Following the path from the port, forests lined the left with open land to the right. New sights would follow any who travled as fencing started to become visiable. More stone then the orginal wood spoke of its' builders never ending tasks. Biggest feature from there would be the huge wood and stone struture becoming a clearer barn the closer an observer walked. Fluffly clouds of gray, brown and white grazed plain to see calling to one another or just walking without a care in the world.
Minders for the animals worked in the fields, taking care of the alpaca, donkies and roaming fowl. Two finished homes, very obviously different creatures for their far different designs became the next landmarks along the fence. A third home stood nearly completed of the same style found in the taller two story home. The one story ranch style home was where the path would follow off the main road through an arched sign reading Kurt's Ranch. That path was lined by fresh cotton on either side and went all the way to the front door. In the yard near the door one bright pink woman 'worked' more like relaxed taking her time shelling peas for dinner. Really she was inclined against the foundation of the house taking her time on each part of the tasks given to her.

The moment Ros stepped off the landing pad, DYB snapped awake and looked around, knuckling one eye. "Wherrawe? Wha happen to da nice lady?" he asked, leaning away so he could get a clear view of Ros' face. "Well good morning, sleepyhead," Ros laughed, ruffling his hair fondly. "The nice lady is named Menolly and she stayed behind. But don't be sad; she said we could visit her whenever we wanted. Right now, we're on Telrunya isle and we're headed toward a place Menolly told me about. You wanna walk or ride on my shoulders?""Shouldahs."Obliging him, Roslyn waited while he settled himself, bracing him by holding onto his ankles, then started down the path. Soon enough, there were the fences she was told to look for, then the buildings and animals. Pointing things out to DYB along the way, she came to the turn-off with it's arched sign and started down, spotting at least one pae in the distance leisurely shelling peas. "I think we're here, Bestie. Get their attention, yeah?"DYB cupped his hands around his mouth and let out a huge, "Helloooooo!" then started wildly waving his arms and kicking up a general ruckus from his perch on the older angel's shoulders.

Sudden little voice sent her head snapping up, sending cotton candy curle flying into her face. Shaking her head, again she searched the ground first expecting one of the little ankle bitters to have gotten into something or another. Smallest of the Alma brood were taking naps, well should be anyway. However with Pip, one never really knew.
Only that voice wasn't really any of the kids so she looked up to the entrance and her eyes followed up the body of the angel to find the face of the guest as well as further up to the source of the voice. Another ankle bitter, joy of joys.
Brushing off her hands from the work she'd done, Corazon stood and called to the house first, "Mom, Dad we have guests!" Fluffing her hand and making sure she was in just right form, the wilwarin walked towards the angles with her wings gently flapping behind her. It wasn't enough to fly but enough to give that effect she liked so much no matter what Kara said about it. Offering a smile as the hospitality face settled on as if perfectly painted, "Hello, Welcome to Kurt's Ranch!" She added a wave of her right hand before stopping about half way between the entrance and the house to gesture for the pair to enter. A little giggle came from a bush near the entrance. One shake, two shakes, three before the green child popped out from her hiding place. Whatever mischief she had planned had failed the moment new people showed up. Even better, there was someone her size! Her little brother and sister were too small to truly play with.
The green angel was just her size! Oh she hoped they would stay! Running ahead of the angel she waved to both of them hoping from one foot to the other as she moved, "Hiya!Hiya!"

Ros paused in front of the pae who'd welcomed them to introduce herself and DYB but, the moment she opened her mouth to say hello, a green pae just Bestie's size popped out of a bush. Feeling her charge start to wiggle and squirm more than ever, she crouched down and told him, laughing, "Ok, ok. Go before you cause me permanent neck damage. Don't get into trouble; we're guests here."Gleefully leap-frogging off over Ros' head, he raced to the other child and mirrored her, bouncing on the balls of his feet. "Hihi, I'm Do Ya Best," he told her, beaming and patting his chest above the kite symbol on his tummy before waving vaguely at Roslyn to show he'd heard the warning.Shaking her head, Ros straightened up and smiled sheepishly at the elegant speckled female, finger-combing her ruffled hair back into place. "Sorry about that. He's just excited. I hope we're not already making nuisances of ourselves and reflecting badly on Miss Menolly's advice," she said a little breathlessly. "I'm Roslyn."

