Yuan's appearance belies his twenty-five years of age, making him look roughly ten years younger, but he is easily recognized by his infamous blue hair, horn-like fins, and tail that he usually keeps around his hip as a makeshift belt for better convenience.
Despite his short size(5'3), he has a lean, muscular build to him due to his training. Yuan's eyes are amber, with slitted pupils, and his ears are pointed giving him a very distinct look. His blue hair is thick and abundant, with all of the shorter frontal hairs falling across his face as bangs rather than being in the ponytail at the nape of his neck. Clothing

Having watched both his parents tortured and enslaved by Nobles, cause an innocent little boy to have a mind flustered with revenge and with that, Yuan grew into a cold-blooded young man. He comes across as a callous, dispassionate figure, and is rather aloof, brooding, and indifferent. Yuan doesn't make a point to admit it, but he has difficulty understanding human emotions or the behavior of others. He has no qualms about cutting down anyone and everyone in his path, stating that her only aim is to "move forward." Yuan's silence seems to stem from his sense of decorum and personal pride-on many occasions, and he flatly refuses to engage in any behavior that would be considered embarrassing. His defining personality trait is his absolute hatred for nobles, viewing them as tepid and "overprivileged parasites" unworthy of his respect. This hatred extends to the World Government as well as the Marine due to thier ties with the Nobles.
Yuan for the most part, is someone who prefers to be in solitude and always been a sort of a lone wolf ever since he was young and never really sought out the company of other people. He is stoic and composed, constantly appearing emotionless and indifferent to most events, constantly maintaining an aura of maturity despite his child like stature. Yuan shows great bravery and fortitude in any challenge presented before him, and is confident in his abilities. Showing a very no-nonsense attitude, he is straight to the point and speaks no more than necessary. At the same time, he is a very astute and intuitive individual, constantly perceiving the situation at hand determining how best to handle it. This behavior has led people who have interacted with him to believe that he is stuck up or a elitist. This external description is only exemplified by his heavy training regiment and habit of pointing out people's flaws both indirectly and directly.
In terms of battle Yuan is an honorable warrior, who maintains his own set of morals and disciplines, he despises fighting dirty and cheap tactics, and refuses using firearms and artificial enhancements(drugs etc), deeming them unworthy of a "true warrior". Once he judges someone as an obstacle, he is quick to take them down without hesitation. Yuan is perfectly aware of his talents and does not feign modesty, bluntly stating when he is stronger than his opponents and belittling them when they continued to try to fight him. Conversely, if he was proven wrong or somebody posed a legitimate challenge to him, he would admit it, and might even apologize for previous remarks if necessary. Stemming from this, he feels insulted if he knows an opponent isn't using their full power against him.

Yuan hails from a Clan of Fishmen Martial Artists. His father Ran was especially notable for his work finding and releasing Merefolk,and Fishmen being enslaved or sold on the black market. He gained status as a hero among the people, and captured the heart of one of the princesses of the Ryugu Kingdom. However, Ran as well as the princess were captured and taken away. By the time anyone knew what had happened the culprits were long gone. Ran's father raised Yuan in the Dojo as his pupil.
