 Rob Van Dam was backstage, preparing for his upcoming match by performing various leg exercises, warming himself up so he wouldn't be rusty when he got in the ring, and when he was told it was time to go, he begins walking towards the ring, through hallways and other backstage areas, stretching his arms while on his way. He smiles at people he was passing by, before eventually making it to the curtains. When he was given the signal, and when his theme started, RVD began to head to the arena."One of a Kind" hits the speakers in the arena and the audience pops with cheers once they heard it, knowing Rob Van Dam was about to come out and put on a show. RVD walks out from backstage, walking to the top of the ramp and does a "Rob..Van..Dam.." taunt before walking down the ramp a ways and begins high fiving some of the fans' hands, and is introduced. Announcer: "Intruducing from Battle Creek Michigan, weighing in at 236 pounds, ROB VAN DAM!"After his introduction, Rob made it to the ring, where he hopped onto the apron and entered the ring, climbing onto a corner and spreading his arms out, admiring the audience that has always cheered for him and supported him in his career. He gets down, circling the ring and eventually does another one of his RVD taunts before his theme would fade out and he begins to wait for his opponent/is ready for the match to start!

The crowd was silent, ready for the match thst was about to begin. The match was scheduled for one-fall, contested by the renowned legend, Rob Van Dam who'd returned at the Royal Rumble and the Ultimate Opportunist, the Rated-R Superstar, Edge, who'd made his return at the aforementioned event.
"...You think you know me?"
The famous question was asked, followed by a heavy drumming, the introduction to Alter Bridge's 'Metalingus'. White smoke rose from the mouth of the ramp, flowing constantly. All of a sudden, a figure walks through the smoke. It was Edge, pumped up and ready to compete. The six foot five man slid his golden-blond hair back, as he scanned the people in attendance. They were expecting a great match, and Edge wasn't one to disappoint. He'd walk down the ramp, flicking his wrists as he was containing his overpouring excitement. Edge had the intensity in his eyes.
[From Toronto, Ontario, Canada, weighing 245 pounds....]
Once he heard the announcer, Edge, at the middle of the ramp, would plant his feet apart, looked down for a few moments and lowered his arms, letting them hang.
[.....EEEEDGEEEEE!!!]
Upon hearing his introduction, Edge would rise up, throwing his hands to the sky, forming his famous devil horns hand signal, pyro going off at the mouth of the ramp! After the fireworks went off, Edge would lower his arms and would keep on walking down the ramp. A few feet away from the ring, Edge would run towards the ring, sliding. He'd stay on the mat for a few seconds, scanning the ring. Edge would spring up and walked towards a corner, getting on the corner and making his devil horns signal once more. The crowd would cheer for the Rated-R Superstar. Edge would get down, staring down his opponent as he took off his trench coat.

Edge was eager to finally face a real opponent, unlike a certain punjabi c0ckloving retard he gifted a match to. The bell would ring three consecutive times, signalling the beginning of this match between two legit competitors. Upon hearing the bell, Edge would get in his stance and circle the ring, scanning RVD's movements, as the hardcore legend was a flashy, wild, yet dangerous opponent whose 5 Star Splash and hard kicks were something to be cautious about.

Edge and RVD's arms met, testing who pressed more, who deadlifted more, who squatted more. Edge was surprised, as RVD was considerably stronger than Jinder Mahal, who was the weakest wrestler Edge had ever met, including all the women he knew before the encounter. Edge would try to quickly transition the lock-up into a collar and elbow tie-up.

RVD knowing Edge was probably gonna over power him transitions the whole thing into a side headlock to try and get the advantage that way.

Like a standoff, RVD drew his six-shooter and subsequently pulled the trigger first. Edge's attempt to transition was met with a swift hold by Van Dam. Edge's head was caught in Rob's side headlock.

RVD keeps the headlock in, knowing Edge will get out of it soon but knows also that it might drain some energy out of him here early on.

Struggling to get out of the hold were futile, as Rob Van Dam was holding it tight. Edge decided to attempt to wrap his arms around Rob's waist.

With his arms wrapped around RVD's waist, Edge would attempt to lift RVD explosively, attempting to hit a back suplex.
