"I wouldn't say that this is important. At most, I'd say it's a direction we can go in. I've gotten so used to moving around in the wilderness like this, exploring, that it's kind of nerve-wracking to think about the days when I won't be doing this." Rowan stated, looking off to the side for a few moments as he contemplated what his life would be like if Blake and him ended up like Cheyenne and Alistair. The thought made him shiver slightly, realizing just how awkward and disastrous that would end up being if it were the case. I don't even see how he lives with that monster doing nothing but staring at dead bodies all day. I'd run the second I had a chance. Rowan stated, contrary to his actions before the merging of Terra and Earth. The days before their grand adventure started, when they were a simple medium and her Knight... Those were days that were long behind the both of them. Now Blake was some really popular superhero-like person to the Japanese people, and Rowan was an outcast that really did not have too much of a place in society. At home, they were no longer poor people living in a two room apartment... but rich. The drastic change in lifestyle since their initial pact forming was quite alarming to say the least.

After about an hour of near-silence from Rowan as they ate and packed up the camp that they set up, Rowan stretched his neck slightly as he threw his backpack over his shoulder. "I'm honestly wondering what's left for us to do. Carmillion's army is slowly falling apart now that they've merged with Japan. I think the only thing that's staying the same is our Knight-Mage hierarchy. Apparently it's honorable or something for people to dedicate themselves to being lower than someone else. I saw a couple of old movies while I was away that had similar motifs." Rowan stated, turning towards the mountain and moving into the forest surrounding it. "It's kind of weird how accepting Earth is too. You figured they'd see us as invaders, but we've integrated pretty well into their societies." Rowan stated, not really much for conversing about the larger scheme of things... but trying to relate to what he believed Blake's world was like in her social circle. He did not quite realize that Blake was more the idol-type rather than a representative of Terra. While she did give the Terrans good PR, it was not like she was writing up documents and drafts to aide Terrans in day-to-day lives. Their status as nobility was solely based on accomplishments as a Knight-Mage pair and the plethora of wealth they accumulated from the dragons they slew.

It took Rowan about an hour of walking along the mountain path that opened up before them before he finally became frustrated with their little journey. "I'm starting to think that your Trinity Curse is a living, breathing entity. When your dad's with me, the adventure never stops getting wild. The second you show up, it's like bad luck just plagues us. I'm surprised we haven't been jumped by giant spiders like we always do. I guess that it'll be a bit of a different experience up here on the mountain though." Rowan stated, kind of not sure about how he felt in regards to the situation. There were quite a few lifeforms on this mountain, despite the fact that he could not physically see almost any of them. "I wouldn't be surprised if we suddenly got jumped at some point up here." Rowan murmured, unsure of what to think about the area he was currently in. His backpack had a glow within it from the dagger, the Armament having clearly located the origin of its nature, whatever that may be. Alistair seemed to know what the dagger was... but he would not tell Rowan a thing about it.

I hate my life... It was the only thought going through Rowan's mind as he was laying on his back, wolves strewn on top of him and batting him with their paws playfully. The beasts were giant, glittering, and overall way too happy to be what he would consider normal dire wolves. The normally vicious creatures were nothing more than oversized dogs with the way they were acting. Why is it always like this? Rowan thought to himself, his eyes looking over towards Blake as he contemplated exactly what he was supposed to do in this type of situation. The two of them had been traversing across the mountain without too much concern. Having explored the Sky Platform, this place was nothing compared to its dragon-infested landscapes. While Rowan had sensed the creatures long before they jumped him, he had not felt any hostile intent... and still did not. That was how they managed to get a hold of him. Then he was simply contemplating whether or not he should smite them with intense demonic fire or if he should simply get up and go on his merry way. After a few moments, he chose the latter of the two.

