Lixes out in the yard of the small place he lived in with his family, swinging around the large hammer that he carried with him. It was just a warm up since later they would be training with their fathers, something that it would seem was required if they were planning on trying to fight with the Dretch. At least according to their Earthling father that was the only way they were allowed to go. He wondered if it was a real stipulation or if the man was trying to scare them away from the Dretch battle by training them into the ground. It was something he'd only find out when he went to train with his brother later on. As he swung his hammer around he found himself debating if maybe he needed a new one or something. This one was starting to feel more and more... light these days. It could just be the training or the fact that he was getting stronger that made the weapon feel light, huh? He found himself wondering if he should go about getting a newer, bigger one. If he had that he'd be able to take on bigger, scarier foes and more dangerous creatures. It was something that he'd run by his fathers later, after he got through the training session. For now he'd just continue with his warm up! He wanted to be ready for whatever was thrown his way after all.

Rajani huffed as she made it to Lixes' home. She was a bit out of breath and had some bloody scrapes on her upper left arm. Some dirt still clung to them o show she'd likely ran into a tree or had been pushed into one. The hammer she usually carried over her shoulder was being dragged across the ground behind her. When she spotted her best friend she gave a sigh of relief and moved closer to him before finally lowering herself to the ground to lay down. Sprawled out on her back she closed her eyes and focused on catching her breath. In the back of her head she was thinking about how much trouble she might be in when she got back home. Chal didn't know she had snuck out. Well, he might now but that was beside the point. Considering she had gotten attacked by a small group of Menzuri, she could see her dad being very upset with her. Rajani was starting to wonder why they were suddenly more active. She'd never encountered them on her way to visit Lixes before so it was odd to say the least. After a moment of laying there she gave a groan and rolled her head to the side to look at her friend.

Turning to the side as he heard someone approaching he spotted Rajani, something that made him smile... at least until he saw the condition that she was in. His mismatched eyes went wide before he gave his hammer a little toss over his shoulder, letting it land where it would. Once he was without the weapon he rushed over to his friend, looking her over as she lay on the ground, "Rajani? What happened? Are you alright? Was it Elsif again?" Shaking his head he stepped in closer to her, squatting down, and set to looking her over. After a moment he reached out, scooping her up, "Don't worry! I'm going to get you to a healer. I'm sure Jerami is around and he can patch you in no time! Just hold on." He said, instantly running toward where the Princess lived, worried that Rajani was in danger and needed healed straight away.

Her browns came together as she saw Lixes throw his hammer like it was nothing. Rajani could do that too but she didn't. Her hammer was precious. When she was bombarded with questions about what happened she tried to tell him but was cut off as he mentioned a certain shifter. Once she was picked up though she made another noise. "Lixes!" It didn't occur to her that he would pick her up. While normally she would complain about being touched she didn't mind since she was close to the hybrid. Instead she moved so that she could wrap her arms around him to ensure she wasn't dropped. And if it allowed for it her legs might have wrapped around him as well, just depending on how Lixes was holding her. "I'm fine. It was just a small group of menzuri. They seem to be more active lately." Rajani gave another huff and rested her head on her friend, making sure to face inwards so that she could nuzzle his neck. "I'm just wore out is all." Between running and swinging her hammer and doing everything in her power to avoid the poison of those things.. to say she needed to catch her breath was an understatement. Annnnnnnd, she had traveled by herself. Something she didn't imagine Lixes would be happy about either.

The concern on Lixes's face only seemed to deepen as she explain to him what had happened. A menzuri? Those were dangerous, the younger ones even more because they had less control over how much venom they used when they bit. That was something that came with time and experience that they didn't have yet. Instantly he asked, "Are you alright? Did they bite you? How many times?" Did they have to go to a more powerful healer then Jerami? She was just 'worn out'? Was that a symptom of the venom? He didn't recall it being from the last time he'd run into the victim of a menzuri but that meant nothing. He wasn't an expert on their bites by any means so it could very well be a result of a bite. It really meant that he had to get to the healer faster then expected. Not to mention he would have to take her to a different healer. Turning on a sharp corner and started down a different street, "I will bring you to a more expert healer since menzuri were involved."

