Illuminata was more than happy to spend time with her children. They were her pride and joy, after all. Nothing made her happier, except maybe when her entire family was altogether at the same time. She spent a lot of time with her sons especially, it seemed. She was often spotted with her eldest son, Florizel and occasionally Lucent, her second eldest, because their jobs related back to her work. The second time she and her beloved Ecthelion had carved idols to be blessed, they had only carved two, having decided that they weren't quite ready to raise another four cubs, even if their first batch had turned out so lovely. From the most recent idols had come a daughter and son and it was that son that she was spending time with today.

Inlustris wasn't as driven as her other children. He seemed despondent at the best of times, wandering through the Districts of the tribe without any aim or passion. She had tried to get him interested in a creative field, but that hadn't made a connection with him. Neither had Florizel's attempts to get him into trading. As far as she knew, Lucent's offer to teach his younger brother to be a blacksmith had also flopped.

But she wasn't about to let a cub of hers wander aimlessly for the entirety of his life! The Great Weaver had a job for him, Iluminata was certain and she was going to help him find it! Some sense of purpose, somehow, was sure to appear. So she started to invite him out with her. She always told him how he'd be helping her out if he carried her bags for her and on the way she would tell him all about the wonders of the Light Tribe, seeing if something, anything, would stick. So far, nothing had, but who knew? Maybe something, eventually, would turn up for him. She hoped so.

In the meantime, she would continue to walk around until he had found himself a calling. Heck, even his life partner would be acceptable to her. Today they were back in the Amber District. He was helping her sort through scales, but he wasn't very good at it, because of his inability to see any sort of patterns in the scales. She knew she would have to search through all the scales a second time and re-sort them with his help, but he seemed to like to think he was helpful; she wasn't about to ruin that for him.

"So...Inlustris," She started as they sorted through the scales they had collected the day before. "What do you do for fun?"

Inlustris didn't know what he was supposed to do with his life. He had been woven out of the love of his parents, but he didn't seem to inherit much besides their colors. He didn't share his mother's passion for the arts or to create. He didn't inherit his father's gentlemanly spirit or protective nature. As for his sister or older siblings, he felt distant from them as ever, no matter what his older brothers tried to get him interested in.

He felt bad for feeling so apathetic about everything they tried to engage him with, so whenever they asked him to tag along with them these days, he would say yes and try to be helpful where he could, even if he was bad at it. Like with his mother, for instance. He had been helping her collect scales and sort them out, but they all looked the same to him! He had made that remark to her once before and she'd waved it away with kind words and encouragements, telling him he just needed practice, but he'd been helping her on and off for a few seasons without any improvement on his part.

Maybe he was better off just wandering through the Districts, not bothering anyone. He let out a sigh as he stared down at two scales that looked roughly the same. Maybe that one looked shinier? He pushed that one with his paw to the left and looked up when his mother tried to engage him in conversation once more.

"I don't know." He replied. With how many times he said that out of a day, he thought, it could become his catchphrase. "Walking, I guess." Not sorting scales, that was for sure. His mother paused her actions and for a moment, he worried he had said that last part aloud. Finally, she suggested they go for a walk and he nodded. "Alright." He replied, leaving her workshop and moving away from it. He breathed a sigh of relief. He much preferred the indoors, even if the workshop was plenty lighted and nestled in a hollow beneath a tree, it still felt cramped to Inlustris. He only went in because he felt bad refusing his mother as she tried her best to help him. At this point, he was starting to doubt if anything ever would.

Yet, they started walking through the Amber District together. His mother talked about inspiration and he resisted the urge to snort. It wasn't like his purpose in life was about to drop on him out of no where.

Humming to herself, Himpata strolled through the Amber District, bright pale blue eyes glistening curiously as they slid over their surroundings. Himpata enjoyed wandering the districts, although she never really felt a particular pull to one or the other. Every job interested her, to a degree, but nothing pulled at her heart. Nothing felt like it was the perfect fit.

The Ruby District was far too rough for her, although she did enjoy watching blacksmiths from time to time. The Citrine District was too relaxed, although she fully respected their ideals there. Emerald District's Alpacows were adorably fluffy, but she definitely was not very good at farming, even though she understood the mechanics behind it. Sapphire District's guards were incredibly interesting, and often a thought in her mind to join, but she was not so sure just yet. Amythest District was often times too hectic for her to follow, even if the wares were gorgeous. The Onyx District was one she did not visit too often, although if she had someone to go visit there, she was certain she would.

The District she loved the most was the Opal District, or as it was better known, the Prism District. Magic was beautiful, although Himpata had absolutely no idea if she really had an aptitude for it. She definitely tried to see how far she could go with things, but she was also far too afraid to really try any sort of healing. At the heart of their tribe, the Prism District was often times the busiest of them all, B'alam streaming in and out almost constantly.

Today, however, she decided she wanted to stay in her home district, the Amber District. It was the one that seemed best suited to her personality, for now, even though she could not figure out what she really wanted to do with her life. With a bit of dramatic flair, Himpata can be found helping many of the other B'alam with their day to day jobs, earning herself a bit of payment here in there in the form of whatever the B'alam happen to sell, which she can eventually trade off should she see fit, to obtain food and other such necceseties.

