---"Right this way, Miss Kennedy."
Ashton bristled at the last name. It felt so foreign, so familiar, and so comforting all at the same time. Following the guidance counselor down the halls of the university, she shied away from classrooms that seemed to be brightly-lit. It was so uncomfortable, her eyes were so sensitive and she had no idea why. Someone who had been one of the first to find her had said the word 'Hallowed'...But she couldn't for the life of her figure out what it meant. It seemed almost like a bad thing to be.
And what she was was a mystery. As hard as she tried she just couldn't muster up a memory beyond the first time she opened her eyes...a week ago. While she'd had time to adjust, everything still seemed...so strange. So new. So familiar. So terrifying.
But school...learning. She knew what that was at least, and it helped. It helped a lot.
"Your senior-buddy will be along shortly." The tall demon assured her as she sat down in a char just outside of what she guessed was an office of some sort. Still not used to her body parts, she winced as she sat down on her tail, then fought to adjust it so she could sit down.
"Thanks." She said, folding her arms, hands gently rubbing her biceps, tracing the unfamiliar slightly-glowing markings etched into her pale skin. It was going to be better if she had someone to show her around...right?

http://magika.space/nightmare/Certs/Seniors/Sabrina Daria.pngSabrina stalked down the hall in a huff. Just because some stupid teacher had taken exception to her dealing with a CRISIS in class, something about a quiz going on and even though Sabrina had finished hers and wanted to deal with the issue she was having..... teachers getting a wild crystal up the arse! *sigh* Who knew what sort of nerd she'd get stuck with.....and a young nerd at that. They would probably develop a crush on her and she'd have to deal with THAT whole problem. And the damnable teacher had taken her phone so she couldn't finish her convo with her besty. Fit to be tied she reached the office she'd been told to go to as part of her detention. She rounded the corner and paused to look over the newbie. Her eyes widened for a moment as she realized that this Nightmare was LIKE HER! Clearly hallowed. And uncomfortable. She cocked a hip and then tossed her head in a come hither gesture. " I'm Sabrina Daria, lets get this over with"

---No way. No way in hell. Ugh, god, er, gods? Whatever. The point right now was that someone had decided that throwing sass her way was a good way to introduce themself. And it absolutely didn't help that they were so...colored that the light of the building refracted just enough to be too bright. A headache was forming, and it wasn't helping with a growing sour attitude of her own.
"Ashton. I don't know if--" She was cut off by a sudden uncontrollable spasm in her shoulder that caused one of her wings to flare out and slam into, and consequently break the glass of, a cabinet that held what seemed to be sports trophies.
Before she could finish exclaiming "s**t!", the demon councilor popped his head out of the office, waved a hand, and the glass was repaired almost instantly.
"Do be more careful. And Sabrina? Do try and be nice. It's only for the day." He disappeared back inside the office just as quickly as he popped out.
"...Sorry." Her mood was quashed into embarassment as she strode up to her 'buddy', arms wrapped around herself again. "I'm...not very good with them. Erm, the...the wings."

She watched as the Hallowed apparently seized and took an inadvertent step back. and another as the glass shattered not wanting it under her paws. As the Demon Councilor adressed her she huffed again and wrapped her extra large floofy tails about herself and gave a reluctant nod. "Hello Ashton. I suppose we should get you out in the open....I can show you the grounds first I mean. So if you'll follow me this way...." As she trailed of she spun in a neat little circle and headed for the exit not looking back but listening for Ashton to follow. "Welcome to Asterion.....the newer of the three uni's.....blah blah blah I could babble about the uni but do you have any questions?"

"I have more questions than you have answers, actually." Ashton admitted, but unable to keep the edge from her voice. With her wings finally under control, she followed the...what were they called again? Bakeneko? It was impossible to remember everything she'd been told the past week. Everything was moving so fast, including her guide.
Hurrying best she could, almost tripping over her own tail, she caught up.
"So. Three universities? That's uh...Wow. Must be a lot of students..."

Sabrina Daria huffed at the first statement made by the Hallowed....she suposed she should probably think of her as Ashton but- she shrugged mentally.
Sensing that the newbie was not a match for her in grace, she slowed down. The last thing she needed was a trip to the nurses office with this one.
And then the next words made her pause mid step and turn back to look at Ashton. She looked down her nose at the girl and said ascerbically . "Geeze, what happened, you grew up under a rock?"
Something wasn't right, this Hall- girl didn't have the thick skin that most Hallowed had to develop..........and in spite of herself Sabrina Daria found herself getting interested in the newbie.

