." Atoru responded as his girlfriend pulled him away towards an arcade. In all honesty, I'd like to trust you... but I'm not that much of an idiot. Nagi thought to himself as he watched the two of them disappear into the arcade. Useless as an esper, Nagi could only imagine what that kind of life would be like. I'm not too keen to find out my limitations quite yet. I'll just stick to school and track. He thought to himself as he pulled out his phone. "Great... late. It'd probably be best to try and slip in during lunch. I might not get noticed if I'm lucky. That kind of leaves me out in the open though." Nagi thought to himself, wondering what he could spend the next few hours doing. Seeing a bench, the young man strolled over to it and sat down with his takoyaki in hand.
Akiko's always been bossy and mean-spirited. Today really takes the cake though. She had no right to tell me that stuff. I'm not like her. I can't get away with being an idiot and rushing into things. There's no one to back me up. Nagi thought to himself as he tore into the food, watching the passerby move about. I wonder if the Terrans have the same thoughts. "I would fight if I was strong." Not every Terran is some super-powered anomaly after all. He thought to himself as he finished one of the takoyaki, quickly unwrapping another as he simply decided to eat both while he was out. Dad's probably going to let me have it later too. Skipping and avoiding that fight... Akiko's gonna make sure I get a right and proper thrashing from him. The young man lamented as a sigh escaped from his lips. Leaning back on the bench, the man simply turned to the side to look down the street, his hunger fading as he contemplated the repercussions of his inaction.►"I remember being powerless..."°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°"Those days make me who I am!!!"◄

Unfortunately, her wandering on her own, and difficulty with the street signs that were about the place didn't help her regain any kind of confidence about her location. Maybe she was just lost, then.
After her attempt at a route, and attempting to retrace her steps, she eventually gave up and she moved in the direction of a bench, where she saw the outline of someone sitting. She thought she could smell food on the breeze, but it was so mildly flavored that she couldn't be certain what exactly it was. In any case, she ate before she came. Doing so always made it easier for her to focus on the task at hand, which today, included setting up a blanket and selling the wares she had crafted over the last few months.
"Pardon," she began to speak. Her voice was even, and suggested adequate confidence in interacting with others. Perhaps that was only true because this was a rehearsed line. "Is there a place nearby where I can await a trolley?"

▲ ╔══════ ▷ In the middle of mulling over how his life would turn out later today, Nagi was approached by a woman who seemed to be lost from what he could tell. What got his attention was not her unique appearance, however, but the word she used. "Trolley?" He repeated rather quietly at first, thinking about how to respond to the question first and foremost. "I don't know about a trolley... but I can show you where the train station is. It'll get you to wherever you need to go." Nagi responded, not having heard the word "trolley" in his entire life almost. "Um..." He began, his eyes look around at the people around him as they walked by. This woman was obviously lost... and he was kind of worried that she may not be able to find wherever she was trying to go after she got on the train. She definitely did not seem like she was from around here at all. Looks alone told him that, and the word she used sort of cemented that fact in his mind.
"Are you going to be okay by yourself? I don't mean to be rude or anything. It's just you don't look like you're very familiar with the area."Or Japan. He thought the latter part to himself as he smiled rather politely at the woman. "The train station's over this way, though." He stated rather calmly, standing up and taking a large bite out of the takoyaki he had purchased. Slowly moving forward, the young man made his way towards the train station, one hand in his pocket while the other one held the last two takoyaki he had rather tightly. "So, are you from out of town? Okinawa or somewhere like that?" Nagi joked with her. Her skin would probably burn to a crisp in Okinawa or anywhere like that, so he figured joking like that would ease his own tension around the woman. It was sad to say, but he always felt rather uncomfortable talking to strangers. They made him nervous and start spouting some really idiotic things at times.
The train station was quite a ways away, so it would probably take a little bit for the two of them to make it over there. As he led the way, the young man became oddly conscious of the people around him. While they were not paying him any mind, he seemed to be watching all of them carefully. Odd... it feels like holes are being drilled into the back of my head. Is someone watching me? He thought to himself as his eyes sort of scanned the area around them. Unlike his belief, there was no one really watching him at all from what he could tell. His imagination was playing tricks on him. "Sorry about this. The train station's pretty far off. It's still the fastest way to get around town though. Definitely better than walking everywhere." Nagi stated, smiling a bit as he tried to act comfortable in this situation. Between leading a stranger to the trains and this uncomfortable feeling that was welling up, Nagi was having a genuinely difficult time not showing how bothered he really was about the situation.►"I remember being powerless..."°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°"Those days make me who I am!!!"◄

