Woah.
Using the crystal tablet communicator was way easier when you had thumbs! Silk's feet were kicking back and forth from the wall he sat on top of outside the Negaspace castle. His fingers flew across the screen as he checked what the word was lately, if anyone needed a cat for anything, and just other things in general. Speaking of General, actually---
Now that he was done with his 'errands', he pulled up his General's contact information and sent the man a message. Just a quick one. To let him know to come and see him at the castle when he had a moment, as long as he wasn't busy, of course! Silk knew how hectic his schedule was, and this really wasn't an urgent matter, but well---
He did wanna show off that he had a human form now.

It wasn't often that Silk made a request from him, at least in such a formal manner, so when his new communicator tablet pinged him, he answered promptly. There had been some paperwork that he'd been attending to and some notes that he'd been making in regards to his team but otherwise, Labyrinthite did not adhere to a strict schedule and could come and go as he pleased.
It was the benefit of being his own boss for the most part.
In response to Silk, he said Meet me outside the front of the castle in ten minutes.
When the kitten arrived he would find the general waiting on a step below the doors with his hands held behind his back.

Silk pumped a fist in excitement and hissed a small yes to himself when his General agreed to meet, and so quick at that! It was then he had to pause a moment and stare at his hand a bit baffled. Woah. He just did that thing humans do when they're excited. The power of hands! Wait--- With Labyrinthite coming so soon though, that didn't give Silk a lot of time to plan out his totally cool and awesome debut of his human form. Yikes. The next ten minutes for Silk were spent with a lot of furious pacing on his section of wall he had been perched on. Not to mention some cursing and mumbling under his breath, thinking, glaring, and then a 'time is now, boys' when he felt the signature of a general appear nearby. s**t! He still didn't think of anything awesome---wait. Okay. He kind of had an idea and well...it was just going to have to do. Silk sucked in a big breath, and then started to run along the wall. When he came to a break, he cleared the jump to the next section, and when he physically saw the General, he sped up. Okay, gotta like, nail this jump or else this was gonna be super embarrassing--- Silk ran, and then lept off, aiming for a spot at the bottom of the stairs before Labyrinthite, but as he was sailing through the air in a rather graceful arc, he realized something. He knew how to land on four feet from a fast and high descent--- but could he land two? He didn't have too much time to think, because his feet hit the ground, and luckily he only wobbled a bit, his long sleeves flapping briefly for him to get his balance. Alright. Golden eyes focused on the man on the stairs above him, and his hand snapped out of his over sized sleeve to jab his thumb at himself as he addressed him. "What do you think, General!?"

Not long after he'd received the request from his mauvian, Labyrinthite had teleported himself into negaspace and found himself looking up at the expanse that was the castle contemplatively. It wasn't often that he found himself in the Dark Kingdom these days, as the desire within him wrestled with his disdain for the place he'd once considered a home in the bowels of their kingdom.
The Rift.
It was a dark place, full mysteries and other things, like flashes of the time he'd spent far too long there. It still made the edges of his mouth curl upward in a snarl, a hunger surging in his belly when he thought about it for too long.
A few shakes of his head helped him recenter himself, along with several deep breaths, before he was carrying himself up the stairs to meet Silk. Upon first glance, he didn't see the familiar face of his kitten and instead found himself face to face with...someone with feline features and--
Further squinting, and the mannerisms, helped him put two and two together rather quickly.
Amused, he allowed himself to smile. "How long have you had this trick up your sleeves, Silk?"

The smile from his General was worth it all. Silk felt his already huge pride swelling even further at the action, and he couldn't help but grin widely. It showed, as his chin was tilted up so that his mouth cleared the fluff that surrounded his neck. "Not too long!" He replied, lowering his hand to rest clothed fists on his waist. "I felt I could do it after some time, and so I tested it out and did! I think it will be really helpful---" He paused, not quite knowing where exactly yet, but hey. "In Negaspace anyways---I can use the tablets easier! So that will be good for keeping in touch with the team when needed because I have thumbs!" His hands shot off his hips so that he could raise both of his thumbs above his head. "My sister could suppress my aura too I guess and I could use this form outside of Negaspace as well, but yeah!"