About ten minutes of walking, however, made him realize that these creatures were not going to leave him alone. That was what led to the situation they were currently in. "I don't see why animals like me so much. The bear, the snakes, the fish... they all come rushing towards me whenever they get the chance. We'll have a zoo before we ever retire..." Rowan stated, mocking his unnatural way of drawing animals to him. While he may normally attribute something like this to Blake's unnatural way of drawing bad luck to him, this same phenomena occurred during his travels with Alistair. That was actually when he found the most animals that he had brought back. That was how he confirmed that whatever it was... it was him drawing all these animals to himself. "We don't have time to play around... Maybe they'll tire themselves out if we just let them be..." Rowan muttered, picking himself up and moving forward. Every step he took, the pack of wolves simply trotted along behind him, having found someone that they could listen to and call their pack leader. For Rowan, however, it felt more like a burden than anything else. If they were not so rich, the two of them would be poor from all the animals they had to feed.

On the bright side, anything that tried to jump the two of them would undoubtedly be mauled to death and quickly dispatched by the sheer number of wolves that were traveling with them currently. Every now and then, Rowan would feel one of them nuzzle his hand trying to get him to pet it. After a while... Rowan finally broke and began acting somewhat friendly to the creatures, scratching them behind the ears every now and then with a sigh of defeat. "Well... I'm sure Lucy will be happy .She always wanted a dog when she was growing up.... now she'll have six of them to play with." Rowan muttered, staring at the creatures that were nearly as tall as he was. "Maybe we should give our feet a bit of a rest." Rowan stated, placing a hand on the scruff of one of their necks as he climbed on top of the creature. "Riding the wolves will make this trip faster. You should probably do the same." Rowan called back to Blake, turning to his Mage as he stared at her with a rather blank expression. These fairy-like wolves were not really his style... but he could put up with it if it meant they could make progress a little bit faster.

STOP ROLLING ANIMALS! Dx lol

As you begin trekking up the mountain, you seem to be flanked by a group of creatures: dire wolves. The pack seems to be following but not hunting. As the six approach, light bounces and reflects off of what seem to be dust flecks in their fur. For anyone who knows anything about fae, this is very similar to fairy dust.

As the wolves began to run up the mountain Rowan heard the sound of a dragon, something he had grown very familiar with during his time in the Snowy Mountains. Looking up, he saw the silver dragon flying in the sky as the wolves began to come to a skidding stop, frightened by the creature. Rowan, staring up, simply looked at it with the most bored expression that he could not even bother to change. You know... having Gram made me think that I'd be less likely to run into dragons... but that's all that ever tries to fight me. Maybe they're angry about what it did to them all those years go. Maybe they're just dumb enough to think they can take me on despite the fact that... Rowan was not really thinking much was the creature turned towards the pack, rushing a them all as it prepared to unleash a devastating breath att- and it was dead. Rowan had simply teleported right in front of it and pinned its head into the mountain side with his sword, using enough force to complete decimate its head due to all of its dragon properties being negated. Before he even had time to land, the young man simply teleported back to where he was at on top of the wolf, sending the poor creature into a fright as it tried to understand what had just happened.

"Well... I looks like we've got dinner for the night. And those silver scales and their magical properties will fetch a pretty penny, even if it's a young dragon." Rowan stated, looking over towards Blake with a rather casual expression on his face. "I'll go collect some materials from it. I learned we make a lot more money if I don't damage the wings." Rowan stated, moving over towards the dragon before he happily began carving into the creature with some amusement. Dragons were his natural enemy, so he found some form of enjoyment in absolutely destroying them whenever he came across them. It was different from usual fights where he outmatched his opponents utterly. Here... he was fulfilling a sort of purpose in a way. It took him the better part of the hour to fully carve up the dragon's body, the wings being especially difficult due to their size and the way he had to remove them from the body. He had to remove the leathery parts from the main part of the wings, as they were the most important part of the wings. Rowan also had to cut the wings apart by the joints in which the fit together so as not to cause too much damage to the dragon bones underneath.

"You know... sometimes I wonder whether or not I should try and get someone to make me a sword out of all this dragon stuff we get. My body negates dragons... so I wonder if it'd just destroy the weapon, negate its properties, or if it'd combine with my sword in the same way that Demon's Bane does." Rowan contemplated as he turned back towards Blake. "What do you think would happen? You think the sword would just be stronger... or weaker because of my connection to Gram?" Rowan asked her... not too sure about what exactly he was now that Gram had become infused into his body. Some part of him believed that the two of them could be separated if he tried... but Blake most likely knew that this was an impossibility. Rowan's body was the Armament now. It effectively turned him into a demon with the status "Armament." While it was not the most ideal situation, there was no harm in Rowan being what he was now. "Here..." Rowan stated, tossing some of the dragon's meat over towards the pack of wolves. They gleefully began to partake in the dead creature.