Then, perhaps there was no trolley system, but there was a train. At least there were rails involved. It was unfortunate that she chose the wrong word. She knew something of trains... but she preferred to avoid them if she could help it. They were a little too loud for her, and the unfortunate vibrations were rather stifling. These were secondary details, though. He sounded like he knew what he was talking about and where he was going.
She bowed a little, which seemed almost like a grateful bob of head and shoulders. "Thank you very much."
She righted herself and when he began to move, she fell into step with him. She adjusted the bag that was affixed to her back, a backpack full of cloth and things, and for all it was, she expected to get a decent yield from those who wanted to buy it.
"I.." She bashfully looked down, able to tell the curve of the road they followed, but unable to tell the details at a distance. Her face gained a hint of color as the embarrassment decided to grace her face. "Normally I am able to find the marketplace without incident... But my normal path was blocked off by construction. I... must have gotten lost."
It was the unfortunate truth of the matter. She hoped that the roads would be clear the next time she had to go to market. "I have a home in the mountains and only come down every so often for business."
She was doing a lot of explaining this time. It felt as though this was what he was asking about. She hoped that she was answering satisfactorily. He was still a stranger, nice as he was... So far so good.
"Do you often go by train?"

'But why are you in Japan, though?' The voice on the other end of the phone sounded almost aghast at Noelle's willingness to travel across the world over a hunch, but he was doing exactly what he was contracted to do. He was gathering information, even if it was based on the smallest possible leads, he wanted to follow up on them whenever possible to see if he had something to report whenever he went back home. This wasn't just an "American" thing either, as the more reports of strange things happening cropped up, the more he felt the need to personally investigate and gather his own data. "I'm just following up on a lead, is all. That's my job, isn't it?" The technicality led to a groan on the other side of the phone, which Noelle could only smile at. He was used to being troublesome, even as one of the most decorated cops in his station.
He reassured the voice on the other end of the line that he wouldn't get into anything he wasn't sure he could handle, but ultimately, that was a lie given Noelle's track record for engaging in the dangerous and life threatening. He was one of the most proactive detectives to have ever taken the mantle, and it showed when he wound up in the back of an ambulance for being a risk taker. "Look, even if something bad happened to me down here, there's nothing anyone could do about it anyway. I'm on another continent. You'll just have to trust me on this one. After all, it's just an investigation. I'm not fighting anybody or anything like that." After a short while more of back and forth between Noelle and the officer on the other end of the line, they parted ways with a short goodbye, leaving Noelle to his business. Aside from following up on a few reports he'd heard, he couldn't help but hide the fact that he was enjoying a little sightseeing as well.
So far it hadn't been all bad, and the locals seemed intrigued by his unique appearance, with hair a blazing red and eyes a soft green. The clothes he wore, and the softness of his face often led to quiet compliments, which he didn't mind. 'Oh, what a cute girl...' Was something he understood in any language, leading to a small smile warming up his face. As he pocketed his phone, he felt himself brush past someone, his shoulder barely bumping into them as he did. "Whoops. Sorry about that." He pocketed his hands in his jacket, a short nod being given to the taller male. As he turned to make his leave, he noticed that he kept particularly odd company. She almost looked like a ghost with how pale she was. He paused, gazing back at the pair, a bright smile on his freckled face as he spoke. "Hey, sorry to pull you away from whatever you're doing, but do you mind helping me out with something? Just a quick question is all."