"What? No.. Lixie.." She lifted her head and id what she could to move so that she was blocking his view of the street. Rajani gave him a look before she continued. "I wasn't bitten. I'm fine. Just.. take me back so we can lay in the grass, alright big guy?" The shifter patted him on the shoulder before laying her head back down to where it was against his neck. As he mentioned a different healer she stilled. Surely he was joking. He had to be. If her moving around, clinging to him and saying she was fine wouldn't stop him then what would? With no other option that came to mind and her half panic at being around some stranger Rajani got closer to Lixes' ear, lowering her voice a little since she wanted him to have to really try and hear her. "Lixes..." Hopefully that got him to pay attention. If not then she would make sure he listened by nipping at his ear. "There is a damsel in distress in the woods. Shall we go back to get our hammers?" Innocent as can be she tried to trick him with the thought of someone else in danger.

"Good, good! I saw someone that was bitten by one before and it's not a pretty sight." He said, trying to calm himself as he was patted on the shoulder by his friend. Good, so not bitten. So they were just picking on her? Stupid menzuri... they really did need a good smashing, didn't they? Something that he really needed to see about doing once he was done with more training both on his own and with his fathers. "Huh?" He turned to look at her as she... bit him for some reason. He starred, head cocked to one side, then went wide eyed as she mentioned someone else that was in need of help out in the woods. He took a couple steps in that direction, shifted in place, then looked utterly confused as to what he should be doing. Rajani said that she needed rest, that she wanted to lay in the grass and just relax... but also mentioned wanting to get the hammers to go save someone that was lost in the woods. Giving a humming sound he finally said, "I... don't know... what to say. Should I drop you off at my place, get my hammer, and then go save the girl?"

"Yeah, Elsif got me with a small arrow and Menzuri poison not too long ago. That wasn't all that fun." Rajani wasn't really keen on the hallucinations she saw either so she shuddered. When it seemed like her plan worked she gave a small chuckle and shook her head. "There is no one in the woods. I just said that to get your attention." Which was really kinda mean of her since she knew how Lixes liked being the hero and all. So she thought about it before trying to wiggle out of his grasp. If he let her then she'd stand in front of him, if he didn't then she would do what she could to wrap her legs around his waist and her arms around his neck. "Be my hero and take me back to lay down and relax? What were you doing anyways?" Her question was more about him tossing his hammer to the side like it meant nothing. "The hammer is supposed to stay in your hands to be effective."

"What?! I swear I'm going to break that idiot's leg with my hammer!" Which... he didn't have at the moment so he supposed that would have to wait now, wouldn't it? Giving a grumbling sound he took a couple steps back toward home, then paused again. He was obviously confused now which way he was supposed to be going. He wanted to have her see a healer, wanted to go beat up Elsif, wanted to go save the Damsel, wanted to bring Rajani somewhere to rest, and instead of doing any of those he just sort of... stood there. "H-Huh?" There was nobody in the woods? That was just made up? He couldn't help but to stare at her, giving a slight shake of his head, "Are you... sure?" So there wasn't a person that was out there needing help so that meant that there was at least one less thing for him to worry about. That just left three things for him to worry about, all of which revolved around his friend. Giving a nod as she talked about what he needed to do he started to back track toward home. What was he doing? He gave a slight smile and said, "Warming up. My fathers are going to be training Drexl and I so we can go to help out in the battle against the Dretch once we are all called for." He explained, as for his hammer he said, "I know it is... but i was worried about you. That and I am starting to wonder if maybe I need a new hammer, that one feels a bit too light these days." That show of strength proven by how easily he could carry Rajani around despite his shorter stature.

His reaction to the Elsif news made her cringe as she'd forgotten that he hadn't been told. "Ooo, sorry. I wasn't going to tell you about that." Not because she didn't want him to know but because she didn't want him to get all worked up. "It's OK though, I haven't seen him around since then." Rajani nodded her head. As Lixes asked if she was sure about there being no one in the woods she chuckled and nodded. "Yes Lixie.. I'm sure." Of course it did make her feel bad for tricking him. "I shouldn't have said that. I know you like being the hero." His comment about being worried about her made her smile at him. "Awe, Lixes." Her tone was touched with sarcasm but did seem genuine otherwise. Rajani leaned close once again but this time she kissed her friend on the corner of the mouth. "You don't have to worry about me, just the damsels." With that she nodded.