Oh no! A high-level encounter!

... I really need to stop rolling dragons for this guy...

Continuing your ascent, a familiar roar echoes out across the sky. Looking up, a flash of light reflects off the creature, the light of the setting sun bouncing off of its metallic scales. This is a silver dragon and looks to be about the age of a young adult. Smoke drifts off of its skin, the air that surrounds it chilled due to its very presence. It also has a paralyzing breath attack that will effect a character for five posts.... but you're just going to murder it, aren't you?

▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱ "A direction we can go in..." Blake repeated in a mumble, mostly to herself. Her gaze shifted to the flames before her. If she was right about what he meant, it seemed that Rowan had come to a similar point as her. All her life, she thought she was on a straightforward path to following in her mother's footsteps. Learning magic and the work of the trade. Her goal had been to simply sell a mausoleum, the goal of any good mortician, and own her own funeral home. Things had really taken a strange turn after moving to Yeria. Not only did she have access to more gold than a mausoleum could get her, but she was popular... Not just popular but a noble and some kind of idol that was on the news and spoken about often. Where she ended up was weird. It wasn't that she didn't enjoy it or appreciate it, but it was definitely strange. Between interviews, photography sessions, signings, appearances... The only people that had ever gotten that sort of attention in Carmillion were true members or royalty or the best of the best Knights or Mages. Blake's main issue with the whole situation was that she felt kind of... at a loss. She'd always had a plan, and that plan had all but been thrown out the window at this point. The most personal progress she'd made on her own lately was into the research of interplanar creatures. This is where her thoughts drifted off to as they ate. Of course, she hadn't forgotten about Argent. It seemed her line of thought was accurate when Rowan continued on the subject as he prepared to continue moving. The woman internally groaned when she stood. "Yeah, things are getting kind of... muddled. Heh, though I'm surprised. I didn't think movies would be your thing. Still... despite how well the governments seem to be getting along, there are a lot of people who do see us as invaders and do whatever they can to make us look like criminals..." The statement made her think back to that terrorist group.

After a good stretch of the legs, the two of them headed out, moving toward the mountain that had just revealed itself. Blake was torn somewhat regarding their surroundings. On the one hand, she needed to be paying attention to the possibility of an attacker lurking about the rocks and whatever trees were around. On the other, there seemed to be mana all over this place. All the magus wanted to do was stop and look at, well, everything. Some sort of rainbow-colored butterfly had caught her attention when Rowan brought up what he called the "Trinity Curse". She could not help but to chuckle at the title, remembering the Knight mentioning something similar once before. "You say it like there's some blood hex on our family line," the blonde joked with a grin. "Things have been going pretty well for the most part." At least, she had thought so. Besides, if they were jumped it was totally his fault. It was just as the thought crossed her find that a glittery flash of grey shot past her.

Blake couldn't look very long at the sight that greeted her next. Attempting to hide her amusement, the half elf covered her mouth with her hand. A pack of sparkling dire wolves had jumped her Knight almost on cue, and it was- Too cute! That's way too cute! The creatures, normally hungry, snarling beasts were acting like a bunch of excited pets. Rowan did not seem at all happy with the situation. "I think if anyone's cursed, it's you with these animals. How many have we come by?" Blake asked with an amused expression, placing her hands on her hips. His statement about the zoo made her chuckle, but he wasn't wrong. They had come across an unnatural amount of creatures who seemed to just form an attachment with the man. It's not like he could point the finger at her, either. Rowan seemed to be a magnet for this sort of thing. The cuteness did not end there, however, as the massive animals basically begged for his attention while the two of them continued. Blake couldn't help but laugh a little when he finally gave in. "I didn't know Lucy liked dogs. Compared to other animals, I mean." When he suggested taking to riding the animals, however, the half elf did not hide her enthusiasm for the idea. "Yeah, sounds like a plan," she agreed. After reaching out and petting one of them, Blake made a platform to make climbing onto the dire wolf easier. It was tempting to simply collapse onto the thing. "Might as well get some use out of them if they're coming along, right? Oh- geez." When they sped up, she had to double-check her grip.