▲ ╔══════ ▷ Cold air bit down upon Nagi as he listened to what this woman had to say about her current situation. She seemed to have memorized a singular path rather than multiple methods to get to the marketplace. While it worked... that sort of thinking led to situations like this where she had no clue where to go. Construction isn't exactly uncommon around here. You would think someone would prepare themselves a bit more in case something like that happened. He thought to himself as the woman then mentioned that she had a home up in the mountains. That bit of information caught his attention pretty quickly. She did not live in the city if that was the case... and that might mean her odd appearance was not just some coincidence. Maybe she was a Terran or something of the sort. If that were the case then it would explain why she used the word trolley earlier when asking for transportation. She looks pretty normal to be honest. Human Terrans aren't really uncommon... but she seems pretty unique even for a human from over there. The young man thought to himself as he stared at her white hair and pale skin.
Luckily, the woman was quick to ask him a question about himself, albeit it was a pretty standard one. "Nah. The trains aren't something I ride on frequently. I usually only use them to travel for vacation or to visit some relatives. My house is pretty nearby to most things, so I usually take a walk. I find it helps me clear my head better." Nagi explained, trying to be as friendly as possible. "You said you're from the mountains, though, right? What do you do up there? I mean, do you buy your food from around here or do you hunt for whatever you eat?" Nagi asked, curious about what it was like living up in the mountain ranges. Being a city-dweller, Nagi had not experienced much of the great outdoors while growing up. Instead, he was met with packaged meals and various other conveniences that the world had to offer to those who avoided nature as much as possible. "If that's rude or anything, then you don't have to answer. I was just curious is all." He responded rather quickly, trying to make sure she did not see him as being offensive.
As he was speaking, however, Nagi was bumped into by some other lady, whom he did not realize was a guy, and stumbled slightly before catching himself. Being apologized to, Nagi watched as the perpetrator began to make an escape before immediately turning back on him and speaking once again. A question? There were a lot of people stopping Nagi today with rather strange requests. This person, however, looked pretty normal compared to the other woman. "Sure, ask away. It's not like I have to be anywhere anytime soon." Nagi answered, not really sure why this woman was stopping the two of them. While standing there, Nagi did notice that the nagging feeling from earlier was starting to intensify a little bit more. Is it just my imagination? There might be someone watching me... but there's no one around... He thought to himself as his eyes began to dart left and right in an attempt to scout out the source of the discomfort.►"I remember being powerless..."°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°"Those days make me who I am!!!"◄

The man answered politely and without many concerns about his answers. Though, he seemed to be thinking a fair bit about what she was able to share. On the other hand, maybe he was the kind of person who thought a lot. That also made sense. It must have been nice to live in a nice central location where a person needed only to walk where they needed to go. It suggested that wherever he went could be traveled within the day and he could return home each night.
How to answer his question about her home in the mountain, though... There were a few parts to it.... like what she did there. What did a person normally do in their home? Eat, keep their belongings, work, and sleep... As her mind wandered over how she went about food, they met a stranger in their path. The young man stopped, and so did she, and she felt herself tense. She listened to the vibrato of the voice...
Male treble, but lighter tone to the voice... Quela had no discernible sense of smell, so this wasn't particularly helpful, and the individual was of average height for a bipedal creature. She found herself feeling that this individual was human. She was also under the impression that this stranger was anatomically male.... At least, from what she could tell. The long hair was not terribly uncommon among certain branches of warriors or creature, however. Perhaps she wouldn't be certain. This might be a disguise. But if their hands were in their pockets... It was a weaker starting stance, and didn't suggest hostility, but even so...
Not being asked anything in particular, at least, not at this moment, Quela felt herself shirk behind the young man she was walking with while he talked to the one who wanted to ask a question.

"Eheh~" Noelle giggled gently, pulling his hand out of his pocket and flipping open a black, leather wrapped case to reveal a badge. Be it America, Japan, or France, it stood as a symbol of authority in all capacities, although, in his case, Noelle wanted to use it more as proof of his station rather than some authority given the purpose of him stopping them. He needed their trust, after all. "My name is Agent Doucette, criminal investigator here on...business, I guess." His stance lost the casual feeling it originally had, as he stood up straighter with a much sharper gaze. His presence displayed years of experience, yet there was an underlying calm that was exceedingly confident, and almost friendly. He pocketed his badge, and pocketed his hands once more, a small grin lighting up his face.
"I've been chasing a perculiar lead for a while now since it's a case that doesn't seem like it'll ever close, so I figured I must be going about it the wrong way. See, not all of my investigation is strictly criminal." He saw no harm in telling them that much. Even if he did, it's not like anyone would believe them if they said they were approached by foreign law enforcement with this particular query. "My job primarily deals in the gathering and delivery of information. Anybody can guess that's what an agent does. The information I'm looking for concerns something a little more unnatural than a drug bust." He smiled sweetly, but he seemed very earnest in what he was saying to them.
"I suppose you could call me a 'monster hunter' of a kind. I investigate the unique and strange in the hopes of better combating it in the future. We frail humans could be little more than snacks to some of the things that have been reported to me. Which brings me to my question." Noelle's gaze flitted over to catch the woman's. His expression then unreadable. "Have either of you observed any strange occurences that you would consider 'out of the norm'? If you've observed any strange happenings, I'd appreciate if you could point me in their direction as well." When he returned his gaze to the man, his soft smile slowly shifted to a frown. "You look nervous." Hiding something? Possible. Or maybe he was just flighty. Either way, he needed documetation of everything he encountered that they might better approach iton their own shores. That was the whole point of coming out o far, after all. Proactively seeking information could prevent a future tragedy for those who lacked the power to do anything at all.

