Scholomance huffed his discontent into the sky. Life plodded on with its certainty toward disaster, his increasingly precarious business loomed ever more toward collapse, his scanty relationships remained ever volatile, his urge to drink fluctuated like a meth addict's attention span, and all his endeavors as a knight faced the same ethereal wall against progress. 'Why try' became its own mantra. Depression Dog memes looked ever more like an advice column.
Yet here he was, pressing onward through a dozen nondescript rooftops, kicking away nondescript trash, looking for senshi so lurid and unique that they themselves became nondescript. The next highlighter-colored senshi to cross his path guaranteed a migraine by appearance alone, and a secondary headache through the amount of ignorance still plaguing their White Moon conterparts. His project now looked dreary, he knew, as he ambled down another fire escape. Anyone he interviewed for transcendence turned up with the same dopey grin and the same lack of answers. I don't know, it just happened, they would say. Or, his personal favorite, when I came to, I was like this. Their perpetually enigmatic planets pushed to keep them in the dark.
He crossed another skybridge, and left another question behind. He found himself at the edge of a long block of businesses, which now looked out on a courtyard square. Scholomance avoided this area as much as he could for its lack of outlet — jumping down entailed jostling his already sore joints, and bringing the fight into an often bustling area.
Fantastic. He needed another dead end.
With another huff, the Saturn knight drew himself down onto the parapet. Cold stone supported his weight readily, and he crossed one ankle over another to protect his joints. Evening encroached and bleed its deepest darks into night, and soon the greater part of their secret war would wake like a parliament of owls.
Perhaps the Negaverse would have more to say about this transcendence shtick. The thought pulled a chuckle from him.

Arsinoe had wandered a but further out from his usual haunting grounds, making his way over the rooftops of the city on the outskirts of the park. He had sensed another Order signature near by and decided to head in that direction. It wasn't one he was familer with and was just 'off' enough that he was rather sure it was a knight. Not the sort of person he usually made his way toward but given the way his life had been going having extra allies anywhere he could get them wasn't going to be a bad idea. With a General with a vendetta against him he was never going to be short of the need for allies. When he finally spotted the Knight he paused, brow raised slightly. He'd never seen one with dark colors and the ... well rather creepy. The knight reminded him of Arachne in a way. Hopping down off a balcony he landed on the roof not far from the knight, figuring the other man would hear the click of his shoes on the stone to announce his presense. "Don't think I've ever seen you in this area."

The tickle-prickle of familiarity enclosed on him, not that he particularly minded — Scholomance could use all the ostensibly-kind faces he could find right now. At least the practiced brilliance of an eternal senshi assured less chance of being mistaken for the Negaverse's Next Top Villain. Or he hoped.
As he turned to face such light, the man approaching seemed more than a little disinterested in beating him down for Saturn's darks. Rather, he seemed conversational enough, and Scholomance could let go of some marginal anxiety. There was, however, a pressing urge to open conversation with a catcalled helloooooo, Beautiful.
And he was rather glad of stymying that intention when he saw the coiling pink about his skin. Hot pink, not terribly endemic to human skin. An ultra-clean aura that begged Order to flock to it and Chaos to curse it. Yes, of course — as luck would have it, this senshi was transcended. Quite the catch for dumb, blind luck, but there wasn't a terrible lot of ways to find these rare senshi otherwise.
"I don't much care to hang about out here," Scholomance confessed casually. A turn of his wrist with his upturned elbow deflected the thought. "Something about the wide, uncrossable space. Having to jump down then jump back up is a bit much for my old man hips." The wry joke almost fell flat for the way his self-confidence threatened to betray him.
"The name's Scholomance. Knight of Saturn, for all the good that position does me. And don't worry, the bones are fake. Or, at least, I pretend they are." The knight strode forward, unbidden, though careful to stay in conversational range. "Pardon my nosiness, Stranger, but you're transcended, aren't you?"