It wasn't too long after that she heard a familiar sound, one she hadn't heard in quite some time. Despite that, it was still all too recognizable. The wolves seemed bothered by the creature, but Blake simply sighed before looking up to see the shiny dragon in the air. The woman almost pitied the creature as it dove down on them before ultimately being stopped and consequently murdered by Rowan. "Sounds good. I don't think I've seen this color before, so it might be able to bank us a little more normal." She slid off the wolf she'd been riding, a curious expression on her face as he carved the creature up. Ever since finding Gram, the mage had done a decent amount of studying up on dragons. While dismembering it for parts was rather gruesome, it said a lot about their anatomy. Every once in a while, she'd ask a question or two that he might have known the answer to. He'd fought plenty, after all. When he seemed to be finishing up, Rowan turned back and asked her a question in return. "Huh. I never thought about that. My guess is that you would negate its properties. A weapon out of the materials would be pretty impressive on its own, though, and it might still combine. I don't see it retaining of its supernatural properties with you wielding it, though. Of course, that's not really something I can be sure of," Blake added. "It's not like we don't have the funds for something like that. You should try it out, see what happens. It'll be interesting either way."

"If you focus too much on what could go wrong, you'll lose sight of what'll go right." ▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰

A whole hour wasted. Most people would have become lost on this mountain, but Rowan was, instead, slightly confused by its layout and the shifting rocks that tried to carry him and Black all the way back down the mountains. Luckily, the pack of wolves were pretty good at keeping their footing, and with Rowan leading them he was only deterred slightly in his original path. "There's nothing on this mountain. This thing keeps glowing but I can't find a single thing that will tell us where to go or if we're even on the right track. It's irritating..." Rowan complained, a rather dark intent creeping out from the man as he contemplated all the horrible things he would do to any creature that dared to show up in front of him at this point. Rowan's way of dealing with stress was often associated with violence, especially when he was subjected to the Trinity Curse. Blake's family was notoriously cursed with bad luck, from exploding houses to loved ones dying through unexpected means. When they were exploring, however, this took the form of Rowan never coming across a single thing except annoyances.

Case and point, Rowan was now riding up a mountain with Blake on sparkling giant wolves. The situation could not be any more irritating than it currently was for him. All the while, he could barely shake off the memory of that woman from the house that had directed him towards the dagger this morning. She wanted him to start searching in this mountain for something... and now all he had to do was figure out what she wanted. She could have at least given me directions or something. I'm at a complete loss. Should I try and use the dagger to pinpoint some location or something? Is it really a part of a compass? What am I even doing on this damn mountain!? Rowan screamed in his mind as the seconds ticked by, the hour dwindling with no sign of their journey coming to an end. Heaving a frustrated sigh, the man turned towards Blake with what could only be considered genuine distaste. "When we get back... we're setting up a meeting with a divination expert... You have to be cursed in some form or fashion... There's no other explanation for this." Rowan stated, refusing to believe that this level of bad luck was anything but unnatural.

Maybe Rowan was being a bit too rough around the edges. Used to saying rather hurtful things, it was kind of strange that he was now finding himself trying to watch how he berated others, especially Blake. Talking about her like she was cursed... maybe it was going just a little bit too far. Watching his Mage out of the corner of his eye, Rowan simply sighed and directed his wolf to slow down so that she could catch up next to him. "I know.... that I'm probably not the most caring person in the world. It's hard for me to show exactly who I am after everything that's happened to me. I'm full of a lot of rage... and things irritate me quite a bit more than they should. I'm just... used to everything being a lot worse than it really is." Rowan stated, reflecting on how their lives had been up until this point. Personally, his life had been tragedy after tragedy, battle after battle, and there did not seem to be a single break between any of the events. The closest thing he had to normal, everyday life were the times he and Blake adventured before they started searching for his killer, for revenge.