Pip waved to the adult, giving her best sweet smile before the boy her age joined her. With her hands behind her back she looked up at the adult until she turned to talk with Corazon.
Smiling brightly she brought her hands forward to clap happily, "I am Pip, nice to meetcha Best!" Reaching out to offer her hand she asked him, "Do you want to play? We can skip rocks or I can show you around!" Both ideas were great, she finally hand a friend her size besides her sister!Corazon watched the two children a moment, her attention was turned back to the angle. "Menolly? Oh mom's friend from the City. No, you aren't though Pip might change that." Shaking her head at the children, still wary of Pip getting the boy into trouble. "Welcome to Kurt's Ranch, I am sure Mom already has something going for you inside. Please come in! Are you here to visit before going back to the City or would you like to stay with us? Alma almost finished another home." Waving her hand int he direction of the nearly finished house.
Alma would love her if Ros wanted to stay. Belatedly she remembered it was rude not to return her name, "I am Corazon, my mom is Zofie the villiage leader with my dad." That was everything right? The script wasn't quite there but it got her out of pea shelling for a while so it was worth it.

"Nice ta meecha, too, Pip," DYB responded, remembering his manners, and took the offered hand. "I like'a skip rocks an' s'plore. I saw all da aminals and fields onna way here. 'Nolly tol' us about da 'pacas and stuff," he chattered away at her, his little wings ruffling with enthusiasm."Pleasure to meet you, Corazon. And Pip seems sweet." Content to let DYB bond with his obvious new friend, Ros accepted the invitation but waited for the other pae to lead the way. In a new place and still unsure of her situation, she was inclined to defer to others instead of stepping out boldly.
"I'm not sure what the plan is at the moment," she answered honestly, clasping her hands behind her back and lightly scuffing at the ground with one foot. "I wanted to at least see the isle again but I told Menolly we'd visit. She was really taken with DYB but she was all glowing praise of this place. I suppose it depends on what Bestie wants to do, really. His comfort is my priority." The idea of making a home here wasn't so bad, though, and the mention of a new house being almost completed gave her a warm, fuzzy feeling in her chest.

Pip beamed bouncing from foot to foot. There were so many options they had to all be done at once in case she lost her new friend. "Yay!" Tossing her hands up with joy she took off towards the bush she had been hiding in without a moments notice before hand. Rustling was heard as the bush shifted dramatically this way or that way.
All at once it seemed to explode as she came flying out with her hands full of stones. This had taken a while to collect but most were flat enough that they would do well. Settling her self down besides DYB, she dropped them down between their feet explaining, "the 'paca are so soft and nice, I have to show them soon!" Looking back over to the herd cared for in part by her Daddy. Everyone loved them!
Picking up a rock she offered the rules to the game, "We can throw them that way." Pointing the path Ros had taken to enter the ranch. Everywhere else they could hit plants or someone else. "See who gets farther?" Already picking up her dark rock waiting to see if he wanted to play what she wanted to play. For her part, Corazon eyed the children with weariness, "Let her and both of them will be knocked out from playing too hard." How sweet Pip was depended on the day, the little imp. She'd leave it be for now, but knew better than to completely take her eyes off the children. "Well, we welcome anyone who wants a place to be. Mom is probably getting the two of you a place at the table as we speak. If you'd like, after you've had a chance to eat I can take you to the other house? We'll get it comfortable for you as long as you are here." Mom would be proud of her, if she managed to get them to stay. Alma would be through the roof and Pip could torment someone else.
It was a win win! Starting towards the house, glancing over her shoulder she got to the front porch offer their guest entrance into the house. The smells coming out of it told her Mother put on extra options. Sweet bread was a rare treat and it was very clearly wafting.
Eyeing the kids she called to them, "Once you've tried better come and get washed up if you want to eat. You two Pip!" Just in case the girl wasn't listening. Her wave to her said that she was right.

DYB followed at a bit of a distance, standing off to the side as Pip dived into the bush. Looking wide-eyed at the amount of shaking going on, he startled a little when she burst out again with her hands full of flat, rounded rocks which she let fall into a pile.
Crouching down to sift through for a good one, he paid rapt attention to her explanation of the 'paca and then the rules for the game. "Maybe afta we do dis, an eat, you can show me? I've nevah seen a 'paca 'cept today from a ways," he said, gesturing vaguely to indicate distance.
Listening with half an ear to the adults, he opted for play first. Roslyn would let him know when to stop and come in for food and then he and Pip could have all the adventures.Snorting with suppressed giggles at Corazon's aggrieved expression, Ros piped up, "At least they'll tire each other out and not us." Then, a little louder so he'd hear her, she added, "Play here for now, Bestie. Don't go off exploring without me 'cause I want to see, too."
Following to the porch, she gave Corazon a grateful nod. "I'd like to see the house. And I appreciate the place to stay." Smiling and feeling good about the welcome, she stepped passed and inside to the aroma of something delicious being made. Inhaling deeply, she let her breath out in a happy sigh, the first one since they'd woken up in the Hall of Lost Souls. "Whatever that is smells amazing."