"Try Yoga, does wonders for keeping in shape." He smirked slightly. He still had issues getting Arin to agree to do yoga with him despite how often his partner commented on how flexible he was. He also still took advantage of their enhanced abilities and, despite getting older, hadn't had any issues. At least not those relating to his age. He listened to the other's words though and raised a brow sightly. Saturn knight. He'd have to ask Arin about those and see if he knew anything more about them. Arsinoe hadn't really run into that many knights outside of those Mag Mell knew. It wasn't something he was proud of. The last question did get his interest though. "I am. Arsinoe of Lanterns." He bowed slightly before straightening up. "At your service. Do you have a question about it?"

"Oho, isn't that a good tip?" Mainly the appeal was in a chance at those hot young college upstarts who were undoubtedly attending. All bronzed, fresh, and thirsty to map out their new freedoms. Yes, he could quite readily sign up for a few yoga classes. Add a hot instructor on top of that and he was pretty certain he'd be testing the stretch factor on those yoga pants.
The name for this one came easily enough. Arsinoe of Lanterns. Quite a strange sphere by his judgment, but if Arsinoe made it to eternal looking rather unscathed, then the power sphere for that likely worked out to his advantage. Much more, at least, than Scholomance's potent but crippling magic. So maybe there was a little appendage envy afoot. It didn't help that Arsinoe looked rather delectable either, but a little out of his age range for blatant promiscuity.
"Actually, I have many questions about it." Scholomance opened his arm outward to map an array. "There's all kinds of questions to answer. What, precisely, does it do for us? Is it a space STD? Can it be cured? Does it need curing? Can we use it to our advantage? How can we spread it? And so on and so forth, you get the idea I'm sure. You look quite smart enough to grasp that type of thing.
"I've got a spot of research done already, courtesy of a good friend Encke. You might know him?
"But I'm getting long-winded about this. If I could have a touch of your time, Arsinoe, I'd quite like to know the tale behind your transcence, and what your transcendence has done for you. Bonus points if you agree to wear a ring and run a few endurance tests for me.
"I'll even buy you a coffee," he added with a wink.

Arsinoe leaned on a hip, arms crossing over his chest at the Saturn knight rambled on for a moment. What was it with knights and talking so much? It had to be something about them that made all of them chatterboxes. It was almost as bad as Thisbe and Tarvos. "That ... is quite a few questions. Most of which I can actually answer I think." He laughed softly, shaking his head. "I think my fiance might take issue if I start letting other men put rings on me though." His grin was mostly teasing but he wasn't sure he wanted to trust a stranger with something like that. He'd been around long enough to be wary of anyone. "It isn't an STD, no it can't be cured since we're uncorruptable. I can't imagine why anyone would want to cute it either. Yes it's advantageous if you have a group, not so much when alone but Senshi shouldn't ever be alone." He had a few ideas about how to 'spread' it but he wasn't sure it was actually that simple. He knew how he'd done it. He had a vague idea how Corvus had but she hadn't had time so far to take him back to her planet yet to show him everything. "I can tell you what happened to me but I can't say I know you enough to let you put something on me."

"Oh honey, I wasn't being literal. Those were just examples — half tongue-in-cheek. Just a little showing off of what I've been looking into." Scholomance smiled his way through the answers nonetheless, tentatively hoping that the look on his face gave enough of a social cue for how the basics were a little unnecessary. He wouldn't interrupt, however.
Scholomacne gave a quick shrug at Arsinoe's reticence. Yes, he looked like something that fell out of the Negaverse, and yes, he probably wasn't the type of gentleman anyone wanted to run into in the middle of the night (unless they were out for a night of fun), but that reservation always dealt a blow. Shifting his weight from one leg to the next, Scholomance reached for the necklace tucked beneath his coat. "It's a signet ring," he explained, holding the silver chain out. "Sends knight messages, instant communications, takes some routine measurements." Struggle he did with clipping the humor out of his mannerisms. Arsinoe seemed a little flighty and reserved for the knight's crude humor.
"But that can wait for another time. Really I'm interested in how you transcended and what you've noticed has happened since then — both with your planet and your body. Beyond the obvious, that is," he finished, gesturing to himself where Arsinoe's glowing markings materalized. Afterward, the signet ring found its home around his neck once more.
"Research is smooth, but I need a larger sample size. All that pattern-searching nonsense rather depends on it. The more we know, the better, you know?" No need for this fractious garbage, he figured.
