No one quite knew how Lailah had gotten hold of a digital camera, not even Lailah herself, but currently she was trying her best to use it. It was now the beginning of spring, and while it was still cold at times, today had actually been pretty warm. Warm enough that she didn't have to wear any sort of heavy overcoat, and the sun had been shining, as much as it could in the dim twilight. Unfortunately, being at school meant being inside all day, and it took a toll on Lailah's happiness. Which is why, when classes were finally over, she had gone outside.

It was especially nice now that the days were once again starting to last longer, and the night didn't come as quickly. So Lailah had hung around the playground for a bit, trying to take pictures with her new camera. And now, the sun was starting to set, and with the clouds in the sky, it was painting what could be described as a very pretty picture, if someone was actually making it, and Lailah had climbed to the top of the jungle gym trying to get the best sunset and cloud pictures that she could, especially since one could only barely tell that it was setting.

If there was only one thing she regretted about all of this, is that the moment was fleeting, and she could only capture it's beauty through the camera, and could only try to remember it. If only she could make amazing sunset pictures. It was so beautiful. She sighed wistfully.

Lailah only barely heard the other voice, but it was enough to get her to turn her head around and look. She smiled at the other. "I'm taking pictures of, well, what you can call the 'sunset' here. Though I wish the pictures looked a bit better. I would bet that up there there's a better sunset." She sighed wistfully, almost forgetting that someone else was still there.

She turned her face back to Sanlen though. "I'm Lailah. What's your name, if I may ask?" She said, wondering what the other was called. She always was curious about names, all of the different types that others could have, if any where named the same as hers, etc.

"Well, it's very nice to meet you too Sanlen." Lailah replied watching as the chimera came up to join her. She was happy that she had wings herself, but often wondered what it would be like to have a tail. Though she really wasn't sure if there would be any point in her having a tail. After all, she had some lower wings too, and those got in the way plenty of times...

She finally got back to the conversation they were having. "I'm in Eldritch." She hadn't really cared about what school she was in, but was happy when she had been accepted, so any dorm was fine with her.

"Would you like to see my camera Sanlen?"

If they were in each other's classes, Lailah would have never noticed. Between looking at the clouds outside, and her head being inside the clouds that she created in her mind, she wouldn't have remembered if Sanlen was one of her classmates. "It would be interesting if we had a couple of classes together." She replied, though it didn't seem as though she was really talking to them.

She looked back at Sanlen. "It is. I suppose looking at it on the ground would be the better idea." She said, before starting to make her way down. "I like pictures, it helps me to remember the moment if I'm forgetting. Even though it's just cloud watching, I want to remember what this was like, and if I rely only on my memories, then eventually it will fade. But I believe that if I take a picture of it, it will help me to remember it better." She said as she continued to move down to the ground. Sure, she had wings, but she hardly ever used them. If anything they were more of a nuisance than serving any practical purpose.

Lailah smiled at him. At least the conversation was interesting. "But they're never in the same position. And sometimes, some of the ways they look are more interesting that others. Most of the time they seem to just be in irregular shapes but other times they swirl or look like a blanket in the sky." She sighed a bit. Perhaps the chimera just didn't understand, but Lailah believed that you could be taking pictures of a moment and still be in the moment. Though she knew that one had to be careful of that. If one took too many pictures or was just taking video the entire time, that was different.

"I will be able to remember that this was such a nice day, and those were such nice clouds. And maybe when it's rainy, I can go back and look at that picture and be a bit happier, knowing that the clouds will eventually let up again. " She turned to them. "I don't really know if I forget things often. I just know that my mind does wander a lot. Or at least that's what I've been told."

She gave them a soft smile. "I don't think it's too bad though. I don't dwell on the bad things at least."

Lailah blinked at Sanlen a couple of times. She wasn't sure, but she thought that Sanlen didn't seem to actually get taking pictures. She giggled a bit. "Mostly by date actually. If I have enough pictures, I'll put them in an album specifically for those types, and they'll be sorted by date taken. Here." She said as she handed them the camera. "All you need to do is point it at something, and click that button at the top, and you'll have taken a picture! If you want to try it that is." If there was one thing that Lailah was bad at, it was actually making sure that others wanted to do something.

If she got an idea in her head, she often would just go with that before thinking about what others actually wanted to do.

Lailah nodded. "Anything you can point it at and you just click the button!" She said, curious as to what they would take a picture of. Would it be the playground? The tree to the left? That rock over there?! It could be anything! But, Sanlen surprised her with an even more interesting picture! Their mouth! She hadn't thought of that before!

She was practically giddy with excitement, and quietly motioned for them to give her the camera. "Yeah, you should be able to. Let me just take it and I'll let you look." It had taken a bit of learning, but eventually she learned how to go back and look at her history of pictures. It was a good thing too considering how many she actually took.

Finally! It looked like Sanlen was actually interested in the camera! They were asking a bunch of questions about it right now, and Lailah couldn't quite answer them all at once. "I can have a lot! I think over 100 at least! And they can stay, but then you can't take more if you want to keep them on the camera! And this is where you can delete them..." She said, continuing to answer their questions and showing them how to use the various features of the camera.

The conversation may not have started off that well, but it had turned around! And Lailah could actually show them why she liked to take pictures so much!