▲ ╔══════ ▷ This person seemed to be... completely strange. Not only were they some kind of cop, which Nagi guessed because he did not really understand what the badge was supposed to signify. It was different from badges he ahd seen and he knew that cops mostly flashed it when trying to get stuff they wanted. The woman-like man only confirmed that thought a few seconds later by introducing themselves as a criminal investigator or something of the sort. After that they were mostly speaking gibberish to him. I don't care what your job is or why you're here, just get to your question already. Nagi thought to himself in slight irritation as he began tapping his foot. Between the awkward sensation of being watched by something and this person simply beating around the bush while giving their life story to him, he was starting to become mildly irritated. That was just how Nagi was though. There was no reason to go on with some sort of explanation when he was perfectly willing to cooperate with them from the beginning. Unfortunately, he could not help but bring up one point. "As a special agent, isn't it better if you don't make yourself known too much? Especially if someone's ready to answer your question without flashing a badge?" He asked somewhat rudely, but it was mostly due to his youth. He did not understand whether or not it was proper procedure to let someone know whether one is a special agent or not.
"And what do you mean weird? Look around you." Nagi stated, motioning towards the crowds off people walking around them to work or restaurants. There were elves lining the streets, demonic-looking people on dates, animal-eared humanoids taking pictures of buildings and shops. "The term 'weird' is kind of outdated at this point. There's dragon people throwing around axes that weigh thousands of pounds and literal demons working in cubicles. Heck, people with psychic powers are even walking the streets now." Nagi commented in a rather ironic way. His sister was one of those very people, capable of making flames ignite spontaneously and controlling them. "Sorry. That was probably a little rude." Nagi suddenly stated, clearing his throat slightly before speaking once again. "No, none of this is weird to me. There was, however, a group of students beating up an elf a little while ago that goes to a school nearby if you want to stop them and have a conversation."
Surprisingly, the officer seemed to make mention of the Nagi looking nervous. Was it really that obvious? Maybe he should practice watching for people a bit more so that he would not get caught so easily. "Yeah, I'm nervous. I'm talking to law enforcement and surrounded by a lot of strangers. I have absolute goosebumps." He stated rather jokingly, shuttering a bit as he felt whatever presence intensify some more. Luckily he sort of hid the action within the joke that he was making. "Anyway, the news reported some weird stuff going on in Shibuya that was kind of different from your normal kind of weird. Apparently someone made an android or something like that, and it went on a rampage. It's all over the news though, so you've probably already heard about it, right?" Nagi commented as his eyes drifted around a little bit. Whatever was watching him had to be getting closer to him, so he should have been able to at least see them partially by now. Still, however, there was no one in sight that seemed to be paying him any particular mind.►"I remember being powerless..."°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°"Those days make me who I am!!!"◄

Noelle waved his hand dismissively, seemingly not bothered by the fact that he'd revealed his occupation or anything of the sort. "It's not like my name and job means anything on its own. It's fine." That truth aside, he was bending the rules just a little bit. He shook his head at the attempt to explain what the new "normal" was, but it didn't exactly change what he was looking for. "Sure. That makes them ordinary. I'm not looking for ordinary. The public fears the unknown, after all, not the status quo." Even then, there was no adjustment period. People tried, but humans didn't work that way to the best of his knowledge. There would always be the fear that they were lesser, and incapable of protecting themselves should the worst come to pass. What foolish human would believe they were more than an ant to a dragon?
He raised a brow at the mention of school violence, however. It wasn't his problem, and fell nowhere within the specifications of his job, but he couldn't let something like that go. Just doing 'his job' wasn't how he got where he was. He did what was expected of him, and far, far more. "If I run into them, I'll follow up on that. Thanks." After all, no matter what soil he stood on, his job was as a cop. He was supposed to help people and protect them, and what had been described to him was assault, not just "school violence." Defenseless came in all forms, he supposed.
"Funny, but I'm not arresting you or anything." He caught the smallest hint of a shudder, his frown deepening as he tried to discern whether he was being played or not here. That wasn't normal. "Different shores, different news." That was partially true, but Noelle had also only landed recently, and wasn't caught up on recent events in Japan at all. "Shibuya, you said? Thanks for that. And Shibuya issss..." Noelle produced a pocket book, flipping through its pages quickly and pinpointing where it should've been. A tourist, through and through. The man in front of him still seemed to be partially distracted, leading to Noelle briefly gazing about to see what in the world he was looking for. For all he knew, it could've been new information for him to relay if it was serious enough.