Lixes gave another grumbling sound, not really liking the idea that her brother had done something like that but she wasn't going to tell her about it. On top of that she thought that it was 'okay' for some reason. He didn't think that such a thing was alright, in fact he thought the guy should get punched for it! He'd refrain for now though if she thought that it was alright and that the guy hadn't been around for a while. If he stayed away from her then Lixes would stay away from him. If he came back though it would be a third strike against him. Lixes took a few steps back toward home when he was suddenly kissed, something that caused him to nearly drop Rajani. He was able to catch her, though barely, before putting her on her feet. He stood there, starring at her, then said, "Are you sure you're alright?" She was acting weirdly, which had him worried that she was in fact menzuri bit. She had to be hallucinating or something if she was acting that way. So should be bring her to a healer or should he be letting her rest? "Are you sure they didn't bite you?"

When he grumbled again she frowned. "I wasn't seriously hurt, Lixie. Chalcedony was with me when it happened." She thought maybe her friend was upset because he thought she'd been alone when Elsif had done it. A gasp escaped her as she was nearly dropped and her instant reaction was to cling even more to Lixes to avoid hitting the ground. This meant that her thighs tightened around his waist as her chest was pressed against his and one hand found its way into the back of his hair. "Lixie!" What was he thinking!? Rajani wasn't too keen on the idea that she could have gone thump on the ground. So when he set her down she made sure her feet were firmly planted before letting go of Lixes. "What was that for? If I'm too heavy just say so." The shifter shook her head at him but still had a smile. "Guess training isn't a bad idea." After all if he couldn't hold her weight then a new hammer might tire him out. "Yes, I'm really okay. No bites. No poison. Just this scrape on my arm." She commented as she turned her attention to her upper arm. The blood had dried and bits of bark still clung to it but it really looked worse than it was.

Lixes flushed a bit, "Sorry, not really something that I am used to. I mean I just save people, you know?" He gave a shrug of his shoulders before he made a motion with one hand, "Come on, let's go back. That way you can sit down and rest since I kind of carried you off and ruined that rest for you." Which had caused her to take desperate measures and pretend there was someone that needed saved just to get through to him. Giving her arm a once over he gave a humming sound, then said, "That should be something I can fix. I know some basic first aid, nothing magical but enough that I can at least try to help." He would have to gather what he need to help clean her up though it would have to wait until they got back. It was impossible to fix the wound if he had no supplies after all.

When she noticed him looking a little embarrassed, or at least she assumed thats what it was, she moved a little closer and smiled at him. "Hey, it's okay, Lixie. You were trying to take me to a healer which would have saved me if I were injured." Rajani reached up and tugged at the longer bits of his hair, something she seemed to do when she wanted him to cheer up. "So you're still a hero in my eyes." As Lixes stated that he could fix her arm she looked at it for a moment then nodded. "I don't think its all that bad, just dirty." Rajani then reached up to poke at the tender bits of skin. When no more fresh blood came out she gave another nod. "Yeah, it's not bad. Though my dad is going to have a fit if he finds out I came all the way here on my own and got hurt too." Maybe it would heal before she got back home? Rajani could only hope. Either that or she would need to find a long sleeved top. Her eyes went to her friend efore she paused. She had been about to ask him for one but who was she kidding? Lixie hardly wore a shirt at all.

Still a hero in her eyes, huh? He had to wonder given how Drexl and Rajani were scolding him last time they all got together. Maybe it was alright with him being her hero but not as alright when he was running around trying to save everyone? He couldn't really say but he guessed that he'd take what he could get. Mostly because it wasn't really easy to break into the hero business it turned out. Not that it would stop him from trying or anything, he'd get it figured out eventually. "Well, better safe then sorry. Especially if you father might not be happy with way you slipped away like you did? At least that way it would show you got the wound tended to?" He suggested as they walked before looking forward, "I know parents aren't ever pleased when you go running off without really letting them know. imagine the look on my fathers faces when Drexl and I got back from a 'quick' visit to Sauti recently." Likely another reason why they meant to train them into the ground, to punish them for all of that. Worth it though if he could learn more interesting battle techniques from the pair of seasoned warriors. Pointing he said, "Alright, we're back. If you want to sit down I will fetch some stuff so I can take care of your arm."