"Maybe I just... don't know how to be human anymore..." Rowan muttered, looking up towards the sky a bit as he noticed a large bird roaming above them. That might prove to be a problem at some point... it definitely looked like one. But the point of being with her... now... is to try and make the most out of what I have. Even if it's... difficult. Rowan thought to himself, sighing as he reached over and plucked his Mage off of the wolf she was riding. Maybe they could have had a more enjoyable experience on this little adventure if he had been more... attentive towards her. In a swift movement, he set her on his wolf in front of him so that she could just lean back and relax without worrying about falling off. "Sorry..." Rowan muttered as he simply stared forward, the moonlight shining down at them as midnight began to approach. The entire mountain was alight with a blue hue, sparkling rocks shining all around them due to how clear the sky was. The only distinct darkness was the shadow of the bird that flew overheard, its body blocking out the moonlight as it circled around them, mischief in the air.

As the wolf trotted up the side of the mountain, the stones around them began to emit a familiar golden hue. Were they reacting to the dagger that was in his backpack? While curious, he stopped himself as he began to reach back to pull the dagger out of his bag. His mind, slightly frozen, processed what he actually wanted to do in this moment, what he should be doing. Then, with a sigh, he simply wrapped one arm around Blake and continued staring forward, his face not really changing from its general expression. Whatever secrets the dagger held... they were not important. Blake's feelings... whatever this moment might be for the two of them... that was far more important than some Armament that he had found in some lake. Maybe it's my lack of priorities that's making me unable to figure out what I want. Rowan thought, looking down at Blake's face as he contemplated what it is he wanted in this new life of his. "Or maybe I do know what I want.... or at least where I want to be" He muttered to himself. Rowan was a very blunt person, yet things like this usually escaped him on how they should be handled. Was this romantic? Or maybe she was uncomfortable?

Congratulations! You get your own animal! Yay! Birds!

As you continue along your way, it's getting dark. Luckily, the shadow that passes over you does not go unnoticed. Fortunately for all parties, it is no dragon, simply a bird. It is, however, an abnormally large bird of prey. As it moves, its feathers refract the little light in hues of blue, the same color shimmering in its irises. Becoming influenced by the area and the fae that live there, it has a taste for mischief similar and is capable of causing strange effects. These vary. Someone well-versed in fae lore may be able to recognize this as Merlin's Eagle.

▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱ Blake yawned. It was getting late and beginning to feel like they were getting, well, nowhere. The fact that they had gotten this far this early was impressive enough. When they had set out for the purposes of revenge, the two of them had been prepared to spend some time outside the kingdom. Not even a day had passed this time, and they had a decent lead. That was the conclusion she had come to. They'd come across this mountain, after all. Between the way it and the Armament shined, the pair wasn't far off from being in the right place. Seems like Rowan was feeling the same way and not afraid to be verbal about it. "We have to be on the right track. Why else would it be glowing? Just because our progress has slowed down doesn't mean its stopped completely," she offered, attempting to keep up the moral. When he sighed and turned to her, however, she couldn't help but shiver from how wholly displeased he looked. "A divination expert?! Geez, you make it sound like I'm sick or something." Blake breathed a sigh of her own, looking down at the dusty wolf she was riding. Can you believe this guy? "Alright, alright. Whatever you say," the half elf agreed while shaking her head. I guess poor luck has to come from somewhere. At least an explanation for it. If we set up this meeting, though, and I'm not cursed, he's buying me lunch. Not that money was really an issue for either of them but it was... the principle of the matter. Blake nodded to herself with that thought as they continued on.

She was tempted to check her phone for the time. Ever since they'd gotten to the mountain, the bars had all disappeared, so it wasn't like she was going to be getting any messages soon. Contacting someone was the easiest thing now. Couriers, carrier birds, and landlines be damned. Cell phones were the way to go. Blake just wished there were simpler... Last time she checked, it was around eleven, but if she had to guess, that was a about an hour ago. At least the moon was out. Everything seemed to shimmer in its light. If this place was anything, it was certainly pretty. Another sigh caught her attention. Heh, you'd think that's his favorite hobby or something. It seemed Rowan had slowed down enough for her to catch up. "What's up?" They probably needed to stop and set up camp soon. Going for too long could do more harm than good. The... topic of discussion, however, threw Blake for a loop.