Come over here and let me tell you something Nothing ever comes of nothing We pay a price for all our choices made
... What an interesting change in the tone of the special officer, Quela noted. She wasn't ignorant of being noticed, but she was grateful that the attention was not largely on her. She waited, and she hovered until they were ready to go again.
She wouldn't admit this, but hearing anyone call themselves a monster hunter was a very worrisome phrase for her to hear. Were there really hunters in this day and age? ...Maybe she shouldn't have been surprised because there were people who still hated other kinds... and as she was disheartened to discover, people were still planning to hurt others, if this report was to be believed.
She didn't like to think of an officer of the law also being a monster hunter... It didn't make her feel particularly safe out in public. It probably didn't help that she couldn't really see, let alone read, the words on the badge. She swallowed and tried to gather her nerves again.
"Then... are we free to go?"
Come along now and take my hand I'll lead you to a promised land The morning after it may never come again
Never be the same.

▲ ╔══════ ▷ The words this officer was spouting gave him the impression that they were just running around and trying to stir up trouble or something of the sort. Shouldn't you be running around out in the fields if you're trying to hunt down monsters and keep the public safe from the unknown? You won't find mysterious Terrans that everyone thinks are blights to society. Nagi suddenly though, kind of angry at this point. This was the kind of persecution that sort of led to espers trying to stay in the shadows for so long. Even if the public was okay with them, and even if they were accepted by the world itself, all it took was someone in a position of power trying to stir up trouble to ruin the relationships that were being built. Whatever you intent is, you're not helping by snooping around and trying to find trouble when most of it's going unnoticed. Dragging things out into the light causes far more tension than just letting things sleep. Nagi thought to himself as he began to watch the officer very carefully, his attention focused on them for the time being.
When the woman he was showing to the train station spoke, Nagi quickly turned away from the officer and spoke to her. "Yeah, we're done. Like the officer said. Different shores. We cooperated." He responded rather curtly as he gave a rather strange look to the officer. If they really were from overseas, then they had no real jurisdiction here in Japan. That meant that most of what they were doing here was either personal or pertained to specific rules, right? They could not go arresting random high school students because they ticked them off. "I hope I was of some help to you 'Monster Hunting' officer." Nagi stated with a bit of a scoff as he moved past the officer and nodded towards the pale girl as if to say that she should probably do the same. Staying there and talking with them would probably just end up making them both late, him to class and her to whatever appointment she had before getting lost. "My advice, go talk to the people that were in those warehouses! They probably think they're doing the world a favor too!" He called out to the officer as he made his way through the crowds of people.
After walking for a few moments, he noticed that the gaze he had felt was starting to diminish quite a bit. Had they simply been moving towards him the entire time and only caught up because he had stopped to talk to someone? Either way, it was a slight relief to finally feel the weight of those eyes moving away from him. "Can you believe that cop?" Nagi stated to the girl, shaking his head slightly as he thought about what they had talked about. "Anyway, I don't think I ever really introduced myself, did I? My name's Okamura." He introduced himself to the foreign woman with a slight smile, obviously having escaped whatever bad mood he had been put in by the conversation. "What do you think about Terrans? Do they scare you or anything like that?" Nagi asked the woman, curious about what her stance was or if she would admit that she was a Terran or not. She certainly looked the part... and she seemed to live in an environment that suggested that was the case. The mountains were pretty accessible, and it meant living outside of a Japanese city.►"I remember being powerless..."°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°"Those days make me who I am!!!"◄