Were he a more emotionally expressive person then Silk's enthusiasm was catching. As it were he looked pleased enough, or as much as Labyrinthite ever looked pleased. His glove hand reached out to pat the catboy's head, fingers moving to the base of one of his ears, a habit from a time long ago with ears of another.
"Thumbs are useful, perhaps we can make use of this form for future projects." He seemed contemplative, though he offered no information of what those projects might be.
"Theodore could be of use as well, he's more easily accessible for our needs." Prissy's cat lived in the manor with them while Silk's sister lived elsewhere. "Or we could use both." Additional efforts would make it easier for the collective to move without drawing attention.
"What other tricks do you have up your sleeves Silk?"

Yes, thumbs were very useful and good for future pro--- The other cat's name being brought up immediately brought the sourest expression to Silk's face. Since he was in human form, the disgust was more visible and apparent. " Ugh." But because he had been scolded the last time he got into a tussle with the other cat (and Chase's disapproval from then still stung), that was as far as his displeasure went. " I guess." Oh boy. He would go OUT OF HIS WAY to grab his sister for future projects if given the chance. Silk's arms lowered and he ended up crossing them, billowing sleeves folding underneath his arms. "Well---not much else, General." He replied honestly, disappointed he had nothing else to show, "That was the big one for now---but I have been studying more senshi upgrades!" This felt like a bright spot. Even with Labyrinthite's uh... issue, Silk wasn't going to tip toe around it. It wasn't in his nature to be anything but brash. "I watched my sister perform two, and we also had an older Guardian watching and giving feedback during then! So I'm feeling good on that front for future upgrades!" There was a pause, and since they were on the subject of senshi: "How are you feeling about---yanno?"

The disgusted face did not go unnoticed and Labyrinthite clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth in a manner that sounded disappointed.
Luckily, or perhaps unluckily, the general didn't voice any feelings or thoughts about it. Silk would be expected to 'play nice' and be civil in group company. What the two maus did privately was to be settled between them, assuming it didn't result in destroying some part of his abode.
The cuffs of his jacket were adjusted as he listened, gaze cast downward instead of watching the catboy. It was good that he was getting lessons from someone he felt he could trust, especially considering that Labyrinthite could not provide him with such things, but there was something strange about discussing senshi so casually.
Many avoided the subject and while he worked to 'fix' his problems, it was a slow process with no true recovery despite measures taken.
"Depends on the day, the circumstances, my mood." He answered, more or less honestly.

The ears on top of Silk's head flattened briefly at that click of tongue. Ugh. The disappointment was real. In the boy's books, it was lucky that the General said nothing else. The Guardian looked up at the towering figure after his question, golden eyes observing him. "Right." He replied simply, because yeah, that made sense. He thought Labyrinthite was doing good. Like...there hadn't been any repeats of what had happened to Adamantine so...it was good! There was a moment of silence on Silk's part, and then the boy raised a hand, shaking it free of his sleeve. He then reached for one of Labyrinthite's gloved ones, and smaller fingers wrapped around the larger gloved ones the best he could. Then he just held onto it. It seemed like the right thing to do. "You'll get through it." Silk said, his voice expressing nothing but certainty, because it was as obvious, to him, as the fact that the sun rose and set. Nuxaz I think we can wrap this soon!

Brows crinkled as his hand was captured and grasped by the catboy and Labyrinthite looked at his mauvian with an almost quizzical expression across his usually passive features.
Silk wasn't wrong and even if the general had doubts about the certainty of his recovery, he wasn't going to voice them. It was as important as ever to maintain a controlled appearance when he was able, to soften the blows of the times he was more unrestrained and his carefully grasped control slipped.
"Things change with time," he said, instead of the dozen things floating in his mind. "We are survivors, there is nothing we cannot get through." His jaw tensed, eyes narrowing with unfocus before he looked away, drawing his hand back at the same time.
"The lone wolf dies, but the pack survives," he murmured, an echo of a statement he had imparted on someone else, once upon a time. "Come, there are things we can attend to."
With that statement, Labyrinthite moved to walk away from their meeting spot expecting Silk to follow.

Silk simply nodded his head firmly. What his General said was true, and there was nothing to add on or dispute. Admittedly, the Guardian was a little disappointed when Labyrinthite let go of his hand, but they weren't in the privacy of the Black Manor either, so he got it. "Alright!" He replied, of course, following on the man's heels, eager to be of more help and use.
