For weeks Ajani had been dodging those who were chasing him. Whenever he thought he could stop and rest, he would catch see a figure in the distance. Figures that seemed all too familiar. So far Ajani had been fortunate to find some water wherever he was but water alone wasn't going to sustain him. And as knowledgeable as he was in what plants were safe to eat, harvesting too much would only leave a trail.
The lion began to slow his pace. It had been days since he last felt the gut-wrenching fear of the past. Peering at the horizon, the sun had just begun to dip, splashing the heavens in an array of colors. Ajani tried to take comfort in the beauty of the sky before settling down beside a growth of brushes. He told himself that he could take a short rest, that he would start up again once the full moon was at its peak as to guide him away from those who would do him harm.