Himpata's humming continued as her tail flicked back and forth, brushing against the ground ever so slightly. Something caught her eye off to the side, glittering and catching the light just perfectly to catch her attention. An excited gasp left her as she tried to suddenly turn, but not looking where she was going, she collided with the nearest body. Squeaking, she scrambled backwards, rubbing at her nose with a paw. "Sorry about that!" she exclaimed, rubbing her nose again, before she looked up at the pair in front of her.

They were gorgeous, their coat colors complimenting one another nearly perfectly. Their scales shimmered in the light, especially the male's, making her huff in surprise. Her bright, pale colored eyes roamed over the male a few moments longer than they had over the female, before she smiled brightly at the two of them, ducking her head momentarily. "I'm very sorry about that!" she mewed gently, taking another step back just in case she was too close.

Illuminata was the first to recover from the surprise of the other Nantil appearing so suddenly. After all, she hadn't been the one hit,
rather it was Inlustris who received the bump on the nose by the other. Still,
she found it rather amusing, for it seemed her family was always the sort to bump into others, one way or another. Perhaps all of her children had inherited her clumsiness. Yet, it was that clumsiness that had introduced her to her beloved Ecthelion, so she didn't resent it.

Who knew, maybe this Nan would hold the key to her son's happiness too?
The thought was more meant as a humorous one. Inlustris had showed as much interest in females as he had in finding a career of his own. Still, a mother could dream. Florizel had already found his match and she had heard rumors that her Lucent was going to settle down too. She had to keep up with her daughters more, she told herself. Otherwise she was going to seem bias.

"Good gracious, are you alright, dear?" She asked the other Nan, concern in her eyes. The Nan before her was certainly a pretty young thing,
which meant that it would be all the more shame if they had injured her."Are you feeling well? Do you need to be taken to see a healer?" She would have no problems escorting this poor creature to a healer if it was found necessary. They knew two very decent healers in the Prism District,
though Estelle was rather busy these days, whereas Jin, that lovable goof,
was more open to patients, even if he was a little uneasy around Nantils.

"Or, here, if you do not need to be taken to a healer, at least let me take you back to my workshop." She went on. "I can fix you up with something lovely, absolutely no charge. Jewelry is my trade. Well, art is my trade, but who says the two can't co-exist, hm? No, please, I insist." She told the other, her eyes light. "Goodness knows I would love to see more b'alam wearing my pieces anyway." It was free advertising, after all.

Then, a thought struck her and she waved her tail in embarrassment.
"Oh my stars, I've completely forgotten my manners! My name is Illuminata and this is my son, Inlustris. Inlustris, dear, are you alright with returning to my workshop so I may give our new friend something pretty for her troubles?" Silence. Illuminata turned to look at her son and was shocked to see what she found in his eyes. It was something that could have been awe or adoration... Great Weaver, she had meant it as a joke, but... She glanced at the Nantil in front of them. Could this Nan actually be the one for her son? He certainly seemed to think so. Well, regardless of what he thought, he wasn't making a very good impression! Bringing her tail around abruptly, she swatted it against his shoulder! There, that ought to get his attention!

Well, she didn't fall out of the sky so much as hit him upside the face, but Inlustris was starstruck all the same. He ducked his head slightly,
ears twitching backwards in surprise. That was certainly an abrupt stop to his walk, he thought, but looking up, he found that he no longer felt the soreness of his shoulder, where the Nan's nose had hit him. For the Nantil in front of him was beautiful-no, stunning-no, spectacular! He gaped at her as his golden eyes flitted over every inch of her. From her bright blue eyes that were bursting with colors to her scales which matched the colors of the spectral markings of her face. Her fur alone had such harmony of dark and light.
When she took a step backwards, he took one forward, a pull to be near her constantly.

It surprised him, to say the least, because he had never wanted anything so strongly. No, not wanted. Needed. He felt like everything revolved around her and while he was undergoing this grand revelation, he felt a tap from his mother. Her tail against his shoulder. He glanced over to his mother who looked pleasantly concerned and he realized with a jolt that he had been staring at the Nantil without saying anything. What a way to make a first impression. To make it worse, his mother was looking at him expectantly and it was clear he had been asked some sort of question. Great Weaver, help him get through this, he thought, desperately. Yet, rather than the Weaver,
it was his mother that came to his aid.

"You and your daydreams. One would think you were from the Wind Tribe, with how often your head is in the clouds."His mother chuckled. "I said, why don't we return to my workshop?" To the Nantil, she smiled broadly and said, "I do feel bad about any damage I may have caused. And unless you'd care to be taken to a healer, which I can certainly arrange, I'd rather love to give you something you can take along with you." Inlustris felt like his mother was repeating herself for his sake and he nodded his head.