"Hey, I understand..." Though the two of them had been through quite a lot together, Rowan specifically was dealt a hand not many could even imagine. She offered him a reassuring smile, but Blake could not shake the feeling his statements gave her. For a moment, she could just look on as the Knight gazed up to the sky, somewhat at a loss for words. A thought crossed her mind. Well, it would have had she not been pulled from the dire wolf she'd been riding. "H-hang on..." This was certainly a welcome surprise but a surprise all the same. Heat immediately rose to her face and no doubt a good amount of color. Wondering from where this was coming, Blake looked up to try to futilely get a read on the man's face. All she was met with was his apology. The Mage stared at him for a moment, maybe two. Rowan... A breath left her, one partly of relief, as she smiled and simply lean back into him with closed eyes. "Hmm. It's alright. I don't think you've forgotten, just so you know." This much was true, despite the woman's optimism naturally opposing these sorts of statements. "Don't worry, though. If that's how you see it, then I'm happy to help remind you." A shadow passed over them, momentarily blocking out the moon, and it happened several times. Was something following them? If it were a problem, Rowan would surely say or do something about, so it was probably just a bird. At least, she hoped it was just a bird.

For a time, Blake stayed like that. Doing her best to fight off the sleep that attempted to creep in. It was easy enough because her chest was pounding like crazy. She had finally gotten it to calm down when Rowan put his arm around her making the poor fae have to start all over again. Not that she was complaining by any rights. The sentiment, the warmth, it was not lost on her. It was when Blake had nestled in closer to him that the Knight spoke again. From the way it sounded, he was offering an answer or even the second half of a conversation. Where he wants to be, huh...? Given the woman's drowsiness, the statement didn't necessarily click right away. Blake blinked, opening her eyes to meet Rowan's gaze. A gold glowing surrounded them, the stones probably reacting to the Armament in his bag, but there was no doubt that the light instilled a certain mood in this moonlight. As she stared up at him, she couldn't help but think there was beauty in this moment. The gears in her head, however, were clicking away, slowly putting two-and-two together. Her eyes widened. "R- Rowan, I-" The meaning in his statements finally hit its mark; she immediately dropped her gaze to the glittering fur of the wolf and then off to the side in a somewhat hopeless attempt to hide just how flushed she was at that point. He's trying to give me a heart attack with all this, I swear! That's it. That has to be it. This is all some elaborate attempt to kill me naturally. How else could this be happening? Dazzle me to death why don't you? As she attempted to distract herself with something, anything, that'd calm her down, a large bird perched on a boulder screeched out a cry. Thankful, Blake looked over at the creature.

It looked... amused or perhaps concerned at the situation it was witnessing. She really couldn't tell if it found humor in this or if it related to her. Either was silly. It was a bird, after all. Had it been the owner of the shadow that had been following them? Weird... Something in it seemed to be changing, the brightness of its eyes, the blues in its feathers. Whatever it was, Blake found it impossible to look away. She felt almost trapped at this point. No longer was the image an escape but a fixation. Whatever this was, she didn't like the effect it had on her. In fact, it almost felt like a spell, like mana. "Oh..." The quiet sound loosely fell from the elf's lips. A second two late, she'd realized she'd fallen into some sort of trap, and something in Blake changed. It wasn't a break or snap, nothing so drastic... merely the turning of a dial or more accurately, the removing of filters. The bird screeched again before taking off, snatching up a rabbit for its midnight meal. Blake smiled.

"Heh, you surprised me some, Rowan. I wasn't expecting you to be so... straightforward. Mm, right. That's part of your charm, though." One hand traced over the one Rowan had at her waist while the other arm hooked up behind his neck. She pulled herself up closer to him. The expression on her face was certainly different from any the woman would usually make; it was tempting, daring and required more confidence than Blake was used to presenting. Like she was looking at things through a different light. "So... where exactly is it that? Because we're not going to be able to be anywhere if we run ourselves into the ground, you know." She let him go before leaning back once again, this time much more comfortable with doing so. One should move with purpose, after all. "You are impressive, but everyone has their limits. Should find somewhere to stop for the night. Relax a bit. Basic needs and what-not."

"If you focus too muh on what could go wrong, you'll lose sight of what'll go right." ▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰
