Name: Zhàndòu Húwáng
Nickname: Zhàn, Bǎo [by his mother ONLY], Shawn [for anyone too lazy to ACTUALLY pronounce his damn name]
Age: 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28
Birthday: May 1
Sign: Taurus
Gemstone: Emerald
Blood Type: B+
Fav. Food: Zhàn is a big fan of pretty much anything that is portable and healthy.
Hated Food: Anything from McDonald's. You can tout how they're changing all you want, he doesn't care at all for them. By extension, he also cannot stand most greasy foods.
Occupation: Freelance journalist/Resolutions Representative for an airline
Hobbies: K-Pop & K-Drama - This boy is a huge fan of both K-Pop groups and K-dramas, and his Tumblr is FULL of gifs, discussions, and random other things regarding both. His Google playlist is stuffed full of K-Pop songs, and it isn't weird to see him doing homework with a K-Drama playing in the background. Or binging on Netflix or Crunchyroll when he's on vacation.
Aikido - Introduced to the martial art at a young age by a co-worker of his mother's, Zhàn has continued practicing Aikido into his adulthood as not only a method of self-defense, but also as a sort of meditation and way to center himself to avoid the burnout many people in his age group experience. The non-martial aspects of it are also amazing for helping him reign in his temper when someone is being particularly frustrating. Like his baby sister.
Blogging - Zhàn runs three types of blogs; the first is his personal Tumblr, which is full of K-Pop and K-Drama fandom geekiness, along with other things regarding his life and the world around him, the second is a more...nsfw Tumblr that he keeps very guarded from most people he knows offline. The third, however, is the one he's actually known for. The third is a blog called 'Foxy Insights' and is something of an advice blog and journalism blog and 'how to adult' blog all rolled into one. Foxy Insights is where he posts his journalism bits from school once they've been graded, where he takes questions from readers who are looking for some help in keeping their lives straight and dealing with being more 'alternative' than their families might like, and where he posts multiple 'how-to's regarding life and the many challenges high school never prepared you for.
Travel - Working for an airline in reservations means he has the amazing perk of being able to fly standby for free, or nearly free. And he takes advantage of it often as he can. Weekend trips along the east coast, visiting friends and colleagues across the country. Heck, he's even been to Seoul! Which, by the way, is his absolute favorite travel story.
Virtues: Structured - Life is best when well-ordered. Oh, he does have some spontaneity in his life, because having everything planned isn't good for the soul, but he has routines and ways of doing things that help keep his life running smoothly. He takes the chaos of life and gives it some order so it can be handled in manageable chunks.
Inquisitive - Zhan has to know. He's curious about the world, about people, and he isn't the sort to just sit and wonder. He gets up and does the legwork to find out. He asks questions, he does research on the internet or in the library, and once he knows the answer? Well, he simply finds a new question to answer!
Caring - Zhan gives a s**t about his coworkers, classmates, family, and friends. He even gives a s**t about the people who call in because travel plans went awry. He tries his best to look out for others, to help them as best he can. He reminds people to eat or get a drink, to stretch every couple of hours. He tries to find solutions that are in favor of the passenger at work. He is, for lack of a better term, the Mom Friend.
Flaws: Nosy - Zhan wants to know everything. The latest gossip, the latest news, and where that very interesting bruise came from. His search for the Truth and Knowledge can...sometimes turn him into a right nuisance, like any good reporter.
Overbearing - The Momfriend through and through, Zhan just wants the best for the people he cares for, or are under his care. Combine it with his structured tendencies and...well, it can be His Way or the Highway. And he has no qualms about crossing his arms and not taking any flak. Even when his way isn't the only way or the right way.
Overambitious - Sometimes, the man bites off more than he can chew. He wants to get to the top, wants to be the best at what he does. And it can lead to strained relations with other people and his own schedules. It isn't rare to see him living off the energy provided by energy drinks just to see him through Too Many Courses At Once. Or Too Many Projects At Once. It also isn't rare to see tentative friendships break and crumble because he put more energy and time into his journalism than he should.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTIONReferenceEyes: Golden-brown, thick lashes, very much the shape of his Han Chinese roots
Hair: Naturally black, but bleached to an off-white with the tips dyed a pale violet. [see ref]
Face: He's got a face that makes him look like he is forever stuck at 'teenage boyband sensation'. It's rounder, but not so round as to be a true babyface. His skin is somewhat tanned, but he's not reached surfer levels of tanned.
Clothes: This boy loves looking like he walked out of a K-Pop group even though he can't hold a tune to save his damn life.