"Y-Yes. I don't mind." He turned to the Nantil and smiled. "I suspect I will enjoy your company. It's not every day I meet such a beautiful Nan." Was that too forward? It certainly caused his mother to look at him with some surprise in her gaze, though there was a small smile upon her muzzle. Had he embarrassed himself? He had very few experiences with other Nantil, but none of them had struck him like this one had. How could he ever be sureif he was doing anything right? Not for the first time, he sent a prayer to the Great Weaver and turned the other way, back in the direction of his mother's workshop, though he craned his head back in the direction of the pretty Nan. "I don't believe I caught your name." He added. "I am Inlustris. It's a pleasure to meet you."

The Nan spoke up first, dragging her gaze from the other. A soft smile adorned her lips as she nodded, but the Nan kept speaking, not allowing her much of a word in edgewise. "I think I will be fine, thank you. It was just a little bump," she managed to reply, just before the other Nan kept rambling on. She was a bit taken back by the Nan's insistence on giving her free jewelry, an uncertain look sparkling behind her eyes. "That is really not necessary, ma'am," she replied, offering a small smile while shaking her head. "I would not mind seeing your workshop, but..."

She continued on. Himpata was growing a bit more flustered every second. Thankfully she was given a little bit of recovery time when the Nan offered her name. The Tah next to her seemed distracted and didn't hear her right away, but Himpata noticed the flick of her tail against the Tah's shoulder. Her own pale eyes shifted towards the Tah, another small smile crossing her muzzle. The Tah had been pretty silent this whole time, making Himpata ever so slightly uneasy after a few moments when she realized it. Something tugged in her chest, but she could not discern what it was, but it was directed at the Tah before her, making her grown even more uneasy. When the Nan named Illuminata started speaking again, the Tah's attention was turned away, allowing Himpata a few moments of privacy to lick down some fur on her chest and shift her paws, forcing herself to become a bit more comfortable.

Pale eyes shifted towards Illuminata, whom had directed her attention towards the younger Nan once more. "No, no! I do not need a healer," she replied rather quickly, her cheeks flushing with heat, hidden by her fur. "There was no damage, and there is really no need for any sort of gift..." she trailed off, looking between Illuminata and the Tah, whom spoke up finally. His voice, while a bit shaky at first, calmed her surprisingly easily. It was not too deep, but was not too high either, and had a beautiful lilt to it. When he called her beautiful, Himpata's ears flicked backwards shyly, taking a half step back from him and ducking her head at the same time, unacustomed to such a compliment.

"Himpata," she practically blurted out in response to him asking her name. She had not meant to. It was a gut reaction. Sheepishly, she ducked her head again, before glancing at Illuminata, before her gaze flicked forward to Inlustris' flank. Himpata wanted to flee, but there was something that drew her forward, and sure enough, she padded along behind the two Light Tribers. "You said... you have a workshop?" she asked Illuminata, trying to make small talk so their journey would not be in complete silence. "Do you have a workshop too, Inlustris?" she inquired. The younger Nan was always interested in the lives of others, wanting to experience all that she could on her way to finding her calling in life.

Illuminata was never troubled by her near constant tendency to chatter and since no one had ever pointed out to her that she could be quite the chittering paroo, so on she went.

"Oh, please, it would be my pleasure. Besides, my favorite thing in the world,
besides my family, naturally, is to see other b'alam wearing my crafts.
" She informed the other. "My dream, you see, aside from seeing my children happy with their other halves or with careers of their own, is to make some form of art piece that incorporates tidbits from all of the tribes. Scales from the Light Tribe, of course, then wool from the Ice Tribe and I here there's a cooled stone in the Fire Tribe that is smooth to the touch, but it was made from something like liquid sun! I don't know the name of it, unfortunately, but it's supposed to be a sight to behold, even if it is entirely black." She snorted a little at that. "Still, perhaps that stone would be good next to whatever we get from the Dark Tribe..." She shrugged. "At any rate, I'm more than happy to show you what I've been working on, whether or whether not you decide to wear one of my pieces home with you. Where is your home district, dear?" She inquired, taking that time to breathe, not realizing that her son had been asked a question until he began to answer.

This quieted the Nan down, for conversation made it more likely for the two to hit it off and if they happened to be compatible, maybe little idols would be carved and blessed in no time! Just the thought of more cubs running around,
she eyed Himpata and Inlustris together, especially in their colors... it made her giddy!

Inlustris was immensely pleased when the other gave her name. Himpata. It was a rhythmic name, he thought, one that felt nice against his tongue. Him-pa-ta. Himpata.
He hoped he would get the chance to say it many more times. He could see himself calling out to her or whispering it in her ear. So many opportunities,
but only if his mother didn't scare her off first! Weaver, his mother could talk.
He usually didn't mind, for her chatter was ample background noise. Usually he didn't pay it much heed, but now, looking at Himpata, he found himself bothered by it.

When finally his mother slowed to take a breath, Inlustris found his place to step in.
"I don't have a workshop, actually. I'm still... well, I'm still trying to figure out what job the Weaver intended for me. There are so many options between all the Districts... I don't know where to start, but I think my mother and I have figured out that art is not where my talents, whatever they may be, lie."
He shrugged with an embarrassed half-smile, before turning his gaze to Himpata. "What about you? Have you settled on a career of your own?"