Pip nodded vigorously answering, "I cannot wait! I can show you the second best hiding spots and all the animals!" Showing him the best hiding spots would just make hide and seek less fun. Second best was just playing more fair. The adults were heard, and just barely minded by the the green child. tossing her rock in her hand a few times to get a feel for it, the child tossed it towards the arch.
The stone the the stone path and popped back into the air skipping forward three more times before landing past the arch. Cheering she tossed her hands up declaring, "Four! Your turn, Bestie!" It might have occurred to anyone else to explain the game, Pip didn't even think of it. Corazon laughed lightly remarking, "That would be a blessing!" Yes let the two get themselves tired rather then the insistent requests to play. Good change of pace if DYB could take care of her charge for her. Pip wouldn't let the boy get hurt on purpose so at least that was safe enough.
Setting on the porch with the bowl of half shelled peas she answered, "I'll take you there after dinner, you and Alma can talk about what is comfortable for you. Shes..enthusiastic and quick to action but really nice to talk to when shes tired. Pip is her daughter." Even though not by birth, the similarities between the two were startling. Letting the air fill her lungs she picked up a pea and told her, "You can go in and meet everyone if you want, I need to finish shelling these before going in myself." One was picked and and she slowly got to work. Slower still to see what the angel decided to do.

Despite having been 'asleep' for so long, DYB was no stranger to the art of skipping rocks. To be fair, though, he had played by tossing them at water but he figured that he should be able to do this with some slight adjustments.
Hefting his rock like Pip had, he gave it a couple experimental tosses and then, with his tongue poking out in concentration, he let fly. "One, two, three," he counted along with each bounce but the rock stuttered on the next. "D'aw, three 'n a half. You're good at this, Pip," he declared cheerfully but then, struck by a sudden thought, he exclaimed, "Hey! Whaddaya mean second best hiding spots?" He grinned to show that there were no hard feelings but began an annoying singsong, "Cheater, cheater, keepin' the best ones!"Rolling her eyes at the boisterousness of the kids, Ros glanced down at Corazon and found herself at an impasse. On one hand, good manners urged her to offer to help shell the rest of the peas but, on the other, wasn't it also good manners to greet your hosts? Chewing her lip and unconsciously shifting from one foot to the other, Roslyn considered.
Finally, she came to a decision and settled herself opposite Corazon. "Here, I'll help you finish up then we can call the kiddos over and all go in together," she said, reaching for a pod and cracking it. She just couldn't, in good conscience, go in while the other stayed outside to finish her chore.EvilSilverDragon Sorry about the delay ^^;

Putting her hands on her side she boasted, "I have a lot of practice." Her eyes were shut and her chin high with small 'hehe' sound. Most of the time the practice was constructive. Most of the time. Pride shifted as he accused her of cheating. Taking a moment to watch his expression, her own blanked one morphed into a huge smile. "I can't make it too easy on you, can I?" Hoping from foot to foot, she tapped his shoulder and took off running. The goal was to get to the rock, didn't mean she couldn't make a game of it.
Unspoken rules were followed, her wings stayed pined to her back. Had to make the game fair didn't she? Her hand rose to cover her mouth, fingers supposedly working to shell the peas, to hide her smile. Victory! "Oh, thank you! Many hands make light work, as mom says. She'll have everything ready for us by the time we are finished!" Her left arm came up in a shoulder pumped action to follow the encouraging words.
She'd like Ros, that she could already tell. The task was cut in half just by her help meaning this chore just got a whole lot easier.

At this point, rules no longer needed explanation and DYB took off like a shot after Pip, laughing with sheer exuberance. Sure, Ros was always up for a good game of chase or to race him to a predetermined spot, but she tended to let him win either because she thought she'd have the advantage with her longer legs or because she just didn't have the same amount of energy as him. Playing with Pip, though, was just right.
Seeing that she refrained from using her wings, he did the same, tucking them back while his arms and legs pumped furiously. Before long, he drew even with her. the both of them running flat out toward the rock.Roslyn looked up from the pod she was shelling to watch the two youngsters race down the pathway and glanced back at Corazon just in time to catch the edge of her victorious smile. Smiling self-deprecatingly herself, Ros realized she'd been 'had' but she couldn't begrudge her the excuse to split up a task that, for her, was probably boring and old hat by now.
Returning to the work, she shook the peas from the pod and then reached for another, cracking it with a thumb pressed along the seam. She figured that, by the time Pip and DYB came trudging back, probably breathless and flush with the thrill of friendly competition, she and Corazon would be just about done.

Pip laughed, looking back to grin at DYB. Only, he wasn't quite behind her anymore. With pigtails bouncing she raised her hand whooping to cheer him on. He was giving her more of a run for her money then she expected. His shorter bounce then her own so when she passed his rock, she kept running to her own.
As soon as the rock was retrieved she turned on her heal and made a dead run for the house. Pleased with her successful plan, Corazon went about her task at her own pace. That pace was about one to Ros' three. Pausing from time to time, she kept rising her eyes to see where the munchkins were at the moment. Oh yes, both of them would be nice and tired by the night.Elros Namasi We can do a couple things based on how you want to run it. Jump to past dinner to Alma taking them to their new home, wrap up with your last post, or dinner post?

DYB kept running with her and turned on the spot where her rock had been, stooping along the way back to scoop up his own and then hustling to catch back up. He'd consider it a win whatever the outcome, though, as this had been by far the best day ever. It might have started off a bit rough, waking up in a strange place and all, but Ros seemed happy and he had made a new fiend.
Puffing to a halt at the porch, he bent over and rested his hands on his knees for a second before he straightened up and grinned widely at the adults. "Didja see? Didja see how fast we were?""Yes, of course! I'm tired from just watching you two," she told him with just a touch of added dramatic flair. "Just think how all that energy can be put to good use helping with chores tomorrow." Snickering to herself, she quickly finished off the last pod then stood up and dusted her hands, giving DYB the brightest of smiles when his expression immediately went from proud to aghast. "Just kidding. Shall we head in and meet the rest of our hosts, then?"EvilSilverDragon Hmm.. Let's go ahead and skip dinner and I'll end on them settling in for the night. 3nodding

Huffing and puffing, Pip took a few seconds before grinning brightly, "DYB is a great runner!" Several more breaths following as she looked up at the adults. Chores just earned a grin, followed by an attempt at a subtle wink to DYB. Second best hiding spots would come in handy. Grabbing DYB by the hand she encouraged him "Lets go wash up and eat! Ms. Zofie makes the best food!" Corazon stood with the basket opening the door and looking to Ros, "Welcome again, to Kurt's Ranch!" All the pae in side, besides the Alpaca, this made the ranch what it was.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Actually tired enough from a long day, Alma only zoomed half speed, darting to the new house with only slightly less unbridled enthusiasm. Stopping in front of the wooden door she turned and opened it with pure pride on her face. Chested puffed out, ditto for the cheek, and her head up high she called out "Welcome home!" Arm bent at the elbow to allow the come in this way gesture, she stayed where she was to allow them to enter first.
"It isn't completely finished but if you tell me where you want things I'll take care of it!" The home had the basics for what they had for kitchens, sink basin and sunken food storage area to keep food cooler as well as a large open fireplace with pot hooks. There was also an indoor oven all built into the home. The living dinning area was the most bare just a large empty room for now looking towards a hall and three doors. Two of the doors lead to bedrooms one a clear master with its own bath room and larger size. That one had a bed and basics already placed in with anticipation for guests.
Everything used came from the ranch from the fiber rough stuffed mattresses, a great use for the fibers that couldn't be used for anything else, to the cotton sheets and heavy comforter. Framing came from local wood and stone combinations. One table or desk of sorts sat against the wall.
Last room was the bathroom, complete now with bamboo plumbing thanks to another ranch guest. Here there was toilet, shower/bath combination as well as sink and four fill water collections to run everything.
The other room had the same things only in a smaller scale fit for a single pae or a minipae such as DYB. "We'll get this turned into a home in no time! I can't wait!" Each word of the last sentence was punctuated with a fist pump and quick flutters of her wings.
