Even if she was only a junior this year, she had all of next year to make sure her grades weren't slacking and that she had a solid application into the city's main university. Chrysoprase practically wormed in her boots at the thought. University! It seemed like such a huge step for her future, and she knew her parents would freak over it, but wasn't that the right thing to do? She totally loved the life she built for herself now, even if her dad thought getting all educated was a waste of time. ******** him, she decided. She was going to see this through.
And Chrysoprase would start by a quick and easy multitask: drain some irresponsible, out-late college kids while she figured out her way around campus. Super simple.
She bounded onto the (way more open) campus grounds near the parking lot, and already she spotted a gaggle of already0drunk college students. It was a pretty big group of guys, and she had her hesitations about that. Even if she was a Negaverse officer, she didn't exactly have five pairs of arms to deal with five guys. So she followed for a while, and spent her time looking at all the curving paths around the old university buildings. She tossed her hat into a fat evergreen bush, kept her hands behind her back, and followed their lurching walk at a fair distance. And whenever they looked back, she turned her attention to the way the dewey grass glittered underneath the sidewalk lamps.
Finally most of them split off, and the last guy started toward the parking lot while feeling up his own butt. It took Chrysoprase a moment to figure out what the hell he was doing (was he trying to give himself a good time? Was he looking for his wallet?) but the figure relaxed when a familiar, pitched jingle sounded. And with that great big sigh of relief, Chrysoprase knew it was her turn to start multitasking.
"Oof!" She grunted as she slammed herself into the guy, caught herself, and braced her hand against his chest. "Sorry about that! Are you okay?" By now, she knew how to fake interest while that telltale purple orb formed behind her back.