The very first thing that came to mind was 'this b***h'. But with her current situation demanding that she hold her tongue lest she find herself on someone's wrong side, Ashton could only allow her lip to twitch slightly as she pondered how best to answer the question.
"For all I know...I could have been. Iunno, maybe I was born into a richy-bitchy family. Maybe I was born under a boulder. I have no idea, I don't even know who I am." Her tone rose until it threatened to become a yell, but she caught herself before that happened.
"...all I know is that I'm. Not normal. Couple that with not knowing who the ******** I am and...and...I don't know." Tossing the hair out of her eyes she stared at the person who was supposed to be showing her around and answering her questions, but was in fact just frustrating her further.
"Look, just, show me around then you can get back to, iunno, gossiping with your friends at the mall or whatever."

Sabrina Daria stood her ground, as the girls pitch rose, she waited, seeing what came next. She didn't know who she was or where she was born- I mean it was normal for kids in Uni to wonder the elusive "who am I" but this sounded all together different....
and the girl continued to say she was not normal and sounded very truthfully frustrated. Sabrina Daria realized that she had helped cause some of that, and while usually she didn't mind causing a bit of chaos, this seemed to be more than that.
At the girls final statement she waved her hand as though waving away smoke and looked around for a moment. " Ok. come in here....." She took a few steps down the hallway to a darkened room lit only by ambient light, she tried the door, it was open so she held it open and ushered the girl in, closing the door softly behind her.
"Aight, something isn't right here. You know much less than you should if you'd grown up around here- and lets get one thing straight- I ain't got no ritchy-bitchy family. But I do have information, and it sounds like your in need of that. You say you're not *Normal* does the term "Hallowed" mean anything to you?"

It felt too familiar, the scenario that was happening. But no memory of anything like this having actually happened before came to her. Ashton, instead, deflated a bit, folding her wings back in fully before following, though at a slow pace with half a mind to bolt away.
But once in, her brightly-glowing green eyes looked around for the nearest chair, beelining to the one she saw and sitting down with a sigh as Sabrina spoke. Questioned. Said words that made no sense to her, at least not anymore.
Instead of answering once she'd quieted down, finishing her talking, she turned her head to show her the unshaven side, reaching up to part her hair around where her horn's base was, showing her scalp. There, just beneath the horn, Sabrina would see a large, stitched-up wound, too clean to have been from some sort of fight, but the bruising around it hinted at it having not been opened completely surgically. The stitches were clean, however, and it overall looked to have been cleaned recently.
"I don't know." She repeated, closing her eyes. "Like...That guy- He, the Demon?- He told me I just need to...learn again?"

Sabrina watched intently as the girl turned her head and parted the hair there. She couldn't help but have her eyes widen to see such a wound, certainly not what she'd expected.
A soft gasp escaped as she leaned in to note the size and bruising before stepping back and indicating that the girl could let her hair fall again. There was something most certainly not right here.
"The Demon....." Sabrina echoed the girls words.....as she tried to piece together the puzzle falling out before her.
"Ok. Lets start at basics then- when a Nightmare or Daydream is created they are a stone. Someone must use a spell to awaken that stone, to call forth the infant. Now- if this is done in the month of October, due to a major spell of the Daydream Races miscasting- there are things.....not normal..... about stones woken then. It is a crime to wake them during that time- but some people will always avoid the law. A child born of a stone woken in October is called a "Hallowed". Sabrina took a deep breath. "I am from the orphan cache that someone woke in october- hence I am.....different.... from other Bakanekos. I am much fluffier than one would normally be.... *Her luxurious fluffy tail lashed back and forth behind her as she spoke. She touched the mane of fur bursting out of her shirt* So you, are as far as I can tell, also Hallowed.
Sabrina paused to let the girl absorb what she had said.... and to allow herself a moment to re-build some of the walls she'd had to take down to be that vulnerable with someone else.

Everything made sense. How it made sense, she didn't know. but in the end, she just had to accept what others taught her, right? It's not like she had childhood memories to rely on. It would take trusting others to fill in the chasm that was her memory.
"...Right. Right, so..." Her left wing twitched as she fought to try and spread it just a bit without flaring it too much. "...These...are unusual? And I guess...everything else about me. Like...it makes me a freak. I'm not saying you are, but..."
Frustration caused her to growl, cross her arms and look away.

Sabrina watched as the other tried to make sense of things. All she could do at first was nod slowly as she watched the weight of what she was settle on the other.
"I won't tell you I'm sorry because I had nothing to do with this- but I can tell you I know being "Hallowed" is tough. To be brought into the world in such a cruel way- it sucks right? While the term "freak" may feel fitting- I would suggest "Abnormal" because who the hell wants to be normal anyways. I won't let others make me think I am lesser because of something I had zero control over. I am f******* Perfect the way I am." She drew herself up taller as she spoke, thrusting her shoulders back head held high- but now no longer looking down her nose at Ashton.
"Clearly you've been through some kinda Hell of your own, thats a wicked wound you've got there. I don't know what, why or how- but I do know that you're here now, and have got to make the best of things, or else you're just letting everyone else tell you their right that your nothing." And in a soft voice at the end she added." I don't think you're nothing." as she hesitantly put out a paw to help Ashton stand.
